Living in poverty. The thousands of people struggling to pay their

:00:11.:00:17.

bills. I wasn't going out and spending on frivolous things, it

:00:17.:00:23.

was just living. I was trying to live. Good evening. June is now

:00:23.:00:28.

debt free but what help is out there for the other 14,000

:00:28.:00:31.

households living in poverty? Forced to move on. Why some

:00:31.:00:38.

travellers may have to leave their soon to be legal site. We are in

:00:38.:00:44.

the dizzy heights of Dorset as one of the newest attractions gets its

:00:44.:00:49.

crowning glory. And marching into the sunshine, but how long will the

:00:49.:00:57.

summer sun last? Tonight, 11,000 children are living in poverty in

:00:57.:01:00.

the south-west's biggest city, of Plymouth. A report to the City

:01:00.:01:04.

Council shows the extent of how many people are living below the

:01:04.:01:08.

breadline. It shows 14,000 homes are struggling to pay their fuel

:01:08.:01:14.

bills. The waiting list for social house stands at more than 12,000.

:01:14.:01:18.

3,000 are classed as urgent cases. The authorities have come up with

:01:18.:01:22.

an ambitious plan to tackle the problem. We went to meet one family

:01:22.:01:27.

who know what it is like to live in poverty. Life is finally getting

:01:27.:01:32.

back on track for June and her daughter Charlotte. 12 months ago

:01:32.:01:37.

June discovered she was 14,000 in debt when she separated from her

:01:37.:01:42.

husband. Money got so tight she contemplated taking her own life.

:01:42.:01:48.

It was like no way can I pay this off. I used to make token payments

:01:48.:01:52.

of a pound to them. You realise a miracle isn't going to happen. You

:01:52.:01:57.

will have to deal with it. But it was, yeah, very scary. I felt like

:01:57.:02:03.

I had to take on the responsibility, get more money, take on more work,

:02:03.:02:07.

it was tiring and it was exhausting and stressful. There was arguments

:02:07.:02:13.

that shouldn't have happened, and a bridge that got formed between me

:02:13.:02:18.

and mum that in the end got broken. They turned to Christians against

:02:18.:02:21.

poverty for help and although they are still living on a tight budget,

:02:21.:02:26.

they are now debt free. The charity says it has seen a massive rise in

:02:26.:02:32.

demand for its service. We help in a practical way and one had a boy

:02:32.:02:35.

who was sleeping on the floor. We managed within the church, somebody

:02:35.:02:38.

gave a single divan bed and the little boy was waiting for us to

:02:39.:02:42.

arrive. He ran out of the house and hugged the bed. We took it inside

:02:42.:02:46.

and he opened the drawers and he was in and out of them, it was like

:02:46.:02:51.

the best thing he had ever been guven. The charity is setting up

:02:51.:02:55.

another office to help a further 100 familys a year. But if today's

:02:55.:03:00.

report is anything to go by, will only be the tip of the iceberg.

:03:00.:03:03.

Plymouth City Council has come up with a five year plan to get more

:03:03.:03:08.

people out of poverty. Improving housing is a key factor. More

:03:08.:03:12.

helping people who are in poverty, and at the same time, developers

:03:12.:03:17.

will be coming in, and developers who are prepared to put millions of

:03:17.:03:21.

pounds into the city of Plymouth, because they look upon it as the

:03:22.:03:26.

growth centre of the south-west. course they haven't got enough

:03:26.:03:29.

housing stock. One of the worst things was the selling off of

:03:29.:03:34.

council house, what I would like to see is spending some money that

:03:34.:03:37.

when houses which were formally council houses come back on the

:03:37.:03:40.

market perhaps the council would buy them and bring them back in for

:03:40.:03:43.

use for people who need them. changes that the Government have

:03:43.:03:49.

made are not equipping Local Authorities with the power, and the

:03:49.:03:51.

apparatus they immediate to transform housing, and at the

:03:51.:03:56.

moment, we are looking for transformation change in Plymouth.

:03:56.:04:00.

This document and this Government and this council does not deliver.

:04:00.:04:03.

In spite of the political wrangling, the authority says it is committed

:04:03.:04:12.

to making sure more people can keep a roof over their head. Housing has

:04:12.:04:15.

been on the national agenda today w the Government announcing new

:04:15.:04:19.

planning guidelines which it says will help provide much-needed new

:04:19.:04:23.

homes, boost jobs and protect the sun -- countryside. We will report

:04:23.:04:30.

from two schemes but first our Home Affairs correspondent joins us from

:04:30.:04:36.

a farm near Liskeard where the owners describe their attempt to

:04:36.:04:41.

diversify as a 30 year battle with the plans authorities. Nay have

:04:41.:04:47.

diversified. They wanted to dig more fishing lakes. But those

:04:47.:04:51.

proposals all fell foul of planning. But it is ideas like those which

:04:51.:04:54.

business leaders hope will be able to get the go-ahead under the

:04:54.:04:58.

deregulation of planning. Planning is of course a contentious issue,

:04:58.:05:03.

in a moment we will report from North Devon as a scheme which took

:05:03.:05:09.

ten years to get the go-ahead, a housing scheme. First, to Truro,

:05:09.:05:12.

and a contentious proposal there which took just ten months to get

:05:12.:05:18.

approval. These fields on the edge of Truro are due to become the

:05:18.:05:21.

city's so-called eastern district centre. The massive project has

:05:22.:05:25.

been put together by Cornwall Council, the Duchy of Cornwall,

:05:25.:05:29.

Waitrose and a local food group, the taste of Cornwall. The plans

:05:29.:05:34.

approved last week, ten months after they were submitted include a

:05:34.:05:40.

park and ride scheme, 100 house, a recycling centre and a supermarket.

:05:40.:05:45.

Objecttors say it ruins Truro's last green valley, breaks the

:05:45.:05:49.

city's boundary and will do untold damage to Truro oes town centre

:05:49.:05:53.

retailers. They claim if in can get through the old planning rules, the

:05:53.:06:00.

future will see a build freeing for all. They talk about protecting the

:06:00.:06:04.

countryside but I suspect it will end up as a developers charity.

:06:04.:06:09.

They will see more and more encroaching on the green fields

:06:09.:06:14.

that you see here. I can't see much hope for Cornwall, Devon or

:06:14.:06:17.

Somerset for that matter, which is steeped in beautiful surroundings,

:06:17.:06:20.

the very thing that people come here for in their droves is going

:06:20.:06:26.

to be lost once and for all. have a very good planning authority

:06:26.:06:31.

here in Cornwall. Everything is well debated. We do the

:06:31.:06:35.

consultations and major schemes like this, if they are granted do

:06:35.:06:39.

go to Secretary of State for final sign off. One community that knows

:06:39.:06:47.

about the red tape surrounding planning is High Bic -- Bickington.

:06:47.:06:51.

It has taken then ten years to get an affordable housing scheme build.

:06:51.:06:58.

Now families are starting to move in. My colleague has the story.

:06:58.:07:04.

Becky and her 14 month old daughter Chloe. We are home now. Along with

:07:04.:07:08.

dad Tom they have lived here for a week. It means a lot to us we have

:07:09.:07:12.

been able to get this house, because it means we can stay in the

:07:12.:07:16.

village where both our families are, we have our friends here and we are

:07:16.:07:20.

lived in a village all our live, and so we are pleased we have got

:07:20.:07:26.

it. The small rural village of High Bickington has round 800 residents.

:07:26.:07:31.

We live in a community that was dying, we have young people, who

:07:31.:07:35.

couldn't buy houses here, couldn't rent houses here, couldn't find

:07:35.:07:39.

work here, and we are going away and having to leave the area where

:07:39.:07:43.

they grew up. That is why they went to planning with this development

:07:43.:07:48.

in mind. But it has been a long time coming. People were beginning

:07:48.:07:51.

to wonder if it would happen, and as soon as the first people moved

:07:51.:07:55.

into the house, it is a great moment for the village, and the

:07:55.:08:00.

community. Today's plans to cut red tape are welcome, but with some

:08:00.:08:04.

caution. I guess as in all things the devil would be in the detail.

:08:04.:08:08.

They talk about 52 pages of the guideline, but what worries me is

:08:08.:08:13.

the thousand or so pages that might follow it a at a local level, one

:08:13.:08:16.

the planners get involved in trying to sort the detail of that out.

:08:16.:08:20.

community here hopes after today's announcement, no-one else will have

:08:20.:08:29.

to wait more than ten years to get a project through planning. With me

:08:29.:08:34.

now is Chris Bond from the land owners here. What do you make of

:08:34.:08:41.

the proposals? From the outset it is a proactive step. Do you think

:08:41.:08:44.

lit make a big difference is this we heard about some of the plans

:08:44.:08:47.

you had, do you think they would go ahead in future? We would like to

:08:47.:08:53.

think so and hope so. It just makes sure we are not bound in more red

:08:53.:08:58.

tape and need to release that quickly. Your idea of red tape, but

:08:58.:09:04.

look at this beautiful countryside. Conservationist say it protects it.

:09:04.:09:07.

Everyone wants everything but at the expense of nothing. To achieve

:09:07.:09:11.

that there is a fine balance. We believe we can achieve that and

:09:11.:09:15.

make it sustainable for environment and economy. But it is not nothing,

:09:15.:09:18.

the south-west relies on the countryside, the beauty to bring

:09:18.:09:23.

people in.. If you lose that, you lose the region. If we don't change

:09:23.:09:28.

it we will get left behind. We want to keep things as they are but they

:09:28.:09:32.

need to be modified to enhance what we have behind us, so without

:09:32.:09:37.

people going forward we will never achieve that. Do you have concerns

:09:37.:09:42.

about whether this will make a difference? It is a big concern,

:09:42.:09:46.

and will this legislation get down to the coal face, that is where we

:09:46.:09:50.

need it. And very quickly. I hope so. Thank you for joining us. One

:09:50.:09:56.

final word we, asked to speak to a representative from the Campaign to

:09:56.:09:58.

Protect Rural England but no-one was available to join us here

:09:58.:10:03.

tonight. To other news and large numbers of travellers living

:10:03.:10:07.

illegally in the middle of a wood could be forced out. A new legal

:10:07.:10:12.

site is planned at Haldon Hill near ex for, using a 1 million of

:10:12.:10:16.

Government money. But it will so small many of the twisting

:10:16.:10:22.

travellers could have to find somewhere else to live. -- existing.

:10:22.:10:26.

It is an area protected from development but travellers have

:10:26.:10:32.

lived here for ten years. Now, the council wants to regulate it by

:10:32.:10:35.

clearing it and creating permanent pitches. It is nice that the

:10:35.:10:40.

council have instead of using the money for other thing, they have

:10:40.:10:45.

offered it to us for a permanent pitch here we are grateful for that.

:10:45.:10:50.

There are more than 40 pitches at the moment, that would fall to just

:10:50.:10:54.

15. How the council decide who stays hasn't been revealed. Anyone

:10:54.:10:59.

who does, would pay a fee, and be subject to council tax. Well I for

:10:59.:11:09.
:11:09.:11:13.

one is not going to move. A lot of people are will stand at fightline

:11:13.:11:17.

like Dale Farm. People living in the village have mixed views but

:11:17.:11:24.

those who talks talked to us were supportive. The nettle needs to be

:11:24.:11:29.

grasped. They keep putting it off. We need to handle the situation

:11:29.:11:33.

sensitively, and hopefully, we will have a good outcome for all.

:11:33.:11:37.

long as they pay their council tabs. When they come in the village they

:11:37.:11:41.

are polite. The kids sometimes come to school and they are polite and

:11:41.:11:46.

they don't trouble anybody. The aim is to have the new site up and

:11:46.:11:52.

running within three years. Subject to planning permission. The south-

:11:52.:11:55.

west has some of the highest rates of amputations among people with

:11:55.:12:00.

diabetes and some experts say up tole 0% could have been avoided.

:12:00.:12:03.

Damaged to blood vessels ander ins is a side effect of disease which

:12:03.:12:08.

can lead to limbs being lost. Campaigners say the NHS must do

:12:08.:12:16.

more to prevent amputation. Trudy was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes

:12:16.:12:20.

aged five. It means she can't produce insulin to regulate the

:12:20.:12:25.

sugar in her blood. Her condition causes damage to blood vessels and

:12:25.:12:30.

nerve endings. That has led to her right leg being amputated and

:12:30.:12:36.

problems with her left leg. I can't walk far enough, so if I go out I

:12:36.:12:41.

have to go out with my wheelchair. Trudy is happy with her care but

:12:41.:12:45.

recent figures suggest a problem else. A cross England the annual

:12:45.:12:51.

rate of amputations is 2.7 per thousand adults with diabetes. In

:12:52.:12:57.

Somerset the figure is 4.8 and Devon 4.4. A leading charity is now

:12:57.:13:01.

campaigning for patients and professionals to focus on foot care.

:13:01.:13:05.

The south-west has a very poor record. The reason for it I think

:13:05.:13:09.

is probably down to lack of organisation and resources. Because

:13:09.:13:13.

most of these amputations could be avoided with the right care at the

:13:13.:13:20.

right time. Skpwroined up services are key. Dorset's reducing

:13:20.:13:25.

amputation rates with specialist teams to treat problems early. In

:13:25.:13:29.

Devon GPs ensure diabetes patients are screened regularly. In Somerset

:13:29.:13:32.

GPs and practise nurse are getting foot care training and hospital

:13:32.:13:38.

care is more streamlined. If you have a foot problem you can see our

:13:38.:13:43.

surgeon, a diabetes specialist, a podiatrist, that is relatively new.

:13:43.:13:47.

You get the different opinions all in the same place. For some

:13:47.:13:52.

amputation is inevitable, but campaigners say the numbers can and

:13:52.:14:00.

must be dramatically reduced. The Plymouth businessman Chris Dawson

:14:00.:14:05.

who owned the Range chain of stores says he aims to turn it into a 1

:14:05.:14:09.

billion business within four years, he is estimated to be worth more

:14:09.:14:15.

than 300 million and has planned to expand the business. In the

:14:15.:14:21.

latest of our interviews he told us about plans to put shops on trains.

:14:21.:14:26.

If you are on a three hour journey, and there was a shop, although you

:14:26.:14:31.

have your smartphones, if there was a shop to absorb some of the

:14:31.:14:35.

boredom, OK, and there is a danger you will start spending money, and

:14:35.:14:40.

all the things that really bore you to tears like you forgot your young

:14:40.:14:44.

lady's birthday, you get in a panic, I mow you can do it from your phone,

:14:44.:14:49.

if this shop is a better atmosphere than your iPhone, we would retail,

:14:49.:14:53.

especially on the three or four hour journeys, we would have what

:14:53.:14:59.

you wanted in that carriage. And where is the competition? It is

:14:59.:15:04.

just us. How far have you gone with this idea I have told you too much.

:15:04.:15:09.

You will have to find out. It is not far away. Let us talk more

:15:09.:15:14.

about the business and your control of it. You are across everything.

:15:14.:15:17.

work two days a week. I don't believe that for a start. You are

:15:17.:15:21.

right. You are across everything, you are in the stores on the shop

:15:21.:15:26.

floor on Saturday, Yes. Why don't you delegate more? I love the shop

:15:26.:15:29.

floor. How do you run a business if you don't understand it? I need to

:15:29.:15:34.

know what you like, you don't like, what I can improve, what I can't,

:15:34.:15:38.

Tescos not just lately but Tescos are the most successful retailers

:15:39.:15:43.

in my opinion of all time because they listen to what the market

:15:43.:15:47.

wants. There is a curve in business. There is no good you being there,

:15:47.:15:51.

you have to be there. You have to be in front of that so you can

:15:51.:15:57.

receive the kefr, not chase it, receive it. You have a great

:15:57.:16:01.

affection for Plymouth, born and raised here, what is it about

:16:01.:16:04.

Plymouth that keeps you here? do you run a business unless you

:16:04.:16:09.

are there all the time? You can't run it from a golf course, or a

:16:09.:16:13.

yacht. I have friends who do that, maybe that is me, I can't let go,

:16:13.:16:18.

it is not at all or hands on. And I quite enjoy living in Plymouth, but

:16:18.:16:24.

I also live in the south of France, in Cannes, and that is a bit flash

:16:24.:16:29.

that, I must tell you, who do you think my neighbour is? The Porsche

:16:29.:16:34.

family. I am trying to knock out a few cars. You have got your eye on

:16:34.:16:41.

the next big deal, what is the next big deal for you, what is in the

:16:42.:16:46.

pipeline? Not going to tell you too much about that one! Shall I give

:16:46.:16:52.

you a figure. You will get no names you won't get anything. It is about

:16:52.:16:57.

380 million, the purchase of it. I guess it is going to go over the

:16:57.:17:02.

four to purchase it. That is about all I can say, because it is so

:17:02.:17:08.

sensitive, and why do I want do that? Because I can see something

:17:08.:17:14.

what hopefully, well not hopefully, definitely, what they can't see.

:17:14.:17:18.

400 million. Here we go, we are borrowing. I don't borrow money n

:17:18.:17:21.

this particular case I would, but within six or eight moneys that,

:17:21.:17:25.

the economy I think will go flat for three or four years and it will

:17:25.:17:31.

move after that, that will be, if we are successful, which is the

:17:31.:17:36.

intention that, will be, that, let us call it 380. It won't go mad but

:17:36.:17:40.

it will be worth 580 this side of two years. So a company or ocean

:17:40.:17:45.

you have seen that isn't working or isn't delivering you think can

:17:45.:17:53.

deliver big time? With your input? Yeah. Definitely. So when we will

:17:53.:17:59.

we know, b when do you expect the deal to be siebed? Not for at least

:17:59.:18:04.

an hour. No, it is months away. are we talking about more job, I

:18:04.:18:09.

mean would you be creating more jobs as a result of this?

:18:09.:18:15.

Eventually. Eventually. That is enough now. Did you want a job by

:18:15.:18:21.

the way? If there is one going. You wow You would make a good manager.

:18:21.:18:26.

What you like on health and safety. I don't mow much. Your you're the

:18:26.:18:31.

man I am looking for. You can see the full interview on our Facebook

:18:31.:18:35.

page. You don't need to have your own account, all you need to go is

:18:35.:18:44.

go to the page. He is on his management training scheme at the

:18:44.:18:52.

moment. Now one of the region's newest tourist attractions has

:18:52.:18:57.

moved a step closer. When it opens this summer, up to 07 people at a

:18:57.:19:02.

time will be lifted 50 metres to get a bird's eye view of the coast.

:19:02.:19:07.

Just why is everyone looking sky wards? It is not the big orange

:19:07.:19:11.

ball making unusually early appearances this month. It is this

:19:11.:19:17.

50 metre high tower. When completed, Weymouth can be seen from a whole

:19:17.:19:21.

new perspective. It will be nice at the top looking out. It will be

:19:21.:19:25.

lovely. I think I am looking forward to having a go. It looks a

:19:25.:19:30.

bit scary at the moment! Good for Weymouth, I think so. People will

:19:30.:19:37.

come a long way to site and have a go on it. Hoisting the two large

:19:37.:19:42.

cylinders which weigh 16 tonnes was a delicate job. Work is ahead of

:19:42.:19:45.

schedule and although there are some people who don't like the look

:19:45.:19:51.

of it, the 3.5 million tower does offer a new selling point for the

:19:51.:19:55.

resort. Speaking to one of the engineers they could see over to

:19:55.:19:59.

about bri, really clearly, so there is a fantastic view. Anything up to

:19:59.:20:04.

10 or 15 miles. The viewing gondola will hold round 70 people. It will

:20:04.:20:10.

rise off the ground, in the next few weeks. The view across Weymouth

:20:10.:20:13.

looks fantastic, but just imagine what it is going to be like when

:20:13.:20:18.

you are inside this gondola, and you are revolving round 360 degrees,

:20:18.:20:23.

50 metres up in the air. Tickets go on sale this weekend. We don't yet

:20:23.:20:31.

know the price but I understand they will be less than 10. Lovely

:20:31.:20:35.

on a day like this. After five years of campaigning, Exeter

:20:35.:20:40.

airport has finally been given a memorial to mark the importance of

:20:40.:20:43.

the airfield in the Second World War. The south-west airfield's

:20:43.:20:48.

Heritage Trust has unveiled life- sized bronze statue of a Battle of

:20:48.:20:57.

Britain pilot. We were at the unveiling ceremony. The bronze

:20:57.:21:00.

World War II pilot has pride of place outside the airport terminal.

:21:00.:21:05.

Scanning the skies for signs of his comrades return, the statue marks

:21:05.:21:11.

the role that RAF Exeter played during wartime. It took Francis

:21:11.:21:15.

Margaret, a sculptor a year to complete. But a commission that

:21:16.:21:19.

became a labour of love. I managed to talk to one of the pilots and I

:21:19.:21:23.

said what it is like when you are waiting, for your friends to come

:21:23.:21:29.

back, when they are not home? What would you be doing? He said I would

:21:29.:21:31.

be counting, just counting the other planes in, and that meant so

:21:31.:21:35.

much to me as I was making this sculpture, because I could just

:21:35.:21:42.

hear his words, I would be counting. It is fantastic, so... Today's

:21:42.:21:46.

ceremony was a special occasion for 92-year-old Keith Lawrence, a

:21:46.:21:51.

former Spitfire pilot who remembers landing here many times during the

:21:51.:21:57.

Second World War. It would be a glance up to see if we could see

:21:57.:22:03.

what letters were on which aircraft which were landing back late, to

:22:03.:22:09.

reassure ourselves that we hadn't, not too many were missing. It is

:22:09.:22:13.

hoped the memorial -- memorial will make travellers pause for a moment

:22:13.:22:21.

and remember the role the airfield played defending the nation. Now we

:22:21.:22:24.

don't normally do this, send day have you had out when the weather

:22:24.:22:28.

is fine. Ant we kind! Tonight we have made an exception and he sup

:22:28.:22:32.

on the roof of Broadcasting House. on the roof of Broadcasting House.

:22:32.:22:36.

David, ever to you. We may all be having temperatures of 19 or 20 but

:22:36.:22:40.

up here with that chilli wind, it has been cold. -- chilly. The

:22:40.:22:44.

weather, the high temperatures have been having an impact, ser -- Sarah

:22:44.:22:48.

has been out to see what that impact is and more importantly

:22:48.:22:52.

whether it South Africa effecting whether it South Africa effecting

:22:52.:22:55.

the tourism industry already. Looking at the sun, glinting off

:22:55.:22:59.

the sea in this beautiful view of the west Cornwall coastline you

:22:59.:23:03.

could be forgiven for thising this was the middle of summer instead of

:23:03.:23:07.

the end of March. Normally, the temperature barely gets to double

:23:07.:23:12.

figures at this time of year, but in St Ives it has hit the high

:23:12.:23:17.

teens and elsewhere 20C. For some tourists in Weymouth, there has

:23:17.:23:22.

been only one place to be. It has been awesome. Non-stop sunshine. It

:23:22.:23:26.

is great. Can't believe it for March. It is great. Beautiful start.

:23:26.:23:29.

If it carries on, we have the Olympics coming up as well. And if

:23:29.:23:33.

you can get out in it like these day trippers in Dartmouth, it is a

:23:33.:23:39.

chance to sit back and enjoin it -- enjoy it. Here at Dartington like

:23:39.:23:42.

in many places the sun has brought out the flower, and the visitors

:23:42.:23:47.

too and for those involved in the tourist trade, this glorious

:23:47.:23:51.

weather just ahead of the Easter break count have -- couldn't have

:23:51.:23:55.

come at a better time. Everybody feels better. People are staying,

:23:55.:24:01.

people who are down for the weekend are saying can we stay Sunday,

:24:01.:24:06.

Monday night? Not only are people feeling good but it impacts on

:24:06.:24:09.

hotelier, they are out spending money. And you still have time to

:24:09.:24:12.

make the most of it, the good news is we have a couple more days of

:24:12.:24:21.

is we have a couple more days of this to come. That is a splendid

:24:21.:24:26.

view looking out across to Plymouth Sound and the Ho. We have had

:24:26.:24:30.

almost unbroken sunshine across the south-west. There has been a haze

:24:30.:24:36.

though. Tonight, it will be the same as last nigh. A lot of clear

:24:36.:24:40.

skies. So the with the clear skies it will turn chilly again and we

:24:40.:24:43.

will see temperatures down to three or four degrees in a few places but

:24:43.:24:49.

the breeze, the wind which has been keen will steadily drop overnight,

:24:49.:24:55.

tonight and tomorrow. There is no surprises that the weather is so

:24:55.:24:59.

fine when you see such a big hole over Europe. The high pressure is

:24:59.:25:03.

here to stay. But it moves. By lunchtime tomorrow it has moved

:25:03.:25:08.

west and by lunchtime on Thursday, it is beginning to move back out.

:25:08.:25:10.

It opens the door to northerly winds which will bring temperatures

:25:10.:25:14.

down, so after three or four days of high temperatures, by the end of

:25:14.:25:18.

the week and into the weekend the temperatures are set to fall. There

:25:18.:25:21.

is the big satellite picture showing the UK. Not really any

:25:21.:25:27.

cloud at all as you can see. As we zoom in e then that continues.

:25:27.:25:31.

Tonight the skies remain clear, and it will turn cold, as I have

:25:31.:25:38.

mentioned. Not so much of a breeze. And temperatures as low as three or

:25:38.:25:42.

four across parts of Somerset and East Devon. Seven or eight for west

:25:42.:25:46.

Devon and into Cornwall. So, let us look at tomorrow, it is more of the

:25:46.:25:51.

say more sunshine, really from dawn till dusk. There is hardly a change

:25:51.:25:55.

in that. Unbroken sunshine, lasting through to the end of the day.

:25:55.:25:59.

Temperatures, quite interesting with the temperatures for tomorrow,

:25:59.:26:03.

because we are probably going to find a 20 turn up but there is

:26:03.:26:07.

every chance we will see a 21 which will equal the March temperature

:26:07.:26:14.

back in 1965 on 30th March at Yeovilton where we achieved 21. And

:26:14.:26:18.

the information has come from the Met Office in Exeter. Looking at

:26:18.:26:24.

the aisles of sillly we will see fine weather here too. Isles of

:26:25.:26:30.

Scilly. The high pollen is coming out. The tree pollen. The wind not

:26:30.:26:35.

as strong as it hab has been. Not overly warm. On to the times of

:26:35.:26:41.

high water. In Plymouth that is 939 and 2152 am for surfers similar to

:26:41.:26:45.

the last couple of days. Not big waves but usable and clean,

:26:45.:26:50.

especially on the knot coast. There is the coastal waters forecast. The

:26:50.:26:55.

winds are mainly from the east tomorrow. They will become more

:26:55.:26:58.

north-easterly to the end of the day and lighter than they have been.

:26:58.:27:02.

Finally the look at the outlook. That is when it is set to change.

:27:02.:27:06.

Sadly for those who have loved the warm sunshine for the last couple

:27:06.:27:12.

of gais will see more cloud. Not just that, we get knotly winds.

:27:12.:27:16.

That will bring more cloud as I have said but also lower

:27:16.:27:19.

temperatures. By the time we get into the weekend we will see

:27:19.:27:23.

temperatures of 13 or 14. But a lovely day tomorrow, more fine

:27:23.:27:28.
