It looks like our weather will be | 0:00:02 | 0:00:04
warming up again next week and turning | 0:00:04 | 0:00:05
briefly hotter for some of us before thunderstorms arrive | 0:00:05 | 0:00:09
and then next weekend it's looking unsettled once again. | 0:00:09 | 0:00:12
All on that coming up in the next three and a half minutes | 0:00:12 | 0:00:14
but I'll start with the next five minutes of weather in detail | 0:00:14 | 0:00:17
and this is how Sunday is shaping up. | 0:00:17 | 0:00:19
Brighter, fresher weather heading East as the day goes on after | 0:00:19 | 0:00:23
a cloudy and damp start. | 0:00:23 | 0:00:24
But there are still showers around. | 0:00:24 | 0:00:26
Not so much for Southwest England and Wales, | 0:00:26 | 0:00:29
the afternoon here is looking mainly dry. | 0:00:29 | 0:00:31
Broken clouds, sunny spells, feeling a bit fresher than it has done. | 0:00:31 | 0:00:34
Much of Northwest England will be dry too. | 0:00:34 | 0:00:36
Though if you venture into the Pennines you could encounter | 0:00:36 | 0:00:39
a heavy shower. | 0:00:39 | 0:00:40
For Northern Ireland you may catch a light shower here and there | 0:00:40 | 0:00:43
but most dry. | 0:00:43 | 0:00:44
Some of us in Western and Northern Scotland will start damp | 0:00:44 | 0:00:47
and drizzly but the afternoon is fine. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:49
As it will be across the bulk of Scotland. | 0:00:49 | 0:00:51
and Southeast you may still catch a shower into the afternoon. | 0:00:51 | 0:00:55
The bulk of those showers will be scattered across Central | 0:00:55 | 0:00:59
So although it will start to brighten up in the afternoon, | 0:00:59 | 0:01:02
you may catch a heavy and possibly thundery downpour. | 0:01:02 | 0:01:04
By no means everybody will. | 0:01:04 | 0:01:09
and by the end of the day it will feel less humid too. | 0:01:09 | 0:01:12
The showers fade away into the evening. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:14
Then during Sunday night plenty of clear weather around | 0:01:14 | 0:01:17
for star gazing or looking at the super moon. | 0:01:17 | 0:01:20
And it will be cooler too | 0:01:20 | 0:01:21
so temperatures for some will dip down into single figures. | 0:01:21 | 0:01:25
Feeling much fresher out and about on Monday morning. | 0:01:25 | 0:01:28
On Monday we start with a little ridge of high pressure. | 0:01:28 | 0:01:31
It's not going to last long as this area of low pressure | 0:01:31 | 0:01:34
comes in from the Atlantic and brings its weather fronts with cloud | 0:01:34 | 0:01:37
and some outbreaks of rain. | 0:01:37 | 0:01:38
It's in the West the weather will go downhill first. | 0:01:38 | 0:01:42
Eventually late in the day, | 0:01:42 | 0:01:46
start to see some of teat rain reaching the Eastern side. | 0:01:46 | 0:01:49
Some warmth particularly across Central | 0:01:49 | 0:01:51
and Eastern areas with temperatures well into the 20s. | 0:01:51 | 0:01:53
Most though around 18-21. | 0:01:53 | 0:01:55
This frontal system will complete its journey South-eastwards | 0:01:56 | 0:01:59
across the UK as we go through Monday night and into Tuesday. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:03
Early on Tuesday there will be some cloud | 0:02:03 | 0:02:06
and outbreaks of rain in the East. | 0:02:06 | 0:02:08
But that should push away and brighter skies will follow | 0:02:08 | 0:02:10
so for much of the UK on Tuesday it's sunny spells. | 0:02:10 | 0:02:13
The odd shower around and when the sun's out it will feel | 0:02:13 | 0:02:16
pleasantly warm. | 0:02:16 | 0:02:17
But some hotter weather coming in from midweek. Here's why. | 0:02:17 | 0:02:20
High pressure building in. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:22
Low pressure still bringing some rain at times to Northern Ireland | 0:02:22 | 0:02:25
and Western Scotland on Wednesday and Thursday for that matter. | 0:02:25 | 0:02:27
But elsewhere with the flow of air turning to one from Iberia, we're | 0:02:27 | 0:02:32
going to lift those temperatures into the mid to upper 20s. | 0:02:32 | 0:02:35
Particularly across Southern and Eastern parts of England. | 0:02:35 | 0:02:39
On Thursday that weather system is still producing some rain | 0:02:39 | 0:02:41
threatening Northern Ireland and Western Scotland. | 0:02:41 | 0:02:44
Elsewhere under the influence of high pressure temperatures will get | 0:02:44 | 0:02:47
even higher. | 0:02:47 | 0:02:48
It's possible somewhere on Thursday could see 30C. | 0:02:48 | 0:02:51
A late day thunderstorm is possible | 0:02:51 | 0:02:53
but more in the way of thundery rain comes in for Friday. | 0:02:53 | 0:02:57
And as we look further ahead for the trend | 0:02:57 | 0:02:59
from the 18th to the 22nd of July it looks like we'll look to the | 0:02:59 | 0:03:03
Atlantic again for our weather as it turns more unsettled. | 0:03:03 | 0:03:06
Low pressure affecting the Northwest of the UK | 0:03:06 | 0:03:09
but I think everywhere will see showers or spells of rain at times. | 0:03:09 | 0:03:12
But also some drier, | 0:03:12 | 0:03:13
brighter weather when it will still feel pleasantly warm. | 0:03:13 | 0:03:16
Next week ends with thunderstorms. | 0:03:16 | 0:03:18
Into next weekend the heat subsiding as it turns more unsettled | 0:03:18 | 0:03:22
once again. | 0:03:22 | 0:03:23
That's the latest look at the weather 10 days into the future. | 0:03:23 | 0:03:27
As ever, we'll keep you updated with the here and now online. Bye-bye. | 0:03:27 | 0:03:30 |
