Good evening. Police are investigating thd death

of a man found in the front garden of a house in Manchester. Hhs body

was discovered after they wdre called to reports of a burglary

nearby. Two men have been arrested. Mark Edwardson reports.

Delaunay's Road in Crumpsall, a busy bus route and one of the mahn roads

to North Manchester General Hospital. Today, closed for scenes

of crime investigations. Police said they were called to the solhcitors

office. They found up body hn the front garden of a house on the other

side of the road. Detectives said the incidents are connected and they

have arrested two men on suspicion of burglary to remain in custody.

The dead man had suffered sdvere leg injuries. Detectives are trxing to

work out how he was hurt. Local families gave us their reaction to

his death. It is a shock. Btt people are we is getting robbed around

here. When I moved in it was a very quiet

area. I saw police cars this morning. It is a big shock.

There have been more `` mord murders around here.

Police say anyone with information about how the man died are trged to

contact them as soon as possible or contact Crimestoppers anonylously.

A man's seriously ill in hospital after being stabbed during `n

argument with a motorist in Salford. Police say the 31`year`old was

walking along Sherbourne Street West when he was nearly hit by a car As

he remonstrated with the drhver one of the passengers got out and

stabbed him in the shoulder and back.

Jason Le Masurier was told he could never walk again after a kite

surfing accident eight years ago. Now not only can he walk, hd can

cycle, run and swim. Earlier this month Jason completed the Skipton

Triathlon raising ?800 for the North West Air Ambulance to say thanks for

helping to save his life. N`zia Mogra's been to Morecambe to meet

Jason and his family. He was told he'd spend the rest of

his life in a wheelchair. Btt Jason Le Masurier proved the doctors wrong

and earlier this month he took part in a triathalon. The slight problem

I had was that I got a slight puncture in my bicycle.

Jason was kite surfing with friends on Blackpool Beach in 2007 when he

fell to the ground, fracturhng his skull. A gust of wind took the kite

and lifted me up around 20 feet in the area and dropped me on ly head

onto the hard sand. Just minutes later the North West Air Ambulance

was at the scene. Jason was air lifted to the Royal Preston

Hospital. He spent the next two years in hospital. I was certainly

very lucky to get the hospital within an hour time frame. Ht is

great that he is supporting the air ambulance and giving somethhng back

to the community. It is wonderful. Jason was kite surfing with friends

on Blackpool Beach in 2007 when he fell to the ground, fracturhng his

skull. The doctors told me H would not walk again. They told md I would

not do any of the other things I enjoy.

Jason and his family say thdy'll keep raising money for the North

West Air Ambulance charity so they can continue helping to savd the

lives of others like Jason. A 15`year`old from Lancashire has

reached the semifinal of thd BBC Young Musician of the Year

competition. Elliott Gaston`Ross has qualified in the percussion section

and he'll face competition from four other musicians when the selifinal

takes place on Saturday May 17th. The destiny of the Premiere League

title is back in Manchester City's hands after they beat Cryst`l Palace

2`0 this afternoon and Liverpool lost two nil at home to Chelsea

This mistake by Steven Gerr`rd gifted the opening goal to Demba Ba.

Now it is time for a weather update. For many places, it has been a very

good day. This evening, it will be mainly dry and we will see

decent gaps in the cloud. There are a few showers around tonight but

they will gradually here. Cloud and rain will increase from the East. ``

throughout the morning and lore sunshine will hear. Some showers

will come in throughout the afternoon and some of these showers
