Queuing up for trouble - warnings the South West could run out of | :00:10. | :00:16.
fuel if people don't stop panic buying. Good evening and welcome to | :00:16. | :00:18.
Spotlight. Today concerns also turned to the effect on the tourism | :00:18. | :00:22.
industry if visitors stay away. We'll look at whether the fear | :00:22. | :00:26.
running empty is a huge problem or whether it will now calm down. Also | :00:26. | :00:30.
tonight: Positively beaming - a dramatic increase in the amount of | :00:30. | :00:36.
electricity being produced from our sunshine. And a warm glow at the | :00:36. | :00:39.
dock too as service families receive their loved ones with open | :00:39. | :00:47.
arms. The images of cars queuing up at petrol stations is one the | :00:47. | :00:50.
tourism industry would perhaps be glad to see at the beginning of the | :00:50. | :00:53.
school holidays. But as locals continued to stock up on fuel today, | :00:53. | :00:56.
there were concerns the visitors might not make it at all. The hope | :00:56. | :01:00.
tonight is that the decision by the tanker drivers to rule out a strike | :01:00. | :01:03.
for now might restore calm. Our reporter, John Henderson, is at a | :01:03. | :01:13.
:01:13. | :01:18. | ||
holiday park in Torbay. Yes look at this, enticing isn't it? A lovely | :01:18. | :01:22.
outdoor pool in a large holiday complex of which there are many in | :01:22. | :01:27.
the South West. There was a concern that places like this would stay | :01:27. | :01:32.
empty if the fuel problem carried on. Another day, another morning | :01:32. | :01:38.
spent queuing for fuel. This time a supermarket at painten. For these | :01:39. | :01:43.
motorists the options were limited. Pblgts I'm not bothered. If it runs | :01:43. | :01:51.
out, it runs out. It has been made up. It's the Government. And the | :01:51. | :01:56.
Prime Minister saying panic by a. But supplies were getting low. At | :01:56. | :02:02.
this garage it was all gone, a similar story across the region. | :02:02. | :02:11.
Then the new that there would be no strike over Easter. If it carry on | :02:11. | :02:16.
with people panic by aing, we'll Rupp out of fuel regardless of the | :02:16. | :02:23.
guys being strike. It was the fear of running out that prompted | :02:23. | :02:28.
holiday makers Alan and Lynne to fill up once they had araved in | :02:28. | :02:33.
South Devon. Getting home was their chief concern. It is a worry for | :02:33. | :02:38.
when we go back and to make sure we have enough fuel. I work on Easter | :02:38. | :02:43.
Monday. So we have to get me to work for a couple of days. So the | :02:43. | :02:49.
threat hanging over the easter holidays is gone, but it has been | :02:49. | :02:59.
:02:59. | :03:00. | ||
an unsettling few days. Unsettling and for some stressful. Well for | :03:00. | :03:03.
one man, fears over any shortage of fuel have caused real concern. 59- | :03:03. | :03:06.
year-old Tom Goodison is disabled, but he has a specially adapted car | :03:06. | :03:09.
which he says he completely relies on. The idea of losing his | :03:09. | :03:11.
independence because he has no fuel is proving very stressful. | :03:11. | :03:15.
Spotlight's Andrea Ormsby has been to meet him. Tom had a stroke 14 | :03:15. | :03:19.
years ago. Before that, he was a high-flying television producer. | :03:20. | :03:23.
Adapting to life with disability has been difficult and now he says | :03:23. | :03:30.
his car is a lifeline. I was worried they would take away any | :03:30. | :03:37.
sort of independence that I had. Because I couldn't face queuing for | :03:38. | :03:42.
hours at a petrol station. It was a worry. Today Tom is on a mission. | :03:42. | :03:48.
He doesn't normally take his car to fill up. Now he feels he has no | :03:48. | :03:54.
choice. One problem is I can't fill my car on my own. I need someone | :03:54. | :03:59.
from the garage to do that. What would you like sir? Petrol please. | :03:59. | :04:05.
That was a small concern. I thought if they have a queue waiting, are | :04:05. | :04:09.
they going to be available to help fill up the car? Well that wasn't | :04:09. | :04:14.
too much of a problem. But it has taken the pressure off the next two | :04:14. | :04:19.
or three weeks to know I have a full tank and I can sort my life | :04:19. | :04:27.
out and retain independence, which is very important. Tom says he has | :04:27. | :04:33.
sympathy with drivers, but hopes talking not striking will resolve | :04:34. | :04:43.
:04:44. | :04:44. | ||
their issues over pay. There you go. It has been a few days. But the | :04:44. | :04:49.
clouds seem to have parted. On the fuel front. I'm joined by Claire | :04:49. | :04:53.
from the holiday park. How difficult has it been for you? | :04:53. | :05:01.
has been a bit stressful. We were busy for Easter b we are have some | :05:01. | :05:05.
spaces spare. People are saying they will not come down? No but the | :05:05. | :05:09.
phones were quieter. We are pleased they have picked up again. The sun | :05:09. | :05:12.
is shining, the weather has been fantastic. We're hoping it will | :05:12. | :05:15.
pick up and we are looking forward to a good season. Since this | :05:15. | :05:19.
afternoon when we heard the strike is not going to happen, more | :05:19. | :05:22.
interest? Oh certainly. I think there was a confusion and panic | :05:22. | :05:26.
around the country and it did have an knock on effect to us. The | :05:26. | :05:32.
phones have been pick up now and we are pleased it is such a great | :05:32. | :05:37.
place to come. People will be concerned with getting here and not | :05:37. | :05:43.
being able to get out. Yes, why wouldn't you want to get stuck | :05:43. | :05:47.
here? You have to get home and this a always in people's minds? Yes, | :05:47. | :05:52.
but it is such a relief it is over and we can get over withen joying | :05:53. | :05:58.
Easter. Do you know how many people you are expecting. How has the past | :05:58. | :06:03.
few days affected business? Yes we can take up to 500 families at one | :06:03. | :06:08.
time in Easter. And we have a few last minute backings left. We hope | :06:08. | :06:15.
they will fill. Thank you. From sunny South Devon, fingers crossed | :06:15. | :06:20.
for the next few days. Thank you. If you drive around you'll notice | :06:20. | :06:23.
plenty of fuel tankers still on the roads. The South West has been | :06:23. | :06:26.
suffering the impact of a strike without a single driver walking out. | :06:26. | :06:29.
Why? Well, I'm joined now by our Political Editor Martyn Oates. How | :06:29. | :06:36.
much of this has been caused by the politicians in Westminster? It is | :06:36. | :06:39.
clearly the Government's advice which has caused the panic by aing. | :06:39. | :06:44.
There was also the advice to people to haul -- hoard petrol in jerry | :06:44. | :06:48.
cans, that was condemned as dangerous by the Fire Brigades | :06:48. | :06:52.
Union. Today we have had this story from Yorkshire of the lady wh has | :06:52. | :07:02.
:07:02. | :07:03. | ||
been seriously burned transferring David Petraeus roll. -- trfrg | :07:03. | :07:09.
petrol. And it has been a terrible week, with David Cameron facing a | :07:09. | :07:17.
new problem each day. We haved that granny tax, the pasty tax, now this | :07:17. | :07:21.
business with fuel. Critics, including senior Conservative MPs, | :07:21. | :07:24.
are saying this gives the impression the Government's out of | :07:24. | :07:28.
touch with ordinary people. And if that sticks in the public | :07:28. | :07:34.
perception it could lose the next election. You are going to lack at | :07:34. | :07:40.
another divide on Sunday? Tkwre old debate about building new grammar | :07:40. | :07:44.
schools. Existing schools can build satellites on new sites. But there | :07:44. | :07:49.
is a case in Kent that demonstrated those satellites can be miles away | :07:49. | :07:53.
in a different town and critic say that is a new grammar school by the | :07:53. | :07:58.
back door. A lot of Tories would like to see the full blooded policy | :07:58. | :08:03.
of allowing kpwram ar -- grammar schools restored. David Cameron | :08:03. | :08:08.
says no chance, why? Interestingly enough, he says that kind of policy | :08:08. | :08:15.
would be the thing to make us seem out of touch. Thank you. There's | :08:15. | :08:17.
been a dramatic increase in the electricity produced from | :08:17. | :08:19.
photovoltaic panels in the south west. Figures obtained by Spotlight | :08:19. | :08:22.
show the number of new installations has soared, because | :08:22. | :08:24.
of government incentives. During 2009 in Devon and Cornwall there | :08:24. | :08:28.
were just 130 new installations. By 2010 that had risen to 850, but in | :08:28. | :08:30.
2011 that figure topped 7,500. Our Environment Correspondent, Adrian | :08:30. | :08:40.
:08:40. | :08:49. | ||
Campbell, reports. Another solar panel is being delivered to another | :08:49. | :08:53.
South West home on a sunny day in Exeter. In two years the local | :08:53. | :08:57.
company carrying out work at this house has seen its turnover grow | :08:57. | :09:03.
from 500,000 a year to 8 million. We have had annual growth rates of | :09:03. | :09:08.
around 100% year on year to 2010 when the tariff was introduced. | :09:08. | :09:15.
Since then, we have experienced growth rates of over 300%. Even | :09:15. | :09:19.
after past uncertainties about the Government's incentives for those | :09:20. | :09:23.
fitting solar, many believe this energy is a good investment. It is | :09:23. | :09:29.
a shame we have just missed the larger tariff. But we're expecting | :09:29. | :09:37.
something like a ten year return on this. Something like 7%. Find an | :09:37. | :09:44.
Isa that will give you 7%. uptake has been remarkable, | :09:44. | :09:48.
according to experts. They say prior to 2011 there was enough | :09:48. | :09:56.
capacity to fuel 900 homes. But during 2011 that increased to | :09:56. | :10:04.
around 12,000 oms. -- homes. On roof of this retail outlet, Michael | :10:04. | :10:08.
says solar energy has been good for business. We're not just growing | :10:08. | :10:14.
food, we're growing energy W the recent weather the meter has been | :10:14. | :10:20.
spinning like crazy. How much a month do you get. Between two and | :10:20. | :10:24.
three thousand pounds a month. It is becoming sustainable not just | :10:24. | :10:28.
with food, but with energy as well. And even though the incentives for | :10:28. | :10:34.
general ratesing solar energy have declined, they're still enticing | :10:34. | :10:39.
home owners to make the most of the weather. There's an investigation | :10:39. | :10:41.
into why staff at Devon County Council were sent the wrong | :10:41. | :10:44.
payslips. The authority says it's down to a printing mistake and it's | :10:44. | :10:47.
now reviewing its contract with the firm which supplies them. Staff are | :10:47. | :10:50.
being told to return the payslips to the council. It hasn't affected | :10:50. | :11:00.
:11:00. | :11:04. | ||
salaries being transferred into their bank accounts. Devon County | :11:04. | :11:06.
Council is facing a multi-million pound compensation bill after a | :11:06. | :11:09.
pothole on a rural lane caused a major accident. The High Court | :11:09. | :11:12.
ruled that safety inspections on the road near Honiton had been | :11:12. | :11:15.
inadequate. It follows a car crash in 2006 which left one passenger | :11:15. | :11:17.
with brain damage and another paralysed from the neck down. | :11:17. | :11:21.
People living in Brixham are going to be asked if they're prepared to | :11:21. | :11:23.
pay more council tax to keep open the historic Shoalstone outdoor | :11:23. | :11:26.
swimming pool. It's owned by Torbay Council, but it wants to pass | :11:26. | :11:29.
responsibility to the local Brixham Town Council. A consultation's due | :11:29. | :11:32.
to take place later this year, as it's thought it could cost up to | :11:32. | :11:37.
50,000 a year to run. There's plenty still ahead in the programme | :11:37. | :11:45.
- Dave's been on his travels. me for all the sport, from the | :11:45. | :11:51.
county ground in Taunton. As Somerset try to win that elusive | :11:51. | :11:55.
title. And practising the drill - the brightest minds taking on the | :11:55. | :12:02.
mining games. Dock in bright sunshine, step off the ship and | :12:02. | :12:05.
pick up the baby you haven't seen for months. That's how Easter began | :12:05. | :12:08.
for sailors arriving at Devonport today. The crew of HMS Argyll were | :12:08. | :12:11.
reunited with their loved ones who packed the dockyard. Our reporter, | :12:11. | :12:14.
Andy Breare, watched the Type 23 frigate return from the Middle East | :12:14. | :12:24.
:12:24. | :12:31. | ||
with those crowds. To the sound of the band of the Royal Marines, HMS | :12:31. | :12:36.
Argyll came alongside, back to her home port after six months at sea. | :12:36. | :12:41.
Hundreds of the ship's company's family and friends had turned out | :12:41. | :12:47.
to welcome them home. Well Eliza was four weeks when we went away, | :12:47. | :12:52.
sorry five weeks and she is now seven months. So she is a bit | :12:52. | :12:57.
bigger. Just a little. Been counting since five months and 0 | :12:57. | :13:03.
days, counting down the days since then. He likes to be home. Good to | :13:03. | :13:13.
:13:13. | :13:13. | ||
have him back? Lovely. Me beautiful nephew, I'm so proud of him. | :13:13. | :13:18.
child was born while I was away and she is five months and she is | :13:18. | :13:24.
getting a bit cranky. You have not seen her before? No and she's | :13:24. | :13:29.
beautiful. Argyle has been patrolling shipping lanes in the | :13:29. | :13:33.
middle east, sailing almost 37,000 miles. Today though everyone was | :13:33. | :13:38.
just glad to be home. Absolutely -- absolutely. A home coming like this | :13:39. | :13:44.
in sunshine, to get back home is a wonderful treat which makes all the | :13:44. | :13:49.
hard work of the last six months worth while. The ship will now | :13:49. | :13:54.
undergo a few month of maintenance. And the company have a few weeks | :13:54. | :14:01.
leave to catch up with loved ones and have a well-earned break. And | :14:01. | :14:04.
you can see more interviews with some of the ship's company who | :14:04. | :14:06.
returned home today on our Facebook page. Just go to | :14:06. | :14:14.
facebook.com/bbcspotlight. Giving patients more power has been a key | :14:14. | :14:17.
aim of successive governments and a new website for those suffering | :14:17. | :14:20.
with dementia takes another step in that direction. Together with their | :14:20. | :14:23.
carers, they'll be able to rate the services they receive, as Heidi | :14:23. | :14:33.
:14:33. | :14:34. | ||
Davey reports. Nor mafpb was diagnosed with depltd ya four years | :14:34. | :14:39.
ago. -- Norman was diagnosed with dementia four years ago and he has | :14:39. | :14:42.
been fighting for better recognition for those living with | :14:42. | :14:47.
the condition. He is delighted the Government has pledged over 60 | :14:47. | :14:52.
million. For every 10 that has been spent on the cancer and the | :14:52. | :14:57.
heart foundation. We only got 2. So we're an eighth behind everyone | :14:57. | :15:02.
else. This will make us up there with the big boys. And it will make | :15:02. | :15:08.
such a huge difference. The new NHS web-site is designed to provide a | :15:08. | :15:13.
range of lolt services. And most importantly to Norman, sufferers | :15:13. | :15:19.
and carers with rate the MEP they receive. We will be able to give | :15:19. | :15:23.
feedback, so people running the services will be judged, so that | :15:23. | :15:28.
will be the transparn si David Cameron was talking about. The move | :15:28. | :15:35.
has been wok welcomed by the medical profession. We can grass tp | :15:35. | :15:39.
nettle and in the South West we are one of the lower areas of the UK | :15:40. | :15:42.
for diagnosing rates in dementia. There are many reasons why that | :15:42. | :15:46.
might be the case. But a lot of work has to be done to improve the | :15:46. | :15:50.
rates. That is already being done. But this just one example of that | :15:50. | :15:56.
work. For sufferers like Norman the new service may only be a small | :15:57. | :16:01.
step forward, but it is a significant one. Now, as part of a | :16:01. | :16:03.
BBC campaign highlighting the issue of adult literacy we've been | :16:03. | :16:06.
looking at how people in the South West are learning to overcome | :16:06. | :16:08.
problems with reading and writing. 16-year-old David Haley from | :16:09. | :16:11.
Plymouth left school two years ago with no qualifications. He's found | :16:11. | :16:14.
learning at a community project in the city has helped him get his | :16:15. | :16:23.
life back on track. Ties type of one-to-one learning has helped | :16:24. | :16:26.
David achieve his first qualification. For someone who left | :16:26. | :16:31.
school at 14, this is quite an achievement. When I went to the | :16:31. | :16:39.
secondary, I fell through cracks. I couldn't handle it. I couldn't | :16:39. | :16:44.
handle big groups. I couldn't handle it and just mixed all the | :16:44. | :16:51.
time and I got kicked out. After two years of home schooling, he | :16:51. | :16:56.
came to the Oasis project. People come in and it is that easy step | :16:56. | :17:00.
then to move on and think, I will give that a try and see how that | :17:00. | :17:06.
goes. There are many reasons why people need help, but seeking that | :17:06. | :17:11.
help is often the hardest step. is different, because it is adult | :17:11. | :17:14.
learning, but it is being back in the courtroom classroom, pause you | :17:14. | :17:18.
have been away for so long, it is having the confidence to volunteer | :17:18. | :17:24.
to come in. These adult learners have taken that step. For Vicky it | :17:24. | :17:29.
was a case of wanting to help her daughter with her homework. | :17:29. | :17:34.
would come in with homework and I couldn't do it. So we try to use | :17:34. | :17:38.
first step courses in areas that would interest people, family and | :17:38. | :17:42.
parent learning where people can learn with their kids and get them | :17:42. | :17:45.
engaged and to understand that there are opportunities for them | :17:45. | :17:50.
and then build it from there. have nothing to lose and you need | :17:50. | :17:53.
to make that step and get the confidence to make that step. And | :17:54. | :17:57.
once you have made it you will be glad you did. David's now working | :17:57. | :18:05.
towards a place at college, where he hopes to study carpentry. Time | :18:05. | :18:08.
for the sport now and the new cricket season is less than a week | :18:08. | :18:14.
away so Dave's been to Taunton to join the Somerset players. It has | :18:14. | :18:18.
been another glorious day in the South West, including here in | :18:18. | :18:25.
Taunton at the County Ground. Hopefully that score board will be | :18:25. | :18:28.
ticking over next Thursday when Somerset open the domestic season | :18:28. | :18:33.
in the first division against Middlesex. But first the rest of | :18:33. | :18:39.
sport. The sand is running out of hour glass for Exeter City. They're | :18:39. | :18:44.
eight points adrift in the scramble for League One safety. Their | :18:44. | :18:50.
manager knows anything less than vbgtsry against Colchester will see | :18:50. | :18:53.
the relegation trap door open wider. After back-to-back defeats, yofrl | :18:53. | :19:00.
are looking over their shoulders and go to Bournemouth -- Yeovil. | :19:00. | :19:10.
:19:10. | :19:11. | ||
Only six poins bv danger. -- six points above danger. Carl Fletcher | :19:11. | :19:16.
plots the down fall of Bradford, so Plymouth Argyle can move further | :19:16. | :19:25.
from the bottom two. Rugby and Exeter Chief's goal scorer can | :19:25. | :19:31.
smash the 250 points bearier as they try to beat London Irish. At | :19:31. | :19:38.
Sandy Park he needs only two points to reach the quarter century | :19:38. | :19:43.
landmark. In the Championship, the Cornish Pirates go for a double | :19:43. | :19:48.
over Report ram in South Yorkshire. And Plymouth Albion face London | :19:48. | :19:54.
Scottish on Sunday. Sitting at the top of their relegation group after | :19:54. | :20:02.
beating them last week. The cricket season starts here next Thursday | :20:02. | :20:07.
when Somerset meet the newly- promoted Middlesex in the first | :20:07. | :20:17.
division. Will bit Somerset's year. Let's find out from Marcus | :20:17. | :20:22.
Trescothick. What can we expect? Hopefully we carry on in the same | :20:22. | :20:27.
way. But just try and get that one step further. We have been | :20:27. | :20:32.
consistent and a good performing team. It is up to us to match the | :20:32. | :20:36.
standards. You're on a level with Lancashire, the champions and | :20:36. | :20:40.
everyone else up there, what would make the difference for you to be | :20:40. | :20:45.
the best? If I knew that we probably would have done it. We | :20:45. | :20:50.
have been consistent and we will strive to do the same,, but we hope | :20:50. | :20:53.
the preparation that we have done will give us that advantage that we | :20:53. | :21:01.
need. Peter, this is your sixth season back here. A Somerset boy, | :21:01. | :21:04.
how frustrating is it for Somerset just to keep missing out on | :21:04. | :21:09.
trophies? It is hugely disappointing to put in six months | :21:09. | :21:14.
hard work and come out with a load of second place medals that are | :21:14. | :21:19.
collecting dust in me closet! It wants to be replaced by a gold kun. | :21:20. | :21:26.
It has been -- gold one. But we need to keep bouncing back and I | :21:26. | :21:32.
think I'm maturing as a cibgtser and being getting some -- cricketer | :21:32. | :21:35.
and getting some overseas experience. When the captain tosses | :21:35. | :21:40.
me the ball I have got to do my job and hopefully do I that more times | :21:40. | :21:50.
:21:50. | :21:50. | ||
than I don't. Before I finish here, BBC Radio Devon has full coverage | :21:50. | :22:00.
:22:00. | :22:00. | ||
of Torquay United against Barnett tonight. Fancy a go at hand | :22:00. | :22:03.
steeling or swede sawing? Some of the best and brightest mining | :22:03. | :22:06.
students in the world are in Cornwall this weekend for the 34th | :22:06. | :22:09.
International Mining Games. It's the first time the Games have come | :22:09. | :22:12.
to Cornwall - the event is being hosted by Camborne School of Mines. | :22:12. | :22:20.
Spotlight's Matt Pengelly went along to practice day. These are | :22:20. | :22:24.
the traditional skills of the hard rock miner - drilling, hammering, | :22:24. | :22:29.
hands muck. Moreen that later. 36 teachs have travelled from places | :22:29. | :22:33.
like the United States, Canada and Australia. Where Cornish miners | :22:33. | :22:36.
went to find work when their industry went into decline many | :22:36. | :22:42.
years ago. A lot of people went awrod, -- abroad, because thrfsz | :22:42. | :22:47.
more to be had there. Many would have taught others how Cornwall | :22:47. | :22:52.
mined and how they set it up. So these gays probably have a bit of | :22:52. | :22:57.
heritage coming back. We think this the home of hard rock mining. | :22:57. | :23:02.
get to make contacts with people from here in England and with | :23:02. | :23:07.
people across in Australia as well and we can do good jobs across the | :23:07. | :23:12.
world. Growing up in a small town in America, it was also a small | :23:12. | :23:18.
mining town. A lot of the mystery from the Cornish might be that -- | :23:19. | :23:24.
might be that we have seen is what I grew up with. It shows you how | :23:24. | :23:29.
much mining has progressed. This is hand mucking, when a wagon has to | :23:29. | :23:34.
be pushed down a track and filled with gravel. Before they can | :23:34. | :23:40.
complete in the jack leg drilling, they have to be shown the drill. | :23:40. | :23:44.
have the old rock drills and our laveds are different to what | :23:44. | :23:49.
they're up to in modern mines. A lot they don't use them at all. It | :23:49. | :23:53.
is hands on experience and very physical and I'm sure they will be | :23:53. | :23:59.
exhausted. The team who can master the seven events will be declared | :23:59. | :24:07.
world champions on Sunday. Good world champions on Sunday. Good | :24:07. | :24:10.
luck to them. Now the weather. Mly, have we seen the last of the sun | :24:10. | :24:19.
shy? We have seen the last of the warm sunshine. The weather is | :24:19. | :24:25.
changing. After a warm week its turning cloudy and cooler. On | :24:25. | :24:30.
satellite you can see a lot of clear skies. We have seen more over | :24:30. | :24:33.
the British Isles, but still with this large area of high pressure. | :24:33. | :24:40.
But it has been cragging - edrag -- dragging westwards. By tomorrow | :24:40. | :24:44.
lunchtime a cold front will move down from the north and we will see | :24:44. | :24:50.
much more cloud tomorrow. The high does build in temporarily, so | :24:50. | :24:55.
brighter on Sunday. But cooler as well. It will feel very dirch, | :24:55. | :24:59.
despite still some sunshine. A closer look at the satellite, you | :24:59. | :25:02.
can see we did have a lot of cloud over Devon and Cornwall this | :25:02. | :25:12.
:25:12. | :25:14. | ||
morning. Most of that did disappear. But it was a contrast. This was the | :25:14. | :25:18.
Teen estuary. A bit of haze, the warmest temperatures towards this | :25:18. | :25:24.
part of Devon by this afternoon. But further west, this is St Agnes | :25:24. | :25:29.
Head, where they had cloud for most of the day that, breeze adding to | :25:29. | :25:33.
the cool conditions. And despite seeing the cloud, ten Celsius was | :25:33. | :25:37.
the top temperature there. And during tonight we will all see much | :25:37. | :25:41.
more cloud. It us moving down from the north and west. Still some | :25:42. | :25:46.
clear skies to the south and east. Here the coolest temperature, down | :25:46. | :25:51.
to around three Celsius. But where we have more cloud, six to eight | :25:51. | :25:57.
Celsius. Tomorrow morning, a chance of some brightness at times, but we | :25:57. | :26:02.
will all see more cloud. This cloud perhaps thick enough for some | :26:02. | :26:08.
drizzle over the moors. Sunshine quite limited. Still some of the | :26:08. | :26:13.
warmth that we have had. 16 Celsius is the maximum. But I will feel | :26:13. | :26:18.
different with that cloud around. For the isles of silly it is mainly | :26:18. | :26:26.
cloud with the Rix of drizzle. -- risk of drizzle. The times of high | :26:27. | :26:35.
water tomorrow. The coastal waters forecast, the winds from the north | :26:35. | :26:41.
do veer more easterly later. Mainly fair with occasional drizzle. For | :26:41. | :26:46.
the surfers the swell pick up a bits for the north kest. But | :26:46. | :26:52.
generally messy and flat. So at the outlook for the weekend, it will be | :26:52. | :26:58.
bright on Sunday as the cloud will break up. But it is a cold night on | :26:58. | :27:03.
Saturday with a risk of rural areas seeing a touch of frost A chilly | :27:03. | :27:06.
start on Sunday. But a brighter start. Despite the sunshine, after | :27:06. | :27:11.
the warm temperatures this week, it will feel cooler and a maximum on | :27:11. | :27:17.
Sunday of 12 Celsius, contrast to 22 earlier in the week. For Monday, | :27:17. | :27:20.
we will still keep the cool conditions and some cloud too. On | :27:20. | :27:26. |
