Good evening. The Mayor of Dxmouth and his partner have become one of

the first gay couples in thd South West to get married following a

change in the law. The cerelony took place at Exmouth Town Hall, where a

rainbow flag was hoisted in honour of the occasion. Our reportdr Chloe

Axford was there. For Exmouth Mayor John Humphreys and

his long`term partner David Marsden, this was both a personal and a

political occasion. Good morning. Just after 12:30pm today, they

emerged from their wedding ceremony at Exmouth Town Hall a marrhed

couple at last. Absolutely wonderful. It feels terrific. We've

been together for 20 years `nd it's wonderful that now we have become

one within law. Hundreds of family and friends have travelled from

across the world to see Davhd and John tie the knot. They are one of

the very first gay and lesbhan couples in England to get m`rried

after the law changed at midnight. It just seals it and we can be

honest with our friends and society that we are now legally married and

that is a wonderful feeling. It feels like there has been a change

in law, but there is a change in society as well. Not everyone is

celebrating the change in the law. A BBC poll out earlier this wdek found

that one in five people would not attend a gay wedding if thex were

invited to one. Gay couples are still not allowed to get married in

a church, and gay members of the Anglican clergy are still not

allowed to get married, but the Church of England has said ht will

stand by the new law. But for John and David, politics aside, this was

a moment to treasure and enjoy, just like any other newlyweds.

Farmers in the South West h`ve hit out at a Government campaign which

is urging people to cut down on the amount of full`fat cheese and milk

in their diet. The Change4Lhfe initiative recommends consulers

switch to products which have less saturated fat. But farmers claim

this could damage an industry that has already been badly affected by

flooding. Farmers don't need any more burdens

to carry after the flooding and everything else. We would lhke a

government who is really getting behind us and saying accurate

information rather than this old news.

tomorrow morning at 11:15am. It is the end of an era for air

travel in Guernsey and Jersdy today, as Flybe's Gatwick flights dnd. The

airline is closing its base in the island with the loss of mord than 30

jobs. Flybe has sold all its Gatwick slots, blaming rising chargds at the

London airport. EasyJet will offer three flights a day when it takes

over on the route tomorrow. Onto sport, and in rugby, Championship

honours in today's local derby went to Cornwall, as the Cornish Pirates

beat Plymouth Albion 26`20 `t the Brickfields. Albion went into the

match having lost four of their last six games and with a dismal record

against their visitors. Despite making eight changes, Piratds ran in

three tries to Albion's two. It was a great crowd and we really enjoyed

playing in front of it. I fdel like it had a bit of a derby gamd to it.

It was coming and going, coling and going, but thankfully we got the

result in the end. Elsewherd in the Premiership, Exeter Chiefs lost

14`13 at home to Gloucester, and in the Championship, Jersey lost 3 `8

at home to eighth`placed Moseley. In today's football, in the

Championship Yeovil dropped to the bottom of the table after losing 4`1

at home to fellow strugglers Barnsley. In League Two, Exdter City

lost 1`0 at home to Accrington Stanley and bottom`placed Torquay

lost 1`0 at eighth`placed Southend United. Onto the weather ` here s
