Experts are warning we could see more incidents

of devastating flooding like that at Boscastle in Cornwall.

It's ten years ago today since the intense rainfall led to

five major incidents being declared and seven helicopters involved

Researchers at the Met Office in Exeter have been studying

the changing patterns of weather and say more events

The signals that we?re showing here are quite consistent with what we

would expect to apply across the UK, for these summer downpours

associated with intense flash flooding to be more frequent

Along with that, we expect winter rainfall to be a become heavy as

well and that is something that has been seen for quite some time now in

the climate models and we have quite good confidence in that result.

A large number of people living in the South West are still failing

to protect themselves against skin cancer.

A survey by a pharmaceutical firm claims

nearly half the people surveyed in Devon ignore signs of sun damage

A new campaign's now started to warn gardeners of the potential dangers.

This man and his wife know how dangerous the sun can be. He

developed a sort that would not heal and it's turned into skin cancer. It

is devastating. One doctor said that it was not life`threatening, but I

started to think, how much surgery can you go through? A garden centre

made peace `` seem a strange venue, but gardeners are at risk. A study

of more than 200 people found more than 90% spent time gardening, less

than half factor 30 sun cream. The campaign helps people identify when

they have a problem. Not all skin cancers look the same. With skin

cancer, it is about four times the national average year, we have more

UV light and the rest of the country. We have a great opportunity

to get outdoors. A lot of people who work here have outdoor lifestyles.

All they have lifestyles where they like to go outside when they are not

working and all of those are accumulating risk factors. This

camera takes photos to show how much sun individual skin has. The

organisers hope it will help educate people about the dangers of sunburn.

It is important to educate young people. If we can educate at a young

age, we can hopefully stop instances in the years to come. If you want to

The Devon athlete Jo Pavey has failed to make it a double gold

in the 5,000 metres at the European Championships in Zurich.

She finished seventh in the event this afternoon.

The 40`year`old became the oldest ever female winner at

the competition when she took gold in the 10,000 metres on Tuesday.
