BBC One we join Good evening. Welcome to NorthWest | :00:00. | :00:00.
Tonight with Annabel Tiffin and Roger Johnson. Our top storx: The | :00:07. | :00:09.
?70 million cocaine smuggling operation foiled by police before | :00:10. | :00:12.
the drugs flooded the streets of Liverpool. One of the gang, Ian | :00:13. | :00:15.
Stanton, was today jailed for 1 years. | :00:16. | :00:18.
Also tonight: The fatal plane crash en route to Everest ` an inpuest | :00:19. | :00:22.
hears how four local men didd in Nepal. | :00:23. | :00:25.
Survivors of the lightning storm ` the Cheshire family who walked away | :00:26. | :00:30.
unharmed from this. And the cup glory in Claret ` | :00:31. | :00:36.
I heard a bang, a big noise, and it was completely like that. And some | :00:37. | :00:47.
residents are calling in thd bin tax here in Pendle. They will soon have | :00:48. | :00:50.
to pay to have their green waste taken away. | :00:51. | :00:55.
And the cup glory in Claret ` celebrations to mark the 100th | :00:56. | :00:57.
anniversary of a famous Burnley victory. | :00:58. | :01:05.
They'd planned to flood the streets of Liverpool with cocaine worth more | :01:06. | :01:11.
than ?70 million. But their plot was foiled by pure chance. Police | :01:12. | :01:15.
stumbled across the drugs dtring a routine dockside check. Offhcers | :01:16. | :01:18.
then launched a sting of thdir own to catch the gang. Today, two of the | :01:19. | :01:22.
men involved in what's been described as a very sophisthcated | :01:23. | :01:24.
operation were jailed. They join others of their number who're | :01:25. | :01:28.
already locked up. But as otr chief reporter Dave Guest explains, the | :01:29. | :01:30.
mastermind behind the plan remains at large. | :01:31. | :01:32.
This container was supposedly packed with frozen beef from Argentina It | :01:33. | :01:37.
had travelled from Buenos Ahres to Tilbury docks last May. But when | :01:38. | :01:41.
officials decided to check the meat for signs of E coli, they got far | :01:42. | :01:46.
more than they bargained for. Stashed inside were more th`n a | :01:47. | :01:49.
dozen holdalls stuffed with blocks of cocaine worth in excess of ? 0 | :01:50. | :01:54.
million. Over 400 kilograms of cocaine, high`purity, cut cocaine. | :01:55. | :01:57.
As a result of that, the National Crime Agency took on the | :01:58. | :02:01.
investigation. But the gang didn't know thdy'd been | :02:02. | :02:05.
caught out. So officers filled the holdalls with bricks and thd | :02:06. | :02:08.
consignment was sent on to hts intended destination, a cold store | :02:09. | :02:14.
in Wigan. When James Mossman collected a couple of those | :02:15. | :02:17.
holdalls, he soon realised the stash was gone, but didn't realisd the | :02:18. | :02:22.
police had it. It became apparent that the individual behind the | :02:23. | :02:25.
actual invitation believed they had been ripped up by another crime | :02:26. | :02:29.
group. So this man, Ian Stanton, w`s called | :02:30. | :02:32.
in to organise a search and recovery operation. He and associates met on | :02:33. | :02:38.
a retail park at Aintree to discuss tactics, unaware their everx move | :02:39. | :02:43.
was being monitored by the police. During that meeting, it was quite | :02:44. | :02:46.
apparent that the criminal gang were intent on using extreme violence to | :02:47. | :02:49.
identify the individuals behind the rip`off, if you will. | :02:50. | :02:57.
Completely unaware that these drugs were in the possession of the | :02:58. | :03:00.
police? Absolutely. Gary Keating and Francis Oakford | :03:01. | :03:03.
were at that meeting. They `nd Mossman are all now serving jail | :03:04. | :03:07.
terms. Stanton fled to Holl`nd, but was tracked down and extradhted last | :03:08. | :03:13.
December. Today, he got 12 xears for conspiracy to supply cocaind. Beside | :03:14. | :03:17.
him in the dock at Liverpool today, Anthony Short. He'd been involved in | :03:18. | :03:21.
importing the drugs and was sent down for 22 years. Judge Al`n Conrad | :03:22. | :03:27.
QC said this had been a sophisticated plot to import a huge | :03:28. | :03:32.
quantity of drugs into the TK. He said it was obvious that St`nton and | :03:33. | :03:35.
his associates had the determination to discover what had happendd to | :03:36. | :03:38.
their consignment, to track it down, and then distribute it. | :03:39. | :03:46.
But two of the men involved in that meeting at Aintree are still on the | :03:47. | :03:49.
run. Anthony Saunderson and David McDermott are thought to be | :03:50. | :03:52.
overseas. Meanwhile, the iddntity of the mastermind who had over`ll | :03:53. | :03:55.
control of the drugs import`tion plan is as yet unknown. | :03:56. | :04:03.
the daughter of one of the lost well known Hillsborough campaigndrs has | :04:04. | :04:14.
told the new inquests into the disaster of her mother's relentless | :04:15. | :04:17.
determination to find the truth Sara Williams was speaking `bout her | :04:18. | :04:20.
mother Anne, who died last xear Anne Williams lost her 15`ydar`old | :04:21. | :04:23.
son Kevin in the disaster in 19 9. Today the inquest heard personal | :04:24. | :04:26.
tributes to ten more of the 96 victims, including Kevin Williams. | :04:27. | :04:33.
Andy Gill was in court. Sara Williams came to Warrington | :04:34. | :04:35.
knowing she faced a emotion`lly gruelling appearance in court. | :04:36. | :04:41.
Sara's brother Kevin was just a teenager when he was killed. His | :04:42. | :04:44.
mum, Anne, from Crosby, wagdd a lengthy legal battle against the | :04:45. | :04:47.
decision at the original inpuests not to hear evidence about what | :04:48. | :04:50.
happened after 3:15 on the day of the disaster. She felt the response | :04:51. | :04:59.
of the emergency services h`dn't been examined. Anne died from cancer | :05:00. | :05:02.
three days after attending last year's Hillsborough memorial | :05:03. | :05:06.
service. Today Sara Williams said this of her brother. | :05:07. | :05:33.
That statement that Sara made was perfect. He was such a | :05:34. | :05:38.
happy`go`lucky lad, mischievous bright, good`looking lad. | :05:39. | :05:47.
The jury also hard another tribute to Eric Hankin from his father Eric | :05:48. | :05:52.
Senior. He read his statement for us afterwards. | :05:53. | :05:55.
I feel very hurt and cheated that I've lost my son at the young age of | :05:56. | :05:59.
33, with all his life still in front of him. I love my son, and H miss | :06:00. | :06:08.
him every day. Among other tributes, the jtry also | :06:09. | :06:11.
heard about the oldest victhm, 67`year`old Gerard Baron from | :06:12. | :06:14.
Preston. His son, also Gerard, was at the match with him. Gerard Baron | :06:15. | :06:20.
Junior said he and his fathdr expected to be safe at a | :06:21. | :06:23.
high`profile football match, and not, as he put it, "witness hell | :06:24. | :06:29.
before their eyes". He said the last thing he said to his father was | :06:30. | :06:32.
"You'll be OK." "How wrong H was," he said. There'll be more tributes | :06:33. | :06:35.
tomorrow. Michael Adebolajo has launched an | :06:36. | :06:51.
appeal against his life sentence for the murder of the soldier Lde Rigby. | :06:52. | :06:54.
Fusilier Rigby, who was frol Middleton, was killed outside the | :06:55. | :06:57.
Woolwich Barracks in May last year. The trial judge said the barbaric | :06:58. | :07:01.
nature of the murder justifhed a whole life sentence. | :07:02. | :07:04.
A review into part of the Isle of Man's health service has fotnd that | :07:05. | :07:07.
less than 50% quality stand`rds were met. The emergency department, | :07:08. | :07:09.
theatres, anaesthetics and critical care were all looked into. @reas of | :07:10. | :07:13.
concern included a shortage of staff and trauma management. | :07:14. | :07:17.
National Museums Liverpool will shut six venues for a day later this | :07:18. | :07:22.
month. The closure on April 24th is for staff to be briefed on cuts The | :07:23. | :07:26.
organisation says its budget has been cut by nearly a third over the | :07:27. | :07:30.
past four years and more job losses are needed. | :07:31. | :07:34.
More details have been given of the Giants' return to Liverpool this | :07:35. | :07:40.
summer. It's one of the country s main World War One commemor`tions. | :07:41. | :07:43.
The girl and her dog will vhsit Kensington and Newsham Park, taking | :07:44. | :07:46.
the performance outside the city centre. | :07:47. | :07:52.
A father whose twin daughters were delivered by a doctor who dhed | :07:53. | :07:56.
trying to save her son from drowning has said it's no surprise she died a | :07:57. | :07:59.
hero. Uma Ramalingam was a consultant obstetrician at Royal | :08:00. | :08:02.
Oldham Hospital and has helped bring hundreds of children safely into the | :08:03. | :08:05.
world. Tributes have been p`id today, describing the 42`ye`r`old as | :08:06. | :08:08.
caring and inspirational. Abbie Jones reports. | :08:09. | :08:14.
Identical twins Grace and Lhly Mae Wilson are happy and healthx. But it | :08:15. | :08:19.
was a high risk pregnancy for parents Adam and Zoe from Rochdale. | :08:20. | :08:22.
They saw Dr Uma Ramalingam dvery fortnight until she deliverdd their | :08:23. | :08:31.
daughters. It's no surprise to me that she was doing something heroic. | :08:32. | :08:36.
She was fantastic with thesd. She was obviously an expert in what she | :08:37. | :08:41.
did, excellent at her job, `nd we were all a bit upset, last night, | :08:42. | :08:45.
because she had a big part hn these being born. Dr Ramalingam, from | :08:46. | :08:49.
Altrincham, was on a family holiday in Tenerife. She drowned along with | :08:50. | :08:52.
a relative after trying to rescue their two children off the coast of | :08:53. | :08:56.
Playa Paraiso. Today it emerged the death is the second tragedy to hit | :08:57. | :08:59.
the family. Dr Ramalingam's first husband, her son's father, was | :09:00. | :09:03.
killed in a road accident in 20 7. In Tenerife, an investigation has | :09:04. | :09:06.
now been opened by the police and civil guard. It's just shows you the | :09:07. | :09:20.
power of the see. I gather the children were standing on rocks not | :09:21. | :09:23.
far from the sea and were hht by large ways that came across the top | :09:24. | :09:27.
of it. We are all very shocked to know what happened, and to hear | :09:28. | :09:31.
about this tragedy. It was only the second day into the group's holiday. | :09:32. | :09:35.
Today, those she'd helped p`id tribute to her on social media. | :09:36. | :09:37.
Donella O'Donnell wrote: "I am Adam and his wife say they will | :09:38. | :09:56.
always be grateful for the care they and their daughters received. | :09:57. | :10:08.
A campaign to give women earlier access to cervical screening moved a | :10:09. | :10:11.
step closer today. It comes after the death of Merseyside teenager | :10:12. | :10:14.
Sophie Jones, who died from the illness aged 19. At the momdnt, the | :10:15. | :10:18.
age for routine smear tests is 5, but almost 320,000 people h`ve | :10:19. | :10:21.
signed an online petition asking for that to be reviewed. Today, the MP | :10:22. | :10:24.
Steve Rotheram presented thd case for a full debate on the issue. | :10:25. | :10:28.
Earlier I asked him, that whth so many people signing the pethtion, if | :10:29. | :10:32.
there was any doubt that such a debate would go ahead. | :10:33. | :10:34.
Well, unfortunately, there hs still doubt. The decision by the committee | :10:35. | :10:39.
won't be known until tomorrow. I put forward a very strong case saying | :10:40. | :10:43.
that it should be in the mahn chamber and not in Westminster Hall. | :10:44. | :10:47.
The main chamber debate means that we could put forward a motion that | :10:48. | :10:51.
can go to a vote, and that's after all what the family have asked for | :10:52. | :10:54.
and certainly what the camp`igners believe, by signing the pethtion, | :10:55. | :10:59.
they'll get. A lot of medic`l experts believe it has little or no | :11:00. | :11:03.
impact on the rates of cervhcal cancer by lowering that scrdening | :11:04. | :11:06.
age, and if anything, it can cause more harm to those girls. I think | :11:07. | :11:11.
what the argument that was put forward today would be, that it s | :11:12. | :11:13.
routine screening for all pdople under 25, and that's not wh`t the | :11:14. | :11:17.
family have called for, and that's not what the campaigners have signed | :11:18. | :11:23.
a petition about. It is that if anybody under that age belidves that | :11:24. | :11:26.
they've got some sort of sylptoms that could lead them to belheve that | :11:27. | :11:30.
they've got the condition, that they have the right to ask for a smear, | :11:31. | :11:39.
and that's all there is, re`lly That's why I think that if we can | :11:40. | :11:43.
get this debate, the governlent will be forced to act upon it. So that is | :11:44. | :11:47.
quite an important point to make, then, isn't it, that you're not | :11:48. | :11:51.
actually calling for the agd of routine screening to be brotght down | :11:52. | :11:54.
to 16, just for those that request it? In Sophie's case, what happened | :11:55. | :11:59.
is, she went to the GP and was denied the opportunity to h`ve a | :12:00. | :12:05.
smear test. A smear test obviously would have found that she w`s | :12:06. | :12:08.
suffering from cervical cancer, and if you catch it early enough, her | :12:09. | :12:13.
life could have been saved. All the parents want is to ensure that | :12:14. | :12:16.
nobody else has to go through what they have been through with the loss | :12:17. | :12:21.
of their child. Thank you vdry much for joining us. | :12:22. | :12:32.
Interesting thoughts there. Still to come: A bolt from the blue. It must | :12:33. | :12:39.
have been really scary. We need the Cheshire family who survived the | :12:40. | :12:43.
chaos of a lightning strike. I heard a bang, a big, big noise, and it was | :12:44. | :12:51.
completely dark. And Doobie Sturridge Liverpool star striker | :12:52. | :12:55.
surprises young fans and te`ches them his famous goal celebr`tion. | :12:56. | :13:06.
He has been practising! The family of a man from Chdshire | :13:07. | :13:10.
who died in a plane crash in Nepal has told an inquest he would not | :13:11. | :13:14.
have flown if he had been aware of the country's air safety record | :13:15. | :13:17.
Timothy Oakes was one of seven British tourists killed in the crash | :13:18. | :13:21.
in 2012. Four of them were from the North West, including Mr Oakes. Mark | :13:22. | :13:24.
Edwardson reports from the hnquest in Warrington. | :13:25. | :13:28.
It was September 28, 2012, when a twin engine turboprop operated by | :13:29. | :13:36.
Caesar airlines, crashed at Kathmandu airport in Nepal. | :13:37. | :13:40.
On`board, tourists looking forward to a trekking holiday near the base | :13:41. | :13:44.
camp of Mount Everest. Everxone on board was killed, including Vincent | :13:45. | :13:47.
and Alan Kelly from Bolton, Timothy Oakes from Warrington, and Raymond | :13:48. | :13:54.
Eagle from Macclesfield. Inpuests are being held here at Warrhngton | :13:55. | :13:59.
town hall, and the issue of the poor air safety record of the airline has | :14:00. | :14:02.
been important. Relatives h`ve said that if the deceased had known about | :14:03. | :14:08.
this, he would never have flown His widow Angela said, he loved | :14:09. | :14:10.
adventure, but he loved his family more. The inquest in Warrington also | :14:11. | :14:14.
heard about the possible catses for the crash, from UK investig`tors. | :14:15. | :14:19.
There had been a bird strikd, but that was ruled out as a cause. While | :14:20. | :14:24.
the plane overloaded? Not according to official documentation. `` it is | :14:25. | :14:30.
thought it was probable, however, saying it is common practicd for | :14:31. | :14:35.
Nepalese passengers to take cash for an extra bag or two without the | :14:36. | :14:38.
knowledge of the pilot. One even admitted he noted he had bedn lied | :14:39. | :14:43.
to join the investigation. The tour firm said it had switched to the | :14:44. | :14:47.
airline after its previous carrier suffered an accident. Quizzdd by | :14:48. | :14:51.
families and representatives at length, its spokeswoman said the | :14:52. | :14:55.
firm had now stop using Nep`lese carriers, but only since thdy were | :14:56. | :14:59.
blacklisted by the EU at thd end of last year. What actually happened to | :15:00. | :15:05.
that flight may never be known, but before rising to consider hhs | :15:06. | :15:10.
conclusion, the coroner stated that this was the most comprehensive | :15:11. | :15:13.
investigation he had encountered in the 21 years of his current job | :15:14. | :15:19.
A family from Crewe have bedn forced to leave their home after lhghtning | :15:20. | :15:24.
struck, wrecking much of thd house. As a powerful electric currdnt | :15:25. | :15:26.
surged through the property, sockets were blown off the walls, and holes | :15:27. | :15:32.
were burnt into the floor. The damage will take months to repair. | :15:33. | :15:41.
Stuart Flinders reports. Broken windows, hold in the roof. It | :15:42. | :15:47.
must have been quite a storl. I heard a bang, a big, big nohse, and | :15:48. | :15:53.
it was completely dark. This man was on the phone when power surged | :15:54. | :15:57.
through the walls, burning ` hole through the floor next to where he | :15:58. | :16:02.
stood. So that is your. 's bowl and that was struck by the lightning? | :16:03. | :16:09.
Yes. What is funniest is, mx dog was here. Your dog was there? Hd was | :16:10. | :16:17.
sleeping. Did he wait? Definitely! The dog appeared to have recovered | :16:18. | :16:21.
from the shock. You can see where the lightning smashed through the | :16:22. | :16:24.
roof of the loft there, and the current has travelled through the | :16:25. | :16:28.
ceilings and walls, wrecking and forcing nails and screws out of the | :16:29. | :16:34.
walls. A new roof, new windows, new electrics. The insurers say it will | :16:35. | :16:40.
be three to four months before the family can move back in. How are the | :16:41. | :16:44.
children? As my husband told me they were just screaming and hiding | :16:45. | :16:49.
under the blankets. What ard the chances of your house being struck | :16:50. | :16:53.
by lightning? Smaller than winning the lottery. I bet you would rather | :16:54. | :16:58.
do that! Yeah! The family are currently staying in a hotel, | :16:59. | :17:03.
shocked but glad to be alivd. Absolutely terrifying. | :17:04. | :17:06.
Some residents in Pendle ard calling it the bin tax. From June, they ll | :17:07. | :17:10.
have to pay an extra ?25 a xear if they want their green bins dmptied. | :17:11. | :17:13.
The borough council says it's because of budget cuts. Lots of you | :17:14. | :17:20.
have got in touch. We will read your e`mails at the end of the programme. | :17:21. | :17:23.
They're the latest council to introduce the fee, and say those who | :17:24. | :17:27.
opt out of the scheme will have to recycle garden waste themselves Our | :17:28. | :17:29.
environment correspondent Jtdy Hobson reports. | :17:30. | :17:33.
Residents in Foulridge near Colne had their green bins emptied for | :17:34. | :17:36.
free this morning. From Jund, that will all change. Harry is a keen | :17:37. | :17:41.
gardener and regularly fills his green bin. He doesn't think the | :17:42. | :17:44.
council should start charging for taking his garden waste awax. In | :17:45. | :17:52.
principle, I think they havd a bit of a nerve. An extra charge for | :17:53. | :17:58.
this, what can there be an dxtra charge for next? Pendle Borough | :17:59. | :18:02.
Council says it has no choice. The ?25 annual charge won't makd them a | :18:03. | :18:06.
profit, but will cover the cost of the service. That service w`s | :18:07. | :18:11.
provided in the heyday of local government spending, when money was | :18:12. | :18:13.
being thrown from central government. It is not any more. You | :18:14. | :18:17.
have to save money, but what will people do with their green waste? | :18:18. | :18:21.
They will either choose to take up the service for the extra ?25 per | :18:22. | :18:25.
year, compost it at home, or take it one of our recycling centres. But | :18:26. | :18:29.
the County Council closed the nearest recycling centre at Colne, | :18:30. | :18:32.
so that option would be a shx`mile round trip. I think we will probably | :18:33. | :18:36.
actually just pay it, because we don't have the time to make a trip | :18:37. | :18:41.
to the local tip every two weeks. At the moment, we cut the grass, so I | :18:42. | :18:45.
suspect we will be begrudgingly pay it. Karen Clark doesn't havd a green | :18:46. | :18:53.
bin. She says the council rdfused to collect it because she lives in a | :18:54. | :18:57.
remote area. She thinks the new charge is fair. I think it hs not | :18:58. | :19:00.
before time. We have never had a green refuse collection, from when | :19:01. | :19:02.
it was first introduced. My argument with the council was, why are we | :19:03. | :19:06.
paying for something we don't get? I think it is only fair that hf people | :19:07. | :19:11.
wanted, they pay for it. Thd council say they are not considering cuts to | :19:12. | :19:16.
other bin collections. Lots of you have been in totch, as I | :19:17. | :19:21.
said, about this issue. We will read some e`mails at the end of the | :19:22. | :19:24.
programme. First, let's get some sports news. | :19:25. | :19:26.
Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore has admitted a Football Association | :19:27. | :19:28.
charge of misconduct and repuested a personal hearing. The 61`ye`r`old | :19:29. | :19:31.
was suspended by the club in February and was last week charged | :19:32. | :19:34.
over "multiple breaches" of betting rules. A statement on Rovers' | :19:35. | :19:38.
website revealed the club whll review Moore's position at Prenton | :19:39. | :19:48.
Park over the next 24 hours. Crickets next, and the openhng day | :19:49. | :19:53.
of Lancashire's match and Nottinghamshire. The first latch of | :19:54. | :19:56.
their return to the top flight is proving to be testing. They shot out | :19:57. | :20:00.
for just 144 in their first innings. Nottingham cracked 271st tile | :20:01. | :20:06.
around, leading the visitors needing a large total to win, and I suspect, | :20:07. | :20:08.
praying for rain. Some sad news for Everton f`ns. | :20:09. | :20:12.
Sandy Brown, part of the 1970 League Championship winning side, has died | :20:13. | :20:17.
aged 75. Sandy Brown was signed from Partick Thistle in 1963 and played | :20:18. | :20:24.
251 times for the Blues. Wayne Rooney is expected to play for | :20:25. | :20:27.
Manchester United against B`yern Munich in their quarterfinal | :20:28. | :20:30.
tomorrow. He trained this morning, having been absent at the wdekend | :20:31. | :20:40.
with a with a bruised toe. No truth in the rumour that he droppdd his | :20:41. | :20:44.
pay packet on it! Burnley might well be just ` few | :20:45. | :20:47.
games away from promotion to the Premier League. But the distance | :20:48. | :20:50.
between them and winning thd famous FA Cup has reached an incredible 100 | :20:51. | :20:54.
years. The Clarets last picked up the famous old trophy in April 914, | :20:55. | :20:57.
just a few months before thd start of the First World War. A ndw | :20:58. | :21:01.
exhibition at Towneley Hall has been telling fans all about it. | :21:02. | :21:11.
For Clarets fans, these memories are pure gold. April 20 five, 1814. | :21:12. | :21:17.
Burnley take on Liverpool in the last final to be played at the | :21:18. | :21:22.
Crystal Palace. They win 1`0. The goal was scored by Bert Fredman His | :21:23. | :21:26.
winner 's medal is till herd, and so is the fading shirt he wore. Just to | :21:27. | :21:31.
think that the goal`scorer `ctually wore that shirt will stop absolutely | :21:32. | :21:38.
fantastic. That final was played when Boots were sturdy and shin pads | :21:39. | :21:42.
were built to last. It was played within a few months of the start of | :21:43. | :21:47.
the great War. Shortly after lifting the cup, footballers became foot | :21:48. | :21:51.
soldiers. Some of the players actually went off in servicd, and | :21:52. | :21:56.
they did die. Edward Hodgson was a member of the 1914 cup winndrs. He | :21:57. | :22:01.
went off on active service, and by the end of the war, he had caught an | :22:02. | :22:06.
infection, and that resulted in his death. The 1914 final was the first | :22:07. | :22:11.
to be attended by the reignhng monarch, King George V. Burnley s | :22:12. | :22:15.
should then bought a special crest which will reappear the end of this | :22:16. | :22:21.
season. It is the royal crest, which we have special permission from the | :22:22. | :22:25.
palace to use, so we will bd putting that on for the Ipswich homd game, | :22:26. | :22:30.
our final game of the season. Hopefully celebrating promotion | :22:31. | :22:34.
Obviously, I can't say the P word, but you never know! Speaking as a | :22:35. | :22:40.
Burnley fan, it may never h`ppen again that Burnley win the FA Cup, | :22:41. | :22:44.
so a display like this is tremendous. I was reading that | :22:45. | :22:47.
apparently all the factories and schools close on the day afterwards | :22:48. | :22:51.
to celebrate. There will be many hoping for a similar promothon party | :22:52. | :22:56.
very soon. They are still enjoying the glory | :22:57. | :22:59.
days in Burnley! People in the glory days back then probably just | :23:00. | :23:03.
celebrated by shaking hands, but these day they're often renowned for | :23:04. | :23:06.
their extravagant goal celebrations. Peter Crouch had the robot. Lomana | :23:07. | :23:09.
Lua Lua did somersaults. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has a | :23:10. | :23:13.
unique dance of his own. And pupils at a school in Anfield got real | :23:14. | :23:17.
surprise when he popped in to give them some pointers. Have a look at | :23:18. | :23:27.
this. Hello. I am a Liverpool fan. My | :23:28. | :23:30.
favourite player is Daniel Sturridge. | :23:31. | :23:38.
I have my own celebration. Ly own celebration is a front flip. | :23:39. | :23:50.
What is happening? URI? I think his goal celebration is really fun. What | :23:51. | :24:01.
are you doing, like a five? What is happening, player? How are xou | :24:02. | :24:12.
doing? You're right? I think you have to do it better though. In my | :24:13. | :24:16.
opinion, I think you have to get into it a little bit more. Why did | :24:17. | :24:22.
you come to Liverpool? Becatse of you. What a charmer! | :24:23. | :24:28.
Is he there? I don't know what he was doing. | :24:29. | :24:32.
And you can see the full ephsode of Daniel Sturridge's visit to that | :24:33. | :24:36.
school on LFCTV's Kop Kids, which is on Thursday and Friday this week. | :24:37. | :24:45.
I'm sure you could do a better job! Right, Diane, now for the wdather. | :24:46. | :24:53.
Good evening. A blustery dax today. That wind was really roaring, really | :24:54. | :24:57.
quite cold, giving a wintry feel to the weather. Good news in the next | :24:58. | :25:02.
few days, particularly towards the weekend. High`pressure returns, and | :25:03. | :25:06.
things should be quiet and lore settled. A relatively fine spell. | :25:07. | :25:10.
This is how it looks right now. The wind went down through the | :25:11. | :25:14.
afternoon, with temperatures around 11 degrees. It felt OK eventually, | :25:15. | :25:18.
but the morning was pretty raw. This is how it looks through the night. | :25:19. | :25:22.
Over the next few hours, thd cloud cover will come and go, so ht is | :25:23. | :25:27.
50`50. If you see any long breaks, you could have temperatures falling | :25:28. | :25:31.
to around two or three degrdes. For most towns and cities, they are a | :25:32. | :25:35.
lot better, temperatures of around six and seven. First thing hn the | :25:36. | :25:42.
morning, we are looking at ` north`south divide. Anywherd to the | :25:43. | :25:46.
south of the river rebel, you should be dry. Anywhere to the north, there | :25:47. | :25:50.
is a line of weather coming in temporarily first thing tomorrow | :25:51. | :25:54.
morning, so part of the Isld of Man, Cumbria and northern Lancashire will | :25:55. | :25:57.
start the day with rain arotnd. Everywhere else should be dry but | :25:58. | :26:00.
fairly cloudy. It is an improving picture. He high`pressure area | :26:01. | :26:04.
manages to push that weather system out of the way through the day, so | :26:05. | :26:08.
dry, brighter skies started spreading to Cumbria, Lancashire and | :26:09. | :26:13.
the Isle of Man. To the south, cloud cover will take some time bdfore it | :26:14. | :26:16.
thins and breaks, but eventtally it will, and you might not see a | :26:17. | :26:21.
massive amount of sunshine, but the winds are lighter than todax, when | :26:22. | :26:25.
they were 30 to 40 miles now. Tomorrow, a quiet today, so it will | :26:26. | :26:30.
look OK, and we will be tot`lly about 12 and 13. Rain for Thursday, | :26:31. | :26:33.
but high`pressure returns after that and things that'll down. | :26:34. | :26:40.
I am getting excited! Thank you very much. We have had plenty of e`mails | :26:41. | :26:45.
and comments about the storx about the charges for emptying grden waste | :26:46. | :26:51.
bins. One review essays, just because some houses don't h`ve | :26:52. | :26:56.
gardens, that is no reason to charge. I have no children, but have | :26:57. | :26:59.
the paper Children's Servicds. Another says, I think it is right to | :27:00. | :27:05.
charge people to pay for thhs. People in flats generally are less | :27:06. | :27:08.
affluent than people in houses. Hillary says, we had to takd green | :27:09. | :27:12.
waste to take a mile away, but that is now closed. Now they want to | :27:13. | :27:17.
charge for taking away wastd we can't take ourselves. And Rdbecca | :27:18. | :27:21.
Wilkins says, people will jtst end up filling their normal reftse bins | :27:22. | :27:25.
with green waste if there's goes ahead. I suppose the Warriors, if it | :27:26. | :27:30.
is garden waste, people think that it is all right, and fly`tipping it. | :27:31. | :27:35.
We are not suggesting that. We are, however, sending someone on our team | :27:36. | :27:40.
to a South American geography course tonight. Good night. | :27:41. | :27:44. |
