Light at the end of the tunnel. Are there sign our economy is beginning | :00:13. | :00:17.
to grow? Good evening. Research suggests we may be on the road to | :00:17. | :00:21.
recovery. We will be live in Weymouth where new businesss are | :00:21. | :00:24.
blooming. Also on Spotlight. Limbering up for the Olympics, the | :00:24. | :00:29.
local people who will be the guiding lights of the games. | :00:29. | :00:34.
think it is fantastic for Cornwall. If you stop and think, it is the | :00:34. | :00:38.
biggest sporting event in the world. It begins here, in Cornwall, with | :00:38. | :00:43.
the relay. And in a class of their own. Why these pupils are schooling | :00:43. | :00:51.
at the local rugby club. First tonight, new research shows | :00:51. | :00:53.
significant evidence of business growth in the south-west, | :00:53. | :00:58.
especially in some of the most deprived areas. The information | :00:58. | :01:03.
experts Experian conducted the research for the BBC. Exeter comes | :01:03. | :01:07.
out particularly well and is? The top ten places in England for | :01:07. | :01:11.
businesses that show high potential for significant future growth. | :01:11. | :01:16.
North Devon and Torbay rank well. The number of businesses in | :01:16. | :01:22.
Cornwall grew from more than 31,000, to more than 32,500. The third | :01:22. | :01:26.
biggest increase in the country. Despite an overall growth in bidss, | :01:26. | :01:31.
Taunton Deane had one of the highest reductions of self-employed | :01:31. | :01:37.
people in the country, down 6.1% to 4 200. Weymouth has the highest | :01:37. | :01:41.
proportion of business start ups in the south-west, and our reporter is | :01:41. | :01:47.
in Dorset for us this evening. Yes, good news in Weymouth and Portland | :01:47. | :01:51.
tonight. More and more businesses are setting up here, so before the | :01:52. | :01:55.
Olympics have begun, it is there something the legacy of the games | :01:55. | :01:59.
will leave behind. I will ask that question to one of the councillor, | :01:59. | :02:06.
first I have been to meet one of the new businesses set up here. Amy | :02:06. | :02:14.
and Kirsty opening their new business two years ago. Heavenly | :02:15. | :02:18.
Bumping is -- bump is an internet business. It is one of many new | :02:18. | :02:23.
business start ups in Weymouth and Portland. It a brave thing to do in | :02:23. | :02:28.
this climate, but we felt so passionate about our jobs, that we | :02:28. | :02:32.
really wants to set something up. We knew there was a gap in the | :02:32. | :02:37.
market for affordable clothing, especially on line. The areas seen | :02:37. | :02:43.
the highest number of business start ups across the south-west. | :02:43. | :02:47.
Weymouth and Portland is a fantastic place to live. To be able | :02:47. | :02:50.
to work here with fantastic job opportunities is ideal. I think | :02:50. | :02:55.
what the Olympics have given us is crated an energy and buzz between | :02:55. | :02:58.
the business community that has given people the confidence and | :02:58. | :03:03.
ideas to start up their own businesses. When it comes to | :03:03. | :03:07.
champion business, ebg -- Exeter is the star of the region. Fair energy | :03:07. | :03:11.
started three years ago as a one man show, now it employs 19 people. | :03:11. | :03:18.
Although much of the credit must go to generous feed in tariffs. | :03:18. | :03:21.
Government are incentivising biomass technology, which is | :03:21. | :03:25.
fortunate for us as a business. It is probably the greatest thing. | :03:25. | :03:29.
Obviously people are interested in being more green, but it is | :03:29. | :03:34.
expensive to do this stuff so the Government incentives have helped. | :03:34. | :03:38.
So evidence tonight of local growth across much of the south-west. It | :03:38. | :03:42.
may not be the full picture, but enough perhaps to give some hope | :03:42. | :03:49.
for the future. Well I am skpwroind councillor Ian Munroe-price. You | :03:49. | :03:54.
are the brief holder for economic develop p. Is this success down to | :03:54. | :03:58.
the Olympics? No short know. People have known for a long time what a | :03:58. | :04:01.
great place to live and work Weymouth and Portland is, but I | :04:01. | :04:06.
think the Olympics is helping to driv forward legacy benefit, such | :04:06. | :04:09.
as the relief road and the superfast broadband we are seeing | :04:09. | :04:13.
at the moment. The real legacy for the Olympics will be after, when we | :04:13. | :04:16.
have had the publicity and more people find out what a great place | :04:16. | :04:21.
to live this is. You paint a good picture but things, businesses are | :04:21. | :04:25.
still struggling and some o still closing. We understand we have a | :04:25. | :04:29.
lot to do keep the momentum rolling forward and create a vibrant | :04:29. | :04:32.
situation in which businesses can do business. We have a few | :04:32. | :04:36.
initiatives going forward, we have got the events in August, with the | :04:36. | :04:41.
Dorset business club, and the UK trade and investment, to bring | :04:41. | :04:45.
businesses here, highlight the export opportunities to local | :04:45. | :04:49.
businesses, and the Weymouth bid for the town ten ser -- centre is | :04:49. | :04:53.
trying to create a vibrant town centre. Thank you for joining us, | :04:53. | :04:57.
beautiful evening here in Weymouth. A nice breeze. Perfect conditions | :04:57. | :05:02.
for sailing event that will be happening here soon. Thank you very | :05:02. | :05:06.
much. Although there are signs of business recovery in the region, | :05:06. | :05:11.
one firm in Devon has criticised the Government for not doing enough. | :05:11. | :05:14.
Inject plastic has won the contract to manufacture children's suitcases | :05:14. | :05:17.
which were featured on the BBC television programme Dragon's Den. | :05:17. | :05:21.
They were previously made in China. It is the sort of private sector | :05:21. | :05:25.
success which ministers say will drive the economy forward, but as | :05:25. | :05:29.
Dave Harvey reports the firm says more tax breaks are needed to help | :05:29. | :05:39.
businesses. Meter rens and Trixi. The world's first and only ride on | :05:39. | :05:47.
suitcases for globe trotting tots. I'm out. I too am out. The dragons | :05:47. | :05:51.
didn't bite but the public certainly have. We have gone on | :05:51. | :05:55.
from strength to strength. It is not just the UK we are exporting to | :05:55. | :05:59.
62 countries and the proof is in the finances over the last 12 month, | :06:00. | :06:06.
we have turned over six million. Currently there is two factories in | :06:06. | :06:11.
China that make the case. Well that is all about to change. We are | :06:11. | :06:15.
delighted to say we have made the decision to make them in the UK now. | :06:15. | :06:22.
It has been a long passion of mine to be able to do this. I am dealing | :06:22. | :06:28.
with crazy pricing in shipping from the far east. We are able to create | :06:28. | :06:33.
a more sustainable product. Our carbon footprint is reduced. | :06:33. | :06:38.
decision has created 20 new jobs in Devon and allowed the factory to | :06:38. | :06:42.
expand further. But this equipment is expensivement We are spending | :06:42. | :06:46.
about 500,000 on new equipment this year. Until two years ago, | :06:46. | :06:50.
manufacturers like this could write off 40% of that investment against | :06:50. | :06:56.
their tax bill. That tax break has now been halved, to 18%.. You hear | :06:56. | :06:59.
on the news a lot that the Government is supporting | :06:59. | :07:03.
manufacturing, but when you get down into it, there is very little | :07:03. | :07:09.
support there, and any support would be welcome. With me is our | :07:09. | :07:12.
political editor Martin oets. There was criticism in that film of the | :07:12. | :07:15.
Government not doing enough to help manufacturing, what would they say | :07:15. | :07:20.
they are doing to help? In a speech a few weeks ago the Business | :07:21. | :07:24.
Secretary said millioning e-- manufacturing is at the heart of | :07:24. | :07:27.
the strategy. He says that it is investing hundreds of millions of | :07:27. | :07:31.
pounds to boost manufacturing across the country. We have a | :07:31. | :07:34.
special debate coming up looking at the economy, within that there was | :07:34. | :07:39.
criticism of the banks as well.. My experience is that the entire | :07:39. | :07:44.
banking industry has closed to what is described as bucket and spade | :07:44. | :07:49.
style hotels. There are two hotels adjoining my three that are both | :07:49. | :07:55.
closed down, boarded up, almost 50 full-time jobs lost, because the | :07:55. | :08:01.
entire banking industry will not give a mortgage to a hotel. Both | :08:01. | :08:05.
this Government and the last have tried various initiatives to get | :08:05. | :08:08.
the banks lending more readily again, they have left that | :08:08. | :08:12.
gentleman rather underWestminstered, to say the least. Tomorrow though, | :08:12. | :08:15.
ahead of the budget we expect anmouncement on and probably the | :08:15. | :08:19.
launch of the Government's latest big idea to get credit flowing, | :08:19. | :08:23.
hand is the national loan guarantee scheme, where by the Government | :08:23. | :08:28.
would guarantee bank loans, collectively up to a total of 20 | :08:28. | :08:31.
billion over the next two years for small and immediate yumed size | :08:31. | :08:35.
business, that is businesss with a turn over of up to 50 million. | :08:35. | :08:39.
This is something the Chancellor announced five months ago but it is | :08:39. | :08:42.
one of these things like the fuel rebate which needed EU permission | :08:42. | :08:48.
to get off the ground. That has been granted. Thank you for joining | :08:48. | :08:52.
us. We will look at the prospects for the south-west economy in a | :08:52. | :08:57.
special spot lithe debate tonight. I will be joined by a studio | :08:57. | :09:00.
audience of business people, jobseekers and MPs. That is Our | :09:00. | :09:07.
Economy, the Spotlight debate here on BBC One. On to the other big | :09:07. | :09:12.
news of day and the names of hundreds of torch bearers who will | :09:12. | :09:16.
carry the Olympic flame have been revealed. The exact route has been | :09:16. | :09:21.
announced. Starting at Land's End on day one it will make its way | :09:21. | :09:26.
through Cornwall, across the Tamar and wind its way to Plymouth Hoe. | :09:26. | :09:30.
We can go there now and join Natalie. Thank you. Yes, the south- | :09:30. | :09:34.
west is really going to play a major role in the journey of the | :09:34. | :09:37.
Olympic flame. The eyes of the world are going to be on the region, | :09:37. | :09:41.
when the flame arrives here for the very first time in this country. | :09:41. | :09:45.
Now, as you said it will make its way through Cornwall to this iconic | :09:45. | :09:49.
landmark, Plymouth Hoe, where it will pause and have the first | :09:49. | :09:52.
overnight rest. There will be a major party here to celebrate that | :09:52. | :09:57.
on May 19th. To get here there is going to be dozens up tos and | :09:57. | :10:07.
villages that it will pass there. - - of towns and villages. The 70 day | :10:07. | :10:12.
Olympic torch relay starts at Land's End at 7.15 in the morning | :10:12. | :10:19.
on Saturday 19th May. From there, it goes through Newlyn to Penzance. | :10:19. | :10:25.
Then the flame travels through, passing St Michael's mount before | :10:25. | :10:31.
heading through some village, before going up the main street of | :10:31. | :10:37.
Helstone. In Falmouth, schools running coach and former Olympic | :10:37. | :10:43.
10k triallist Dave Collins will be one of the 100 or so torch bearers | :10:43. | :10:47.
to carry it through Cornwall. it privilege for me. I think it is | :10:47. | :10:51.
fantastic. If you stop and think, it is the biggest sporting event in | :10:51. | :10:55.
the world. It begins here in Cornwall, with the relay. The torch | :10:55. | :11:01.
next appears here in Truro at round 12.30. It will come down the street | :11:01. | :11:08.
here and then they will jog past the Cathedral, before it heads to | :11:08. | :11:12.
Newquay. There the town's streets and the school are on the route. | :11:12. | :11:17.
And then the Olympic flame comes here, to Cornwall's China clay | :11:17. | :11:23.
country and they will get a fantastic close up view in those | :11:23. | :11:31.
China clay villages. As well as the Eden Project and St Austell itself. | :11:31. | :11:38.
Next stop this town. The children of the school will be here to watch. | :11:38. | :11:44.
Aren't you? Yes! All the children are excited about the idea that big | :11:44. | :11:48.
things don't happen in the town, so we are not used to things like this. | :11:48. | :11:56.
From there the torch bearers will pound the roads and pavements on to | :11:56. | :12:01.
the Tamar Bridge. This is the Olympic torch and it will cross | :12:01. | :12:07.
from Cornwall into Devon on 19th of may. And it will go along Devonport | :12:07. | :12:13.
at 7.30 and in through the city and on to the Ho for a big party so I | :12:13. | :12:21.
am told. Next morning it will travel through the villages and on | :12:21. | :12:26.
to Torbay. Then up to Exeter where it stays overnight. Then on Monday | :12:26. | :12:32.
it passes through Minehead and on to Taunton on 22nd May. It Leighs | :12:32. | :12:36.
the south-west. The Olympic spirit has begun to weave its excitement | :12:36. | :12:40.
among the torch bearers. It is a historic event. People will be | :12:40. | :12:43.
talking about it for year, to say I was there on the day and holding | :12:43. | :12:48.
the torch, it will be amazing. do you -- why do you think you were | :12:48. | :12:53.
chose snn. I do a lot of charity work, I sing for charity so that | :12:54. | :12:58.
maybe why. How heavy is the torch? You going to cope? It is very light. | :12:58. | :13:04.
I am sure on the day the elation will make it lighter. Why you been | :13:04. | :13:08.
chosen? Because of the work I do with dimember sha, I am on the | :13:09. | :13:13.
board nationally for the Alzheimer's Society, and I am also | :13:13. | :13:20.
vice-chairman of a youth football club, in Saltash. So, plenty of | :13:20. | :13:24.
voluntary work. Of course the torch does come back to the south-west on | :13:24. | :13:28.
12th July, it travels through Dorset, to our own Olympic venue | :13:28. | :13:37.
for the sailing. I am joined by former Royal Marine Mark Ormerod | :13:37. | :13:47.
:13:47. | :13:49. | ||
who has heard he will be one of the How did you got the news. I got an | :13:49. | :13:53.
e-mail before Christmas that I was provisionally accepted. On Friday, | :13:53. | :13:58.
I got the final e-mail to say I had been accepted and I was going to do | :13:58. | :14:06.
it on 20th Mair. It is quite an o' an hour. -- 209 May. Yes I was | :14:06. | :14:09.
fortunate to spend several years travelling the world representing | :14:09. | :14:14.
my country in the military and now I have been given the privilege of | :14:14. | :14:18.
carrying the flame through my home city. Since your injuries in | :14:18. | :14:23.
Afghanistan, you have had the chance to do a lots of things. How | :14:23. | :14:27.
does this rank? This is up the top. This is a once in a lifetime | :14:28. | :14:32.
opportunity and I don't, well I know ill never get this opportunity | :14:32. | :14:36.
again. Will do my best to represent Plymouth the best I can and make | :14:36. | :14:40.
sure I don't drop it! Are you going to run or walk with it. It must be | :14:40. | :14:45.
difficult to run? With the one arm, it will be difficult to run. I | :14:45. | :14:52.
think I will walk it. I need my arm to pump while I'm running. I think | :14:53. | :14:59.
will walk. It will be emotional? Yes, it's, I can't explain what an | :14:59. | :15:03.
honour it is, the people that voted for me and getting through all | :15:03. | :15:08.
those people and being confirmed in my home city, it's amazing. Well | :15:08. | :15:13.
done and thank you for talking us to. That is all for now. Back to | :15:13. | :15:18.
you in the studio. Thank you. Natalie will be back later with | :15:18. | :15:27.
more sport. You can find out more of the torch relay route on the the | :15:27. | :15:32.
web-site. We will pleat more of the torch bearers throughout this week. | :15:32. | :15:36.
-- meet more. Parents trying to save a troubled private school in | :15:36. | :15:40.
North Devon say they've managed to raise enough money to try and buy | :15:40. | :15:42.
the building. St Michaels at Tawstock went into administration | :15:42. | :15:44.
just after Christmas because of falling numbers. Pupils that are | :15:44. | :15:48.
left are now having lessons at a local rugby club while they wait to | :15:48. | :15:55.
find out their fate. Sarah Ransome has the details. This rugby club | :15:55. | :15:58.
might be an unusual substitution for a set of visitors more used to | :15:58. | :16:02.
a traditional classroom, but for these children from St Michael's it | :16:03. | :16:09.
is not about location, but about education. The private small and is | :16:09. | :16:15.
now up for sale. Parent and pupils have raised 1 million to try and | :16:15. | :16:21.
buy it. I was there since I was three months old. So it kind of | :16:21. | :16:27.
meant something to finish St Michael's off and it's quite | :16:27. | :16:33.
special and unique. The whole St Michael's feeling. As we have the | :16:34. | :16:39.
same class mates and teacher, it still feels special. Many children | :16:39. | :16:43.
have already moved on. Worried parents of those left are pleased | :16:43. | :16:48.
they have got somewhere to go. first I was concerned, but the | :16:48. | :16:51.
children seemed to adjust and they have been happy to come here and | :16:51. | :16:57.
they see it as school. So no, we have adjusted with them. Falling | :16:57. | :17:03.
numbers have been blamed for the school closing. The parents support | :17:03. | :17:07.
group believes selling it is about more than just the bottom line. | :17:07. | :17:12.
have got to look at the aspects of community and financial aspects. I | :17:12. | :17:18.
don't think we're looking for the minister to do us any favours. Was | :17:18. | :17:22.
we have want them to look at our bid in a realistic way and say | :17:22. | :17:29.
there is more than just money. statement the administrators said | :17:29. | :17:32.
they recognised the special circumstances of bid and are | :17:32. | :17:37.
treating it seriously. All bids need to be in by the end of week. | :17:37. | :17:43.
Only then will these visitors know if their try has been successful. | :17:43. | :17:46.
South West doctors and academics who oppose the Government's health | :17:46. | :17:49.

Medical School are among senior healthcare professionals fiercely | :17:53. | :17:56.
opposed to the Health and Social Care Bill. They say they'll target | :17:56. | :18:03.
the seats of MPs who've voted for it. Details of a 1 million project | :18:03. | :18:07.
to make the most of North Devon's fishing industry have been unveiled. | :18:07. | :18:09.
The idea is for people in Clovelly, Ilfracombe, Bideford and Appledore | :18:09. | :18:13.
to benefit as much as possible. The funding is aimed at increasing jobs | :18:13. | :18:16.
and business opportunities, as well as enhancing the market for local | :18:16. | :18:22.
fish. Devon's Military Wives Choir has gone to No 1 in the album | :18:22. | :18:27.

time to go back to Plymouth Hoe now from where Natalie can bring us the | :18:50. | :18:54.
weekend's sports round up. To football now and it was a | :18:54. | :18:56.
significant weekend for our sides as they continue their promotion | :18:56. | :19:00.
and relegation battles. It's looking grim for Exeter City in | :19:00. | :19:02.
League One's relegation zone. Torquay are going great guns near | :19:02. | :19:05.
the top of League Two, while Plymouth boosted their survival | :19:05. | :19:15.
:19:15. | :19:19. | ||
chances, but aren't out of danger chances, but aren't out of danger | :19:19. | :19:22.
yet. Dave Gibbins rounds it all up. Torquay have eyes on the League Two | :19:22. | :19:32.
title. Their 4-1 win at Burton came from Stevens. They led to the | :19:32. | :19:36.
sacking of the brewer's manager after the game. It is United's | :19:36. | :19:41.
fourth win in five and it is top against second tomorrow at the | :19:41. | :19:46.
County Ground as Torquay could go a point behind Swindon if they win. | :19:46. | :19:54.
Plymouth thanked a keeper's error that let in a free kick for only | :19:54. | :19:59.
goal against Shrewsbury. They crawl out of the bottom two and a win | :19:59. | :20:03.
tomorrow will ease their worries. In League One, the alarm bells are | :20:03. | :20:09.
ringing at Exeter City. A 2-1 set back to Preston cease City up to | :20:09. | :20:15.
their necks in the relegation swamp. Preston pounced late on and it | :20:15. | :20:19.
means victory against Wycombe tomorrow is essential in their bid | :20:19. | :20:25.
to escape the drop. Yeovil are up to half way and in calmer water | :20:26. | :20:32.
after their 2-1 win over Walsall. Williams turned the match around. | :20:32. | :20:38.
Taking the strike tore ten in as many games. -- striker to ten in as | :20:38. | :20:43.
many games. There was good news and bad news for our rugby sides | :20:43. | :20:46.
involved in the championship play offs. Cornish Pirates victory hopes | :20:46. | :20:48.
suffered a blow, but Plymouth Albion recorded a much needed win | :20:48. | :20:54.
in their battle for survival. Here's Brent Pilnick. It may not | :20:54. | :21:02.
have been pretty, but a win's a win. Albion fans fell for the right boot | :21:02. | :21:10.
of James Love. He put over six penaltys to seal an 18-11 victory. | :21:10. | :21:18.
It gol Albion their first win in six matches. But the Cornish | :21:18. | :21:23.
Pirates are still yet to win in the top of the table play offs and | :21:23. | :21:28.
conceded a last minute try after some controversial refereeing | :21:28. | :21:34.
decisions. Well done to Plymouth Raiders who've won the first leg of | :21:34. | :21:37.
basketball's BBL Trophy final. They now take a nine-point lead to | :21:37. | :21:40.
Newcastle Eagles for this Friday's second leg. The Raiders won the | :21:40. | :21:43.
first leg 97-88. They overturned a six point deficit in the final | :21:43. | :21:45.
quarter and restricted the Champions to just four points in | :21:45. | :21:55.
:21:55. | :22:00. | ||
the last three and a half minutes of the match. That's all from here | :22:00. | :22:05.
for now. Don't forget we'll be back up here on the Hoe on Sunday for | :22:05. | :22:08.
Sport Relief when thousands of you will go the extra mile for charity. | :22:08. | :22:17.
will go the extra mile for charity. For now good bye. A lovely sun set | :22:17. | :22:21.
there. The weather in a few minutes. There were cookery demonstrations | :22:21. | :22:24.
with a difference in Cornwall over the weekend. The techniques and | :22:24. | :22:27.
recipes used were more than 3,000 years old and some of them took | :22:27. | :22:30.
place in an Iron Age round house. Spotlight's Emma Thomasson takes up | :22:30. | :22:40.
:22:40. | :22:41. | ||
the story. For thousands of years people in Britain lived in round | :22:41. | :22:47.
houses like this one, the reed roof and walls have taken volunteers at | :22:47. | :22:52.
this field school near Truro around 18 months to build. This is a copy | :22:52. | :23:00.
of a house from Sussex. It is cut into the side of hill. So we can | :23:00. | :23:07.
can have a sleeping platform. Jackie has spent years researching | :23:07. | :23:14.
pre-historic cookery and proving that food can compete with today's | :23:14. | :23:20.
Master Chef offerings. Trout baked in mud - gorgeous! Tasting food | :23:20. | :23:26.
that was pre-historic is always a must. We can always relate to food | :23:26. | :23:32.
and think we can taste something, why should people have had horrible | :23:32. | :23:40.
food then. They had wild game and meat and fish. Outside they're | :23:40. | :23:47.
cooking lamb and beef in a pool of water heated by hot stones. How is | :23:47. | :23:53.
this for a hot plate and stove all in one? Bean cake anyone? It is a | :23:53. | :23:59.
special place and I found it interesting. The food was brilliant. | :23:59. | :24:04.
I like seeing it live, so you can look at the remains and see that is | :24:04. | :24:09.
why it is like that. It helps you to understand how the people lived, | :24:09. | :24:16.
which brings it to life. Dozen of visitors came to see and taste how | :24:16. | :24:24.
it was done 3,500 years ago. Fascinating. That food looked good | :24:24. | :24:29.
as well. For 3,000 years old it didn't look bad. Now weather with | :24:29. | :24:37.
Helen. Some lovely sun sets tonight. Red sky at night shepherd's | :24:37. | :24:40.
Red sky at night shepherd's delight? We will see more cloud | :24:40. | :24:44.
tomorrow, but day has been a beautiful day. The rest of the week | :24:44. | :24:50.
we will see some more cloud. There is still some sunny spells and it | :24:50. | :24:54.
should be dry. We can see some pictures from earlier on today. | :24:54. | :25:00.
These were taken by Dan, our cameraman. Beautiful skies here. | :25:00. | :25:07.
Just some patchy cloud in Tawstock. We are going to see increasing | :25:07. | :25:13.
amounts of cloud over the next 12 to 24 hours. The satellite shows | :25:13. | :25:19.
that band of cloud to the north, slowly creeping towards us. Already | :25:19. | :25:22.
across western parts of Cornwall. It will continue the make its way | :25:22. | :25:27.
in tonight, but it mean it won't be as cold as recent nights. We have | :25:27. | :25:32.
high pressure close by to the south. The weather fronts to the north and | :25:32. | :25:37.
there is lilt change by tomorrow. Still high pressure cles by, but we | :25:37. | :25:42.
will see more cloud. By Wednesday, the centre of that high starts to | :25:42. | :25:47.
move away and that will allow more cloud to push in towards us. Here | :25:48. | :25:53.
is a closer look at the satellite and radar from earlier on. We did | :25:53. | :25:58.
see that cloud bubbling up across south-west England. But still a lot | :25:58. | :26:05.
of sunshine. The band of cloud currently out to west will push in | :26:05. | :26:09.
to us. And for most of us through the early hours it will be cloudy | :26:09. | :26:16.
and it won't be as cold as last night. Temperatures by dawn around | :26:16. | :26:21.
four Celsius. Tomorrow, there will be more cloud around, the best | :26:21. | :26:25.
chance of any brightness will be to the east of the moors. The cloud | :26:25. | :26:31.
thick enough for a spot of drizzle around the hills. But dry for most | :26:31. | :26:38.
and temperatures up to 14. The Isles of Scilly cloudy, but | :26:38. | :26:47.
generally dry. A top temperature of 11 Celsius. For the surfers, not a | :26:47. | :26:52.
huge amount of swell around. Up to three feet and clean on the north | :26:52. | :26:56.
coast. So not too bad. Here is the forecast for coastal waters | :26:56. | :27:02.
tomorrow. Winds from the south-west, force three or four and the weather | :27:02. | :27:07.
fair. The outlook, there will be some cloud, but also further bright | :27:07. | :27:12.
spells, temperatures up to 15 Celsius by Thursday. Thank you. Now, | :27:12. | :27:15.
just before we go I'll be interviewing Shaun Sawyer, the new | :27:15. | :27:17.
acting Chief Constable for Devon and Cornwall Police, tomorrow | :27:17. | :27:21.
morning. You'll be able to see that interview on our 1.30 news and | :27:21. | :27:24.
Spotlight and if there are any questions you'd like me to put to | :27:24. | :27:30. |
