The RMT union has been staging a 24 hour strike on Southern services.

It's the 31st strike day since last April.

RMT talks with Southern broke down earlier this

week while Aslef members rejected their latest proposed deal.

This strike comes on the weekend of one of Brighton's biggest events -

The weekend of the Brighton Marathon is one of the busiest

in the calendar, with thousands descending on the city.

But it coincides with another day of industrial action on rail unions.

Southern told us they have run 90% of a normal Saturday timetable.

Talks between the rail unions and Southern are set to continue.

An 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of drink

driving following a crash that left a woman with a serious head injury.

Emergency services were called to Orchard Street in Rainham

at around 2.30am this morning after a black Renault Clio

collided with a parked car and ended up on its roof.

Three fire engines attended the scene.

Firefighters freed a female passenger from the car.

Three teenagers have been charged following a series of assaults

Charges included stealing vehicles, possessing cannabis

An 18-year-old and a 19-year-old have been remanded in custody.

Brighton and Hove Albion leapt to the top of the Championship table

last night, beating Queens Park Rangers.

It was the Albion's third win in less than week

Brighton planted two balls in the Rangers net before half-time,

The offside trap catching Glenn Murray then Tomer Hemed.

It took an hour for the Albion to crack Rangers' defence, picking

Brushing past Alex Smithies to give Brighton the lead.

Until last night, left back Sebastien Pocognoli hadn't scored

Just watch how he doubled Albion's advantage over QPR.

Matt Smith's header in the 73rd minute for QPR made it a tense

finish by the Albion, but it was their first win

In League One Charlton beat Southend 2-1 at The Valley.

Gillingham drew 1-1 at home with Millwall.

And in League Two, Crawley Town wnet down 2-1 at home to Plymouth.
