Good evening and welcome to Look North.

It's been a day to make Yorkshire proud.

It's estimated one million people have lined the streets and lillions

And, as you may have seen, ht ended in dramatic fashion with Mark

But it's still been an incredible day.

Some of the biggest crowds were right here in Harrogatd.

This was the Stray just before the cyclists arrived

Of course it all began in Leeds city centre this morning.

It's estimated a quarter of a million people were thdre.

And Yorkshire provided an incredible back drop for the rest of the race.

Thousands gathered for one of the most gruelling parts

The Raiders rolled out from Leeds and they were met with tens of

thousands of fans. The Raiddrs seemed incredibly relaxed when they

chatted with the Duke and Dtchess of Cambridge before going on their way.

We had to be there because ht might never be here again. It inspires

people to know about differdnt people to know about differdnt

cultures and things. Everyone is astounded. It is incredible. Is blue

and the sun is shining and stop it is fabulous. We have come from

Somerset to watch it. We have had great weekend. I would like to race.

But it is only men racing in the Tour de France. What did thdy make

of it in Skipton? What a wonderful day it has been here. They reckon

20,000 or so people lined the route through the town 's streets. We were

here at seven o'clock this lorning. We have had six hours for the bid

has been fun. Seeing the Rahders go past, it was really good. It came to

Skipton and it was all over in 0 seconds. Fantastic. Exciting. It

will not happen again. Fant`stic. Lovely. It was worth the waht. Thank

you very much. It does not get better than this. It has bedn a

massive event for our cities. But the towns and villages have seen a

special time as well. They `re all getting very excited here.

One of those was West Tanfidld near Ripon, which not only had the

to watch a cycle race was that they did not know that they would also

get a surprise royal visit. Prince William, Prince Harry and K`te

arrived by helicopter. They went around to meet people and tried the

has taken one year to prepare. The memories will last much longer. Mark

an ambulance. Let us not forget that Yorkshire is the other bit of the

story and it was fantastic. We are grateful for everyone who ttrned out

to supporters. It is a sign of the towns of British Cycling and where

it has got to. Yorkshire deserves it special mention because the way the

communities have come together to celebrate this race and givd us such

a warm welcome has been amazing We are privileged to be part of it

Hundreds of thousands of people have been travelling around Yorkshire

Some spectators hoping to travel to Harrogate faced severe delaxs

at Leeds station earlier thhs afternoon.
