changed forever on that September day in 2012. | :01:27. | :01:30.
The inquest heard that Mr Summerscales was diagnosed | :01:31. | :01:32.
He sufffered regular bouts of depression. | :01:33. | :01:44.
We did as much as we could at the time, both the senior team at | :01:45. | :02:02.
We did that through colleague to colleagues report, we had | :02:03. | :02:11.
support from our force welfare department, | :02:12. | :02:13.
occupational health and help from | :02:14. | :02:14.
Andrew Summerscales was no stranger to trauma. | :02:15. | :02:17.
In 1989, as a teenager, he was in the crowd at Hillsborough | :02:18. | :02:20.
The coroner said it was clear that Andrew Summerscales | :02:21. | :02:31.
was a man who had endured a number of tragedies in his life. | :02:32. | :02:34.
She was satisfied that he had been suffering from a recurrence of | :02:35. | :02:37.

The future of a new nuclear power plant near Sellafield has been | :02:47. | :02:50.
thrown into doubt, after the Japanese company | :02:51. | :02:55.
Toshiba said it would be pulling out of its construction. | :02:56. | :02:58.
The ?10 million project at Moorside would create around 20,000 new jobs. | :02:59. | :03:01.
This is supposed to be the future of nuclear power. | :03:02. | :03:06.
Moorside is due to be built over the next few years. | :03:07. | :03:08.
At a press conference earlier, Japanese company Toshiba announced | :03:09. | :03:14.
massive financial losses, and said it would be selling its shares | :03:15. | :03:18.
in Nugen, the company which plans to build Moorside. | :03:19. | :03:20.
There are more than one Japanese company involved in this business, | :03:21. | :03:29.
so we will continue to discuss with industry players | :03:30. | :03:31.
We've got an open mind about how best to deliver this. | :03:32. | :03:36.
For 70 years, this part of Cumbria has been a hub | :03:37. | :03:38.
Down the road from Moorside, Sellafield is being decommissioned. | :03:39. | :03:54.
Nearby Neesham power plant is coming to the end of its life. -- Hesham. | :03:55. | :04:02.
Local MP Tim Farron said a new plant was vital for jobs, | :04:03. | :04:04.
but the government had made a fundamental mistake. | :04:05. | :04:08.
I guess what this shows is that if the Government puts all its eggs | :04:09. | :04:12.
in a non-European basket, and if we are ourselves heading | :04:13. | :04:14.
in an isolationist direction, we shouldn't be surprised | :04:15. | :04:16.
when others behave in an isolationist manner as well. | :04:17. | :04:18.
Moorside is part of a new generation of energy production - | :04:19. | :04:21.
plans to build large pylons in the Lake District to transport | :04:22. | :04:23.
The plant is due to be online in 2024. | :04:24. | :04:33.
It has been clear for some time that financing the nuclear industry | :04:34. | :04:37.
We saw this with Hinkley Point see, for example. -- Hinkley Point C. | :04:38. | :04:51.
So I don't think it's any surprise that even | :04:52. | :04:53.
very large international companies are finding difficulties with the | :04:54. | :04:55.
sort of capital investment we are talking about. | :04:56. | :04:57.
Toshiba said it had always planned to sell its shares in Nugen, | :04:58. | :05:00.
and would still work on its development of Moorside. | :05:01. | :05:08.
Ukip leader and North West MEP Paul Nuttall has apologised, | :05:09. | :05:11.
after he admitted his claims that he lost "close personal | :05:12. | :05:13.
The claims were made on his website in 2011 and have | :05:14. | :05:17.
Mr Nuttall is also facing pressure to prove he was present at the 1989 | :05:18. | :05:21.
stadium disaster, after newspapers questioned his claims. | :05:22. | :05:24.
He has to scribed those allegations as disgusting. -- described. | :05:25. | :05:34.

The PSA Group, maker of Peugeot and Citroen cars, | :05:37. | :05:39.
is in talks about taking over General Motors' loss-making | :05:40. | :05:41.
Any deal would included plants in the UK and that once again brings | :05:42. | :05:46.
Our reporter Yunus Mulla joins us now. | :05:47. | :05:48.
Peugeot is thinking bigger is better. What about the work force at | :05:49. | :06:15.
Ellesmere Port? In 2012 the plant came close to closing down but it | :06:16. | :06:20.
was saved after a deal with the unions over pay and conditions. | :06:21. | :06:25.
Would a French car maker want to stay in the UK after Brexit? The | :06:26. | :06:35.
local MP said 80% of the Astros are sold in Europe but he believes that | :06:36. | :06:40.
Europe is still a you -- Britain is still a lucrative market. | :06:41. | :06:47.
We have a great operation here, a very big car market, and they would | :06:48. | :06:51.
be rather foolish to forget about that when they are looking at their | :06:52. | :06:55.
future plans. The unions are calling for urgent | :06:56. | :06:57.
talks with GM. At this moment both sides | :06:58. | :07:10.
are choosing remarkably There can be no assurance that | :07:11. | :07:13.
an agreement will be reached. Hundreds of couples in Liverpool | :07:14. | :07:19.
have celebrated Valentine's Day They took advantage of the romantic | :07:20. | :07:21.
day by renewing their wedding vows. Between them all they've racked up | :07:22. | :07:25.
more than 7000 years of marriage, and Katie Walderman was there | :07:26. | :07:28.
to witness the mass love-in. What could be more romantic | :07:29. | :07:30.
than renewing your wedding Well, how about doing it | :07:31. | :07:33.
with almost 200 others - I am as nervous now | :07:34. | :07:36.
as I was on the 11th of March 1967. One of the best days | :07:37. | :07:50.
of my life, this! Radio Merseyside put out the call | :07:51. | :07:52.
for some old romantics to say "I do" again - and these | :07:53. | :08:00.
are the lovebirds that answered. Everyone's got their different | :08:01. | :08:03.
reasons for coming here, but all Marriage assumes many different | :08:04. | :08:06.
forms throughout the years... Even the registrar's | :08:07. | :08:13.
feeling the love. Pat's not only carrying | :08:14. | :08:14.
out the blessing - When we heard about this ceremony, | :08:15. | :08:16.
we thought, let's do it ourselves. We're just made up | :08:17. | :08:24.
to do it, aren't we? It's been 43 years, | :08:25. | :08:34.
three weeks and six days. And this lovely lot has racked up | :08:35. | :08:42.
more than 7,000 years Just agreeing with everything | :08:43. | :08:45.
she does and says. A bit of give and take - I give, | :08:46. | :08:52.
she takes! I hope you're listening, | :08:53. | :08:57.
Mr Walderman. Katie Walderman, BBC | :08:58. | :08:58.
North West Tonight, Liverpool. Congratulations to them all. On two | :08:59. | :09:11.
football, and in the Championship Preston have beaten Birmingham city | :09:12. | :09:15.
2-1. Blackburn lost the Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. | :09:16. | :09:41.
I will leave you with a look at the weather. | :09:42. | :09:48.
Good evening. Today we lost the chill we have had over the last | :09:49. | :09:51.
couple of days and as we head towards the weekend the temperature | :09:52. | :09:56.
is definitely get milder, double figures by Friday and even 11 or 12 | :09:57. | :10:01.
degrees at the weekend. Damp and drizzly stuff across much of the | :10:02. | :10:05.
North West but it shouldn't last much longer. A huge amount of cloud | :10:06. | :10:13.
cover but the temperatures are between five and 7 degrees. It will | :10:14. | :10:17.
be misty and murky first thing over the tops of any hills and we won't | :10:18. | :10:22.
have to much cloud cover, not too much in the way of sunshine. As the | :10:23. | :10:28.
morning wears on 12 spots of rain, then they clear. There is an | :10:29. | :10:33.
organised area of rain after lunchtime. Quite a lot of dull, damp | :10:34. | :10:40.
and grisly stuff over the hills. Temperatures of nine or 10 degrees. | :10:41. | :10:46.
If I leave you with the outlook for the coming days you can see that | :10:47. | :10:48.
those temperatures stay with us. weather into the weekend. A bit of | :10:49. | :11:03.
fog around to watch out for. Jon Hammond with the national forecast | :11:04. | :11:05.
now. Good evening. There is some rain in | :11:06. | :11:09.
the forecast but not a lot. Plenty of dry weather to look forward to as | :11:10. | :11:15.
we head to the weekend. Cloud delivering some rain but plenty of | :11:16. | :11:20.
spaces in between, hence my optimism. One of these blobs of | :11:21. | :11:25.
cloud is producing dampness right now. We could see a glancing blow | :11:26. | :11:30.
across the far south-east through the early hours and later some rain | :11:31. | :11:34.
arriving across the far south-west. In between some hill fog overnight, | :11:35. | :11:36.
not | :11:37. | :11:38. |
