Welcome to South East Today, I'm Polly Evans. | :00:03. | :00:07.
And I'm Rob Smith. Tonight's top stories: | :00:07. | :00:10.
"Dangerous and selfish" - passengers who climbed onto the | :00:10. | :00:12.
tracks from a stranded train are condemned by police and other | :00:12. | :00:14.
commuters. Jail for a disgraced Sussex | :00:14. | :00:16.
policeman who downloaded and distributed more than 50,000 images | :00:16. | :00:21.
of child pornography. Also in tonight's programme: | :00:21. | :00:24.
The Conservative councillor in hot water for calling a constituent a | :00:24. | :00:31.
"village idiot" on Twitter. We're live tonight in Lewes. | :00:31. | :00:34.
Got 25 million to spare? Just what would prospective buyers of | :00:34. | :00:39.
Brighton Pier get for their money? # You done too much, much too | :00:39. | :00:45.
young... #. And Folkestone is two- tone-tastic as the town gears up | :00:45. | :00:55.
:00:55. | :01:01. | ||
Good evening. Rail passengers who forced their | :01:01. | :01:04.
way off a stranded Southern train and walked along the tracks to the | :01:04. | :01:07.
nearest station - after becoming frustrated with the delay to their | :01:07. | :01:11.
journey home - have been condemned by transport police. Officers say | :01:11. | :01:15.
the commuters, who forced power to the line to be shut down for an | :01:15. | :01:18.
hour during last night's rush hour, put their own lives at risk and | :01:18. | :01:28.
:01:28. | :01:33. | ||
caused massive disruption. Jon Hunt And so here I am, walking the in | :01:33. | :01:38.
high heels. At the side of the tracks. Their passenger makes a | :01:38. | :01:43.
video as she and others leave the train in frustration. They had | :01:43. | :01:49.
forced open the doors after being stranded for nearly two hours. | :01:49. | :01:53.
not going to lie, I am actually quite scared. She has reason to be. | :01:53. | :01:58.
But the third rail has just been switched back on after a trespasser | :01:58. | :02:03.
was clear from the line. Police, who had to rush to switch the power | :02:03. | :02:07.
off-again, said these passengers were taking serious risks as well | :02:07. | :02:12.
as breaking the law. Obviously, it is illegal. It is a criminal | :02:12. | :02:15.
offence to trespass on the railway and we will be looking to identify | :02:15. | :02:19.
people from this and deal with them appropriately. Because the power | :02:19. | :02:24.
had to be shut off again it caused delays to other commuters. It is | :02:24. | :02:28.
really, really annoying, because they are putting their own lives at | :02:28. | :02:31.
risk and they are being selfish, holding up thousands and thousands | :02:31. | :02:38.
of other people. The author of the video today defended her actions. | :02:38. | :02:41.
We had absolutely no information as to what was going on. The driver | :02:41. | :02:45.
didn't have a clue when we would start moving again. We waited and | :02:45. | :02:49.
we waited and saw more and more people getting off and it was when | :02:49. | :02:51.
we realised that that pretty much the entire train had got off that | :02:51. | :02:57.
we thought, let's get off. Can you poor clear-up that one there? That | :02:57. | :03:02.
is the electric one. Because they passengers took matters into their | :03:02. | :03:05.
own hands, hundreds of other commuters were stuck for an | :03:05. | :03:11.
additional hour on heart and stationary trains. -- hot. | :03:11. | :03:13.
A Sussex police sergeant who was commended for his bravery has | :03:13. | :03:15.
admitted downloading and distributing over 54,000 indecent | :03:15. | :03:20.
images of children. 26-year-old Philip Savidge used the | :03:20. | :03:23.
username "babypass 2004" on a file- sharing website to distribute | :03:23. | :03:30.
indecent images. He told detectives his collection of child pornography | :03:30. | :03:35.
spiralled out of control. Today he was jailed for 27 months. Our Home | :03:35. | :03:43.
Affairs correspondent Colin Campbell has the story. | :03:43. | :03:46.
He was a Sussex police sergeant commended for outstanding bravery, | :03:46. | :03:50.
but what nobody knew was that at home, Philip Savidge had compiled a | :03:50. | :03:54.
massive library of child pornography. Tens of thousands of | :03:54. | :03:59.
extreme images of young children, which he shared over the internet. | :03:59. | :04:03.
All indecent images of children being sexually abused are | :04:03. | :04:08.
disturbing. At all levels. And that they were particularly disturbing | :04:08. | :04:16.
with babies and toddlers. It is a case of distribution, file sharing | :04:16. | :04:21.
it, for the sexual gratification of some like-minded offenders. | :04:21. | :04:25.
Sussex police officer for six years, he told detectives his fascination | :04:25. | :04:28.
with child pornography had spiralled out of control. In total, | :04:28. | :04:34.
he admitted to 42 charges, possessing over 54,000 indecent | :04:34. | :04:40.
images, still and moving. At least 1,400 were graded at a level five, | :04:40. | :04:46.
the most extreme. In court, it was alleged he had shared the images | :04:46. | :04:55.
with other paedophiles, using the user name "babypass 2004". | :04:55. | :04:59.
Sentencing Philip Savidge to 20 -- 17 months in prison, the judge told | :04:59. | :05:03.
the former police sergeant that his offences were wicked and evil and | :05:03. | :05:06.
that each picture of represented a child being abused and that there | :05:06. | :05:10.
were an horrendous number of images being involved. Philip Savidge | :05:10. | :05:15.
resigned the day he was arrested. He was involved in various youth | :05:15. | :05:19.
organisations, a scout leader and a cricket coach. Police said they are | :05:19. | :05:24.
now trying to trace all of those he shared images with online. | :05:24. | :05:28.
In a moment, he wasn't acting alone, say Kent police hunting the | :05:28. | :05:37.
A Conservative councillor who called one of her constituents "a | :05:37. | :05:39.
village idiot" on the social networking site Twitter has been | :05:39. | :05:44.
forced to apologise. Donna Edmunds, from Lewes District | :05:44. | :05:47.
Council, made the remarks to Jim Cornelius during an online row | :05:47. | :05:55.
about whether the NHS should be privatised. Nick Miles reports. | :05:55. | :06:01.
Another political gaffe on Twitter. And this one goes to the heart of | :06:01. | :06:04.
concerns some people have about Tory Party attitudes towards the | :06:04. | :06:10.
NHS. Councillor dollar Edmonds was debating the NHS's cancer -- cancer | :06:10. | :06:20.
:06:20. | :06:30. | ||
survivor rates on Twitter with Jim The statement about cancer has been | :06:30. | :06:35.
slightly misconstrued. My point was, and I made it very badly, was that | :06:35. | :06:38.
I thought cancer outcomes could be better in this country, especially | :06:38. | :06:43.
for the level of taxes we pay. Of course, I apologise unreservedly to | :06:43. | :06:47.
anyone who was offended by the comments, cancer sufferers or NHS | :06:47. | :06:52.
staff. It is a sensitive issue and for that reason, with the response | :06:52. | :06:56.
that has come from her, she should consider her position. I don't | :06:56. | :06:59.
think it is a resigning matter but it takes more than saying sorry on | :06:59. | :07:03.
Twitter, due need to make a very public apology to bigger channels. | :07:03. | :07:08.
-- you need. This isn't the first time people have been caught out on | :07:08. | :07:15.
social media. Ashford Tory Jacquard were told a person to go back to | :07:15. | :07:19.
washing dishes. One person was told to resign after making jokes on | :07:19. | :07:23.
Twitter about blind people and anorexia. Another resigned from the | :07:23. | :07:27.
Conservative Party after reserve -- referring to local women as sluts. | :07:27. | :07:31.
None of those mistakes probably caught the eye of the Prime | :07:31. | :07:36.
Minister. This latest one just might, it is so off message. I want | :07:36. | :07:40.
politics not to take risks with the NHS, not to threaten the NHS in any | :07:40. | :07:46.
way, but to safeguard and improve the NHS for today and for future | :07:46. | :07:50.
generations. The people of Lewis and elsewhere are likely to be | :07:50. | :08:00.
:08:00. | :08:01. | ||
Back row and is it a party that says, great NHS, or died of cancer | :08:01. | :08:06.
NHS? It is a mixed message Nick Miles joins us live from Lewes | :08:06. | :08:09.
now. What does the conservative leader of Lewes District Council | :08:09. | :08:13.
have to say about this? -- Conservative. | :08:13. | :08:19.
Tania Nicol says quite a reserved man and he had some quite strong, | :08:19. | :08:23.
it's to make -- Tony Nicholson is. He said it was wholly appropriate | :08:23. | :08:27.
and it was a bash in appropriate and it was embarrassing for the | :08:27. | :08:32.
party. -- he had said it was totally inappropriate. She has made | :08:32. | :08:37.
a full apology, but nevertheless, he wants to have a full face-to- | :08:37. | :08:41.
face talk with that as soon as possible. We did try to contact | :08:41. | :08:44.
Conservative Central Office but they gave no comment. | :08:44. | :08:47.
A mother from Camber in East Sussex has pleaded not guilty to the | :08:47. | :08:51.
murder of her three-year-old daughter more than seven years ago. | :08:51. | :08:53.
33-year-old Lesley Dunford, seen here during an earlier hearing, | :08:53. | :08:56.
denies killing her daughter in February 2004. It's alleged Lucy | :08:56. | :09:02.
died from asphyxia caused by a blockage. | :09:02. | :09:05.
Train passengers on a high-speed service from London to Kent had to | :09:05. | :09:09.
be rescued this morning following a power surge on the high-speed line. | :09:09. | :09:12.
The Southeastern train was stuck in a tunnel under the Thames for more | :09:12. | :09:16.
than an hour. It was caused by electrical problems at St Pancras | :09:16. | :09:22.
International and Ebbsfleet International. | :09:22. | :09:25.
Some south-eastern and Eurostar services suffered delays of up to | :09:25. | :09:27.
two hours. Children's charities have called it | :09:27. | :09:30.
"horrifying" that a mum from Sussex is giving her four-year-old | :09:30. | :09:32.
daughter spray tans. Jools Willis, who's a trained beautician, claims | :09:33. | :09:35.
the treatment helps boost the confidence of her youngest child, | :09:35. | :09:39.
Tate. But Kidscape believes her actions - | :09:39. | :09:43.
which have become front page news - helps sexualise young children. | :09:43. | :09:51.
Rebecca Barry reports. A Sussex mother making national | :09:51. | :09:56.
headlines. And it is all down to this. Her four-year-old daughter | :09:56. | :10:01.
with a fake tan. So is Jools Willis forcing her child to grow up too | :10:01. | :10:05.
soon? She runs a beauty salon inside this leisure centre. Adults | :10:05. | :10:09.
come here for everything from their extensions to take widening, but it | :10:09. | :10:13.
is news that she is offering beauty treatments to her own children that | :10:13. | :10:17.
is causing controversy -- to the widening. My daughter is the same | :10:17. | :10:21.
age and I wouldn't do a spray tan. I don't see why she would want one, | :10:21. | :10:28.
and why I would need to do it. should be doing children's thinks. | :10:28. | :10:33.
That is an adult thing to do. she should be enjoying it, not | :10:34. | :10:38.
worrying about what she looks like. Ena Brown is serious, Sky enters | :10:39. | :10:46.
the world of pushy parents. Jools Willis and her children appear in a | :10:46. | :10:50.
new documentary starting next week. Some parents say they are | :10:50. | :10:53.
centralising their children. Predators believe that children are | :10:53. | :10:58.
sexual beings and best plays right into their court. It is really an | :10:58. | :11:02.
necessary. -- this. This summer, a government report called for tough | :11:02. | :11:07.
measures to tackle just this. Four year-old Tate was born be done in | :11:07. | :11:11.
one hand. Her mother says beauty treatments help to boost her | :11:11. | :11:18.
confidence -- with only. You've been commenting on this | :11:18. | :11:22.
story on our Facebook page - here are a couple of your views. | :11:22. | :11:25.
Simon James says "That's just wrong, totally wrong!". | :11:25. | :11:28.
While Chris Searle says "Surely there must be other ways to boost | :11:28. | :11:32.
her daughter's confidence? If however the mother has narrowed it | :11:32. | :11:36.
down to this one issue and it does her no harm then why not give it a | :11:37. | :11:44.
try? We want to know what you think. So should parents be free to give | :11:44. | :11:47.
their young children these beauty treatments or does it amount to the | :11:47. | :11:49.
sexualisation of children? You can get involved in the debate | :11:49. | :11:59.

In the 112 years of its existence, Brighton Pier has survived being | :12:04. | :12:08.
rammed by a barge, storms and a fire - and now the agents selling | :12:08. | :12:10.
it say there has been strong interest from potential buyers. | :12:10. | :12:13.
The current owners have invested some 35 million and anyone taking | :12:13. | :12:16.
it on may have to pay out a similar sum. | :12:16. | :12:21.
Chrissie Reidy is at the pier now - so what do you get for your money? | :12:21. | :12:25.
Well, what you see is what you get above which this evening, isn't a | :12:25. | :12:29.
great deal, but for nearly 30 million, you even get the | :12:29. | :12:33.
fairground rides are thrown in. It is Grade 2 listed so there will be | :12:33. | :12:37.
restrictions, but speaking to people today, whoever buys it, they | :12:37. | :12:40.
wanted kept as a tears. Visitors have been flocking to | :12:40. | :12:44.
Brighton Pier since the late 19th century, symbolising an era when | :12:44. | :12:47.
the South Coast became more accessible and British folk could | :12:47. | :12:52.
holiday by the sea. It survived two world wars and some of the harshest | :12:52. | :12:55.
weather conditions, I get the Victorian structure is still | :12:55. | :13:00.
standing and is as popular now as it was then -- yet. It is a symbol | :13:00. | :13:05.
of the resurgent seaside. It is a key focus attraction for Brighton. | :13:05. | :13:10.
And I think that in itself really keeps the appeal of Brighton Pier | :13:11. | :13:16.
going and going. Fashions may have come and gone but the pier remains | :13:16. | :13:20.
one of the most treasured landmarks on the south coast. I don't really | :13:20. | :13:24.
wanted to change. I am quite happy with everything we have got here. | :13:24. | :13:29.
Brighton is a wonderful place at the Pier is superb. I like the | :13:29. | :13:33.
architecture. I like the way they have brought some of it then, like | :13:33. | :13:40.
the night -- nice art by the fish- and-chip shop. I was brought up in | :13:40. | :13:43.
Brighton and I would like to bring my boy, we don't live here and come | :13:43. | :13:49.
down time to time. It is Brighton Pier, the one and only. And the one | :13:49. | :13:53.
and only pier comes with a whopping price tag of around 30 million. | :13:53. | :13:57.
Mind you, that does include all fixtures and fittings. It does have | :13:57. | :14:02.
its own security. Is it a bargain? I think it is that there is | :14:02. | :14:05.
potential for the new owners to make more money. But it is like the | :14:05. | :14:09.
Forth Bridge, you have to keep painting it from one end to the | :14:09. | :14:13.
other constantly. It has been here 100 years, could it be here another | :14:13. | :14:19.
100? I think so, another 300 or 400 if it is maintained properly. | :14:19. | :14:22.
Whoever buys it will have to appreciate its importance to the | :14:22. | :14:26.
people of Brighton. The only thing you cannot be sure of here is the | :14:26. | :14:30.
sunshine. So the Noble Group took over the | :14:30. | :14:35.
peer back in 1984. I understand this evening that there is interest | :14:35. | :14:39.
from foreign investors -- took over the pier. But we probably won't | :14:39. | :14:41.
until the new year what is happening. | :14:41. | :14:45.
The top story tonight: rail passengers who forced their way off | :14:46. | :14:48.
of a stranded Southern Trains and walked along the tracks to the | :14:48. | :14:51.
nearest station after becoming frustrated with delays have been | :14:51. | :14:55.
condemned as dangerous and selfish by Transport Police and other | :14:55. | :15:02.
commuters forced up Also tonight: the louder than a low flying | :15:02. | :15:09.
aircraft, German Touring cars come to Brands Hatch this weekend. | :15:09. | :15:14.
And a collection of ska: Folkestone revise the Two Tone beat than the | :15:14. | :15:21.
night -- late 1970s. -- from the late 1970s. | :15:21. | :15:26.
Detectives investigating two bomb hoaxes that caused major lads in | :15:26. | :15:29.
Canterbury say they believe the offender was not acting alone -- | :15:29. | :15:33.
alerts. A week on from the incident, police have been speaking to | :15:33. | :15:38.
shoppers as part of the investigation. | :15:38. | :15:44.
We are just appealing for one of these. Seven days after a suspect | :15:44. | :15:47.
packages caused lockdown in Canterbury city centre, at the | :15:47. | :15:53.
police still want to identify this man, he was caught on CCTV near | :15:53. | :15:58.
Marks and Spencers. That was before a fire alarm was set up under hoax | :15:58. | :16:03.
bomb was found in the store. actually believe there is more than | :16:03. | :16:06.
one person connected to these offences, but the principal person | :16:06. | :16:10.
is the person who is in the imagery that we have put out from the Marks | :16:10. | :16:17.
& Spencer CCTV. This is an organised and well planned attempt, | :16:17. | :16:21.
a serious attempt to disrupt the people of Canterbury. So what | :16:21. | :16:26.
happened and went last Friday? At 4:21pm, a suspect package was found | :16:26. | :16:30.
on the railway line by the Phoenix Park on the Old Dover Road. Nearly | :16:30. | :16:36.
an hour later, a fire alarm was activated in Marks & Spencer and | :16:36. | :16:40.
just minutes after that, the city centre was evacuated, well into the | :16:40. | :16:46.
early hours of Saturday morning. Security experts say that any | :16:46. | :16:50.
suspect package that took hours for bomb disposal teams have to make | :16:50. | :16:57.
safe must have been unusually sophisticated. When it gets to this | :16:57. | :17:01.
degree of sophistication, I think we are talking about several people. | :17:01. | :17:07.
One may be leading a, one may be competent to deal with creating an | :17:07. | :17:11.
atmosphere and the technical work associated with a bomb. This | :17:11. | :17:15.
afternoon, police were asking shoppers if they noticed anything | :17:15. | :17:19.
suspicious last Friday. They also confirmed that no one has claimed | :17:19. | :17:23.
responsibility for the hoax bombs, and therefore the motive remains a | :17:23. | :17:33.

Folkestone is preparing to welcome crowds of skinheads and Mods this | :17:42. | :17:45.
weekend as Skabour Festival gets under way. It kicks off tonight | :17:45. | :17:48.
with two of the big bands that trace their history to the two-tone | :17:48. | :17:53.
music of the seventies, the selector and Beat. | :17:53. | :17:59.
Ska kicked off in the 1950s, drawing on a fusion of jazz, reggae | :17:59. | :18:03.
and blues. In the sixties, it became popular with British bards | :18:03. | :18:13.

perceive us as outsiders, whereas we don't. We perceive other people | :18:33. | :18:39.
as outsiders! It is the first time I have ever come back here. When | :18:39. | :18:48.
you hear that peak, you can't help but tap your feet. -- beat. | :18:48. | :18:51.
weekend is a big celebration for people who feel this sort of music | :18:51. | :18:56.
has never really been away. There is no doubt about their looks or | :18:56. | :19:01.
their manager, but what do they all talk about? The music -- that their | :19:01. | :19:10.
manner. Ska was at the heart of reggae and Two Tone beat in the | :19:10. | :19:16.
1970s and the 1980s. I don't think ska music has ever gone away. It | :19:16. | :19:20.
hadn't gone away when we first started. I see what we do as to | :19:20. | :19:28.
turn music. And that was political in its day? -- two-tone. Is any | :19:28. | :19:36.
music not political? Here are two celebrities of the ska scene. | :19:36. | :19:42.
to come from Jamaica. And we are right by the sea. It is Neville | :19:42. | :19:50.
staple of The Specials and his lifelong friend and DJ, Trevor. | :19:50. | :19:58.
The I will tell you what keeps it fresh, but fans. The bash at the | :19:58. | :20:02.
fans. I am working on a new album, but they keep shouting out for the | :20:02. | :20:08.
old stuff. That is what we do. And I love it. And he is just here to | :20:08. | :20:13.
mingle and there to watch, like them. To be together, to remember | :20:13. | :20:21.
the good old days and celebrate their music, that is still alive. | :20:21. | :20:25.
And lovely weather for it as well. Vorsprung Durch Technik will be the | :20:25. | :20:28.
catchphrase of the weekend at Brands Hatch, where the latest leg | :20:28. | :20:30.
of the German touring car championships are taking place. | :20:30. | :20:36.
Not only that, but there's some important football matches. Neil | :20:36. | :20:39.
Bell is in Chatham - and Gillingham and Crawley are both looking to | :20:39. | :20:44.
bounce back from defeats tomorrow. Yes, both teams came down to earth | :20:44. | :20:50.
with a bit of a bump. The Gills will be keen to forget their 3-0 | :20:50. | :20:56.
thumping at Rotherham. All of them second half goals. It won't be easy, | :20:56. | :20:59.
because they have been beset by a virus which has hit a number of | :20:59. | :21:04.
players, including striker Dani cared well. We have had quite a lot | :21:04. | :21:12.
of illness. There is concerns over Danny for the weekend. I think it | :21:12. | :21:16.
has gone around the staff as well and it has not been particularly | :21:16. | :21:19.
nice. We are hoping they will be OK for the weekend but at the moment, | :21:20. | :21:26.
they are doubtful. It's a long long time since Crawley | :21:26. | :21:29.
lost three games in a week. Last Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Cheltenham | :21:29. | :21:32.
was sandwiched by early exits from the Carling Cup and Johstone Paint | :21:32. | :21:35.
Trophy, but they will be confident of getting back on track against | :21:35. | :21:37.
Bristol Rovers tomorrow. Now, what travels at close to | :21:37. | :21:42.
200mph and is louder than a low flying aircraft? The answer is a | :21:42. | :21:48.
German touring car. There will be plenty of them in action this | :21:48. | :21:53.
weekend. The big race on Sunday has attracted a number of Formula One | :21:53. | :21:57.
legends, including Ralf Schumacher and David Coulthard. They are | :21:57. | :22:03.
expecting crowds of up to 25,000. Rottingdean Cricket club are the | :22:03. | :22:07.
third Sussex side in the last five years to make it through to the | :22:07. | :22:09.
final of the National Village Cup competition. They will take on | :22:09. | :22:12.
Lancashire side Woodhouses on Sunday in a 40-over match at the | :22:12. | :22:22.
:22:22. | :22:23. | ||
home of cricket, Lords. It is great, having seen them come up through | :22:23. | :22:30.
the ranks. I just hope they win, but as long as it is a good game, | :22:30. | :22:36.
the game first, the team's second than yourself a third. Let's hope | :22:36. | :22:39.
they have a great day out. A friendly, Brighton & Hove Albion | :22:39. | :22:45.
fans, they have finally signed Rodriguez. He will hopefully be | :22:45. | :22:48.
involved in the next day made over a week's time. | :22:48. | :22:52.
Sunshine in Chatham, sunshine in Rottingdean, it is everywhere. | :22:52. | :22:56.
I think it is a case of enjoy it while you can. | :22:56. | :23:00.
I think so, the weekend will be part of two halves. It has been | :23:01. | :23:04.
lovely and bright today, and lovely and bright today, and | :23:04. | :23:05.
Saturday will be slightly similar but unfortunately, there are some | :23:05. | :23:10.
thundery showers overnight into Sunday and Sunday itself, it will | :23:10. | :23:15.
be a wet picture, particularly compared to Saturday. Earlier today, | :23:15. | :23:18.
there was some fair weather cloud around but it hasn't affected the | :23:18. | :23:24.
Bryden has too much, just turning the sunshine hazy. -- brightness. A | :23:24. | :23:28.
slightly humid and muddy field to the day and temperatures in the 20s | :23:28. | :23:37.
So plenty of the evening sunshine around, and we are holding on to | :23:37. | :23:41.
those clear skies overnight. So mist around and some ploughed | :23:41. | :23:46.
reforming it, but despite those clearer skies, a pretty mild night | :23:46. | :23:51.
-- cloud of reforming. Not getting above 13 degrees. Saturday, it will | :23:51. | :23:55.
be warm unsettled and bright. Will we start off with a little more | :23:55. | :23:58.
cloud and as we move into the afternoon, the cloud cover will | :23:58. | :24:03.
burn off Mallett -- plenty of sunshine. South-westerly winds, | :24:03. | :24:08.
pretty light, and temperatures very similar to today. Highs of 24 | :24:08. | :24:13.
degrees. As we move into tomorrow night, it will initially stay dry | :24:13. | :24:16.
but we do have some thundery showers moving up from the near | :24:16. | :24:20.
Continent and currently, there is some level of uncertainty about how | :24:20. | :24:25.
far inland they are going to go but they look like they will clip the | :24:25. | :24:30.
far east coast of Kent. Elsewhere, plenty of cloud around, pretty mild, | :24:30. | :24:35.
temperatures not much below 14 degrees. Sunday, it is all change. | :24:35. | :24:39.
We have a weather front, and an associated band of rain. A wet | :24:39. | :24:43.
start to the day and that's the front players, we are left with | :24:43. | :24:48.
some showery outbreaks of rain -- as the front players. Temperatures | :24:48. | :24:51.
will feel significantly cooler, struggling to get much above 18 | :24:51. | :24:57.
degrees. As you can see, we have this weather front, clearing East | :24:57. | :25:01.
on Sunday morning, and we will see some further outbreaks of rain. As | :25:01. | :25:05.
we move into next week, it will be fairly quiet weather-wise, still | :25:05. | :25:10.
feeling cooler and temperatures in the top teams. A weekend of two | :25:10. | :25:14.
halves, tomorrow should be dry and settled, and thundery outbreaks as | :25:14. | :25:20.
we move into Sunday, which will be unsettled. Highs of around 18 | :25:20. | :25:23.
degrees and as we move into next week, settled but still feeling | :25:24. | :25:29.
week, settled but still feeling rather call. -- Pool. | :25:29. | :25:33.
Let's recap tonight half backs top story. Libya's National | :25:33. | :25:36.
Transitional Council says most of the country is now secure and safe | :25:36. | :25:40.
and it is just a matter of time before Colonel Gaddafi is caught or | :25:40. | :25:46.
killed. The former Libyan leader has about two -- fared to fight a | :25:46. | :25:52.
long guerrilla war. A member of Lewes District Council | :25:52. | :25:57.
who called a constituent a village idiot on Twitter has been forced to | :25:57. | :26:01.
apologise. And outrage at a woman who giving a | :26:01. | :26:05.
her four-year-old daughter spray tan. She claims that it boost the | :26:05. | :26:08.
confidence of her youngest child. We ask your views and we have had | :26:08. | :26:13.
lots of comments. One says, more and more children | :26:13. | :26:17.
losing their innocence. What happened to being covered in mud at | :26:17. | :26:19.
the age of four? Another says it is putting out a | :26:19. | :26:23.
terrible message that the that the lovely skin and hair tone of a | :26:23. | :26:28.
child can be changed to make them look more attractive. It is more | :26:28. | :26:31.
invasive than playing with lipstick for fun. | :26:31. | :26:34.
Victoria has gone against this and says she remembers putting on her | :26:34. | :26:38.
mother's make-up when she was about six and she got told off for doing | :26:38. | :26:42.
good. Most kids play with the parents' break-up, is this not just | :26:42. | :26:49.
a more controlled and less messy She believes children should be | :26:49. | :26:54.
children and should not be moving - - wearing make-up at that age. She | :26:54. | :26:57.
thinks that children should enjoy their childhood and not grow up too | :26:57. | :27:01.
fast. Robert says it is a thin line, or | :27:01. | :27:05.
we allow children to dress up and use their mother's make-up, but | :27:05. | :27:09.
spray tan and adult clothing is way beyond any line a sane adult would | :27:09. | :27:13.
draw. This one from Valerie says she | :27:13. | :27:16.
thinks it is disgusting and that if her daughter has such low | :27:16. | :27:20.
confidence at such a young age, the question should be why and how to | :27:20. | :27:24.
boosted. This is the wrong way to do it. She says that in slightly | :27:25. | :27:29.
stronger language! And Linda Wilson says, how lovely, | :27:29. | :27:32.
just the right thing to show up that pierced belly button. | :27:32. | :27:37. |
