Good evening. Some train fares in the south west doubled in price

today. Arriva Cross Country is now going to make everyone travelling

before 9:30am by a full price ticket. Other fares have off at --

have also jumped by more than inflation. A reverse says it has

the country. Anyone travelling on the early trains from Penzance to

Glasgow will now have to pay �427 for a return ticket instead of

dangers of solo expeditions after a fatal accident in Cornwall on New

Year's Day. A 49-year-old man died after his canoe overturned at

Golitha Falls, near Liskeard. This is where the River Fowey tumbles of

Bodmin Moor. A popular beauty spot but treated with the greatest

respect by all those who know how unpredictable this stretch of water

can be. I've lived here for nearly 50 years now. If you get a lot of

water like we've had in the last week, it can come up very quickly.

Plans to turn HMS Ark Royal into an artificial reef off south Devon

have received a boost. �6.5 million has been secured to help buy, strip

and then sink the redundant aircraft carrier. The new reef

could attract hundreds of divers to Torbay. It was born as even between

near-neighbours Exeter City and Yeovil Town at St James's Park and

a 1-1 draw. But others took the lead just before the interval. City

As the number of people playing tennis balls, there's been a big

push to keep girls interested in the sport. Dozens of schoolchildren

have been honing their skills at the University of Exeter. The

south-west has many talented players but girls generally give up

the game as they get older. One Devon county champion told us it's

a valuable scheme. I think an event like this is brilliant because the

amount of girls that played tennis is limited compared to boys. I
