Good evening. Welcome to South Today. A slightly weaker than usual | :00:08. | :00:18.
:00:18. | :00:25. | ||
edition. -- later than usual. The headlines: Can the us trying to say | :00:25. | :00:30.
that children's harp unit have made their case. That was beyond our | :00:30. | :00:35.
wildest dreams. We have always wanted that. And heading home. | :00:35. | :00:41.
Athletes from around the world head home, after the curtain comes down | :00:41. | :00:51.
:00:51. | :00:56. | ||
on the Highland Games. -- island games. A "deliberate attack" on | :00:56. | :00:58.
underground cables in a village between Southampton and Salisbury | :00:58. | :01:01.
has knocked out thousands of phone lines and around 2,000 broadband | :01:02. | :01:07.
BT says people living across a wide area have been affected including | :01:07. | :01:09.
Salisbury, Andover, Romsey, Winchester and Poole. Some could be | :01:10. | :01:13.
without a normal service all weekend. Let's cross live now to | :01:13. | :01:16.
our reporter Sarah Farmer. She's at the site where cables were cut. And | :01:16. | :01:22.
Sarah, this has had a far-reaching effect. It has indeed, yes. I can't | :01:23. | :01:26.
tell you exactly where we are because British Telecom say that | :01:26. | :01:31.
there is a concern there could be repeat attacks. But I can tell you | :01:32. | :01:38.
that at around 1:30am today, five fibre-optic cables were Cup, won | :01:38. | :01:43.
copper cable was damaged and that has knocked out telephone and | :01:43. | :01:46.
broadband services for so many people. Workmen have been trying to | :01:46. | :01:54.
fix the problem and will be a enter the early hours of tomorrow morning. | :01:54. | :01:59.
But they have got a long pass - each of the individual Cable's has | :01:59. | :02:04.
a 48 fibres which have to be delicately at past. And then there | :02:04. | :02:10.
is 3,000 metres of cables which need to be replaced. While | :02:10. | :02:15.
everything is being done to get the problem fixed, there is disruption | :02:15. | :02:21.
which is causing frustration. morning when I tried to log onto | :02:21. | :02:24.
the Internet I received a message from British Telecom that that was | :02:24. | :02:29.
not working, that my home up was not connected to broadband, and | :02:29. | :02:35.
when I called British Telecom there was a statement that I could expect | :02:35. | :02:40.
disruption for 15 hours, because of an event locally. Many of the | :02:40. | :02:46.
customers have in fact been businesses. Langford Post Office | :02:46. | :02:51.
has been without internet all day. It has caused them problems giving | :02:51. | :02:55.
out pensions and car tax and all sorts of other issues. The | :02:55. | :02:58.
postmaster said that as well as having an impact on the community | :02:58. | :03:04.
it is affecting businesses. Sadly, we have had to turn a lot of | :03:04. | :03:09.
customers a way, through not been able to access the internet. That | :03:09. | :03:16.
is now the main hub of Post Office business. We do car packs, cash | :03:16. | :03:26.
withdrawals and deposits, postage - - car tax. My husband works from | :03:26. | :03:31.
home. We have the business website and business telephone. We have not | :03:31. | :03:36.
been able to access the website all day. People : the business number | :03:37. | :03:46.
and getting an unobtainable tone. - - people calling. British Telecom | :03:46. | :03:50.
hope to have things back up and running some more. They acknowledge | :03:50. | :03:55.
that this is a huge problem and have set up that task force to look | :03:55. | :03:59.
at times like this, visiting crime scenes, liaising with the police | :03:59. | :04:04.
and visiting scrap-metal yards as well. In the last year, more than | :04:04. | :04:09.
400 people have been arrested for stealing from the network. We are | :04:09. | :04:14.
being asked to be vigilant. If you see anyone suspiciously removing | :04:14. | :04:18.
cable cabinets or manhole covers, you are being asked to report them | :04:18. | :04:22.
so that we can prevent or discourage things like this from | :04:22. | :04:32.
happening in the future. The crew of the Portsmouth based warship HMS | :04:32. | :04:42.
:04:42. | :04:42. | ||
St Albans has saved 14 men off the coast of Oman. Falmouth Coastguard | :04:42. | :04:49.
picked up distress signals. HMS St Albans gave medical assistance to | :04:49. | :04:54.
three remembers suffering from severe seasickness, and then they | :04:54. | :04:59.
are latter-day crew to safety. A review of that JLS concert on the | :04:59. | :05:02.
edge of Winchester has concluded that bad planning was to blame for | :05:02. | :05:06.
the problems which surrounded it. People arriving over a short period | :05:06. | :05:11.
of time all combine to create the long traffic jams. Under its Mr | :05:11. | :05:14.
concert altogether. In future specialist advisers used by | :05:14. | :05:19.
Glastonbury and Reading festivals will be hired to help avoid a | :05:19. | :05:27.
repeat of the fiasco. A "monumental failure". That's the damning | :05:27. | :05:30.
verdict on a government project to set up centralised fire control | :05:30. | :05:32.
centres to cover Dorset, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Sussex, | :05:32. | :05:36.
Surrey and the Isle of Wight. The centres were built but never opened. | :05:36. | :05:39.
The project was later scrapped, wasting nearly 500 million of | :05:39. | :05:42.
public money. Steve Humphrey has been looking at the detail of | :05:42. | :05:45.
today's report by the National Audit Office. Steve, this report | :05:45. | :05:55.
:05:55. | :05:56. | ||
doesn't pull any punches. No, just look at the headline on the report. | :05:56. | :05:59.
They've called it "The Failure of the FireControl project". It was a | :05:59. | :06:02.
project, started under the Labour Government in 2004. The big idea | :06:02. | :06:05.
was to reduce the number of fire control rooms across the country | :06:06. | :06:11.
from 46 to just nine. Quite quickly, the new buildings went up - and | :06:11. | :06:15.
this was the one for the whole of the South East, built in Fareham. | :06:15. | :06:19.
It has never been used - but it costs the government 121,000 a | :06:19. | :06:29.
:06:29. | :06:30. | ||
month in rent. Originally the nationwide project was supposed to | :06:30. | :06:34.
cost 120 million. But by the time the project was scrapped last year, | :06:34. | :06:39.
it had wasted 469 million. The Fire Brigades Union was highly | :06:39. | :06:47.
critical of the project from the start. This then the case | :06:47. | :06:53.
everything we said from the start of the project. -- it vindicates. | :06:53. | :06:58.
It has wasted almost 500 million for us to be proved right. If we | :06:58. | :07:06.
had been listened to in the first place, we would not be on now. | :07:06. | :07:10.
what about political reaction? the Tories are happy to say this | :07:10. | :07:13.
was a Labour mess. Fareham's Conservative MP Mark Hoban said | :07:13. | :07:16.
they'd ploughed ahead despite widespread opposition - and wasted | :07:16. | :07:18.
money rather than admit they were wrong. The Southampton Itchen MP | :07:18. | :07:20.
John Denham inherited responsibility for the troubled | :07:20. | :07:23.
project when he became Secretary of State for Communities and Local | :07:23. | :07:33.
Government in 2009. It was very serious. As the report says, that | :07:33. | :07:38.
is when we began to get a grip of it, but the leadership was poor, | :07:38. | :07:41.
contractors were known to be feeling and nothing was done about | :07:41. | :07:46.
them. The fire officers were not United in their support for the | :07:46. | :07:50.
project, and we had buildings to put the system into when the system | :07:50. | :07:59.
showed no sign of working. government cancelled this project - | :07:59. | :08:05.
so what happens next? Hampshire's fire chief says lessons have been | :08:05. | :08:08.
learnt - he says fire services are already looking at greater co- | :08:08. | :08:11.
operation - at a local level. will be walking with close | :08:11. | :08:13.
neighbours in Dorset, Wiltshire, and Devon and Somerset to | :08:13. | :08:16.
collaborate so that we get good economies of scale and a quality | :08:16. | :08:21.
system that works for all of us. What happens to these unused | :08:21. | :08:27.
buildings? They are like elephants and the Government would love to | :08:27. | :08:36.
find a use for them as quickly as possible -- white elephants. | :08:36. | :08:40.
Today's report comes on the same day that the Fire Service in West | :08:40. | :08:43.
Sussex held meetings with its staff - on a possible merger with East | :08:43. | :08:47.
Sussex - in an attempt to save millions of pounds. Earlier this | :08:47. | :08:50.
year West Sussex cut frontline services and closed three stations | :08:50. | :08:53.
in Keena, Bosom and Findon. But the Fire Service insist that no | :08:53. | :08:56.
stations would close under this new merger. Plans will go to public | :08:56. | :09:00.
consultation in two weeks and if agreed will be put into action in | :09:00. | :09:02.
2013. There are other options of closer collaborative working. These | :09:02. | :09:05.
do not appear to deliver the same level of savings that we would get | :09:05. | :09:08.
out of a full merger. And it is not just about money. The chief fire | :09:08. | :09:11.
officers of both East and West Sussex are enthusiastic about this, | :09:11. | :09:15.
because they feel it will give them better operational capability and | :09:15. | :09:23.
resilience. A man's been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent | :09:23. | :09:26.
to endanger life, following a pub fire in Lymington earlier today. | :09:26. | :09:30.
Five people were treated for smoke inhalation after the fire at the | :09:30. | :09:33.
Toll House pub on Southampton Road in the early hours. Extensive | :09:33. | :09:36.
damage was caused to the building. Around 1,000 jobs will come to | :09:36. | :09:39.
Reading if plans for a huge supermarket distribution centre are | :09:39. | :09:41.
approved. Tesco is submitting a formal planning application to | :09:41. | :09:45.
build on the former Courage Brewery site near junction 11 of the M4. | :09:45. | :09:49.
They've wanted a big new depot in the south for some time - but the | :09:49. | :09:52.
plans haven't always been welcomed. David Allard reports. In its heyday, | :09:52. | :09:56.
900 people worked at this brewery. Back then, Reading was famous for | :09:56. | :10:00.
the 3 Bs - biscuits, bulbs and beer. But last year the brewery moved out. | :10:00. | :10:03.
Now this 75-acre site close to the M4 has been almost totally | :10:03. | :10:09.
demolished. Enter Tesco. They want to build a big distribution depot | :10:09. | :10:13.
here to serve the whole of the south east. It would replace the | :10:13. | :10:16.
existing one at Weybridge in Surrey and, Tesco say, bring 1,000 jobs to | :10:16. | :10:24.
Reading. Today they started the public consultation. I have been | :10:24. | :10:29.
out of work since last April when the brewery closed, production wise. | :10:29. | :10:35.
So why am very excited about it. will be a good use of the on-site. | :10:35. | :10:39.
The council will look to see how many traffic issues aren't all than | :10:39. | :10:44.
what the impact is on local roads, but in principle I am delighted. | :10:44. | :10:48.
It's not the first time Tesco has tried to build a huge depot in our | :10:48. | :10:51.
region. Remember the Pyestock megashed, planned for this former | :10:51. | :10:54.
military site near Farnborough? Or the battle of Andover airfield? | :10:54. | :10:56.
Both plans met fierce local opposition. Tesco pulled out of | :10:56. | :10:59.
Andover when the local council laid down strict limits on lorry | :10:59. | :11:03.
movements. But now, three years on Andover has its big shed - though | :11:03. | :11:06.
not quite so mega. It's a distribution depot for the Co-op, | :11:06. | :11:10.
and it's due to open very soon. The Co-op's also had to fund | :11:10. | :11:13.
improvements to the A303 junction here, and it's brought hundreds of | :11:13. | :11:16.
jobs. Back in Reading, Tesco is on a charm offensive. It's inviting | :11:16. | :11:19.
people to apply for jobs even though it's not got planning | :11:19. | :11:23.
permission yet. If we are here in Reading and talking to people and | :11:23. | :11:27.
they are carrying out a public consultation then why not give them | :11:27. | :11:32.
the opportunity to talk to us about jobs? It is critical that we get | :11:32. | :11:40.
all people for local jobs. -- local people for local jobs. Tesco will | :11:40. | :11:44.
submit plans later this month. It wants the depot open by Christmas | :11:44. | :11:54.
:11:54. | :11:54. | ||
next year. It's been a hard fought battle over the last four months - | :11:54. | :11:57.
and now they must wait for the decision. The consultation over the | :11:57. | :12:00.
future of Southampton General Hospital's child heart surgery unit | :12:00. | :12:02.
ended today. Our health correspondent David Fenton is here | :12:02. | :12:05.
now, David. Southampton's heart unit could close because of an NHS | :12:05. | :12:08.
plan to change the way heart surgery works. Managers want to | :12:08. | :12:12.
scrap some units, and concentrate on specialist centres. No-one | :12:12. | :12:16.
expected Southampton to be at risk, but earlier this year, the heart | :12:16. | :12:19.
unit learned it was included in only one of four options - and | :12:19. | :12:22.
despite being rated second best in the country for its operations, | :12:22. | :12:25.
faced a real threat of closure. Very quickly, a vigorous campaign | :12:25. | :12:29.
to save it got under way, led by parents of children who'd been | :12:29. | :12:39.
treated there. In March, little Aaron Prior confronted the Health | :12:39. | :12:42.
Secretary, asking him why he was closing the best, not the worst. | :12:42. | :12:46.
And in May, hundreds of parents and children - many whose lives have | :12:46. | :12:49.
been saved by the Southampton unit - held a rally outside the city's | :12:49. | :12:52.
Guildhall. The campaign culminated last week with these box loads of | :12:53. | :12:55.
petitions - 250,000 signatures - being presented to 10 Downing | :12:55. | :13:05.
:13:05. | :13:06. | ||
Street. But even after all that, campaigners are still worried. | :13:06. | :13:13.
Banyard was born with half a heart. Two hospitals said she probably | :13:13. | :13:17.
wouldn't survive. So her parents brought her to Southampton, for an | :13:17. | :13:20.
operation that had never been done before. Knowing that her condition | :13:20. | :13:25.
was like limiting, we thought we would bring her here. You would do | :13:25. | :13:28.
anything for your children. Three surgeons spent eight hours | :13:28. | :13:32.
operating - but Cora recovered, and is doing now things she could never | :13:32. | :13:42.
:13:42. | :13:49. | ||
do before. At school I do PE. I do tuck jumps on a trampoline. Cora's | :13:49. | :13:52.
one of 330 children treated here every year - but the national | :13:52. | :13:55.
review wants bigger centres, doing more operations, and Southampton | :13:55. | :13:58.
may have to close. That prompted a huge campaign. In May hundreds | :13:58. | :14:04.
turned out at this public meeting. We are here to support the heart | :14:04. | :14:09.
unit. It has done amazing things for us, it has given us our son. | :14:09. | :14:18.
is very personal. I get emotional thinking about it. And staff here - | :14:18. | :14:21.
surgeons, nurses, cardiologists - have also been working hard, behind | :14:21. | :14:24.
the scenes, to keep the unit open. For the last few months, and number | :14:24. | :14:28.
of the staff have spent at one- third of their working time doing | :14:28. | :14:32.
work based on trying to make the case for why Southampton should | :14:32. | :14:37.
continue to be a centre. they'll have to wait to see if that | :14:37. | :14:41.
effort is rewarded - a decision is expected in the autumn. No-one | :14:41. | :14:44.
doubts that Southampton is a very good unit. What we have been | :14:44. | :14:49.
looking at is the patient lows and the travel times to the unit, and | :14:49. | :14:53.
where patients are prepared to travel from, so that's it underpin | :14:53. | :14:57.
can get to what we feel is the minimum number of operations for | :14:57. | :15:02.
this unit. This has been a nervous time for staff and patients - but | :15:02. | :15:06.
the work goes on, and all they can do now is wait, and hope for the | :15:06. | :15:16.
:15:16. | :15:21. | ||
best. Thank you for watching South Today. Still to come in this | :15:21. | :15:25.

communities. Those that see it first hand know it's anything but. | :16:51. | :16:55.
MUSIC: Beautiful Day, U2. 25 islands from around the world come | :16:55. | :16:59.
together for a week of competition across 14 sports. For some that are | :16:59. | :17:02.
more isolated, it's a rare chance to take part in international | :17:02. | :17:05.
competition. The 43-strong team from the Falklands travelled the | :17:05. | :17:07.

the TV. You cannot even go to watch a good rugby match or football game, | :17:34. | :17:39.
so to come and be a part of it is fantastic. The Island Games is | :17:39. | :17:44.
seriously addictive. Once you've experienced it, you just want more. | :17:44. | :17:50.

formal offer for their teenage star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. That's | :18:20. | :18:23.
according to manager Nigel Adkins. Chamberlain is one of the best | :18:23. | :18:26.
young prospects in English football. Arsenal are keen to sign the player. | :18:26. | :18:29.
But Adkins was insistent this morning, that the player is staying | :18:29. | :18:33.
put for now. All we can say is that there has no been passed - there | :18:33. | :18:35.
has not been any bid put on the table. There is newspaper | :18:35. | :18:39.
speculation about Arsenal. But we are not trying to sell Alex. We had | :18:39. | :18:44.
the same scenario in January. He had a good first season positive | :18:44. | :18:54.
:18:54. | :18:57. | ||
happen. -- good first season for Southampton. I tweeted all the | :18:57. | :19:00.
latest Southampton news today as it was breaking, including news of | :19:00. | :19:03.
Rickie Lambert's new three year contract, and Saints having a bid | :19:03. | :19:06.
accepted for Chelsea's Jack Cork. There's also lots more from Nigel | :19:06. | :19:09.
Adkin's interview online at the BBC website. Brighton and Hove Albion | :19:09. | :19:13.
have signed Dutch striker Roland Bergkamp. He's agreed a two year | :19:13. | :19:16.
deal and comes from top flight club Excelsior. The move is subject to | :19:16. | :19:19.
international clearance. And yes, Bergkamp is related to Dennis - | :19:19. | :19:22.
he's his nephew. Let's hope that he scores as many goals for Brechin as | :19:22. | :19:27.
Dennis did for Arsenal down the years. There are two Twenty20 | :19:27. | :19:35.
victories for amateur cricketers. Last night they might beat Kent. | :19:35. | :19:38.
Neil McKenzie top scored for Hampshire with 48 as they made 141 | :19:38. | :19:42.
for 6. Kent were then skittled for just 72, with three wickets for | :19:42. | :19:44.
Dmitri Mascherenas, the most spectacular being the dismissal of | :19:44. | :19:47.
Kent skipper Rob Key - Imran Tahir's catch, he was rather | :19:47. | :19:52.
pleased. Tonight they have beaten Middlesex by seven wickets at | :19:52. | :19:58.
Uxbridge. Meanwhile, on the third day of the county championship | :19:58. | :20:01.
match at Arundel, Sussex closed just 29 runs ahead of Warwickshire | :20:01. | :20:05.
with a day to play. They have five second innings wickets in hand. | :20:05. | :20:09.
Thousands of children across the south were trying to break a world | :20:09. | :20:18.
record today. On playing fields and playgrounds across the country at | :20:18. | :20:21.
precisely the same time, more than 250,000 youngsters danced to the | :20:21. | :20:24.
same tune. It was the last major event for a school sports body | :20:24. | :20:28.
which is being closed this summer. Sean Killick was looking on. They | :20:28. | :20:35.
waved and wiggled, clapped and cheered. At 11:40 precisely, 800 | :20:35. | :20:38.
children from schools across north east Hampshire joined others | :20:38. | :20:40.
nationwide trying to stage the world's largest simultaneous dance. | :20:40. | :20:43.
The event at Farnborough was organised by the local school sport | :20:43. | :20:48.
partnership. The partnerships were set up by the government a decade | :20:48. | :20:51.
ago, but are now being scrapped. Some funding will still be | :20:51. | :20:54.
available to boost sport in schools. But one of those behind the | :20:54. | :20:59.
partnerships believes much vital work will not happen in future. | :20:59. | :21:04.
Professional development for teachers, curriculum Updates, | :21:04. | :21:11.
focused work on attainment and behaviour, so a raft of staff will | :21:11. | :21:21.
:21:21. | :21:22. | ||
be lost. -- of stuff. It was brilliant, it was good fun. They | :21:22. | :21:27.
have picked it up really quickly. The Max seen to be enjoying it when | :21:27. | :21:34.
we got them waving and clapping. -- they seemed to be enjoying it. | :21:34. | :21:36.
Professional development for teachers, curriculum updates, | :21:36. | :21:39.
focussed work to improve attainment and behaviour with children in | :21:39. | :21:43.
schools, so I think a whole raft of stuff will be lost. But the | :21:43. | :21:46.
children here today were simply enjoying the fun of the record | :21:46. | :21:50.
attempt. They'll find out later in the summer if they have managed to | :21:50. | :21:53.
dance their way into the record books. Last night I was at the | :21:53. | :21:55.
Corky, and the Americans won again, 13-eight. Two on top for America. | :21:55. | :22:02.
Alexis is here. You have been about, taking advantage of the Nice | :22:02. | :22:09.
weather at the Hat Fair in Winchester. It is about St Peter as | :22:09. | :22:17.
well as hats. Tony is taking the lead with his cricket hat! -- it is | :22:17. | :22:26.
about street theatre. I did not just go to watch. I have always | :22:26. | :22:32.
wanted to perform. Somehow, just doing the weather is not enough. I | :22:32. | :22:37.
want to be in and band, I cannot sing but I can play an instrument. | :22:37. | :22:45.
OK, it is the drums. Who am I going to play with? With us, the BBC | :22:45. | :22:55.
:22:55. | :23:00. | ||
south where the girls! -- where the girls. -- weather girls. It's | :23:00. | :23:09.
raining men! Then I went around town to see what else was on offer. | :23:09. | :23:13.
I think it is really important to acknowledge that the festival has | :23:13. | :23:21.
been around for seven years. People come year after year to see this. | :23:21. | :23:25.
We tried to honour that tradition. And there is a balance of stuff | :23:25. | :23:30.
that has been here before, some quite a new staff, some quite edgy | :23:30. | :23:36.
stuff, we have shaken up the evenings so people find they are or | :23:36. | :23:45.
a little bit different. Do you have a favourite? My favourite is a | :23:45. | :23:55.
:23:55. | :23:59. | ||
French company called Les Apostrophes. It is Street are, and | :23:59. | :24:06.
done innocently amazing way. We're walking on Sunshine, and broke it | :24:06. | :24:14.
feel good? Sadly, the weather girls will not be plain again this | :24:14. | :24:21.
weekend, because of musical differences. The forecast was | :24:21. | :24:31.
:24:31. | :24:32. | ||
always for pressure rising! thought the other two were mining. | :24:32. | :24:41.
-- miming. The Hat Fair is on all weekend, but if you cannot get to, | :24:41. | :24:48.
here is some other things that an going on. The hit musical, Greece, | :24:48. | :24:58.
:24:58. | :25:01. | ||
has been performed by Christchurch Former Prime Minister Edward | :25:01. | :25:05.
Heath's house is being reopened this weekend. Situated in Cathedral | :25:06. | :25:10.
Close in Salisbury, it contains many historical items from Sir | :25:10. | :25:19.
Edward Heath's Light. This Wednesday -- this Wednesday, top | :25:20. | :25:23.
road cycling racers are coming to Guildford to battle it out on the | :25:23. | :25:31.
High Street. Thursday sees the start of the inaugural job Ali | :25:31. | :25:35.
history society. They will be discussing ancient conflicts and | :25:35. | :25:40.
conflicts of the past 30 years. Speakers include Peter Snow. The | :25:41. | :25:46.
Caversham Festival starts this weekend. 10 days of family-friendly | :25:46. | :25:50.
entertainment at venues around Caversham. Hopefully, you can make | :25:50. | :25:55.
it to some of those events. This weekend is looking good, dry with a | :25:55. | :26:04.
Tonight will be dry with clear spells here and there. Temperatures | :26:04. | :26:10.

London-To 18 Celsius. Mild in towns and cities but chilly out in the | :26:21. | :26:27.
countryside. Some decent sunshine on offer posting tomorrow, but | :26:27. | :26:33.
cloud increasing throughout the afternoon. -- on offer first thing | :26:33. | :26:38.

Tomorrow night, a repeat performance of tonight, skies | :26:42. | :26:49.
cleaning, patchy cloud here and there, with lows in towns and | :26:49. | :26:54.
cities of ten Celsius, could lose out in the countryside. More cloud | :26:54. | :27:01.
arriving during the afternoon on Sunday. Sussex are in Twenty20 | :27:01. | :27:04.
cricket action against Gloucestershire. Temperatures will | :27:04. | :27:11.
be up into the twenties. Monday his eyes well, staying settled. High | :27:11. | :27:17.
pressure, still in charge. We have this rain out in the Atlantic. That | :27:17. | :27:21.
will be heading to us next week. Tuesday starting on a dry, bright | :27:21. | :27:27.
not. The weather front is on its way, on Tuesday night. It will | :27:27. | :27:32.
arrive on Tuesday night into Wednesday. Here is the summary for | :27:32. | :27:36.
the all-important weekend, if you are heading out and about. Not as | :27:36. | :27:42.
warm as last weekend, but pleasant, with warm sunshine. Temperatures, | :27:42. | :27:50.
keeping up by Tuesday, up to 24 Celsius in places. Looking good. | :27:50. | :27:56.
Thank you very much. Looking at the weekend guide, don't forget, there | :27:56. | :28:00.
was the South coast Proms. A musical dull and Portsmouth to | :28:00. | :28:04.
raise money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines charity. This year, | :28:05. | :28:10.
it will spend 5 million selfing service personnel and their | :28:10. | :28:14.
dependence. There are concerts tonight and tomorrow in Portsmouth. | :28:14. | :28:20.
Several thousand people expected to attend this year. I would have | :28:20. | :28:25.
asked you what you were doing four or Friday evening, but we have | :28:25. | :28:30. |
