Our top story tonight: for news where you are. | :00:00. | :00:00.
Out of business - after 80 years, Yorkshire's Ritz is forced | :00:00. | :00:07.
to close its doors after a row with its London namesake. | :00:08. | :00:10.
I can't believe anybody has ever mistaken a ballroom in west | :00:11. | :00:26.
Yorkshire for one of the most famous hotels in the world in London. | :00:27. | :00:28.
We'll find out if there's a legal case to answer. | :00:29. | :00:30.
Also on the programme, a family fighting for justice. | :00:31. | :00:32.
Ten years after he was knocked down in a hit-and-run accident, | :00:33. | :00:35.
police make a fresh appeal to find Bill Hendry's killer. | :00:36. | :00:38.
In sport, kick-off at a Challenge Cup match. | :00:39. | :00:41.
Footage emerges of a fight at a Keighley Cougars game. | :00:42. | :00:47.
And the Harrogate girl providing a re-homing service | :00:48. | :00:52.
An unsettled, cold and often changeable week as we head | :00:53. | :00:55.
Don't forget to join me for that week ahead forecast. | :00:56. | :01:09.
After 80 years, the Ritz Ballroom in Brighouse | :01:10. | :01:14.
has closed its door, as a result of a legal row | :01:15. | :01:16.
with the world famous Ritz Hotel in London. | :01:17. | :01:18.
The Yorkshire landmark was told it had to change its name, | :01:19. | :01:21.
even though it had traded under this name for eight decades. | :01:22. | :01:26.
Now a band from Harrogate, which was due to play at the venue, | :01:27. | :01:29.
has waded into the legal row, as our business correspondent | :01:30. | :01:31.
hope that someone gets my message in a bottle #. | :01:32. | :01:49.
The lyrics to say one thing but this band used an envelope to send their | :01:50. | :01:53.
message to the hotel in London, a tongue in cheek invoice. | :01:54. | :02:03.
Failure to comply will result in us having to slum it at the Savoy | :02:04. | :02:09.
Hotel, not the cabbage but the hotel. | :02:10. | :02:14.
They were due to perform at the Brighouse Ritz but a breath of legal | :02:15. | :02:18.
action by the London hotel forced the venue to close. | :02:19. | :02:23.
It is farcical. There are 300 miles between the two venues and I cannot | :02:24. | :02:28.
believe anybody has ever mistaken a ballroom in west Yorkshire for one | :02:29. | :02:31.
of the most famous hotels in the world in London. But that was what | :02:32. | :02:38.
prompted us to write the letter, the absurdity. | :02:39. | :02:43.
It has been the Ritz for 80 years, so the new owners never expected a | :02:44. | :02:49.
row over the names, and could potentially call time. From the | :02:50. | :02:53.
roadside it looks like it is all over, since the sign is down and the | :02:54. | :02:57.
venue has stopped trading, but behind the scenes the owners say | :02:58. | :03:00.
they are seeking legal advice. Although they would not speak on | :03:01. | :03:03.
camera today, they call me they have not given up the fight just yet. The | :03:04. | :03:09.
other Ritz has so far declined to comment but one local and he is | :03:10. | :03:13.
hopeful he can intervene. As we know, there are many with the | :03:14. | :03:20.
name Ritz across the UK, ballrooms and cafes, as with the one in | :03:21. | :03:25.
Brighouse, so I cannot quite understand why they would want to | :03:26. | :03:30.
attack the Ritz in Brighouse. But we have asked the owner to supply us | :03:31. | :03:36.
with the documents, and I am happy to look into it. | :03:37. | :03:40.
Thousands of people who have already signed the petition to save the name | :03:41. | :03:44.
Hobbit is not already too late for the Brighouse Ritz. -- they hope it | :03:45. | :03:48.
is not too late. So where can the Ritz in Brighouse | :03:49. | :03:50.
take the legal battle now? We're joined by Liz Ward | :03:51. | :03:53.
from Virtuoso Legal, which specialises in | :03:54. | :03:54.
intellectual property law. Do you think that the Ritz in | :03:55. | :04:04.
Brighouse is right to take this step? | :04:05. | :04:06.
They should start training again because they are being bullied. They | :04:07. | :04:11.
have used it for 80 years, the name, and I think they should carry on | :04:12. | :04:15.
using it because they have prior rights. | :04:16. | :04:18.
Do you have advised by them? This period of time, how long should it | :04:19. | :04:21.
be? It is difficult to know because we | :04:22. | :04:24.
do not know the back story, and it maybe they are in negotiations to | :04:25. | :04:28.
differentiate themselves from the Ritz in London, although I would not | :04:29. | :04:33.
have got that would be to do. They have obviously taken that choice and | :04:34. | :04:37.
they are perhaps doing some negotiations with the Ritz in | :04:38. | :04:41.
London. It seems ridiculous. Surely the Ritz | :04:42. | :04:44.
in London is big enough to realise that there are hotels and other | :04:45. | :04:49.
things named the Ritz all over the place. | :04:50. | :04:53.
Ritz has been a popular name for venues and dance venues, and there | :04:54. | :04:59.
is one in Manchester. The Ritz in London on the recently dead their | :05:00. | :05:03.
trademark so I do not not understand. -- they recently updated | :05:04. | :05:07.
their trademark. That bank made a nice joke about the | :05:08. | :05:11.
Savoy cabbage but they are asking for compensation from the Ritz in | :05:12. | :05:18.
London. -- that band. It is a funny letter and I agree | :05:19. | :05:24.
that it has interfered with their performances. | :05:25. | :05:28.
There are rumours that Brighouse Ritz will reopen soon, so can they | :05:29. | :05:32.
recover from this? Has been a setback or quite good for them? | :05:33. | :05:37.
No publicity is bad publicity, and that's what I would say. I hope they | :05:38. | :05:41.
do reopen because I would like to see venues like this continue and it | :05:42. | :05:44.
would be a shame if they were pushed out by the big boys. | :05:45. | :05:45.
Thank you. Next tonight, the family | :05:46. | :05:47.
of a North Yorkshire man killed in a hit-and-run crash ten years ago | :05:48. | :05:49.
is appealing for help 75-year-old Bill Hendry was knocked | :05:50. | :05:52.
down while walking his The person responsible still hasn't | :05:53. | :05:55.
come forward and hasn't been found. They could never have imagined | :05:56. | :06:00.
they would still be trying to get justice ten years on, | :06:01. | :06:07.
but today the family of Bill Hendry returned to the spot | :06:08. | :06:10.
where he was knocked down and killed The driver did not stop | :06:11. | :06:13.
and left in the road. We are not seeking revenge | :06:14. | :06:22.
or anything like that, we just want a bit of justice, | :06:23. | :06:27.
and somebody do have the courage to either say, I know who's done it, | :06:28. | :06:31.
or the person who's done it. I have lived in Knaresborough | :06:32. | :06:36.
since 1968, and I walk around knowing that | :06:37. | :06:38.
somebody has done it. Bill's beloved dog Abby ran home | :06:39. | :06:41.
after he was hit and was found waiting on the doorstep | :06:42. | :06:49.
of their house. Bill died in hospital | :06:50. | :06:51.
a short time later. Can I just give you one | :06:52. | :06:55.
of these, please? Police admit there are no new lines | :06:56. | :06:57.
of investigation, so this morning officers were stopping motorists | :06:58. | :07:04.
to try to get fresh information. Bill Hendry had just | :07:05. | :07:08.
been to the post office. He was crossing Stockwell Lane here | :07:09. | :07:11.
with his dog Abby when he was hit. Now, it was just after | :07:12. | :07:16.
9:30am in the morning. But, although people nearby | :07:17. | :07:18.
told police they heard the collision, no one saw | :07:19. | :07:23.
the vehicle involved. Does the family have | :07:24. | :07:27.
confidence that you will get If they hadn't had the courage then, | :07:28. | :07:29.
will they have the courage now? knows who's done it | :07:30. | :07:39.
to do the decent thing. Police say the person | :07:40. | :07:48.
who hit Bill Hendry was driving a car or small van, | :07:49. | :07:51.
and was travelling at speed. They will have known exactly | :07:52. | :07:55.
what happened and the vehicle Detectives believe this | :07:56. | :07:58.
is their last chance to catch them. Emma Glasbey, | :07:59. | :08:03.
BBC Look North, Knaresborough. I wish the family all the best with | :08:04. | :08:10.
that latest campaign. Still on the way before 7.00: | :08:11. | :08:15.
Remembering the King of Clubs. We'll meet the author of a new book, | :08:16. | :08:17.
which celebrates the man who brought There are warnings that hill farmers | :08:18. | :08:21.
in Yorkshire are facing tough times Some farmers say the financial | :08:22. | :08:28.
uncertainty of the industry has been made worse with Brexit | :08:29. | :08:33.
and the future of EU agricultural For tonight's Inside Out, | :08:34. | :08:37.
Paul Hudson's been to meet a farmer The Yorkshire Dales, | :08:38. | :08:42.
a land of breathtaking beauty, If you had to eke out | :08:43. | :08:47.
a living from this terrain, you may take a less romantic view | :08:48. | :08:53.
of its charms. To add to his income | :08:54. | :08:58.
as a sheep farmer, The hours are long and the work | :08:59. | :09:11.
is hard but the economics of the business has | :09:12. | :09:16.
never been tougher. It is very dependent on the food | :09:17. | :09:18.
policy that needs to be developed by our Government for post-Brexit | :09:19. | :09:21.
times, because if they do go down the road of cutting subsidies | :09:22. | :09:24.
to farmers across the country, that drives farmers to food | :09:25. | :09:30.
production on a mass Then we will lose the environmental | :09:31. | :09:32.
benefits that have been created over the last 40 years through subsidies | :09:33. | :09:40.
and we will lose their cheap food, because people will | :09:41. | :09:43.
go out of business. Gary and his wife have had to look | :09:44. | :09:48.
at ways of making the land pay They hope this field will be open | :09:49. | :09:51.
as a campsite this year. The need for an | :09:52. | :09:55.
alternative was huge. We have two children, | :09:56. | :09:58.
one that we are trying It was a necessity because we were | :09:59. | :10:00.
looking at such a dramatic On top of running a farm full-time | :10:01. | :10:05.
and Gillian working as a nurse, they are having to ponder pricing, | :10:06. | :10:13.
promotion and how to operate at Farmers are not alone in facing | :10:14. | :10:17.
post-Brexit uncertainty but without EU subsidies to make | :10:18. | :10:23.
food production viable, there Farming in the Dales | :10:24. | :10:27.

report on Inside Out Tributes are being paid | :10:33. | :10:37.
to the Leeds-born MP Sir Gerald Kaufman, who's died | :10:38. | :10:43.
at the age of 86 He was educated at Leeds Grammar | :10:44. | :10:46.
School and worked as a journalist, before he was elected | :10:47. | :10:51.
to parliament in 1970. He became Britain's | :10:52. | :10:54.
longest-serving Labour MP. Jeremy Corbyn said he was | :10:55. | :10:58.
an "iconic and irascible figure" within the party, while Tony Blair | :10:59. | :11:00.
described him as passionate Two further arrests have | :11:01. | :11:02.
been made after a man 23-year-old Aseel Al-Essaie | :11:03. | :11:10.
was attacked in the Upperthorpe area Two people were arrested earlier | :11:11. | :11:16.
today after armed police stopped Five people who were previously | :11:17. | :11:21.
arrested in connection with the murder investigation have | :11:22. | :11:25.
been released on bail. The first-ever Leeds International | :11:26. | :11:29.
Festival has been launched today. The eight-day event will see stars | :11:30. | :11:32.
from film, fashion and music putting on shows in the city in the last | :11:33. | :11:37.
week of April. Highlights will include | :11:38. | :11:40.
one of music's hottest stars of the moment, | :11:41. | :11:42.
Rag'N'Bone Man, as part An international festival can really | :11:43. | :11:45.
put a place on the map, and what we are doing, | :11:46. | :11:51.
we have brought together people from the music, | :11:52. | :11:53.
people from the moving image, and people from tech, | :11:54. | :11:56.
to really collaborate and really put a great festival on for the city | :11:57. | :11:59.
that really showcases Independent traders in Rotherham | :12:00. | :12:01.
are warning of consequences if a town centre branch of Tesco's | :12:02. | :12:12.
starts charging for parking. The store wants people who shop | :12:13. | :12:15.
with them to pay at least ?5 to qualify for a stay | :12:16. | :12:18.
in their car park. Stallholders at the market next door | :12:19. | :12:22.
say the change in policy could drive shoppers away | :12:23. | :12:24.
from Rotherham altogether. A brisk Monday morning's trade | :12:25. | :12:26.
at Tesco Extra in Rotherham. If the store get their way, | :12:27. | :12:32.
in future, you will have to shop But it takes more than one shop | :12:33. | :12:35.
to make a high street, and news of the proposed charges has | :12:36. | :12:45.
not gone down well amongst traders and shoppers | :12:46. | :12:48.
and the market next door. According to a lot of customers that | :12:49. | :12:53.
have been, they have been telling us that once they put charges | :12:54. | :12:56.
on they are not coming We're going to have to look | :12:57. | :12:59.
for somewhere else, but we have got a disabled child in a wheelchair | :13:00. | :13:03.
as well, so that's ideal I do shopping in there, but I know | :13:04. | :13:05.
there's quite a people that say Small traders feed off the footfall | :13:06. | :13:10.
and towns like Rotherham That's what brings | :13:11. | :13:14.
the diversity to the town. They are not all led by the hook | :13:15. | :13:17.
in the nose by Tesco. Retail consultant Mary Portas | :13:18. | :13:25.
was part of a coalition Government project to revitalise | :13:26. | :13:31.
Rotherham's shopping offer. The town has won plaudits | :13:32. | :13:34.
for its unique mix of Tesco have asked the council | :13:35. | :13:37.
for a change to their planning consent, which will in turn allow | :13:38. | :13:42.
them to introduce parking charges. Tesco have told us in a statement | :13:43. | :13:46.
that they are planning to make these changes as a direct result | :13:47. | :13:50.
of customer demand, and pressure The council say any decision | :13:51. | :13:52.
on changes to the planning consent can only take place after a period | :13:53. | :13:58.
of public consultation, which will They've warned Tesco | :13:59. | :14:02.
that if they make any changes before then, | :14:03. | :14:06.
they will be in breach The store have removed signs saying | :14:07. | :14:08.
that charges weren't due to be -- the Saints had said that the | :14:09. | :14:24.
charges were in place but they have been removed. | :14:25. | :14:27.
Tanya's here with the weekend's sport, | :14:28. | :14:28.
starting with a bit of a punch-up at the rugby league. | :14:29. | :14:31.
The RFL says it's looking into what happened during | :14:32. | :14:33.
a Challenge Cup match on Saturday between Fryston Warriors | :14:34. | :14:35.
Footage has emerged on social media which appears to show a Keighley | :14:36. | :14:39.
player being surrounded and attacked on the touchline by | :14:40. | :14:41.
several Fryston players - you can see punches being thrown. | :14:42. | :14:45.
Keighley have released a statement, saying their player Emmerson Whittle | :14:46. | :14:47.
sustained a broken jaw and Josh Lynam had his ear | :14:48. | :14:50.
Whittle says it'll be six to eight weeks before | :14:51. | :14:56.
Fryston though say this has been blown out of proportion, | :14:57. | :15:01.
and one of their players suffered a broken jaw as well. | :15:02. | :15:04.
For the record, Keighley won the match by 50-32. | :15:05. | :15:09.
Rugby League's new transatlantic side, the Toronto Wolfpack, | :15:10. | :15:11.
The Wolfpack beat West Yorkshire amateur side Siddal 14-6 | :15:12. | :15:17.
in the third round of the Challenge Cup. | :15:18. | :15:21.
The victory was thanks to tries by Ryan Burroughs, | :15:22. | :15:23.
Greg Worthington and this score by Adam Sidlow. | :15:24. | :15:27.
The draw for the fourth round is on the website | :15:28. | :15:30.
And you can see all the weekend's Super League action tonight | :15:31. | :15:33.
after Match of the Day two at 11.30 here on BBC One. | :15:34. | :15:43.
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk says his team deserved a 1-0 victory | :15:44. | :15:46.
against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, despite their opponents | :15:47. | :15:49.
missing a penalty which would have levelled the score. | :15:50. | :15:52.
Owls boss Carlos Carvalhal says he's to blame for the defeat, | :15:53. | :15:56.
Two clubs locked together on 58 points - | :15:57. | :16:03.
two sets of fans hoping they will be applauding promotion in May. | :16:04. | :16:07.
Leeds struck early as Vincent Sasso seemed to duck under the ball. | :16:08. | :16:11.
Chris Wood left him acres of space and the finish was simple. | :16:12. | :16:17.
Then it was a story of two penalty appeals. | :16:18. | :16:19.
Nothing given for this, but Souleymane Doukara's push on | :16:20. | :16:24.
Jordan Rhodes found his route to the goal blocked, though, | :16:25. | :16:28.
and it's Leeds who march on to fourth in the table. | :16:29. | :16:31.
You can see clearly today how committed the players | :16:32. | :16:34.
are to delivering a performance that our fans can enjoy, | :16:35. | :16:36.
We were the most creative team on the pitch, and I think, overall, | :16:37. | :16:40.
the way we defended and the way we attacked, | :16:41. | :16:42.
In the day's other Yorkshire derby, Michael Hefele headed Huddersfield | :16:43. | :16:46.
Marley Watkins equalised on the volley. | :16:47. | :16:50.
Perhaps keeper Danny Ward would have done better. | :16:51. | :16:53.
Town pushed forward, but some brilliant Barnsley defending | :16:54. | :16:55.
Sheffield United extended their lead at the top of League 1, | :16:56. | :17:01.
Mark Beevers' defending needed more teeth as he let the ball slipped | :17:02. | :17:06.
And when David Wheater had a nibble at Carruthers, | :17:07. | :17:13.
up stepped Sharp again to blunt Bolton's resistance. | :17:14. | :17:17.
Bradford delivered after beating Port Vale 2-1. | :17:18. | :17:24.
The opener was headed by Romain Vancelot, | :17:25. | :17:28.
and Alex Jones, who played for Port Vale until January, | :17:29. | :17:30.
came back to haunt his old crowd with the winner. | :17:31. | :17:33.
And in League 2 Doncaster took on Accrington Stanley. | :17:34. | :17:35.
Well, they are fighting relegation but they left | :17:36. | :17:38.
Tommy Rowe and John Marquis got the home side's goals. | :17:39. | :17:41.
Rovers still three points clear at the top. | :17:42. | :17:43.
Elsewhere, Rotherham and Chesterfield both lost and find | :17:44. | :17:48.
themselves well adrift in the relegation zone. | :17:49. | :17:50.
Meanwhile Huddersfield head coach David Wagner has been given | :17:51. | :17:53.
a two-match touchline ban after an altercation with Leeds boss | :17:54. | :17:55.
Monk has been banned for one game, and both clubs have been fined. | :17:56. | :18:05.
In boxing, it wasn't to be for Doncaster's Gavin McDonnell, | :18:06. | :18:08.
who lost his world title chance on a points decision | :18:09. | :18:10.
He gave a good showing but lost out on the WBC belt to Mexican | :18:11. | :18:16.
McDonnell had hoped to emulate his twin brother Jamie, | :18:17. | :18:21.
He battled over 12 rounds, but lost in what was only his 19th | :18:22. | :18:26.
He was just slightly better in just about every department, | :18:27. | :18:32.
He wouldn't let me pin him, and when I did pin him, | :18:33. | :18:38.
But, at the end of the day, I did everything I could. | :18:39. | :18:42.
I put it all in there, and I know I got beaten, | :18:43. | :18:46.
and I am disappointed by that, but I can hold my head high. | :18:47. | :18:50.
Yorkshire triple Olympic rowing champion Andrew Triggs-Hodge has | :18:51. | :19:00.
The 37-year-old from Hebden was part of the Great Britain crews that won | :19:01. | :19:04.
gold in the coxless fours at the Beijing and London Olympics, | :19:05. | :19:06.
before helping the men's eight to victory in Rio last summer. | :19:07. | :19:09.
Triggs-Hodge also won one European and four world titles. | :19:10. | :19:20.
He has done very well. Thank you. | :19:21. | :19:24.
It's nearly 50 years since James and Betty Corrigan brought the world | :19:25. | :19:27.
At one time the Batley Variety Club was the biggest nightclub | :19:28. | :19:31.
The venue only closed down last year, but in its heyday it attracted | :19:32. | :19:35.
huge names like Eartha Kitt, Louis Armstrong and Dame Shirley | :19:36. | :19:38.
Bassey, and it put the town well and truly on the map. | :19:39. | :19:44.
Maureen Prest worked at the Varieties, and has also | :19:45. | :19:46.
written a book called The King Of Clubs about James' role | :19:47. | :19:49.
You were at the club in its heyday from when it first opened. | :19:50. | :20:01.
Yes. They must have fond memories of | :20:02. | :20:04.
there. I have lots of memories. | :20:05. | :20:10.
A Leicester 's, lots of them. When James went to America to try to | :20:11. | :20:20.
get the a- Leicesters, the agencies in America, they had no idea where | :20:21. | :20:25.
they were talking about. -- A-listers. One of them pulled out a | :20:26. | :20:29.
map and set point on the map where Batley is, and to his embarrassment, | :20:30. | :20:35.
he could not find Batley on the map. But the Americans came over anyway. | :20:36. | :20:40.
There were some stars they're like Shirley Bassey. I saw her at the | :20:41. | :20:48.
club and I was told that she was difficult at times. | :20:49. | :20:51.
She was. She had many needs, let's put it that way. She had to have | :20:52. | :21:01.
special hooks for her long gowns that she performed in. And she | :21:02. | :21:07.
wanted... No food to be served while she was performing. | :21:08. | :21:11.
The trouble was that at the end of it all these stars cost too much | :21:12. | :21:14.
money and that was the end of it. Yes, it was. They burst the bubble. | :21:15. | :21:20.
How much were they getting? Any idea of the costs? | :21:21. | :21:27.
Louis Armstrong, we ended up paying him 10,000. | :21:28. | :21:30.
A mega amount. In those days, we were getting ?20 | :21:31. | :21:36.
per week wage, so you imagine... And then all of the expenses of bringing | :21:37. | :21:41.
the jazzmen with him. What a wonderful world. | :21:42. | :21:46.
You have wonderful stories about Louis Armstrong. | :21:47. | :21:50.
When we saw him on film, he was a big man, but when he came to Batley | :21:51. | :22:01.
he had lost a lot of weight. He had diet sheets with little stapled | :22:02. | :22:06.
sashays of... It was a her, he said it was a her he was using for his | :22:07. | :22:14.
diet. We thought, we will go on this diet because he was so slim. We were | :22:15. | :22:19.
drinking this tea, and then before long, what he forgot to tell us, it | :22:20. | :22:24.
was a laxative. It went through you quickly? | :22:25. | :22:28.
It did. Of these memoirs are in a book about | :22:29. | :22:35.
James, so what is special about him? He had charisma to eclipse the sun. | :22:36. | :22:40.
He could charm anyone. It had no great surprise that he got people to | :22:41. | :22:43.
do what he wanted, because he had a way with him. | :22:44. | :22:48.
Who was the biggest art of all of them? | :22:49. | :22:50.
Where would I start to tell you who was the biggest? All of the stars | :22:51. | :22:58.
came to Batley. They loved the warm welcome, because they were all made | :22:59. | :23:03.
welcome. They were not treated as special. | :23:04. | :23:05.
Lovely talking to you. The book is out on March 20 seven. -- March 27. | :23:06. | :23:11.
Now, if you're a parent, you'll probably identify with this - | :23:12. | :23:14.
what do you do with the mountain of cuddly toys, once your children | :23:15. | :23:17.
Well, a schoolgirl from Harrogate's come up with the perfect solution - | :23:18. | :23:21.
And she's already re-homed teddies from Dorset to Derbyshire. | :23:22. | :23:24.
Anna Crossley's been to meet Scarlett, and some of her teddies. | :23:25. | :23:31.
What started off as a teddy stall at a local church soon became | :23:32. | :23:35.
And within a few days, this house in Harrogate was bursting | :23:36. | :23:45.
It was just like an idea that popped into my head, because I'd wanted | :23:46. | :23:50.
So, my dad built me a website and then it just kind | :23:51. | :23:57.
Initially, Scarlett just wanted to get rid of her old teddies | :23:58. | :24:01.
But she was soon inundated with everyone else's cuddly toys. | :24:02. | :24:09.
So she decided to set up an adoption website, | :24:10. | :24:12.
where unwanted bears and bunnies could be rehomed for a small | :24:13. | :24:16.
She has really embraced the challenge and enjoyed it | :24:17. | :24:22.
and she has learned a lot along the way. | :24:23. | :24:24.
It has been a busy half-term for her. | :24:25. | :24:26.
And in the process, she has raised the money for a worthy cause. | :24:27. | :24:29.
And we have had bags and bags of donations. | :24:30. | :24:34.
Once the stuffed animals arrive, they are washed and preened, | :24:35. | :24:36.
ready to be photographed and put up for adoption. | :24:37. | :24:40.
The only problem is there are so many of them. | :24:41. | :24:44.
What has been the most difficult thing about all these teddies? | :24:45. | :24:49.
Well, you didn't think I would leave without one, did you? | :24:50. | :25:01.
That is a nice idea. I have some of those that could be added to the | :25:02. | :25:19.
collection. Now here is the birthday boy and you | :25:20. | :25:23.
are not wearing the time, for my present. | :25:24. | :25:27.
Are you winding up the viewers about me not wearing a tie? | :25:28. | :25:32.
It looks smart. Let's get on with the details. | :25:33. | :25:37.
Firstly a warning of widespread ice later tonight as sky is clear and | :25:38. | :25:41.
moisture on the road. Tomorrow's forecast, unsettled. | :25:42. | :25:45.
Some showers later on and some wintry. Low-pressure in charge and | :25:46. | :25:51.
showers and longer spells of rain spinning in from the West. This | :25:52. | :25:56.
feature Wednesday night could be interesting, with a spell of hill | :25:57. | :25:58.
snow over higher ground of the Pennines. Western areas have cleared | :25:59. | :26:02.
nicely and there has been range was because of the last hour or two. | :26:03. | :26:07.
That will move into the North Sea. Left with clear spells and scattered | :26:08. | :26:11.
showers and some wintry over the hills. The main issue tonight will | :26:12. | :26:15.
be ice towards the end of the night, temperatures down to around | :26:16. | :26:21.
freezing, 32 Fahrenheit. The sun rises at 6:58am, next high water | :26:22. | :26:27.
time in Scarborough ten past 5am. One to showers possible in the West. | :26:28. | :26:32.
Watch out by that I is right with sunshine. Does showers frequent | :26:33. | :26:37.
later in the morning. A band of rain pushes eastwards through the | :26:38. | :26:40.
afternoon. Not reaching the coast until late tomorrow afternoon, and | :26:41. | :26:44.
into tomorrow evening. Cold and windy. We will see top Rogers | :26:45. | :26:50.
tomorrow around seven Celsius. 45 Fahrenheit. -- top temperatures. For | :26:51. | :26:55.
Wednesday, head, an improvement temporarily. Rain and hail still | :26:56. | :27:01.
possible Wednesday night, then Thursday and improving picture, | :27:02. | :27:05.
uncertainty but Friday could be more rain coming in spreading from the | :27:06. | :27:08.
south-west. That is tonight's forecast. | :27:09. | :27:13.
You brought in a massive box of chocolates for the whole newsroom, | :27:14. | :27:22.
sell by date, March the 1st 2016. But they were miniature heroes! | :27:23. | :27:25.
Enjoy the rest of your evening. Bye-bye. | :27:26. | :27:54.
To be in the Lords, you have to be punctual... | :27:55. | :27:57.
literally have to slam the door in somebody's face. | :27:58. | :28:01.
What right do they have to tell ME about my fashion sense. | :28:02. | :28:05.
Can you now control your bad language? Yes, I will. | :28:06. | :28:11.
Otherwise you'll be, you know, drummed out. | :28:12. | :28:13.
To win on something as important as this | :28:14. | :28:16.
A unique opportunity to meet the Lords. | :28:17. | :28:22. |
