Hello there. It's that time where we take a look

0:00:030:00:05

at the next five day's worth of weather.

0:00:050:00:07

Then we go a bit beyond that and have a peak at the 6 to 10 day

0:00:070:00:10

period to see what the general trends are in the longer term outlook.

0:00:100:00:13

Short term, a chilly start to the day in the North

0:00:130:00:15

and the West of the UK with a few patches of mist and fog.

0:00:150:00:18

The mist and fog should disappear quite readily

0:00:180:00:21

and then we're looking at a pretty decent day across the board.

0:00:210:00:23

There will be some thicker cloud to the far North of Scotland.

0:00:230:00:26

Maybe a spot of rain up towards Shetland,

0:00:260:00:28

but that will be about it in terms of rainfall.

0:00:280:00:30

Across Scotland, a bit more

0:00:300:00:31

in the way of sunshine than what we saw on Tuesday,

0:00:310:00:33

so temperatures should be higher -

0:00:330:00:34

20 degrees in Glasgow - very pleasant.

0:00:340:00:36

We're into the low 20s across Northern England.

0:00:360:00:38

There will be a bit more cloud across Eastern England compared with

0:00:380:00:41

Tuesday, but even with that cloud, it's a

0:00:410:00:44

dry story and the clouds should break-up in places, so we'll

0:00:440:00:46

see some bright or sunny spells and about 20 degrees in London.

0:00:460:00:49

Bit of a breeze on the South coast

0:00:490:00:51

and that will be quite noticeable, particularly in Cornwall.

0:00:510:00:54

But apart from that, it's a lovely afternoon -

0:00:540:00:56

19/20 degrees with some sunshine.

0:00:560:00:58

Tainted somewhat by the breeze, but a decent afternoon.

0:00:580:01:01

Into Wales, the wind is that bit lighter, 20/21 degrees,

0:01:010:01:04

patchy cloud, plenty of sunshine.

0:01:040:01:06

A very nice afternoon here,

0:01:060:01:07

and patchy cloud and some sunny spells in Northern Ireland.

0:01:070:01:11

As we go through the evening, it's a fine and dry look to things.

0:01:110:01:13

A lot of that cloud in the East will tend to melt away.

0:01:130:01:15

Then it turns chilly again in some rural spots

0:01:150:01:18

and a good signal for fog in Northern Ireland

0:01:180:01:20

and Southern Scotland by dawn on Thursday.

0:01:200:01:23

Rural spots will be into single figures.

0:01:230:01:25

Thursday looks like another pretty decent day,

0:01:250:01:28

still dominated by high pressure.

0:01:280:01:29

It's keeping the weather fronts well to the North and West of us.

0:01:290:01:32

This deep low to the South and West of the UK, well,

0:01:320:01:34

that too kept at bay by the strength of the high across our shores.

0:01:340:01:38

So a decent day on Thursday.

0:01:380:01:40

A bit chilly to the North and the West first thing, and we will

0:01:400:01:43

see a bit of cloud drifting in from the North sea but it should stay dry.

0:01:430:01:46

The best of the sunny spells the further North and West you go

0:01:460:01:49

and it will be quite warm.

0:01:490:01:51

Belfast up to 20 degrees, another 20 degree day in Glasgow, and in

0:01:510:01:54

spite of the extra cloud in London, we are up to 20 Celsius once again.

0:01:540:01:58

Towards the end of the week, the high is still a dominant force -

0:01:580:02:01

it keeps those weather fronts out into the Atlantic

0:02:010:02:03

and it keeps that low way to the South of us.

0:02:030:02:05

Notice that low is just slowly creeping its way towards us

0:02:050:02:08

and it might become a player early next week.

0:02:080:02:11

But to end this week, it's fine

0:02:110:02:13

and dry once again across the United Kingdom.

0:02:130:02:15

A fair bit of cloud around,

0:02:150:02:17

but I think the cloud will be breaking in places.

0:02:170:02:19

There's some bright or sunny spells, and again,

0:02:190:02:21

quite warm - 21/22 degrees in London.

0:02:210:02:23

Then, into the start of the weekend.

0:02:230:02:25

The high pressure is still dominating things across the UK,

0:02:250:02:28

but notice that low is getting ever closer.

0:02:280:02:31

I suspect it's not going to be much of a player through the weekend.

0:02:310:02:34

We're looking at another decent day on Saturday.

0:02:340:02:36

A fair bit of cloud for some central and Eastern areas, the best

0:02:360:02:39

of the sunny spells again the further North and West you go,

0:02:390:02:41

but we're into the low 20s so quite warm.

0:02:410:02:44

Second part of the weekend,

0:02:440:02:45

the high is slowly drifting away towards the North.

0:02:450:02:48

The winds are picking up in the South, but that area of low

0:02:480:02:50

pressure stays out towards the South and the West, so a decent day

0:02:500:02:53

on Sunday. Again, a fair bit of cloud around but it should break in places,

0:02:530:02:56

so some bright or sunny spells coming through.

0:02:560:02:58

Those temperatures doing quite well - 17 or so in Glasgow,

0:02:580:03:01

19 to 21 in London.

0:03:010:03:04

And now into the 6 - 10 day period.

0:03:040:03:06

Monday the 15th looks like a pretty decent day,

0:03:060:03:08

but from Tuesday through Wednesday and on to Thursday,

0:03:080:03:11

that's when we see the high really retreating, pressure beginning to

0:03:110:03:14

fall and things turning that bit more unsettled.

0:03:140:03:16

So there's the high, drifting off towards Scandinavia.

0:03:160:03:19

It does allow that low to get ever closer.

0:03:190:03:21

It's a slow transition through Tuesday into Thursday.

0:03:210:03:25

Most of the models do agree that this low will eventually move its way

0:03:250:03:28

in to bring increasingly unsettled weather.
