Driving the development of electric cars, | :00:00. | :00:08.
How the region is lagging behind on recharging stations. | :00:09. | :00:13.
It's an industry where we can create tens of thousands | :00:14. | :00:15.
of jobs in the future, but they're not actually putting | :00:16. | :00:17.
the infrastructure in place here in the West Midlands | :00:18. | :00:20.
to actually encourage people to go and drive these cars. | :00:21. | :00:26.
In the past, the Government paid for new charging stations, but now the | :00:27. | :00:31.
private sector and car makers are expected to foot the bill. That is | :00:32. | :00:34.
what is happening at this service area. | :00:35. | :00:35.
Day one in the new job - tackling homelessness and congestion. | :00:36. | :00:39.
Andy Street sets out his priorities as West Midlands Mayor. | :00:40. | :00:42.
I thought the most important thing I'm going to do today | :00:43. | :00:45.
and the tone is about being a leader for all of the West Midlands. | :00:46. | :00:52.
The body in a wardrobe - a man appears in court charged | :00:53. | :00:55.
with preventing the lawful burial of a teenage girl. | :00:56. | :00:59.
The hoard of Roman coins found on land owned by - wait for it - | :01:00. | :01:03.
And with some of you crying out for rain, | :01:04. | :01:09.
we're still holding on to drier conditions | :01:10. | :01:10.
but although yesterday's temperatures may be hard to beat, | :01:11. | :01:14.
There's been a huge surge in the number of electric cars | :01:15. | :01:29.
on the road, but trying to charge them here | :01:30. | :01:32.
The region has among the smallest number | :01:33. | :01:35.
of electric car charging points in the country. | :01:36. | :01:38.
There are 757 in the region, according to the website Zap Map, | :01:39. | :01:42.
compared with 2,750 in London and 1,800 in Scotland. | :01:43. | :01:48.
That's despite this region being at the centre | :01:49. | :01:51.
for research and development into electric vehicles, | :01:52. | :01:53.
with millions of pounds being invested in the industry. | :01:54. | :01:56.
It is widely predicted many more of us | :01:57. | :02:03.
will be driving electric vehicles in just a few years' time. | :02:04. | :02:07.
But, despite being named as a hub for research and development, | :02:08. | :02:10.
it seems the West Midlands has been slow to catch up | :02:11. | :02:12.
when it comes to the infrastructure. | :02:13. | :02:16.
We are very much at the forefront of this electric car revolution, | :02:17. | :02:19.
and it's an industry where we can create tens of thousands of jobs | :02:20. | :02:22.
in the future, but we're not actually putting the infrastructure | :02:23. | :02:24.
to actually encourage people to go and drive these cars. | :02:25. | :02:28.
Rachel Butler and her husband bought two electric cars in February. | :02:29. | :02:33.
She says they have been delighted with them, | :02:34. | :02:35.
I do think the country needs to step up | :02:36. | :02:40.
and probably put more charge points in, | :02:41. | :02:42.
just because I think we're going to go that way. | :02:43. | :02:45.
"I never even thought of buying an electric car." | :02:46. | :02:51.
And now they are considering an electric car. | :02:52. | :02:55.
The average vehicle is able to drive for 100 to 125 miles | :02:56. | :02:58.
Electric cars are changing the way we use our vehicles here in the UK | :02:59. | :03:05.
Instead of popping to the petrol station to fill up, | :03:06. | :03:08.
we will be using these, electric car charging points. | :03:09. | :03:12.
Plug them in, go for a coffee, and we're good to go. | :03:13. | :03:16.
Car dealers in the West Midlands are reporting huge upturns in sales | :03:17. | :03:21.
Going through the years, momentum has gained. | :03:22. | :03:27.
In the last quarter, January to March this year, | :03:28. | :03:30.
Nissan sold more Leafs that they have in any quarter | :03:31. | :03:35.
With sales booming, the irony is this lack of charging points | :03:36. | :03:41.
could end up putting people off buying the very vehicles | :03:42. | :03:44.
our region has played a large part in developing. | :03:45. | :03:52.
Our transport correspondent, Peter Plisner, | :03:53. | :03:53.
is at a motorway service area in Worcestershire this evening, | :03:54. | :03:57.
which has more charging points than most - | :03:58. | :03:59.
thanks to investment from an electric car manufacturer. | :04:00. | :04:02.
Peter, what's being done to provide more charging stations? | :04:03. | :04:11.
I think what is happening is the private sector has been asked to | :04:12. | :04:15.
contribute more. That is why we are seeing car-makers like Tesla | :04:16. | :04:21.
introducing a new network of charging stations for their users. | :04:22. | :04:24.
Of course, if you are a user of any other brand of electric car, you | :04:25. | :04:26.
cannot use these particular stations. There are around 12,000 | :04:27. | :04:32.
stations around the UK at the moment. Those figures provided by | :04:33. | :04:36.
one of the biggest providers of charging stations. They say by | :04:37. | :04:44.
pretty 20 they could be 20,000 across the UK. The country will -- | :04:45. | :04:51.
thing of all grow here as well. Why is the region lacking behind when it | :04:52. | :04:59.
comes to charging stations? It was previously the Government that paid | :05:00. | :05:03.
for new charging stations, but with a shortfall in funding, there has | :05:04. | :05:07.
been a lull. Now there is a growing interest in electric cars, so | :05:08. | :05:11.
questions are being asked about why we have not got so many stations | :05:12. | :05:15.
here in the West Midlands. As I say, that is expected to grow. You have | :05:16. | :05:20.
said there is a growing interest, but will only ship increase in the | :05:21. | :05:23.
next couple of years? It has been pretty slow in the last few years, | :05:24. | :05:28.
but with things like rising fuel prices and those concerns about | :05:29. | :05:33.
emissions from diesel engines, a lot more people are thinking about | :05:34. | :05:35.
electric cars will stop figures I've seen suggest there 100,000 electric | :05:36. | :05:41.
cars on the road at the moment, but that could rise to 1 million by 20 | :05:42. | :05:43.
20. Thank you. Reducing homelessness and tackling | :05:44. | :05:46.
congestion on our roads - by the new West Midlands | :05:47. | :05:48.
Mayor, Andy Street. Our reporter, Ben Godfrey, | :05:49. | :05:52.
has spent the day with him as he got used to the role | :05:53. | :05:54.
of Metro Mayor. A warning his report contains | :05:55. | :05:57.
some flash photography. Here's the man voters have chosen | :05:58. | :05:59.
to grow the West Midlands economy. Good morning. Do I call you Mr | :06:00. | :06:14.
Mayor? You can, or Andy. I have always been added, so why change? Do | :06:15. | :06:18.
you know what you have let yourself in for? I will find out in the next | :06:19. | :06:23.
few years, but I feel confident this morning, if a little daunted by the | :06:24. | :06:24.
scale of the responsibility. Day one, and Andy Street - | :06:25. | :06:26.
businessman turned politician - is back in the board room | :06:27. | :06:28.
with the task of drawing momentum the West Midlands | :06:29. | :06:31.
Combined Authority, overseeing a ?36 million annual | :06:32. | :06:41.
budget. My job is to deliver it with your | :06:42. | :06:44.
help. The Metro Mayor, | :06:45. | :06:46.
who beat Labour's Sion Simon by less than 4,000 votes, | :06:47. | :06:48.
is keen to make alliances. In some constituencies, Labour had | :06:49. | :07:00.
the most boat. How would you make progress in those constituencies? I | :07:01. | :07:06.
was told at the beginning of this campaign, I was to that the Tory | :07:07. | :07:11.
party would do well in all of the areas. I will set a tone, and that | :07:12. | :07:16.
tone is about being a leader for all of the West Midlands. | :07:17. | :07:17.
Tackling congestion is high on the shopping list | :07:18. | :07:19.
Labour were pushing for a nationalisation of the M6told. | :07:20. | :07:37.
There were aspects that we do want to go back to. It is not a closed | :07:38. | :07:42.
mind. We want to deliver, but not on the idea of nationalising the whole | :07:43. | :07:48.
thing. Cutting the price for people? For certain people at certain times, | :07:49. | :07:52.
that is the sort of thing we have to think about. | :07:53. | :07:56.
The prime ministers was one of the first to congratulate the new Metro | :07:57. | :08:00.
Mayor on Saturday. Close ties putting them out and on a sure | :08:01. | :08:05.
footing at the start of his job. The Mayor and the media arrived | :08:06. | :08:10.
at the charity St Basils Another of Andy Street's | :08:11. | :08:13.
top priorties - to bring down | :08:14. | :08:16.
the number of rough sleepers. The power of the mayor to bring | :08:17. | :08:23.
people together with new authority and possibly some new cash, we don't | :08:24. | :08:29.
know that yet, but that is what we are thinking about. Yes, I'm | :08:30. | :08:34.
learning from the experts today. Last autumn, though almost 300 | :08:35. | :08:37.
people across the West Midlands sleeping rough on our streets. It is | :08:38. | :08:41.
most urgent in Birmingham, where the numbers went up by 50% in just one | :08:42. | :08:46.
year. It is the tip of a much bigger iceberg around homelessness. So I | :08:47. | :08:50.
would like to see the map's office support the work that is going on in | :08:51. | :08:54.
terms of funding homelessness, in terms of young people, so we prevent | :08:55. | :08:57.
people being on the street in the first place. | :08:58. | :09:00.
and you get the impression Andy Street has the ambition | :09:01. | :09:04.
and drive to fulfil his election promises. | :09:05. | :09:06.
Some say he'll need it all now his business is politics. | :09:07. | :09:12.
has been campaigning in the Midlands today, | :09:13. | :09:16.
setting out his plans if he became Prime Minister. | :09:17. | :09:19.
In Leamington Spa, he told a crowd that one of his first priorities, | :09:20. | :09:22.
would be to start a programme of housebuilding - | :09:23. | :09:25.
He said Labour wanted an economy and society that "works for all". | :09:26. | :09:33.
We need a serious national initiative | :09:34. | :09:35.
by building for those that need homes, | :09:36. | :09:41.
rather than building for speculative investment | :09:42. | :09:43.
to keep them empty to make more money out of them in the future. | :09:44. | :09:47.
And there's more information about the general election | :09:48. | :09:50.
and who's standing on the BBC's politics pages. | :09:51. | :09:56.
charged with preventing the lawful burial of a teenage girl. | :09:57. | :09:59.
Megan Bills from Stourbridge was found in a wardrobe, | :10:00. | :10:02.
which had been wrapped in cling film, | :10:03. | :10:06.
24-year-old Ashley Foster was remanded in custody, | :10:07. | :10:09.
to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court next month. | :10:10. | :10:12.
Forensic officers removing evidence from the flat | :10:13. | :10:17.
where the remains of 17-year-old Megan Bills | :10:18. | :10:23.
24-year-old Ashley Foster of no fixed address appeared this morning | :10:24. | :10:32.
before Dudley magistrates, charged with preventing a lawful and decent | :10:33. | :10:38.
burial. Police were called to this address last week after neighbours | :10:39. | :10:42.
reported a smell. Inside one of the flats was a double wardrobe, wrapped | :10:43. | :10:47.
in clingfilm. When they opened it, they found the remains of a young | :10:48. | :10:50.
woman. Today, the court was told that that body had been there for a | :10:51. | :10:55.
considerable amount of time, at least a couple of weeks. | :10:56. | :10:57.
Police also discovered a fan in the flat pointing towards a window. | :10:58. | :11:00.
"we are devastated by the loss of our daughter, | :11:01. | :11:03.
whose life has so unnecessarily been cut short. | :11:04. | :11:06.
The building, which is used as a hostel, | :11:07. | :11:10.
is situated in the middle of a residential street, | :11:11. | :11:12.
One man living just a few doors away told me people wanted it gone. | :11:13. | :11:25.
Basically, people want this centre moved from here. If they don't close | :11:26. | :11:34.
this, then I might have no alternative than to move somewhere | :11:35. | :11:37.
else because we don't want the living around this area. | :11:38. | :11:39.
Four days on, the property remains sealed off, | :11:40. | :11:41.
as police continue to investigate how Megan died. | :11:42. | :11:43.
Ashley Foster was remanded in custody | :11:44. | :11:45.
and will appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court next month. | :11:46. | :11:53.
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder | :11:54. | :11:56.
The 26-year-old victim was shot in the arm yesterday evening, | :11:57. | :12:00.
on Northwood Street in the Jewellery Quarter. | :12:01. | :12:02.
He's in a stable condition in hospital. | :12:03. | :12:05.
Two men, aged 21 and 20, were arrested in Hodnet Grove, | :12:06. | :12:08.
part of which remains cordoned off for forensic examination. | :12:09. | :12:16.
A fire at a food wholesalers in Stoke-on-Trent | :12:17. | :12:18.
It broke out at Cater Choice on Portland Street | :12:19. | :12:21.
Police say it was fortunate the building had been emptied | :12:22. | :12:25.
yesterday and that there was nothing valuable inside. | :12:26. | :12:33.
Two men posing as police officers have been trying to lure members | :12:34. | :12:36.
of the public into a stolen unmarked police car, | :12:37. | :12:39.
West Midlands Police have issued a warning | :12:40. | :12:41.
after a female motorist was flagged down | :12:42. | :12:43.
and asked to get into their silver coloured car on Saturday. | :12:44. | :12:46.
Police say it's since been travelling across | :12:47. | :12:47.
A jury has been shown CCTV footage which allegedly shows | :12:48. | :12:53.
a would-be terrorist investigating a storm drain, | :12:54. | :12:56.
close to the main West Coast railway line. | :12:57. | :12:59.
Today the court heard that guerrilla warfare manuals were also found | :13:00. | :13:03.
at the defendant's home in Birmingham, | :13:04. | :13:05.
containing advice about ambushing and derailing trains. | :13:06. | :13:08.
Zahid Hussain denies all the charges, | :13:09. | :13:14.
including preparing for an act of terrorism. | :13:15. | :13:15.
Our special correspondent, Peter Wilson, was in court. | :13:16. | :13:17.
As a Virgin train passes in the early hours of July 2015, | :13:18. | :13:21.
the prosecution claim that a hooded figure seen nearby | :13:22. | :13:24.
was that of Zahid Hussain, a 29-year-old Birmingham man. | :13:25. | :13:27.
Later, CCTV captured a man struggling | :13:28. | :13:31.
to lever up a manhole cover with a crowbar | :13:32. | :13:36.
The prosecution allege the footage shows Mr Hussain investigating | :13:37. | :13:43.
the high-speed stretch of railway as a possible target. | :13:44. | :13:47.
He denies attempting to make a pressure cooker bomb | :13:48. | :13:50.
The CCTV was taken here in Woodlands Road in Alum Rock. | :13:51. | :13:58.
The prosecution told the jury there is no evidence that Mr Hussain | :13:59. | :14:02.
had targeted any particular section of railway line for an attack, | :14:03. | :14:10.
but they said that is reasonable to infer | :14:11. | :14:14.
that he may have contemplated the use of railway lines | :14:15. | :14:18.
It's alleged that he'd improvised detonator parts | :14:19. | :14:24.
A pressure cooker packed with chemicals | :14:25. | :14:29.
also contained hundreds of nails and screws. | :14:30. | :14:33.
two books detailing how to ambush and derail trains. | :14:34. | :14:40.
It was claimed in court that the defendant told detectives | :14:41. | :14:43.
that he wasn't planning on detonating | :14:44. | :14:45.
Instead, he wanted to sell it to the Sun newspaper for money. | :14:46. | :14:52.
Zahid Hussain has been given permission to witness his trial | :14:53. | :14:55.
via a video link from a psychiatric unit. | :14:56. | :15:00.

Let's turn to sport - lots to talk about from the weekend. | :15:35. | :15:44.
Dan is here, we'll start with the escape from relegation | :15:45. | :15:47.
Yes, yesterday was the final day of football's championship. This is | :15:48. | :15:58.
where our teams finished. They are all in the bottom half. Aston Villa | :15:59. | :16:03.
were 13th, all is 15th, Birmingham City 19th and Burton Albion were | :16:04. | :16:09.
20th. That does not tell the full story. The blues went into the final | :16:10. | :16:13.
game under the threat of relegation. This was Birmingham City's | :16:14. | :16:16.
final match of the season. win at Bristol City | :16:17. | :16:19.
and they'd survive. Tries to turn inside | :16:20. | :16:22.
the penalty area. Che Adams has scored | :16:23. | :16:25.
for Birmingham City! And the final whistle goes, | :16:26. | :16:28.
and Birmingham City are safe. Harry Redknapp has won two | :16:29. | :16:34.
of his three games in charge. I met them last night | :16:35. | :16:37.
for the first time, and I had a very | :16:38. | :16:42.
interesting meeting. They are very nice, | :16:43. | :16:46.
very good people. They obviously want to | :16:47. | :16:48.
take the club forward. They are not going to throw crazy | :16:49. | :16:52.
money at the prospect, to try to achieve that, | :16:53. | :16:55.
but they will invest. It's just a case of wait | :16:56. | :17:00.
and see, really now. Despite flirting dangerously close | :17:01. | :17:05.
to relegation, the Blues actually finished | :17:06. | :17:07.
above Burton Albion. but lost their final game 4-2 | :17:08. | :17:09.
against play-off bound Reading. Danny Batth scoring the only goal | :17:10. | :17:16.
in the first minute in a game | :17:17. | :17:21.
which had nothing resting on it. The Championship title | :17:22. | :17:25.
was on the line at Villa Park. And when Villa's Nathan Baker | :17:26. | :17:28.
was sent off after conceding a penalty, Brighton were on course | :17:29. | :17:32.
for the silverware But Brighton hearts were broken | :17:33. | :17:34.
by an 89th minute equaliser It meant that Newcastle | :17:35. | :17:40.
won the league. But back at | :17:41. | :17:45.
the Bristol beach party, the Blues fans | :17:46. | :17:47.
were celebrating just as hard. In the Premier League, | :17:48. | :17:52.
Stoke City drew 2-2 at Bournemouth. Mame Biram Diouf | :17:53. | :17:55.
struck late for the Potters. But a Ryan Shawcross own goal | :17:56. | :17:58.
saw them share the points. And West Bromwich Albion | :17:59. | :18:01.
scored their first goal But their game at Burnley | :18:02. | :18:03.
also finished 2-2. As much as I would like to talk | :18:04. | :18:21.
about Albion scoring twice, let's talk about Birmingham City. What an | :18:22. | :18:26.
extraordinary turnaround. Last week mistakenly sent off, this week the | :18:27. | :18:33.
matchwinner. The red card was rescinded, allowing him to play, and | :18:34. | :18:36.
he scored the goal that won the match. Do you think Harry Redknapp | :18:37. | :18:42.
will stay? I'm not sure. It was a masterstroke to bring him in for the | :18:43. | :18:49.
last three matches. We shall find out this week. | :18:50. | :18:54.
And ignored no game for Wasps in the premiership. Similar to Birmingham | :18:55. | :19:01.
City. They beat Saracens but needed a try, and it was the fourth try | :19:02. | :19:07.
from the England man. It up the bonus point finish top. They won the | :19:08. | :19:18.
game by 30 points to 15. Leicester beat Worcester by 25-23, | :19:19. | :19:22.
but another good showing from them. Twickenham was the venue for | :19:23. | :19:32.
Droitwich, but not for them at the weekend. They lost in the final. It | :19:33. | :19:40.
was 37-15 in that. They scored two tries, they will always remember | :19:41. | :19:43.
that. That was their first defeat of the season. They already won the | :19:44. | :19:48.
league, they got the promotion. This was their best ever season. | :19:49. | :19:50.
It's a massive summer for the England women's cricket team. | :19:51. | :19:52.
and hoping to lift the trophy for the first time since 2009. | :19:53. | :19:57.
Well, the captain, Heather Knight, is in Warwickshire this evening | :19:58. | :19:59.
Yes, I am delighted to be joined by Heather Knight, on a chilly evening. | :20:00. | :20:13.
We can't go any further without asking, you are on crutches, what is | :20:14. | :20:19.
the problem? My fifth metatarsal in my left foot has got a very small | :20:20. | :20:23.
stress fracture. On the sly couple of weeks and then hopefully good to | :20:24. | :20:31.
go. Because we thank all you have committed to coming to see them. | :20:32. | :20:38.
Hopefully I'll be fit and ready to lead the team out at the World Cup. | :20:39. | :20:42.
The most publicised women's World Cup ever, and we have got some of | :20:43. | :20:48.
the best fans in the world. Massively excited. Hopefully I will | :20:49. | :20:51.
be out there and ready to go. We will find some of the kids that you | :20:52. | :20:56.
want to inspire. Come with me and we will find Zara. How good has it been | :20:57. | :21:03.
to have the women's captain tonight? It is good to know the what it is | :21:04. | :21:13.
like to play for England. How are you enjoying it this evening Quetta | :21:14. | :21:15.
muck it is really good because she has taught us different things, | :21:16. | :21:22.
encouraged us. That's fantastic. Come over here Darcy, Howell much | :21:23. | :21:29.
you looking forward to seeing the women winning the World Cup? Really | :21:30. | :21:34.
good. I've bet they are going to win. It will be fantastic if they | :21:35. | :21:37.
could win that World Cup here on home soil for the first time since | :21:38. | :21:39.
2009. It will be terrific and we do wish | :21:40. | :21:44.
her a very speedy recovery. Great for the junk and fans. | :21:45. | :21:51.
-- great for those young cricket fans. | :21:52. | :21:54.
unearthed by two metal detector enthusiasts, | :21:55. | :21:56.
have gone on display close to where they were found | :21:57. | :21:59.
The land belongs to none other than a Mr Treasure! | :22:00. | :22:02.
and have now returned from the British Museum. | :22:03. | :22:06.
This is the hoard of 518 Roman coins | :22:07. | :22:08.
hidden in a field in Herefordshire for 1,700 years. | :22:09. | :22:11.
When you look at the quality of these coins, | :22:12. | :22:14.
That was until two of duty paramedics | :22:15. | :22:18.
They'd been deposited in a leather satchel. | :22:19. | :22:26.
Inside the satchel, there were several hessian bags, | :22:27. | :22:29.
and those bags, we found, were stuffed with leaves. | :22:30. | :22:33.
They were hidden under two very large stones to keep it well hidden. | :22:34. | :22:36.
It's the sort of thing you always dream of, | :22:37. | :22:40.
you almost can't believe what you found. | :22:41. | :22:47.
Once we found it, we realised what it was. | :22:48. | :22:49.
We immediately knew it was a very important historical artefact | :22:50. | :22:51.
The hoard's worth a few hundred pounds, and was declared treasure. | :22:52. | :22:55.
It's now on display close to where it was found at tourist | :22:56. | :22:58.
attraction Stockton Gardens at Kimbolton near Leominster. | :22:59. | :23:02.
The coins date back to around 270 AD, a time of war, of chaos. | :23:03. | :23:08.
When you get instability, people will sort of go | :23:09. | :23:10.
and put their horde or their coins and bury them, | :23:11. | :23:13.
Because I think you wouldn't be able to trust... | :23:14. | :23:17.
You wouldn't know what was going to happen the next day. | :23:18. | :23:19.
land owned by the aptly-named Raymond Treasure, and he had to | :23:20. | :23:30.
invent a white lie to keep people away while the land was excavated. | :23:31. | :23:35.
We parked a tractor over the top of the site and told everybody | :23:36. | :23:38.
that there was an unexploded bomb to keep people away! | :23:39. | :23:42.
Since the coins were discovered four years ago, every bit | :23:43. | :23:51.
of this field has been searched, and nothing else has been found. | :23:52. | :23:55.
Only the earth knows the secret of who buried the treasure here, | :23:56. | :23:59.
close to where there was once a Roman road. | :24:00. | :24:08.
After some lovely sun yesterday, temperatures dropped again today. | :24:09. | :24:12.
and gardeners and farmers still want rain! | :24:13. | :24:20.
They are desperate and. We looking for it to the end of the week. This | :24:21. | :24:26.
was the state of the ground today, and this was after the UK as a whole | :24:27. | :24:31.
only saw 47% of the average rainfall for last month. I'm afraid the dry | :24:32. | :24:35.
spell is going to continue into the middle part of me. The theme from | :24:36. | :24:45.
last week is continuing, due to the easterly strolling in more of the | :24:46. | :24:58.
western part of the region. Today across Evesham, more like 14 and 15 | :24:59. | :25:01.
degrees. This is what is keeping things settled at the moment. High | :25:02. | :25:05.
pressure is sitting across us, drawing in winds from the East, | :25:06. | :25:10.
drawing in the cloud from the North Sea. By the end of Thursday, we have | :25:11. | :25:14.
got low pressure taking over which will be bringing in rain from the | :25:15. | :25:18.
South, which will spread northwards through Friday and into the start of | :25:19. | :25:22.
the weekend. You could see some heavy downpours from that, but it | :25:23. | :25:26.
moves northwards and may become lighter. We are hoping that it | :25:27. | :25:31.
doesn't do so for the farmers and gardeners. This evening, there is a | :25:32. | :25:34.
clear line marking the boundary between cloudy conditions to the | :25:35. | :25:39.
east and clearer conditions to the West. The cloud moves across all | :25:40. | :25:44.
parts during the course of the night. Temperatures will hold up to | :25:45. | :25:48.
around six or seven Celsius, but in the clearest bells across the | :25:49. | :25:51.
south-west, temperatures may reach as low as four Celsius, low in the | :25:52. | :25:59.
countryside. You will see some pleasant spells of sunshine once | :26:00. | :26:03.
again tomorrow across western areas more particularly. With the figure | :26:04. | :26:09.
cloud, just the odd spot of rain. Temperatures between 13 and 15 | :26:10. | :26:14.
Celsius. The cloud will shrink back tomorrow night, so much clearer | :26:15. | :26:16.
skies as we head into Wednesday. That is when we get the best of the | :26:17. | :26:20.
sunshine this week. Cloudy and warm at was the end the week. | :26:21. | :26:23.
On tomorrow's programme, an ancient castle - | :26:24. | :26:25.
which has stood over Herefordshire's Golden Valley | :26:26. | :26:27.
is finally to be renovated after decades of neglect. | :26:28. | :26:30.
Snodhill Castle has been saved by a group of villagers | :26:31. | :26:33.
and secured a grant of ?500,000 to stabilise and repair | :26:34. | :26:35.
I feel that we're actually honouring the people who built this place | :26:36. | :26:43.
by looking after it now on their behalf, | :26:44. | :26:45.
and not restoring it in an artificial way, | :26:46. | :26:49.
That's all from us for now, I'll be back with your next news at 10:30pm. | :26:50. | :26:58. |
