Good evening. The problems resulting from flooding could last for months,

the Environment Agency's warned today. Meanwhile at Lydd in Kent,

lorries sent to pump water `way are now apparently upsetting sole

residents who haven't been flooded. John Young has been investigating.

The water levels have been too high here for months. This is how many

families have been coping. That will be our toilet to use. We have no

other option. Since the Chrhstmas storms things have just got worse. A

new development. In a different part of the village cars were

deliberately parked across this road to prevent the lorries that come to

pump the water away. The police sorted it out but you can hdar why.

The noise. 24 times per day from dawn until midnight might frustrate

the residents who have not been flooded. Back in a flooded property,

allow the air ambulance to reach the 19`year`old pedestrian and take him

to London. The road has now reopened. It's been revealed that a

re`think by Kent County Council on changes to their subsidised bus

service for school children, was influenced by local bus companies.

To save money the council w`nted to limit the amount of journeys 11 to

16`year`olds could take with the freedom pass, which would cost some

parents a lot more and lead to 000 signing online petitions. KCC came

up with a new proposal this week, students could now have unlhmited

travel until 7pm on weekdays, but the cost of the pass would double to

?200. We have had the bus companies come to the table and hammer out a

scheme which does not protect their position, they will lose revenue,

but it will provide a better deal for the public. I still get the same

level of savings but there hs no U`turn. In the weekend's football

action not for the first tile in recent weeks Crawley Town's game was

they have been lately but not a dry night by any stretch the

warning in place from midnight tomorrow night until midnight on

Wednesday will be largely dry with just a few showers around dtring the

day and another yellow warnhng in place from three o'clock Wednesday

until midday Thursday. We h`ve some more heavy rain and we will see

windy weather coming up as well Although they will be some glimpses
