Rotherham United are celebrating promotion this evening after a

dramatic play`off win at Wembley. The Millers came from 2`0 down to

secure their place in the Championship on penalties. Tanya

joins us now from Wembley. What a day. What a geek. The

Rotherham United fans have this season got used to an exciting and

attacking style of play but they have also seen a never`say`die

attitude and they needed that and much more to the end what was an

amazing match. It was never going to be a boring match between these two

but it took this wonderful strike to make it 1`02 Leyton Orient. `` 1`0.

It did not take them long to equalise. It was a beautiful goal,

this shot at getting over the keeper to make two. It remained that way to

extra time and so on to penalties. With both sides having scored one

penalty each, this shot was saved by the Leyton Orient goalkeeper. Others

were restored with this save from the keeper of Rotherham United. But

in the end, this penalty save ensured that Rotherham United were

promoted to the championship. There were cheers from manager Steve Evans

after the game and they were cheers from the fans as well, pray,

jubilation and the whole lot of emotion. Absolutely brilliant. 2`0

down, what a result. Steve Evans is the man. Quite a few of my friends

from Poland have come over for the match today. It was absolutely

unbelievable. Can you believe you have achieved back`to`back

promotions? We will be heading for the premiership soon! And they will

celebrate and party for a good few days, the fans of Rotherham, they

will have an open top bus tour at the beginning of the week and then

it will be down to business as Steve Evans prepares for life and the

championship. A man from Yorkshire with motor

neurone disease has begun a 215`mile coast to coast journey in a

wheelchair. Roy Taylor from Denby Dale is travelling off`road between

Southport and Hornsea to try to highlight how difficult it is for

disabled people to enjoy the countryside. Roy spoke to the BBC en

route. In September last year I was

diagnosed with motor neurone disease. I can hobble a few yards,

but I'm effectively wheelchair`bound to all intents and purposes.

Suddenly you go from an able`bodied person that loves the outdoors,

bird`watching, football, walking, running, to someone sat in a

wheelchair and what you discover straightaway is that all the routes

and the places that were accessible to you yesterday are not today. Now,

this wheelchair, it's as good as you can get, four`wheel drive,

four`wheel steer, but a lot of the places you simply cannot get to

because you cannot get past kissing gates and stiles and steps like

that. The Trans Pennine Trail is reputedly one of the most accessible

trails in England, it's 215 miles, coast`to`coast, but what we have

found is that there are lots of narrow kissing gates that you cannot

get through. You know the A`frames, which are put up to stop motorbikes,

some of them I cannot get through, some of them I need a toolkit with

me to take the arms of the wheelchair to get through. Lots of

obstacles like that, really. It is amazing how much the human spirit

adapts, I think, really. Out of my wheelchair, I never thought I would

say this, I'm actually happier in my wheelchair than out of it because

out of it life is such a struggle, you have to pull yourself up stairs

etc. So it has been a profound life change but the wheelchair basically

is my freedom. I am sure they will do us proud.

Two of our sides were in action in Super League this afternoon.

Wakefield lost 36`4 at home to Warrington. Castleford's strong

start to the season continued with a 34`22 win against Widnes.

In cricket ` the Battle of the Roses has begun at Headingley in the

County Championship. Play eventually got underway this afternoon after

all the rain. Yorkshire put Lancashire into bat. The visitors

reached 87 for 2 at the close. And don't forget today's other

results from the European elections. We'll find out tonight who

Good evening, we will see some showers continuing for some time

this evening but they will dig hobby as we go through the night. We have

been met with some clear spells and perhaps patches of mist and fog with

temperatures around eight or nine degrees. It should be mostly dry for

the morning on Monday but as we head into the afternoon we could see one

or two showers picking up in places and they could be heavy.
