Welcome to South East Today, with Polly Evans and John Young. | :00:02. | :00:07.
Tonight's top stories: The little boy whose mother died at his birth | :00:07. | :00:13.
- a hospital in Kent pays out and says sorry. I'm pretty sure they | :00:13. | :00:16.
are sorry but it don't mean nothing. It's just another apology in a list | :00:16. | :00:18.
of apologies. Beaten up by poachers when he tried | :00:19. | :00:22.
to prevent them from stealing fish from a lake in Kent - we have an | :00:22. | :00:32.
:00:32. | :00:34. | ||
exclusive interview. Also tonight, a silk dress featured in a painting | :00:34. | :00:37.
at Scotney Castle was rediscovered in an attic. | :00:37. | :00:40.
Holly - you are amazing and in a second, I'm going to ask you to | :00:41. | :00:44.
marry me. Also in tonight's programme, a blockbuster of a | :00:44. | :00:47.
marriage proposal. How a Kent man played out his own movie romance on | :00:47. | :00:50.
the silver screen. He's bought one drink with two | :00:50. | :00:53.
straws and my mum said, "pack him up and find someone who'll buy | :00:53. | :01:00.
two!" And romantic gestures to warm the heart on a cold and damp | :01:00. | :01:10.
:01:10. | :01:15. | ||
Good evening. A husband from Kent, whose wife died hours after giving | :01:15. | :01:18.
birth to their son, has received a six-figure payout from the Darent | :01:18. | :01:22.
Valley Hospital in Dartford. Lauren Gard died from HELLP syndrome, a | :01:22. | :01:26.
form of pre-eclampsia, which could have been treated. Her husband | :01:26. | :01:28.
Merlin is campaigning to raise awareness of the condition on what | :01:28. | :01:37.
would have been her 32nd birthday. Baby Charlie Hall to a picture of | :01:37. | :01:41.
his mother who died just 12 hours after he was died -- holds a | :01:41. | :01:47.
picture. I just want to hold her hand and make a proud. The only way | :01:48. | :01:52.
I can do that is to live a good life and bring up a good son. | :01:52. | :02:00.
Warren was just 26. She died from - - Lauren, and died from a form of | :02:00. | :02:03.
pre-eclampsia. It causes high blood pressure and if caught soon enough, | :02:03. | :02:08.
it can be treated. It is the most joyous, wonderful event and then | :02:08. | :02:13.
within a few hours it was a tragedy. Of course for Charlie, his birthday | :02:14. | :02:18.
is his mother's date of death. He will never know her. Today, the | :02:18. | :02:22.
trust in charge of the hospital have again offered their sincere | :02:22. | :02:26.
condolences and deepest sympathies to Mr Gard, Charlie and the rest of | :02:26. | :02:29.
the family. They said the are pleased that the authorities have | :02:29. | :02:35.
been able to settle the claim and wish the family well. Hammett times | :02:35. | :02:39.
have we seen trusts up and down the country so they are sorry for the | :02:39. | :02:43.
pain caused and they wish it didn't happen. I am pretty sure they are | :02:43. | :02:49.
sorry but it don't mean nothing. It is just another apology in a list. | :02:49. | :02:52.
If they truly wanted to do something about it, they would grab | :02:52. | :02:55.
the be damaged by the scruff of the neck and look at what is going | :02:55. | :02:58.
wrong. You have to deal with all of that, losing your wife and then you | :02:58. | :03:03.
had to go through five years of court battles to get to this point | :03:03. | :03:10.
now. Do it wasn't financially motivated. No amount of money will | :03:10. | :03:14.
bring back Lauren and Charlie has lost his mother. I have lost my | :03:14. | :03:19.
best friend. The better part of me, to be honest. All I wanted to find | :03:19. | :03:23.
that is what went wrong so we can get closure. In a couple of months, | :03:23. | :03:27.
never more run the London Marathon for the 4th time since Lauren died. | :03:27. | :03:32.
He wants to raise more awareness about pre-eclampsia to prevent | :03:32. | :03:35.
children like Charlie growing up without a mother. | :03:35. | :03:38.
Joining me now is Professor Catherine Nelson-Piercy, who is a | :03:38. | :03:40.
professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Guy's and St | :03:40. | :03:50.
:03:50. | :03:53. | ||
Thomas's Hospital. Thank you for joining us. How rare is HELLP | :03:53. | :03:57.
syndrome and pre-eclampsia in general? Pre-eclampsia in general | :03:57. | :04:02.
is not that rare, it affects between two and 8% of women. HELLP | :04:02. | :04:10.
syndrome is less common but a well recognised form of pre-eclampsia. | :04:10. | :04:14.
These are symptoms that staff should be able to identify? Yes, | :04:14. | :04:19.
the charity Action for pre- eclampsia is about educating health | :04:19. | :04:25.
care professionals and the symptoms of Priya some -- of pre-eclampsia | :04:25. | :04:28.
and HELLP syndrome include headaches and we want to educate | :04:28. | :04:31.
people to make sure that all professionals recognise the | :04:31. | :04:35.
symptoms and act appropriately. This is obviously an individual | :04:35. | :04:41.
case but it is worrying, isn't it, that these symptoms were not | :04:41. | :04:47.
necessarily spotted? If they will ever be recognised and is there a | :04:47. | :04:51.
day when pre-eclampsia is not a risk to pregnant women? I don't | :04:51. | :04:56.
think so. We strive to prevent all deaths but the trouble is that | :04:56. | :05:03.
sentence like abdominal pain and headaches are very common during | :05:03. | :05:07.
childbirth and the job is to spot the extreme cases so appropriate | :05:07. | :05:11.
action can be taken. And if anyone is concerned, presumably the first | :05:11. | :05:16.
thing they should do is contact their Dr or healthcare provider? | :05:16. | :05:21.
Their midwife, GP or as you say the hospital. Thank you. | :05:21. | :05:24.
And if you want to know more about pre-eclampsia and the symptoms to | :05:24. | :05:27.
look out for, we've put the details on our Kent website - | :05:27. | :05:31.
bbc.co.uk/kent. A pensioner from Margate has been | :05:31. | :05:34.
talking of the terrifying moment he was attacked by two poachers | :05:34. | :05:38.
brandishing harpoons. Bob Stead confronted the men who were | :05:38. | :05:42.
planning to spear carp from the lake he fishes at in Sandwich. He | :05:42. | :05:44.
believes the poachers were from Eastern Europe wanting to take the | :05:44. | :05:53.
fish home to eat. Simon Jones He helps patrol the lake but found | :05:53. | :05:58.
himself confronted by men with harpoons. I was walking down, | :05:58. | :06:04.
checking tickets and memberships and so forth. I saw these two young | :06:04. | :06:10.
guys walking towards me. I saw they had harpoons, home-made, crude | :06:10. | :06:17.
weapons. They said, "we fish" and I said you don't with those horrible | :06:17. | :06:26.
things. I snatched them off them and received a punch in the ribs | :06:26. | :06:32.
and I reacted quite naturally with my stick. Freshwater fish like carp | :06:32. | :06:36.
are a staple diet in some European countries and like here where | :06:36. | :06:42.
people fish for sport and then put them back alive. Whoever is | :06:42. | :06:47.
responsible for poaching, it is not fair according to the anglers. | :06:47. | :06:54.
pay money to join this club. We are licensed and and at the end of the | :06:54. | :06:58.
day, it is about 100 to join some clubs and then some person comes | :06:59. | :07:03.
along and pinches the fish. Stead called the police but the men | :07:03. | :07:10.
made their escape. To my mind, to see an animal speed that is | :07:10. | :07:17.
barbaric. Totally barbaric. -- animal speed. To take it away for | :07:17. | :07:25.
food, that is our sport -- animal Speared. It is totally repulsive. | :07:25. | :07:28.
And he said he would not hesitate to confront poacher's again to | :07:28. | :07:32.
protect the fish. And Simon joins us live now. How | :07:32. | :07:41.
big a problem is poaching there? Despite the cold tonight, there are | :07:41. | :07:46.
still some fishermen here. They are passionate about their sport. The | :07:46. | :07:49.
association which runs the lake here says poaching is a big problem | :07:49. | :07:53.
and poachers will try anything they can to get hold of a fish. It can | :07:53. | :07:59.
be lucrative. Each fish in the water can fetch around 1,000. The | :07:59. | :08:02.
advice from the association to people like Bob is if they suspect | :08:02. | :08:06.
people of poaching, they should not come from them but walk away and | :08:06. | :08:09.
contact the police or the Environment Agency who take the | :08:09. | :08:19.
:08:19. | :08:20. | ||
Coming up, concerns for Transport for London to take over Kent | :08:20. | :08:30.

businessman was crushed to death after interrupting a gang of | :08:37. | :08:39.
professional burglars at his farm. Julian Gardner, who was 53, was | :08:39. | :08:42.
woken by intruders at his farm in Robertsbridge where he repaired | :08:42. | :08:45.
agricultural machinery back in October 2010. Six men deny charges | :08:45. | :08:47.
including manslaughter and conspiracy to commit burglary. A | :08:47. | :08:55.
seventh man denies conspiracy to Julian Garda was a slip when | :08:55. | :09:01.
burglars ransacked his business. Today a court heard how during the | :09:02. | :09:05.
October day in 2010, he picked up one of the shot guns when he heard | :09:05. | :09:11.
the disturbance. The prosecution say it was a decision that will go | :09:11. | :09:16.
on to cost him his life. He was crushed between two vehicles. In | :09:16. | :09:20.
the opening arguments of the prosecution, the jury heard a | :09:20. | :09:22.
description, how Mr Gardner's stolen Land Rover was driven | :09:22. | :09:28.
through a metal gate to exit the scene. It was later found burnt out. | :09:28. | :09:33.
Six men aged between 23 and 41 are charged with manslaughter, | :09:33. | :09:39.
conspiracy to commit burglary and to pervert the course of justice. A | :09:39. | :09:42.
7th man is charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice | :09:42. | :09:47.
but all the defendants deny the charges. | :09:47. | :09:51.
An inquest into the death of an angler, who was found dead in his | :09:51. | :09:54.
tent by the River Medway after going on an overnight fishing trip | :09:54. | :09:57.
on one of the coldest nights of the winter, has been opened and | :09:57. | :10:00.
adjourned. Martin Hoskins, who was 48, was discovered by a friend by | :10:00. | :10:02.
the river at East Peckham on 3rd February after overnight | :10:02. | :10:06.
temperatures of minus 11. Police are not treating his death as | :10:06. | :10:15.
Thuxton police station was closed earlier on after a suspicious | :10:15. | :10:19.
package arrived. The area was cordoned off as a precaution. | :10:19. | :10:26.
Investigations are continuing. A Sussex man has been found guilty | :10:26. | :10:29.
of harassing his ex-girlfriend and setting fire to her mother's home. | :10:29. | :10:32.
Al Amin Dhalla from Brighton was convicted at Lewes Crown Court of | :10:32. | :10:34.
harassing trainee doctor Alison Hewitt and her mother, Pamela | :10:34. | :10:38.
Hewitt. Our reporter Mark Sanders has been in court, and joins me now. | :10:38. | :10:46.
What happened today? The jury has been considering 10 counts against | :10:46. | :10:50.
Al Amin Dhalla and this afternoon, they came back with a verdict on | :10:50. | :10:55.
seven of those. He was found guilty of harassing his ex, Alison Hewitt | :10:55. | :10:58.
in Brighton. They formed a relationship but when she broke it | :10:58. | :11:03.
off, he could not handle it and harassed her. He also was convicted | :11:03. | :11:08.
of harassing her mother, Pamela Hewitt but the jury found him not | :11:08. | :11:13.
guilty of two other serious charges. Putting a person in fear of | :11:13. | :11:17.
violence by harassment. The jury found him guilty though of starting | :11:17. | :11:22.
a fire at Pamela Hewitt's home and also the attempted arson of a | :11:22. | :11:26.
police station that was nearby. Looking ahead to tomorrow, what are | :11:26. | :11:30.
we anticipating will happen tomorrow? The jury still have a lot | :11:30. | :11:34.
of work to do. They have to consider three more charges against | :11:34. | :11:37.
Al Amin Dhalla. Possession of an offensive weapon, theft and | :11:37. | :11:41.
perverting the course of justice. Throughout the case, Al Amin Dhalla | :11:41. | :11:45.
has protested innocence but tonight he is guilty of seven significant | :11:45. | :11:50.
charges. The MP for Sevenoaks has said today | :11:50. | :11:53.
he will lobby the Government to make sure Kent commuters don't lose | :11:53. | :11:56.
out if train lines into the town are taken over by Transport for | :11:56. | :11:59.
London. It emerged yesterday that new plans by the Mayor of London | :11:59. | :12:02.
would see some services into Dartford and Sevenoaks taken away | :12:02. | :12:12.
from Southeastern. Sara Smith's Should these services be more like | :12:12. | :12:22.
these services? Replaced by services by London overground. TfL | :12:22. | :12:25.
takes over the franchises, this is what bosses say passengers between | :12:25. | :12:29.
Dartford, Sevenoaks and the capital will get. They will get a very much | :12:29. | :12:34.
better service in my view and more frequent service. More stations and | :12:34. | :12:37.
cleaner stations than they do already and they will be part of a | :12:37. | :12:42.
great network with lovely trains, coming and picking them up and | :12:42. | :12:45.
whizzing them to London. The mayor says Transport for London currently | :12:45. | :12:49.
runs services of higher quality and lower cost than Southeastern. The | :12:49. | :12:54.
new franchise would go as far as Sevenoaks and Dartford and the | :12:54. | :12:57.
promise is that stations on the routes would be improved and always | :12:57. | :13:03.
staffed. The proposals come as Boris Johnson steep -- Boris | :13:03. | :13:08.
Johnson seeks a second term. Michael Fallon vote today, had a | :13:08. | :13:11.
meeting with TfL and was expressing concerns for those outside the | :13:11. | :13:16.
capital. Will be lobbying the Secretary of State for Transport | :13:16. | :13:21.
now on the future of the next franchise for Kent trains. Asking | :13:21. | :13:26.
for reassurance that this particular proposal goes ahead, for | :13:26. | :13:29.
a turn up and go stopping service going into London that will not | :13:29. | :13:34.
slow down long-distance commuters and that the fares will be kept | :13:34. | :13:37.
under control because we do not vote for the mayor. A poor | :13:37. | :13:40.
commuters, it is less about whose name is on the trains, more about | :13:40. | :13:44.
how often they turn up and how much it costs to get aboard. | :13:44. | :13:48.
Sara joins us now live from City Hall in London. So Michael Fallon | :13:48. | :13:55.
had this meeting with TfL, what kind of assurances did he get? He | :13:55. | :14:01.
was pretty bullish yesterday. possibly warming up to the idea | :14:01. | :14:04.
because he said he got some of the answers he wanted but not all of | :14:04. | :14:10.
them. He understands now that the non-stop services between Sevenoaks | :14:10. | :14:13.
and London, they will not be any slower because of the new services | :14:13. | :14:17.
but the fares will be controlled by the mayor and with elections coming | :14:17. | :14:22.
up, there is no saying who that will be. Having said that, both the | :14:22. | :14:27.
leading candidates say they are probably for these proposals and | :14:27. | :14:32.
both candidates insist they will mean a better deal for passengers. | :14:32. | :14:37.
Thank you. Our main news tonight. A husband from Kent, whose wife died | :14:37. | :14:40.
hours after giving birth to their son, has received a six-figure | :14:40. | :14:44.
payout from the Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford. Lauren Gard | :14:44. | :14:46.
died from a condition called pre- eclampsia, which could have been | :14:47. | :14:52.
treated. Also in tonight's programme: as | :14:52. | :14:55.
pretty as a picture - how a beautiful dress, worn in a painting | :14:55. | :14:58.
by a forgotten resident of Scotney Castle is rediscovered in the attic. | :14:58. | :15:02.
And a "reel" love story - how a Kent man was inspired by the | :15:02. | :15:12.
:15:12. | :15:13. | ||
romance of the silver screen to A group of cyclists, hoping to | :15:13. | :15:17.
strike gold at the London Olympics in less than six months' time, had | :15:17. | :15:21.
some expert tuition today. Jamie Staff, the cyclist from Ashford who | :15:21. | :15:25.
took gold at Beijing four years ago, gave the American team an insight | :15:25. | :15:35.
:15:35. | :15:35. | ||
into how it's done. Peter Jamie Staff is used to being part | :15:35. | :15:41.
of a winning team. He took gold in Beijing and now as the USA cycling | :15:41. | :15:46.
coach, he has brought some American Olympic hopefuls to his home town, | :15:46. | :15:51.
Ashford, as part of their training schedule. The premise was that if | :15:51. | :15:56.
any come to the Olympics, I want them to focus on that and being in | :15:56. | :16:01.
London. That was the general idea behind it. Get the tourists stuff | :16:01. | :16:07.
out of the way. This is his first job as a coach. But having this on | :16:07. | :16:09.
his curriculum vitae has inspired the team. | :16:09. | :16:16.
COMMENTATOR: Olympic champions, Great Britain. We all know who he | :16:16. | :16:21.
was because of the legend he is in sport and you come in and there he | :16:21. | :16:26.
is. It is really special getting to see where he grew up and trained. | :16:26. | :16:32.
And giving us a part of his life. Jamie is proud of his home county | :16:32. | :16:35.
so no training session would be complete without a trip to his | :16:35. | :16:39.
local. And for some, seeing a group of international athletes in the | :16:39. | :16:44.
bar was a real treat. That was lovely. You see them in their | :16:44. | :16:54.
:16:54. | :16:57. | ||
micro! I have never seen Jamie with his white costume on. No homecoming | :16:57. | :17:01.
would be complete without some home-grown fans. And Jamie is keen | :17:01. | :17:05.
to promote cycling to the next generation. Got the hang of it? | :17:06. | :17:15.
:17:16. | :17:17. | ||
There's a painting of a beautiful woman sitting on the bastion above | :17:17. | :17:21.
Scotney Castle, on display at the site in Kent. Very little is known | :17:21. | :17:24.
about the subject, Rosamond Hussey, but her dress is striking - black | :17:24. | :17:29.
and white stripes and made of billowing silk. And guess what | :17:29. | :17:32.
staff discovered when clearing out the attic recently? The very dress, | :17:32. | :17:36.
of course, worn by Rosamond in the painting. It's reckoned to be about | :17:36. | :17:39.
100 years old and taken 200 hours and several thousand pounds to | :17:39. | :17:44.
restore. And now it's on show to the public for the first time. | :17:44. | :17:54.
:17:54. | :17:58. | ||
IT is 1912, Rosamund Hussey is having her portrait painted. A | :17:58. | :18:02.
century later, that very dress she wore for the sitting has been | :18:02. | :18:08.
repaired, restored and now revealed. We did not know a lot about was a | :18:08. | :18:13.
man before so having the textiles, it gives us more of a layout of the | :18:13. | :18:20.
history -- not a lot was known about was a month before. Having | :18:20. | :18:23.
the textiles and the photographs and the oil painting, it gives us | :18:23. | :18:33.
:18:33. | :18:34. | ||
more of a rounded image of her as a And she was a woman who loved this | :18:34. | :18:39.
dress with its tiny waist. It is clear she wore it many times, by | :18:39. | :18:44.
the work needed to bring it back to life from its box in the attic. | :18:44. | :18:52.
The dress was are hardly in good condition -- was initially in good | :18:52. | :18:56.

who commissioned the portrait. He then charted its progress through | :19:20. | :19:23.
photographs and the couple also kept the original sketch of the | :19:23. | :19:26.
painting. To have all the elements relating | :19:26. | :19:32.
to a portrait - the photos, the sketch and now the dress itself, is | :19:32. | :19:36.
quite unique to Scotney Castle and perhaps indicative of just how | :19:36. | :19:43.
special this portrait was. To the couple and now the to Scotney | :19:43. | :19:53.

Gillingham missed the chance to return to the League Two play-off | :19:56. | :20:01.
places last night. They were 2-0 down by half-time against Southend | :20:01. | :20:06.
at the Priestfield Stadium. A 15 yard shot was rifled in early on | :20:06. | :20:10.
but Gillingham were unable to force an equaliser. It is the team's 4th | :20:10. | :20:13.
straight defeat. Brighton and Hove Albion could get | :20:13. | :20:17.
back into the championship play-off places with victory over Millwall | :20:17. | :20:23.

We weren't going to let Valentine's Day pass without bringing you | :21:02. | :21:07.
something romantic, so how's this for a high-risk marriage proposal? | :21:07. | :21:10.
Richard Smith and Holly Lawton- Smith, who live in Walderslade, met | :21:10. | :21:13.
at college. Six years later, Richard knew he wanted to marry his | :21:13. | :21:19.
sweetheart. Stuck for an idea for a memorable proposal, he turned to | :21:19. | :21:24.
the silver screen. Ian Palmer has the story. | :21:24. | :21:27.
They watch movies together, have two cats together and they want to | :21:27. | :21:30.
spend the rest of their lives together. But how do you propose | :21:30. | :21:39.
marriage? For Richard Smith, it In a world where fires ice and ice | :21:39. | :21:47.
is fire, one man - a renegade, a vigilante, A... Hang on, this is | :21:47. | :21:56.
Are you sitting in the audience? There were 150 people inside the | :21:56. | :22:03.
Oxford cinema. One of them knew her life was about to change forever. | :22:03. | :22:07.
It is amazing, that he put all that effort in. It is clear that he | :22:07. | :22:13.
really wanted it to be special and it's just... Even now when I watch | :22:13. | :22:21.
it, it makes me shed a tear again! Holly, you are amazing. And in a | :22:21. | :22:29.
second I am going to ask you to Wife thought, let's see how I can | :22:29. | :22:34.
build tension and then release it at the end. I didn't want a trailer | :22:34. | :22:40.
that would be, "will you marry me?" I thought, prepare yourself because | :22:40. | :22:45.
I am going to go to the back of the cinema with balloons and a ring and | :22:45. | :22:51.
ask you to marry me in front of 150 strangers. The couple will marry at | :22:51. | :22:54.
the end of the year. Holly has a special Valentine's Day present. If | :22:54. | :23:00.
you still don't want to know, look away now! I have made a video diary | :23:01. | :23:10.
:23:11. | :23:18. | ||
Which can so and 80 every day of the week with a different | :23:18. | :23:21.
instrument. Is this the most romantic man in the South East? | :23:21. | :23:31.
:23:31. | :23:32. | ||
Even if he is, sorry, you can't She is a lucky lady. | :23:32. | :23:36.
And if you want to see the whole of Richard's proposal, you can find it | :23:36. | :23:38.
on our Facebook site - facebook.com/bbcsoutheasttoday. | :23:38. | :23:42.
That led us to wonder just how much romance is in the air on this cold, | :23:42. | :23:46.
damp February day. So we grabbed one of our red sofas and found some | :23:46. | :23:56.
:23:56. | :23:56. | ||
We bumped into each other in town and the first thing he said to me | :23:56. | :24:04.
was "will you marry me"? And I went no! But I think he quite liked it. | :24:04. | :24:10.
It was sweet and quite romantic. To be romantic ever since I met him... | :24:10. | :24:15.
Jim went in and said "I have brought us a drink" and I looked at | :24:15. | :24:20.
it and he had brought a drink with two straws. I said to my mother, "I | :24:20. | :24:26.
can't go out with this man". He has bought one trick with two straws. | :24:26. | :24:32.
And my mother said, "packing up, get someone who can afford to buy | :24:32. | :24:39.
you two!". Good value, I was only saving money. He was the romantic | :24:39. | :24:46.
one. We did not have any money so it was a register office job. We | :24:46. | :24:50.
got married at the registry office. And had a little reception in our | :24:50. | :25:00.
:25:00. | :25:00. | ||
flat. With my mum's fining cooking! -- frightening cooking. Thank you | :25:00. | :25:06.
fall of the sitting on our server. Remembered, Jim, two straws, two | :25:06. | :25:14.
cups. We got a photo from Margate, they got married on Valentine's Day. | :25:14. | :25:18.
31 years ago. My husband gave me red carnations, a crystal vase and | :25:18. | :25:28.
:25:28. | :25:32. | ||
said that today was my Ballantyne. Sarah Ebrey - I gave birth to my | :25:32. | :25:36.
son Owen on Valentine's 2006, the only time my husband ever forgot to | :25:36. | :25:39.
get me a card. Never forgotten, let alone forgiven. We also still | :25:39. | :25:49.
:25:49. | :25:58. | ||
Happy Valentine's Day. It is not It is not as cold as it could have | :25:58. | :26:02.
been. Temperatures were about seven degrees below average last week and | :26:02. | :26:06.
this week we are climbing about two degrees above average so things | :26:06. | :26:09.
will be warmer but not as warm as it was on the warmest ever | :26:09. | :26:17.
Valentine's Day ever, 1998. That was 19.1 Celsius. Not here in the | :26:17. | :26:21.
South East but in the south-west. We will not get quite that warned | :26:21. | :26:26.
this week but at least it is warmer than I thought it might be. Last | :26:26. | :26:29.
week I was concerned that this Arctic port of their we were | :26:29. | :26:34.
getting today... We have got the Arctic direction of air but it | :26:34. | :26:38.
swings up from the warmer Atlantic first and is slowly warmed up so | :26:38. | :26:42.
that by the end of the week we will be up to 11 degrees. Things not as | :26:42. | :26:47.
cold as they could have been. My own looking at frost-free | :26:47. | :26:52.
conditions overnight. With lots of cloud, temperatures should not get | :26:52. | :26:56.
below 60 grew so comfortably frost- free but occasionally the cloud | :26:56. | :26:59.
could squeeze out a bit of drizzle and light rain but most places will | :26:59. | :27:03.
be dry. Not just the cloud keeping the temperature up but also the | :27:03. | :27:09.
wind. Around 50 mph but by the end of the night it will be get up to | :27:09. | :27:14.
around 20 mph -- around 15 mph but by the end. The cloud could be | :27:14. | :27:22.
thick enough to give some spots of rain but perhaps not as much | :27:22. | :27:30. |
