changes to grading and assessment. That is all from the | :00:00. | :00:00.
Good evening. Welcome to NorthWest Tonight with Roger Johnson and Beccy | :00:07. | :00:18.
Meehan. Ten years since Charlene Downes went missing, police appeal | :00:19. | :00:21.
to her old friends as disturbing allegations emerge about her | :00:22. | :00:23.
childhood. Deliver justice and to get searched killers behind bars. | :00:24. | :00:28.
Why will never get up. I am in determined. `` I will never give up. | :00:29. | :00:31.
Her family held an emotional memorial service for her today. Also | :00:32. | :00:36.
tonight, still protesting his innocence. A man convicted of | :00:37. | :00:39.
drowning his wife in France says she died in an accident. | :00:40. | :00:42.
Health risks could force fracking firms to site drilling platforms | :00:43. | :00:51.
away from people's homes. He's not going to sell much ice cream going | :00:52. | :00:55.
at that speed. But a new book might do better. Eric Morecambe's former | :00:56. | :01:08.
driver tells all. It's exactly ten years since Blackpool schoolgirl | :01:09. | :01:12.
Charlene Downes disappeared. Detectives are convinced she's been | :01:13. | :01:15.
murdered and today announced they were stepping up their inquiry. | :01:16. | :01:19.
This afternoon Charlene's family held an emotional memorial service | :01:20. | :01:26.
in the resort. Her mother believes she was killed by a Muslim grooming | :01:27. | :01:30.
gang, and her case has been taken up by the far right British National | :01:31. | :01:33.
Party. But today a national newspaper published evidence | :01:34. | :01:35.
suggesting that during her short life Charlene came into contact with | :01:36. | :01:38.
white paedophiles, sometimes in her own home. Peter Marshall is here now | :01:39. | :01:43.
with more. Today's memorial was to celebrate | :01:44. | :01:48.
Charlene's all too short life. They released white doves in her memory. | :01:49. | :01:55.
Inside, family and friends, spoke of a young girl full of life, with a | :01:56. | :02:01.
ready smile. But a decade since her disappearance they still don't know | :02:02. | :02:04.
what happened too her. Al always remember her as my cheeky little | :02:05. | :02:09.
girl. Happy and smiling. The smile could fill a room. It was | :02:10. | :02:16.
infectious. Police believe she was one of a number of girls who had | :02:17. | :02:20.
been groomed for sex by older men in the town. Two Asian take away owners | :02:21. | :02:25.
were charged over her death but a jury failed to reach a verdict. Her | :02:26. | :02:29.
family are convinced she fell prey to a Muslim paedophile gang | :02:30. | :02:36.
operating in the resort. They, and police, hope publicity surrounding | :02:37. | :02:39.
recent grooming cases like that in Rochdale will encourage witnesses to | :02:40. | :02:41.
come forward. We're saying to people if you were a victim of historical | :02:42. | :02:46.
abuse around the time when Charlene Downes and Paige Chivers were | :02:47. | :02:50.
murdered, please come forward and we will treat you with respect and | :02:51. | :02:55.
listen to your story. Charlene's family have been supported in their | :02:56. | :02:58.
fight for justice by the British National Party which claims grooming | :02:59. | :03:01.
gangs haven't been tackled because of a misguided sense of political | :03:02. | :03:11.
correctness. But today the times newspaper accused the BNP of | :03:12. | :03:13.
distorting Charlene's story "to sow seeds of divisive malevolence." It | :03:14. | :03:16.
cites confidential police reports suggesting charlene was exposed to | :03:17. | :03:19.
sex offenders from an early age They were not related to her.` they | :03:20. | :03:23.
were older white men who visited or stayed at the family home. The BNP | :03:24. | :03:26.
and Charlene's family rejected the article. My response is that it is | :03:27. | :03:32.
appalling. They have got a lot of this from Facebook. I can assure you | :03:33. | :03:38.
that is not the case. As far as I'm concerned, my daughter has been | :03:39. | :03:47.
abused by groomed gangs. There are many unanswered questions in the | :03:48. | :03:51.
case. The key question is, will she ever receive justice? A lift to get | :03:52. | :03:57.
her killers behind bars. I've pray that one day that is going to | :03:58. | :04:01.
happen. I will never give up. `` I pray. Robert Lund from Lancashire | :04:02. | :04:08.
was found guilty of killing his wife Eveyln by three separate courts But | :04:09. | :04:12.
tonight he's free and in an exclusive interview with North West | :04:13. | :04:14.
Tonight he's still protesting his innocence. His wife's body was found | :04:15. | :04:18.
at the bottom of a lake two years after she disappeared from the | :04:19. | :04:21.
couple's home in Southern France. Lund was jailed for 12 years and had | :04:22. | :04:25.
two appeals rejected. But now he's been released. Chris Bockman | :04:26. | :04:31.
reports. This is home for Robert London Eye. | :04:32. | :04:34.
He has just been freed after spending nine years in various | :04:35. | :04:38.
French jails. For the manslaughter of his wife. He has no chance of | :04:39. | :04:43.
clearing his name in the French courts, they chose to speak to the | :04:44. | :04:49.
BBC to claim his innocence. I'm speaking to you because I have | :04:50. | :04:52.
nothing to hide. My conscience is clear. I am in Assynt and did, wife. | :04:53. | :05:00.
French courts find him guilty of manslaughter in three separate | :05:01. | :05:09.
trials. Each time... It was claimed that he killed his wife and drove | :05:10. | :05:13.
her body into a lake to make it seem like an accident. In my opinion it | :05:14. | :05:18.
was an accident. She took a wrong turning. It was dark. It was a | :05:19. | :05:23.
terrible night. She was upset. She had been drinking and think she had | :05:24. | :05:29.
an accident, unfortunately. Whether people believe he is or not, he says | :05:30. | :05:34.
he has to get on with his life. That means finding a job as he is broke. | :05:35. | :05:42.
He intends to stay put in France. I hope that other thing is finished | :05:43. | :05:46.
and I can get on with my life. I hope I can construct a new life My | :05:47. | :05:52.
new life begins after I'll leave prison. I do not look back. His | :05:53. | :05:59.
wife's family did not want to be interviewed today but they have | :06:00. | :06:03.
always rejected his claims of innocence. S8 the motive by the | :06:04. | :06:11.
death was money. Lund wanted access to his wife's life insurance. His | :06:12. | :06:16.
legal problems are far from over. He now has to go to court in Leeds | :06:17. | :06:22.
later this month because his former in`laws will try to reclaim his | :06:23. | :06:31.
French property. There have been further developments | :06:32. | :06:33.
regarding possible wrongdoing at Lancashire County Council. The | :06:34. | :06:37.
constabulary have confirmed they are conducting their own investigation. | :06:38. | :06:41.
Our political editor has been following this story. The police | :06:42. | :06:46.
statement is a little vague, it refers to concerns in relation to a | :06:47. | :06:51.
number of irregularities What are they talking about? The problem with | :06:52. | :06:58.
this is it has always been vague the of the case. But they relate to the | :06:59. | :07:06.
creation of an organisation, a joint venture but `` joint`venture tween | :07:07. | :07:11.
BT and Lancashire County Council to run certain services, set up by the | :07:12. | :07:14.
previous Conservative administration. When Labour took | :07:15. | :07:19.
over, they had concerns about that. One was the fact that bonuses of | :07:20. | :07:29.
?500 million had been paid to the Chief Executive of that | :07:30. | :07:34.
organisation. The second was the decision to award a contract to look | :07:35. | :07:41.
after the council's vehicles. That contract was cancelled by Labour. | :07:42. | :07:46.
They began an investigation into the Chief Executive of Lancashire County | :07:47. | :07:51.
Council. He was suspended and, more recently, he resigned in exchange | :07:52. | :07:56.
for them dropping that disciplinary enquiry. Instead what the County | :07:57. | :08:02.
Council has done is picking `` picked up those files, and now they | :08:03. | :08:08.
have confirmed they are officially investigating. What should we expect | :08:09. | :08:13.
to happen? Let's be clear, he has always said he has done nothing | :08:14. | :08:16.
wrong and his supporters believe that this is literally motivated. | :08:17. | :08:21.
The key question will be what do detectives do know? Do they look at | :08:22. | :08:25.
the allegations and say, you know what, this is very serious and we | :08:26. | :08:29.
are going to do a full enquiry, or do they look at the evidence and say | :08:30. | :08:33.
there is not enough here. That is going to be the question. We will be | :08:34. | :08:38.
looking at this issue on Sunday at 11am on BBC One, where at least one | :08:39. | :08:44.
MP will be calling for a full enquiry into what is going on. | :08:45. | :08:52.
Faxback `` thank you very much. What would you rather have where you | :08:53. | :08:56.
live, a market or a Poundland? In Cleveleys, traders in the last of | :08:57. | :08:59.
the town's three markets are fighting for survival. On Saturday, | :09:00. | :09:02.
with 24 hours notice, they were kicked out to make way for the chain | :09:03. | :09:05.
store. Our Business Correspondent Jayne McCubbin watched a very angry, | :09:06. | :09:13.
very vocal protest there today. Poundland needs Cleveleys more than | :09:14. | :09:19.
clean sleaze needs Poundland! `` Cleveleys. The message was this | :09:20. | :09:27.
Poundland is not welcome. The store already has almost 500 branches It | :09:28. | :09:32.
wants to open 1000 more. This will be its next. Traders were locked out | :09:33. | :09:37.
after a phone call from the landlord on Saturday morning. To be told with | :09:38. | :09:44.
24 hours notice, it is ridiculous. There's been no prior warning. | :09:45. | :09:52.
Nobody owes any money or rent. Locked inside, tens of thousands of | :09:53. | :09:56.
pounds of stock. The livelihoods of 15 traders. Tristram were camped | :09:57. | :10:02.
outside tonight in protest. How long will you sleepy? As long as it takes | :10:03. | :10:08.
to get this resolved. `` will you sleep here. On Saturday, you had a | :10:09. | :10:12.
business but you don't now. What will happen to you? It is a | :10:13. | :10:18.
financial hardship. Why have a mortgage and bills to pay. A | :10:19. | :10:22.
petition has attracted 5000 signatures. The public has come out | :10:23. | :10:27.
in such numbers that it has been a matter of police control. When | :10:28. | :10:32.
Poundland comes, will you shop there? No. They cannot offer the | :10:33. | :10:39.
friendship. This is the community of Cleveleys. The fight is to save the | :10:40. | :10:46.
last of Cleveleys' three markets. This was the second ago, taking over | :10:47. | :10:52.
18 months ago. Since then, nothing. It has been empty ever since. We | :10:53. | :10:57.
were not able to meet the landlord today but he told the local | :10:58. | :10:59.
newspaper that his tenants had had noticed. They disagree. This goes to | :11:00. | :11:05.
court on Monday. We will let you know what happens. | :11:06. | :11:08.
Health officials are criticising a report which suggests there's a | :11:09. | :11:11.
higher risk of cancer for people living near shale gas fracking | :11:12. | :11:13.
sites. An American study predicts there will be ten extra cancer cases | :11:14. | :11:17.
in any community located within half a mile of a drilling site. Earlier I | :11:18. | :11:23.
spoke to George Kowalczk, regional toxicologist for Public Health | :11:24. | :11:26.
England. I asked him why he thought the American research was flawed. | :11:27. | :11:32.
Fracking, if it is not properly regulated, can release emissions | :11:33. | :11:40.
into the atmosphere. But we believe that if it is well maintained and | :11:41. | :11:45.
related, the emissions can be made iced. `` minimised. Why do not | :11:46. | :11:55.
believe cancer is an issue? There are some chemicals associated with | :11:56. | :11:59.
the industry. It is not the gas or the chemicals in fracking but it | :12:00. | :12:04.
might come with the infrastructure that is associated with the | :12:05. | :12:08.
industry, the vehicles and engines that drive the Wells. They can | :12:09. | :12:17.
release emissions, which can release things that are known to cause | :12:18. | :12:20.
cancers. These chemicals are in our environment. We can live with them | :12:21. | :12:25.
with an acceptable level of risk. Think the American study identified | :12:26. | :12:30.
the people living close to those operations, not just the shield gas | :12:31. | :12:35.
but the infrastructure operation, were at a low level of risk, | :12:36. | :12:39.
equivalent to the level of risk that people experience from heavily | :12:40. | :12:45.
trafficked areas. `` shield gas I think we could use that information | :12:46. | :12:50.
to make sure that people are kept a reasonable distance from the | :12:51. | :12:56.
operation. You can make sure the people are protected from the | :12:57. | :13:02.
omissions. You might be able to do that in America where people can get | :13:03. | :13:06.
away from the wells but here, there is not that much space. It is | :13:07. | :13:10.
perhaps to do with whether wells are cited. `` where the wells are cited. | :13:11. | :13:21.
If it is an unacceptable risk, it will not be allowed. Now the stand | :13:22. | :13:32.
up comedian Sanderson Jones wasn't joking when he said he wanted to set | :13:33. | :13:36.
up a church for those who don't believe in God. | :13:37. | :13:38.
He's currently touring the country establishing so called Sunday | :13:39. | :13:40.
Assemblies. His latest is in Manchester and our Chief Reporter | :13:41. | :13:46.
Dave Guest has been to see it. They are meeting in a church and | :13:47. | :13:53.
they have got acquire. `` a acquire. They also have moments of quiet | :13:54. | :13:57.
contemplation. They have even got a collection. The one thing they do | :13:58. | :14:01.
not have is any reference to God or religion. You put some time in your | :14:02. | :14:10.
diary, between Tuesday and Wednesday next week I have time for church. | :14:11. | :14:15.
Sanderson Jones is co`founder of the movement. He is a stand`up comedian | :14:16. | :14:18.
muscle no surprise to his gatherings are peppered with humour. Just | :14:19. | :14:22.
because you were doing something humorous does not mean you cannot | :14:23. | :14:26.
have fun. I think we are changing the world. That is a big claim! How? | :14:27. | :14:33.
We started out with none of these assemblies and now there are 35 | :14:34. | :14:37.
already and will be 40 by the end of the year. What we do is celebrate | :14:38. | :14:40.
the one thing we have in common and that is that we are alive. Colin | :14:41. | :14:46.
Parry was the inaugural speaker His son was killed by an IRA bomb. It | :14:47. | :14:53.
could have meant the end of my life very easily. But it was not. The | :14:54. | :14:58.
round`up with tea and cakes but no vicar. You might ask, they are a | :14:59. | :15:02.
congregation that do not believe in God, so why have their meeting in a | :15:03. | :15:06.
church? Apparently this was the only space available. They say it is not | :15:07. | :15:11.
the building that matters, but more what goes on inside it. | :15:12. | :15:18.
And now to a man many people would think had the dream job. Not you, | :15:19. | :15:28.
Roger! Mike Fountain was Eric Morecambe's chauffeur for 15 years | :15:29. | :15:32.
during the height of his fame and right up until his untimely death in | :15:33. | :15:35.
1984. I have to say, I have been chuckling while we have been | :15:36. | :15:37.
watching the report. All the messages, people posting their | :15:38. | :15:41.
favourite Eric Morecambe lines on Facebook. The chauffeur has launched | :15:42. | :15:46.
his book, called "Driving Mr Morecambe". It's packed with | :15:47. | :15:49.
anecdotes and pictures that up until now have not been made public. | :15:50. | :15:54.
Appropriately, the event took place at the Morecambe library and Mark | :15:55. | :15:59.
Edwardson was there. That's very untidy! I know, their viewers. `` | :16:00. | :16:07.
they are yours. Eric and Ernie brought sunshine to millions in a | :16:08. | :16:10.
double act that lasted half a century. Mike Fountain was offered | :16:11. | :16:13.
the job as Eric Morecambe's chauffeur in the late 1960s. Add a | :16:14. | :16:16.
business going, so it took me ten seconds and I said yes! "Driving Mr | :16:17. | :16:22.
Morecambe", a portrait of a legend, launched at packed Morecambe | :16:23. | :16:25.
library. Mike recalled tales hitherto unheard outside Morecambe's | :16:26. | :16:30.
Rolls Royce. The dregs arrived and then, unfortunately, so did two | :16:31. | :16:33.
coaches full of women from the Women's Institute. Eric's reaction | :16:34. | :16:37.
was honest, friendly and welcoming. He said two words. Hellfire! There | :16:38. | :16:44.
are unseen pictures too. The Morecambe family, with Mike | :16:45. | :16:49.
Fountain, at a picnic. And backstage at an early Morecambe and Wise show. | :16:50. | :16:55.
It is thoroughly enjoyable to read because of that. Because it is | :16:56. | :17:00.
honest and lovely. You cannot help but smile. He is not going to sell | :17:01. | :17:09.
much ice cream going at that speed. He said, what is that risk are doing | :17:10. | :17:17.
there? I said, nothing! And we were pulled over, and the policeman said, | :17:18. | :17:21.
excuse me, can I have your autograph? He must have had a fit! | :17:22. | :17:27.
Michael was always there with the props. Remember him saying to me | :17:28. | :17:30.
that they were the happiest days of his life. `` I remember him saying | :17:31. | :17:37.
to me. Eric would have said all the right words but not necessarily in | :17:38. | :17:44.
the right order. That was my favourite line. Someone has tweeted, | :17:45. | :17:52.
saying that we should do the weather with those classes on! `` classes. I | :17:53. | :17:59.
think she should carry them on. She is a stylish woman! `` carry them | :18:00. | :18:06.
off. All the sports, not necessarily in the right order. Tell us about | :18:07. | :18:13.
Manuel Pellegrini. He has had a bit of a dilemma to resolve. Yes, ahead | :18:14. | :18:22.
of City's match against Norwich we understand that Joe Hart has been | :18:23. | :18:24.
dropped. Manuel Pellegrini declined to confirm that at his press | :18:25. | :18:28.
conference earlier today. But it appears he's gone with his | :18:29. | :18:31.
understudy, Costel Pantilimon. Hart has made a number of mistakes in | :18:32. | :18:34.
recent matches that have brought the England number one's position as | :18:35. | :18:37.
City's first choice into question. This was the latest in that defeat | :18:38. | :18:40.
at Chelsea last weekend. Chelsea's winner the result of a mix`up for | :18:41. | :18:47.
which the keeper was widely blamed. Pantillimon played in the win at | :18:48. | :18:50.
Newcastle in the League Cup in midweek and did well, and the Blues | :18:51. | :18:54.
manager has decided to give him a chance in the Premier League. The | :18:55. | :18:58.
match of the weekend in the Premier League is at the Emirates Stadium in | :18:59. | :19:01.
tomorrow's late kick off when Liverpool visit top`of`the`table | :19:02. | :19:03.
Arsenal. The Gunners are just two places and two points better off | :19:04. | :19:06.
than Brendan Rodgers' men. The Liverpool manager has praised his | :19:07. | :19:08.
team's consistency, particularly strikers Daniel Sturridge and Luis | :19:09. | :19:14.
Suarez. Daniel is improving. All the time. And Luis Suarez, everyone | :19:15. | :19:19.
talks about his goals and his workrate, but I've seen an | :19:20. | :19:23.
improvement in his football and his maturity this year. That bodes well | :19:24. | :19:31.
for us. And, of course, you can keep up to date with all the games | :19:32. | :19:34.
involving our sides on your BBC local radio station. Some sad news | :19:35. | :19:38.
to bring you I'm afraid about the Tranmere Rovers' midfielder Joe | :19:39. | :19:40.
Thompson. Joe has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. The | :19:41. | :19:44.
24`year`old began feeling ill during training a couple of weeks ago and | :19:45. | :19:47.
underwent tests, which confirmed he has a form of Hodgkin's disease | :19:48. | :19:51.
He'll begin a six month course of chemotherapy. The club is, of | :19:52. | :19:57.
course, right behind him. We have been flooded with messages of | :19:58. | :20:01.
support from supporters since we announced the news. This puts | :20:02. | :20:06.
football into perspective. As you say, as a club, we will do | :20:07. | :20:11.
everything we can for him and his family. We all wish you the very | :20:12. | :20:19.
best in your recovery, Joe. Now Sale Sharks will be aiming to continue | :20:20. | :20:22.
their solid start to the season against Exeter Chiefs tonight. You | :20:23. | :20:25.
might remember the Sharks had a terrible start to last season which | :20:26. | :20:28.
left them battling relegation. This time they've got a few wins in the | :20:29. | :20:33.
bag and as I found out attitude is at the heart of their approach. | :20:34. | :20:40.
In the hard edged world of modern rugby union, the Art of winning | :20:41. | :20:43.
often comes down to science with little left to chance. This is | :20:44. | :20:51.
Sale's blueprint for success. A document crated largely by the | :20:52. | :20:55.
players. It is their reference guide for the season. A lot of it is | :20:56. | :21:01.
driven by peer pressure. We have the senior players as the drivers. We | :21:02. | :21:05.
meet with them twice a week and they drive the momentum. Underpinning the | :21:06. | :21:15.
philosophy, a number of keywords. Beliefs, believing that we can win | :21:16. | :21:19.
the games. Having the knowledge of the opposition. Having a high skill | :21:20. | :21:27.
set which we train towards. And being highly motivated. Those four | :21:28. | :21:32.
things do not work unless we turn up at the right attitude. Attitude is | :21:33. | :21:36.
the first and foremost word that we use on a daily basis. A simple | :21:37. | :21:41.
message that is getting through Last season, Sale lost their opening | :21:42. | :21:45.
seven premiership matches. This time, they have already won half of | :21:46. | :21:51.
their first six. It is no doubt that Sale have made an impressive start | :21:52. | :21:55.
to this campaign. But they know that some of the trickier fixtures come | :21:56. | :21:58.
towards the end of the season. It is a long way away. Lessons from last | :21:59. | :22:06.
year, we need to get off to a good start. It takes the pressure off. We | :22:07. | :22:14.
have done that so far. We look at our home game, and this Friday night | :22:15. | :22:21.
is huge. The sort of attitude that will likely please his coaches. | :22:22. | :22:31.
Elsewhere, there is lots of rugby elsewhere. The family of the famous | :22:32. | :22:36.
Tomkins rugby players have faced a tricky dilemma this week. Sam will | :22:37. | :22:39.
be starring for England against Ireland on Saturday in the Rugby | :22:40. | :22:42.
League World Cup. Joel is making his debut for England's rugby union team | :22:43. | :22:50.
against Australia. So even though the Wiganers are steeped in the | :22:51. | :22:53.
13`man code, the Tomkins tribe are all going to watch Joel earn his | :22:54. | :22:57.
first cap at Twickenham. Playing in front of 80,000 people at | :22:58. | :22:59.
Twickenham, it is a massive buzz. I'm looking forward to it. But like | :23:00. | :23:04.
I said, it was a big goal. One of the main reason is akin to rugby | :23:05. | :23:08.
union. Thankfully everyone has gone in the right direction. `` one of | :23:09. | :23:13.
the main reasons I came to rugby union. I spoke to their mother and | :23:14. | :23:19.
they said the family decided they had to go and watch Joel because it | :23:20. | :23:22.
is his debut but the more people talk about it, the more guilt thing | :23:23. | :23:29.
`` guilty she feels! I wonder how foul proud she must feel! | :23:30. | :23:35.
Well, as it's the night after Hallowe'en we thought we'd leave you | :23:36. | :23:38.
with some giant ghosts, super`size skeletons and massive monsters. | :23:39. | :23:41.
Thousands of people are gathering in Liverpool tonight to see them. | :23:42. | :23:46.
You have a lot of punk is here last night! `` you had a lot of pumpkins | :23:47. | :23:52.
here last night. They're part of the Hallowe'en Lantern Parade in the | :23:53. | :23:57.
city's Sefton Park. Look at those! Reminiscent of the thing they had a | :23:58. | :24:00.
couple of years ago, with the big puppet walking around the city. Our | :24:01. | :24:09.
Merseyside Reporter, Andy Gill, is there. | :24:10. | :24:13.
You can see a tensing skeleton, Michael Jackson and some mushrooms. | :24:14. | :24:17.
You might think this is a normal night. Far from it. This is part of | :24:18. | :24:22.
the annual Halloween lantern parade. Thousands have come out to watch it | :24:23. | :24:26.
because it is spectacular. Ice one chap taking a look at the skeleton, | :24:27. | :24:30.
about three years old, and running away. The fact that people last year | :24:31. | :24:35.
in the park is an important part of why they put this event on. Lot of | :24:36. | :24:39.
people come together to make the latter is, and all sorts of ages | :24:40. | :24:43.
come together. The organisers have been telling me that that community | :24:44. | :24:49.
spirit, bringing people together in the park, especially at night time, | :24:50. | :24:53.
is one of the reasons they put the parade on. It is mixing together the | :24:54. | :24:58.
community and professional artists. Daily from Liverpool and the North | :24:59. | :25:05.
West but also nationally. `` mainly from. It is a brilliant | :25:06. | :25:10.
celebration. It is an antidote to the more commercialised Halloween. | :25:11. | :25:16.
So we are doing it a bit differently. | :25:17. | :25:21.
As you can see, the parade is in full swing. You can see the | :25:22. | :25:26.
community land turns behind me and the music playing. `` community | :25:27. | :25:32.
lanterns. They are making their way to a central area where they promise | :25:33. | :25:37.
a spectacular firework display. As you can see, the best seat in the | :25:38. | :25:41.
house, as always. Fantastic stuff. Let's find out what | :25:42. | :25:48.
the weather is going to be like What's going on, and I am afraid it | :25:49. | :25:53.
will be unsettled. Plenty of activities going on this weekend. It | :25:54. | :25:58.
is like to be unsettled, I am afraid. Strong winds from time to | :25:59. | :26:03.
time. And you will see rain or showers. It is all courtesy of this | :26:04. | :26:09.
rain. That system is moving away and tomorrow, this low pressure is | :26:10. | :26:12.
moving in. Lots of rain. Sunday could be the better day. For | :26:13. | :26:20.
tonight, we have had some rain this afternoon and that rain will retreat | :26:21. | :26:23.
south initially and then begin to head back up north as we head into | :26:24. | :26:29.
dawn. Clearing skies. Here, you can see that the temperatures will drop. | :26:30. | :26:33.
Freezing. Tomorrow morning will be clouded. The rain will be breaking | :26:34. | :26:37.
into showers. Heavy showers trying to cross the Irish Sea, over the | :26:38. | :26:42.
Isle of Man. Initially, they will cross over. Very strong wind as | :26:43. | :26:48.
well. 1112 Celsius, a bit disappointing for this time of year. | :26:49. | :26:56.
Heavy showers tomorrow. Saturday night looks like this. Heavy, | :26:57. | :27:04.
blustery showers. The wind is picking up across the Isle of Man | :27:05. | :27:09.
and around the coast. Blackpool in places like that, temperatures | :27:10. | :27:12.
dropping to five or six. Of course, on Sunday we have the Diwali | :27:13. | :27:19.
celebrations. Hopefully, conditions will improve. | :27:20. | :27:24.
We are a hardy lot, I do not think rain will put us off. | :27:25. | :27:30.
You have to feel sorry for the people in Sefton Park. Hit or miss | :27:31. | :27:37.
showers. Does that sound better We will leave you with some pictures | :27:38. | :27:39.
from the lantern parade. Enjoy! | :27:40. | :27:49. |
