Hello, I'm Sally Taylor. Welcome to South Today. In tonight's programme: | :00:00. | :00:10.
Tributes to the innocent man who took just one sip from a fizzy drink | :00:11. | :00:19.
laced with fatal amounts of cocaine. He was a wonderful man and would | :00:20. | :00:22.
help you when you needed him. Walking out ` firefighters stage the | :00:23. | :00:25.
first of two strikes over pensions on a busy festive weekend. | :00:26. | :00:30.
A family shop for 40 years faces closure because of the impact of | :00:31. | :00:40.
pedestrianisation outside. I do not know a single person who | :00:41. | :00:43.
does not shop here. We are devastated we will lose it. And the | :00:44. | :00:50.
pressure is on the new Pompey boss looking for a win this weekend. | :00:51. | :00:59.
More details have emerged about the fizzy drink contaminated with | :01:00. | :01:03.
cocaine that killed a man from Gosport. Joromie Lewis worked for an | :01:04. | :01:07.
import company and was helping unload a consignment of drinks from | :01:08. | :01:10.
the Caribbean at a warehouse in Southampton. He took just one sip | :01:11. | :01:16.
from a bottle of Pear`D, immediately became ill and never recovered. He | :01:17. | :01:21.
leaves behind a wife and three`year`old daughter. Joe | :01:22. | :01:27.
Campbell reports. Former Royal Navy sailor Joromie | :01:28. | :01:30.
Lewis was known for his stand against drugs, drink and gambling. | :01:31. | :01:34.
In words of one friend, he was a good guy. He was a regular | :01:35. | :01:39.
worshipper here at this church with his wife and their daughter, who | :01:40. | :01:43.
turned three years old on the very day he died last week. He was | :01:44. | :01:48.
described here is a big man, a bighearted man, who would do | :01:49. | :01:52.
anything to help somebody out. In fact, he was helping out somebody on | :01:53. | :01:57.
the day he died. They had been handling and imported cargo of juice | :01:58. | :02:00.
drink which had been brought in by a third party from the Caribbean. It | :02:01. | :02:05.
was hot and thirsty work and once it had been taken away from the | :02:06. | :02:09.
warehouse where he was employed, he saw a bottle had been left behind. | :02:10. | :02:13.
He took a swig quenches first and moments later, was seriously ill. | :02:14. | :02:19.
The man who baptised him was today making preparations for Joromie | :02:20. | :02:28.
Lewis's funeral. Thursday, about 11 o'clock, I had somebody crying. It | :02:29. | :02:32.
took me a while to figure out it was his wife. She said he was in | :02:33. | :02:36.
Southampton general and on a life`support machine and they were | :02:37. | :02:39.
about to turn it off. My wife and I rushed on down to the hospital. He | :02:40. | :02:46.
was dead by the time we got there. Per day is a popular drink in parts | :02:47. | :02:50.
of the Caribbean. These bottles were on sale there today. The makers | :02:51. | :02:54.
described the shipment that killed Mr Lewis as contraband, saying | :02:55. | :03:00.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed the bottle was camped with `` | :03:01. | :03:03.
tampered with. Ex`pats today told us two kilos of | :03:04. | :03:14.
cocaine could be dissolved in just one litre of water and police say | :03:15. | :03:17.
drink so regularly used by smugglers to hide imported drugs. It has been | :03:18. | :03:24.
used in the past and tragically, it has gone horribly wrong. Mr Lewis | :03:25. | :03:30.
completely innocently has had a drink of this that has fallen out of | :03:31. | :03:37.
a dispatch from his warehouse. Mr Lewis' family are preparing for the | :03:38. | :03:40.
funeral after Christmas so relatives can fly in from overseas for the | :03:41. | :03:53.
service. A man who raped a school girl in Berkshire when she was drunk | :03:54. | :03:57.
has been sentenced to 11 years in prison. The girl had kept quiet | :03:58. | :04:00.
about the attack by 51`year`old Robert Hawkins for over a decade. | :04:01. | :04:03.
She finally found the courage to tell the police he had raped her | :04:04. | :04:07.
when she was a young teenager after serving as a juror herself on a rape | :04:08. | :04:10.
trial. Nikki Mitchell reports. The girl who was raped is now in her | :04:11. | :04:14.
20s, and it was he that Reading Crown Court last year that she was | :04:15. | :04:16.
called for jury service. She was a juror hearing a case of a man | :04:17. | :04:21.
accused of child abuse. Given that she herself had been raped when she | :04:22. | :04:24.
was 13 years old, the trial had a profound effect on her. The day | :04:25. | :04:29.
after it ended, she walked into reading police station to report | :04:30. | :04:32.
that she had also been a rape victim. This is the man | :04:33. | :04:38.
responsible, 51`year`old Robert Hawkins from reading. He waited | :04:39. | :04:42.
until she and her friends were drunk before raping her in the bedroom of | :04:43. | :04:45.
a house he was staying in 12 years ago. She blacked out during the | :04:46. | :04:52.
attack. The charity Rape Crisis believe only one in seven women who | :04:53. | :04:56.
experience sexual violence reported to police. Why is that? If you have | :04:57. | :05:02.
not been believed, Johnston blamed. A fear of the perpetrator. If they | :05:03. | :05:08.
hear stories about low conviction rate is poor treatment by the | :05:09. | :05:11.
courts, that can be even more off`putting. In sentencing Robin `` | :05:12. | :05:16.
Robert Hawkins to 11 years in prison, the judge said the rape had | :05:17. | :05:20.
been a girl's first sexual experience and that afterwards she | :05:21. | :05:25.
went off the rails. Her behaviour change completely, she self harmed, | :05:26. | :05:28.
she had nightmares, she took drugs and got into trouble with social | :05:29. | :05:33.
services. The judge told Hawkins, that is the effect you're selfish | :05:34. | :05:39.
act had on her. The court held Hawkins has been convicted of | :05:40. | :05:42.
numerous crimes and this is the second time he has been jailed for | :05:43. | :05:44.
rape. Firefighters across the South have | :05:45. | :05:47.
just walked out this evening on another strike. It is part of | :05:48. | :05:52.
ongoing industrial action over pensions. Fire and Rescue Services | :05:53. | :05:55.
are asking the public to take extra care on what is usually the busiest | :05:56. | :06:02.
weekend for Christmas parties. Those who are still working this evening | :06:03. | :06:07.
to provide cover have asked the public to call only if it is a real | :06:08. | :06:12.
emergency. We will have 50% of resources as we normally do. But you | :06:13. | :06:18.
dial 999, it may be slower than normal. We will be doing our best to | :06:19. | :06:24.
get as quickly as possible. Colin Daulby if you need us. `` collars | :06:25. | :06:29.
only if you need us. Laura Trant is live for us this | :06:30. | :06:32.
evening in Salisbury. Here in Salisbury, along with fire | :06:33. | :06:35.
stations across the country, firefighters walked out and went on | :06:36. | :06:39.
strike at six o'clock in an ongoing dispute over pensions. There have | :06:40. | :06:46.
been four strikes since September. This, the fifth strike and the sixth | :06:47. | :06:49.
tomorrow, will last for four hours from six till 10pm. It's over | :06:50. | :06:54.
Government plans to raise firefighters' retirement age from 55 | :06:55. | :06:57.
to 60 and to increase their individual pension contributions. | :06:58. | :07:04.
The FBU says it would mean if firefighters between the ages of | :07:05. | :07:07.
55`60 fail fitness tests and get the sack, then they would lose out on | :07:08. | :07:14.
pensions. But the Government says the offer is fair and one of the | :07:15. | :07:20.
most generous in the public sector. But in light of plans for MPs' pay | :07:21. | :07:24.
going up by 11%, anger at the Government's intentions for | :07:25. | :07:28.
firefighters has intensified. We asked you to contact us on our | :07:29. | :07:35.
Facebook page and share your views. We were inundated with your | :07:36. | :07:38.
comments. Here are just a fear of them. `` just a couple. | :07:39. | :08:07.
As we heard earlier, the Fire Service are warning members of the | :08:08. | :08:12.
public to take extra care when the strike is taking place. Things like | :08:13. | :08:17.
candles and festive lighting at this time of year are particularly | :08:18. | :08:19.
dangerous, and they are asking people to be extra vigilant. The | :08:20. | :08:29.
leader of West Sussex County Council claims there are no bombshells in | :08:30. | :08:33.
plans to cut ?60 million from the council's budget over the next two | :08:34. | :08:35.
years. Proposals discussed today include cuts to adult social care | :08:36. | :08:38.
and children's services. But an extra ?30 million will be spent on | :08:39. | :08:42.
resurfacing unclassified roads. West Sussex also hopes to freeze its | :08:43. | :08:45.
council tax for a fourth year running. | :08:46. | :08:54.
We will always look to see that it will not affect people. That is the | :08:55. | :08:58.
first priority. A lot of it is looking at how we do things and | :08:59. | :09:01.
where we commission services and the way we do it. That will mean that | :09:02. | :09:04.
perhaps we'll be doing it a bit cheaper, but the end result is just | :09:05. | :09:15.
the same. Two air Ambulance Services in the South remain temporarily | :09:16. | :09:19.
grounded today, after a fault was found in a similar aircraft. The | :09:20. | :09:22.
Thames Valley, and the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulances all operate | :09:23. | :09:25.
the same type of helicopter as the one that crashed on a pub in | :09:26. | :09:29.
Glasgow. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been cleared | :09:30. | :09:31.
to fly again following safety checks. | :09:32. | :09:38.
Stay with us, because we will have the sport, not. We will be looking | :09:39. | :09:43.
at three of the contenders hoping to be Sports Personality of the Year. | :09:44. | :09:48.
That is happening on Sunday. They will be finding out whether Pompey | :09:49. | :09:52.
can actually get a win with the new manager. As was that, we will have | :09:53. | :09:59.
the weather. Our reporter is inherently because an Advent | :10:00. | :10:03.
calendar opens with a difference. Christmas spirit and community | :10:04. | :10:05.
spirit go hand`in`hand here in Henley as they bring the traditional | :10:06. | :10:07.
Advent calendar to life. A Hampshire MP is warning people | :10:08. | :10:28.
there's no need to pay companies to renew your driving licence and if | :10:29. | :10:31.
you're over 70, renewing costs nothing. Freda Kerslake, who lives | :10:32. | :10:34.
in Horndean, unknowingly paid a company called drivinglicenceuk.com | :10:35. | :10:36.
?80. They've now agreed to refund her money. Ena Miller has been to | :10:37. | :10:40.
meet her. I only use the car, really, to | :10:41. | :10:44.
travel locally or to go to the shops. I find it so difficult | :10:45. | :10:51.
walking now but I do need it. When this woman made a mistake renewing | :10:52. | :10:54.
her driving licence, she literally paid for that. When I said to a | :10:55. | :10:59.
friend, I have applied for my driving licence over the phone, so | :11:00. | :11:02.
that is out of the way and it cost ?80, she said, it shouldn't cost | :11:03. | :11:07.
that. You are over 70. Well, I needed to, so... `` and 82 years | :11:08. | :11:17.
old. At Ascot to be refunded. `` I asked for it to be refund. She | :11:18. | :11:21.
unwittingly it is perfectly legal and they make | :11:22. | :11:35.
terms clear. I suspect you're looking for people in a hurry. But | :11:36. | :11:39.
how easy is it to make the the Office of Fair Trading | :11:40. | :12:00.
investigations say it is happening all the time. There is a fine line | :12:01. | :12:06.
between whether they are legal or not. They use quite a bit of small | :12:07. | :12:12.
print. Is it difficult for you to solve this? It is. If you stop this, | :12:13. | :12:20.
another will pop up. The company refused to comment but has now given | :12:21. | :12:25.
Frida Ely fun. `` a refund. It is the sort of store that could | :12:26. | :12:29.
be really useful over this festive period. Akram's in Portsmouth stocks | :12:30. | :12:32.
every type of Asian spice, along with Chinese, Thai and West Indian | :12:33. | :12:35.
delicacies. But it is threatened with closure, after the road that | :12:36. | :12:38.
it's on was pedestrianised and takings dropped by half. Now a | :12:39. | :12:42.
campaign is underway to save it, as Peter Henley reports. | :12:43. | :12:48.
Whether it is animal, vegetable or mineral salts, Akron has every | :12:49. | :12:53.
variety from every corner of the globe. It is an institution at the | :12:54. | :13:00.
heart of Southsea for 40 years. But after parking spaces were removed | :13:01. | :13:05.
outside, taking supplemented. We're behind wages and with your trusty | :13:06. | :13:11.
Bill, paying rates. If it carries on, I do not know what will happen. | :13:12. | :13:16.
Portsmouth City Council see the half a million Pendse are spent on | :13:17. | :13:19.
pedestrianisation is well spent, because they are trying to create a | :13:20. | :13:25.
cafe culture in Southsea. Some say the pedestrianisation is a step in | :13:26. | :13:27.
the right direction. I find it easier. I would not mind if it was | :13:28. | :13:32.
just pavements, but it is nice knowing this is a wider area. But | :13:33. | :13:41.
deliveries are real problems. Goods have to be taken to the shops on | :13:42. | :13:44.
foot. The signs are not clear. Motorists are regularly confused. I | :13:45. | :13:53.
can see 30 miles an up the... And abroad are still a route. This needs | :13:54. | :14:00.
to be for traffic and businesses. At night, it is a place of anti`social | :14:01. | :14:03.
behaviour with a lot of drinking. That is not acceptable. It is | :14:04. | :14:08.
residential as well. I do not know the single person who does not, | :14:09. | :14:12.
choppy. We are devastated that we could lose it. `` does not, choppy. | :14:13. | :14:18.
Three generations of this family have worked here. This man could be | :14:19. | :14:23.
the last of his generation to work here. | :14:24. | :14:26.
How about running up and down the highest mountain in the world? The | :14:27. | :14:30.
Everest Marathon is known as one of the hardest marathons. Snow, ice, | :14:31. | :14:37.
rough tracks and a lack of oxygen. The man they call Running Rob, who | :14:38. | :14:40.
lives in Farheam, came into the studio to tell me how he coped with | :14:41. | :14:44.
all the challenges a mountain can throw at you. | :14:45. | :14:51.
It starts at the place that is about 16,000 feet. It runs down | :14:52. | :14:57.
effectively, you know those climbs in at the size of Ben Nevis, to 3400 | :14:58. | :15:02.
metres. So you're permanently going up? Deal mac go down gradually, | :15:03. | :15:07.
about two and a bit thousand metres. 16,000 feet. Someone told me | :15:08. | :15:15.
you may get 50% of the oxygen you would get like we are here. That has | :15:16. | :15:19.
a huge impact, doesn't it? Deal mac it does. `` it does. When I first | :15:20. | :15:28.
went to that distance, it took me 20 minutes. When I got the start line, | :15:29. | :15:35.
it was better. You do a lot of endurance running. How does this | :15:36. | :15:41.
compare? It was very tough. I learnt a lot about myself. I was quite ill | :15:42. | :15:45.
before I started the race and when I got to the halfway point and | :15:46. | :15:50.
realised I had nothing left and still had another half marathon to | :15:51. | :15:53.
run, I found it incredibly tough. Why did you do it? About three years | :15:54. | :16:00.
ago, my father died of cancer. When he was struggling for breath, I | :16:01. | :16:03.
decided that every time I got stuck for breath, I would raise money for | :16:04. | :16:07.
charity. The cause of that, I did the marathon two years ago and this | :16:08. | :16:12.
this year. And how did it compare to the last one? It was very different. | :16:13. | :16:22.
It is the Sahara Desert. At one point it was 65 degrees when I was | :16:23. | :16:25.
running that. It is a multi stage race. This one is just one single | :16:26. | :16:30.
stage over one single day. Did you ever get scared doing it? Everyone | :16:31. | :16:35.
says when you do a marathon, you reach that wall and you do not know | :16:36. | :16:38.
what you can go forward, beyond that. This is very different. You're | :16:39. | :16:44.
not just reaching a while, you have a 16,000 feet altitude and the rest | :16:45. | :16:47.
of it. Did you become worried about your health and condition? Yeah, | :16:48. | :16:53.
seven. I was struggling after seven miles. There was many doctors on the | :16:54. | :16:58.
route, running along. A doctor was following me. I was quite worried | :16:59. | :17:04.
because every time I hit an inkling, my body was filling up with lactic | :17:05. | :17:09.
acid and were struggling. What sort of person are you that you won't to | :17:10. | :17:15.
keep doing these? There are lots of things my friends and family would | :17:16. | :17:20.
say. Perhaps not repeatable! And someone who will not give up. In a | :17:21. | :17:26.
way, I proved that by doing this race, because I really thought I had | :17:27. | :17:31.
it partway through. I think generally, it is the tenacity to | :17:32. | :17:33.
keep going and raise as much money as you can for charity. And your | :17:34. | :17:39.
last race is going to be where? The Arctic Circle. You are bonkers, Aja? | :17:40. | :17:53.
Probably, yes X, `` yes! He is a wonderful man raising a | :17:54. | :17:57.
massive amount of money for different charities depending on the | :17:58. | :18:00.
endurance marathon he does. We wish them well, particularly in the | :18:01. | :18:05.
Arctic. Time for the sport now. Shall we talk Sports Personality of | :18:06. | :18:10.
the Year? We have done so well. Sunday night, everyone will be | :18:11. | :18:14.
tuning in. Sunday night sees one of the big | :18:15. | :18:17.
nights in the sporting calendar, the choice of the BBC Sports Personality | :18:18. | :18:21.
of the Year. Now the award is celebrating its 60th anniversary | :18:22. | :18:25.
this year, so it's a big one. And of the ten sporting heroes in | :18:26. | :18:28.
contention for the title of 2013, no less than three are from the South. | :18:29. | :18:34.
Bob Everett reports. Without the presence of a certain | :18:35. | :18:38.
Andy Murray, Tony McCoy may well have been the case' favourite. He | :18:39. | :18:46.
has broken most of the bones in his body at least once, in jewels all | :18:47. | :18:49.
the usual deprivations in force by the need to keep his weight down, | :18:50. | :18:53.
get his bravery and skill as brought him an unsurpassed 4000 national | :18:54. | :19:00.
winners. In a year of firsts, don't discount Justin Rose. His first | :19:01. | :19:05.
major win in the US Open back in August was the first English win in | :19:06. | :19:11.
the tournament 443 years, a just reward for the work he and his | :19:12. | :19:15.
family had put in since he was teenage schoolboy in Hampshire. Sir | :19:16. | :19:21.
Ben Ainslie must have a chance as well. He inspired team America to | :19:22. | :19:25.
come back from the brink of defeat and win the America's Cup and has | :19:26. | :19:29.
carved out a unique place for himself in yachting history. It is | :19:30. | :19:33.
not the first time he has been nominated. Could this be his year? | :19:34. | :19:39.
And while we're at it, let's not forget this man, his tireless work | :19:40. | :19:44.
and grass`roots cricket won him BBC South's unsung hero award. Can he | :19:45. | :19:53.
pick national award? Let's hope so. We have had the few winners of the | :19:54. | :19:56.
unsung hero award. The weekend's Premier League | :19:57. | :19:58.
football programme sees eighth`placed Southampton visit | :19:59. | :20:00.
Newcastle, who are immediately above them in the table. Saints have | :20:01. | :20:04.
stuttered of late ` last week's draw with Manchester City ended a run of | :20:05. | :20:07.
three straight defeats, and they still have a few injury worries for | :20:08. | :20:11.
the trip to St James' Park, where one of their former managers awaits | :20:12. | :20:18.
them. And certainly looking forward to | :20:19. | :20:22.
seeing some of my old players thou done brilliantly. They were all | :20:23. | :20:29.
there in the first division with me. That site, and look forward to | :20:30. | :20:33.
seeing. It is a game I really want to win. | :20:34. | :20:36.
It's an important weekend for the new Portsmouth manager Richie | :20:37. | :20:40.
Barker. He's got the unenviable job of stopping the rot at Pompey, who | :20:41. | :20:43.
have lost their last seven games in a row. So the pressure is already on | :20:44. | :20:47.
for the former Crawley boss. James Ingham reports. | :20:48. | :20:50.
It is just four days since Richie Barker's arrival at Fratton Park. To | :20:51. | :20:54.
say he has had to do to the ground running is an understatement. | :20:55. | :20:57.
Imposing his philosophy on the players has had to happen fast to | :20:58. | :21:01.
take the club out of freefall. So far, so good it seems on that score. | :21:02. | :21:08.
The most important thing is we win and lose together as a teen. We set | :21:09. | :21:18.
yourself goals. We need confidence back into them. We need to get them | :21:19. | :21:24.
playing with no fear. Obviously, that can be helped with the fans | :21:25. | :21:28.
coming and coming up in the numbers and really getting behind us. It all | :21:29. | :21:35.
sounds good, but Pompey fans will be hoping the on pitch action against | :21:36. | :21:37.
Newport matches the pre`match rhetoric. | :21:38. | :21:45.
Coverage of those games and all the rest of the weekend's matches on | :21:46. | :21:48.
your local radio station. We will have the results tomorrow as well. | :21:49. | :21:54.
Less than two weeks until Christmas, hope you're ready. Towns and cities | :21:55. | :21:59.
across the South are celebrating in many different ways. German markets, | :22:00. | :22:05.
light displays and in Henley there's a living Advent calendar around the | :22:06. | :22:08.
town. Sarah Farmer is there to find out what the 13th day of Christmas | :22:09. | :22:11.
is like. Having opened the window and is it | :22:12. | :22:15.
chocolate? `` have the opened the window. Now, but there are mince | :22:16. | :22:22.
pies inside. There was huge anticipation as window number 13 was | :22:23. | :22:27.
opened today. Every day here in Henley, people are going to | :22:28. | :22:30.
different areas in the town to open a and all sorts of different treats | :22:31. | :22:34.
hide behind them. Santa has been rescued at the fire station here, | :22:35. | :22:37.
the heavily choral society have performed at the Museum. Today, this | :22:38. | :22:44.
was what we do Mac was behind door 13. `` this is what was the fine | :22:45. | :22:48.
door 13. It Has Been Tremendous. The First | :22:49. | :23:41.
Year We Got 40`60 Every Night. This Year, I Don't Think We Have Had | :23:42. | :23:47.
Under 100. . Every year, there is something gorgeous. The first year, | :23:48. | :23:53.
we had Olympic rower 's. This year, everything has been spectacular. And | :23:54. | :23:57.
you have been recognised this week as well? Yes, we found we had one | :23:58. | :24:04.
one of the Prime Minister's Big Society awards. Businesses play a | :24:05. | :24:10.
huge role in this as well. You are businessmen here. Tell us the | :24:11. | :24:14.
difference it makes. It brings a local community together with | :24:15. | :24:16.
businesses and promotes local products. A good opportunity to | :24:17. | :24:22.
network and share in the festive spirit as well. It is great for all | :24:23. | :24:28.
the family and great for the families knowing what businesses | :24:29. | :24:32.
exist in the area. We have been to almost every single door "I just | :24:33. | :24:38.
about. Has there been a magical highlight for you? All of them. They | :24:39. | :24:45.
are all different. It has been wonderful here this evening. Plenty | :24:46. | :24:49.
of community spirit. We are off to do the weathermen. It | :24:50. | :24:54.
must be a nice hat shop `` we are off to do the weather now. | :24:55. | :25:13.
Now we will look at the weekend weather. We had a bit of a grey, | :25:14. | :25:22.
dampen greedy day`to`day. Satellite pictures show there was plenty of | :25:23. | :25:27.
cloud around and dampness as well. That's dampness is set to clear | :25:28. | :25:30.
through in the next few hours and in fact, we will see the sky is | :25:31. | :25:33.
beginning to clear as well. One or two showers could crop up, but in | :25:34. | :25:39.
the most part, it looks like we'll see a dry nights to come. Around | :25:40. | :25:46.
2`3dC in towns and cities, so rural spots could a bit lower, maybe even | :25:47. | :25:52.
a touch of frost. A chilly start to Saturday morning. But at a bright | :25:53. | :25:57.
one for most of us as well. We will see sunny spells as well. Cloud | :25:58. | :26:01.
begins from the West as the morning draws on. It looks like tomorrow is | :26:02. | :26:08.
quite a decent day, try for the most part, breezy and cloudy in the | :26:09. | :26:11.
afternoon. It looks like the evening period is when we will see the wet | :26:12. | :26:15.
weather arrived. A relatively mild day with temperatures of 10`12. | :26:16. | :26:23.
Overnight, a band of rain will arrive from the West. A bit on the | :26:24. | :26:27.
easy side as well. That's rain sweeps through quite quickly and by | :26:28. | :26:30.
the time we reach dawn, I suspect it will pretty much disappeared. We are | :26:31. | :26:36.
looking for a relatively dry end to the night with temperatures in bit | :26:37. | :26:39.
milder than tonight. Looking ahead to Sunday, we start with a dry, | :26:40. | :26:46.
possibly write a fair, but the cloud will build. By the time we reach | :26:47. | :26:51.
lunchtime, we expect to see rain from the south`west. It will be | :26:52. | :26:55.
another breezy day. We have got more of those breezy, wet conditions into | :26:56. | :27:00.
Sunday evening. As we start the new working week, we stick with the | :27:01. | :27:03.
unsettled fame. It looks like we will have more showers and prolonged | :27:04. | :27:12.
spells of rain at times. Something for you, very special, on | :27:13. | :27:16.
Monday. It has been an business wish lists since 1957. The electric car | :27:17. | :27:24.
racing game Scalextric is a best seller around the world. But | :27:25. | :27:26.
Scalextric started in Hampshire ` the invention of Fred Francis from | :27:27. | :27:29.
Havant. David Allard will have the story of the man who called himself | :27:30. | :27:33.
the toymaker. I will bet every father will be | :27:34. | :27:36.
watching that. We have got some other lovely films for you next week | :27:37. | :27:38.
as well. watching that. We have got some | :27:39. | :27:41.
other I will be looking back on a sort of review of the week as well, | :27:42. | :27:44.
so join us next week. Have a great weekend. Goodbye. | :27:45. | :27:48. |
