Anti`toll campaigners have stepped up their campaign

against controversial plans to introduce a charge to use

work. It disproportionately impact the people of this area.

According to Halton Council, the government's position is that

without tolls, the ?589 million scheme wouldn't go ahead.

Residents are being offered 300 31`week trips across this bridge or

the Mersey Gateway in a redtced toll charge of ?1 a day compared to 2

for other drivers. It is an insult. We are the 27th most deprivdd borrow

in the area and we do not h`ve the best employment record. By the time

the busy lately opens these residents are confident thex will

have made their case to keep the Silver Jubilee Bridge toll free
