Good evening. evening on the BBC News Channel

:00:15.:00:16.

There's been a large fire at one of South Yorkshire's biggest elployers,

:00:17.:00:19.

More than 60 firefighters wdre called to tackle the blaze

:00:20.:00:23.

at the company's warehouse in Grimethorpe, near Barnsldy.

:00:24.:00:24.

Initial investigations have revealed that

:00:25.:00:26.

The company's temporarily stopped taking orders.

:00:27.:00:31.

Staff arriving at the ASOS site this morning were

:00:32.:00:33.

sent home again as investig`tions into the fire continue.

:00:34.:00:35.

We've just arrived now and we see that the site is closed.

:00:36.:00:38.

We just want to take our clothes, mobile phones and that's it,

:00:39.:00:41.

We now wait for another instruction as to when we start work ag`in.

:00:42.:00:46.

Emergency crews were called to the warehouse near Grimethorpe just

:00:47.:00:48.

Around 60 firefighters attended the scene,

:00:49.:00:51.

several floors containing mhllions of boxes of clothes were alhght

:00:52.:00:58.

The fire was started on the second floor and quickly spread to the

:00:59.:01:02.

By the time it got to the fourth floor it was quite an intense fire.

:01:03.:01:07.

The firefighters had very dhfficult conditions in which to fight the

:01:08.:01:10.

Luckily nobody was hurt but it is believed

:01:11.:01:16.

A cigarette lighter has been recovered from the second floor of

:01:17.:01:19.

ASOS is one of South Yorkshhre's biggest employers but recently

:01:20.:01:24.

Last night's fire is estimated to have caused millions

:01:25.:01:28.

In a statement today, the online fashion retailer says it has stopped

:01:29.:01:35.

taking orders while the extdnt of the damage is investigatdd.

:01:36.:01:44.

As you might have just heard, the Sheffield MP, David Blunkett,

:01:45.:01:46.

has announced he will step down at the next general election.

:01:47.:01:49.

The Brightside MP has spent nearly 50 years in politics.

:01:50.:01:51.

The former Home Secretary s`ys he backs Ed Miliband but if Labour

:01:52.:01:54.

doesn't win the election next year, it might not win again for 05 years.

:01:55.:01:57.

James Vincent has this exclusive television intervhew.

:01:58.:02:05.

Before he was helping run the country, he was running Sheffield.

:02:06.:02:09.

Mr Blunkett says after 45 ydars of listening

:02:10.:02:12.

and helping people with thehr problems, it is time for hil to go.

:02:13.:02:17.

Despite disagreements with leader Ed Miliband, he says his departure

:02:18.:02:20.

has nothing to do with the direction his party is going in.

:02:21.:02:27.

There is only one alternative to the Conservatives from next year

:02:28.:02:29.

and that is a Labour`led government with Ed Miliband in Downing Street.

:02:30.:02:35.

But he does have a strong w`rning for Labour as it goes into 2015

:02:36.:02:39.

If we do not win the election in May next year,

:02:40.:02:42.

The changes that the Conservatives would bring in would be dev`stating.

:02:43.:02:50.

Mr Blunkett says his biggest success is breaking down the barriers for

:02:51.:02:52.

people with disabilities and getting local people involved in politics.

:02:53.:02:59.

Finally, Mr Blunkett, are you going to miss it?

:03:00.:03:03.

I am going to miss it terribly, I am going to miss the local comlunity

:03:04.:03:06.

meetings, the way in which people in my own constituency, my beloved

:03:07.:03:10.

Sheffield, actually give yot the most hard time imaginable and then

:03:11.:03:12.

put their arm around you and make sure you know that they are

:03:13.:03:16.

there supporting you even if they disagree.

:03:17.:03:23.

The People's Republic of South Yorkshire, as it becale known,

:03:24.:03:25.

gave us our current crop of South Yorkshire MPs

:03:26.:03:28.

but soon that group will not include the one that rose the highest.

:03:29.:03:31.

:03:44.:03:46.

He was taken to hospital for treatment

:03:47.:03:50.

In Rugby League, Huddersfield Giants have beaten London Broncos `t home.

:03:51.:03:57.

The 38`22 win was the Giants' eighth win in nine Super League matches.

Our own Joe Root's been unable to recreate the form he's had recently

Good evening. Another fine day to come tomorrow. A pleasant end to

:04:14.:04:29.

today with sunny spells and it is looking fine and dry this evening

:04:30.:04:32.

and overnight with clear spdlls . Not a particularly cool night but

:04:33.:04:35.

out in the countryside tempdratures could slip back to single fhgures,

:04:36.:04:38.

peak performance. Plenty of sunshine peak performance. Plenty of sunshine

:04:39.:04:52.

to begin with, the cloud will bubble up and it will become partlx cloudy

:04:53.:04:54.

but staying fine and dry. For the majority of the British

:04:55.:05:18.

Isles, today has wrought long spells of warm sunshine and it is the

:05:19.:05:22.

longest day. There is plenty more to come this evening, and yet more on

:05:23.:05:27.

the cards for tomorrow. For many of us, the changes between today and

:05:28.:05:31.

tomorrow are very slight. Northern Scotland has been an exception.

:05:32.:05:35.

Tonight, thick cloud is pushing in here again. Rain in the Highland and

:05:36.:05:42.

crossing into the Murray for by dawn. -- the Moret Firth.

:05:43.:05:47.

For northern Scotland, great prospects again on Sunday. If

:05:48.:05:53.

anything, some heavier and more persistent rain. For the south,

:05:54.:06:03.

though, plenty of sunshine. And once again across England and Wales,

:06:04.:06:06.

sparkling skies and as the sun comes up, temperatures will start to rise

:06:07.:06:11.

appropriately. For northern Scotland, the presence
