I'm Ayshah with your Newsround update.

Could these fish mend a broken heart?

Find out how this Lego catastrophe happened.

First this morning, days of heavy rain have lead to severe flooding

across large parts of Western Europe.

Rivers burst their banks in France, Germany and Austria.

Five people have lost their lives.

Rescue services have been working around the clock

to keep people safe.

Thousands of people who left their homes because of a huge

wildfire in Canada are beginning to return home.

The city of Fort McMurray is reopening and firefighters

greeted cars on bridges with Canadian flags.

Officials now say it is safe for people to come back,

but some areas are still off-limits.

Extra police and firefighters are on hand to help

in the first couple of days.

Now to the telescopes mapping out the furthest reaches of space

and the kids who live near them.

Jodrell Bank in the UK and Carnarvon in South Africa have

something that unites them - giant radio telescopes

studying the skies.

So we decided to introduce kids from these areas to each other to

talk about what they have in common.

Take a look at this.

This is where these kids go to school.

And this is where these guys go to school.

ALL: CARNARVON!

Different countries, thousands of miles apart with one

big thing in common - they both have massive

telescopes on their doorsteps.

Today, we are bringing them together so that they can find

out what their lives have in common.

So, we are about to talk.

That's very exciting.

How excited are you guys to speak to the UK?

ALL: Hi, UK!

Will you be able to visit the SKA?

My trip was very lovely to the SKA.

It was nice.

We learnt much about the SKA.

So, they learnt loads.

They took loads of fun pictures and stuff, as well.

It was lovely.

I would like to ask you a question.

What would you like the telescopes to find?

Stuff that we didn't know existed.

Gravity waves.

We would like to find movement in space.

Another planet like Earth.

So, that's what these guys want the telescope to find.

I would really like the telescopes to find out if there is really life

on Mars because they have already found out that there

is water and the gravity is also similar to Earth's.

We have had a great time chatting to you lot from South Africa.

It has been brilliant, but we have no more time left,

Tennis now and Andy Murray has reached the semi-finals

of the French Open.

He stormed back to form in the second set of a tense match

to beat home favourite Richard Gasquet.

Britain's number one will face Stan Wawrinka

of Switzerland on Friday.

Murray has now won his last ten matches, having won

the Italian Open last month and is through to his fourth

French Open and 19th Grand Slam semi-final.

Next, it's all change for the fiver in England.

The five pound note, which for the last 100 years has

been made out of cotton paper, will now be made out of plastic.

The Bank of England, of who make the notes,

has revealed the new design today, but it won't be in use

until 13th September.

Next, to the fish who could mend a broken heart.

These little guys are known as zebrafish and scientists have found

that they can mend their own hearts.

The hope is that if doctors can work out how they do this it could help

many people who have heart problems.

Imagine suffering this Lego brick disaster!

This giant figure of a fox called Nick from the film Zootopia

was smashed to pieces by a four-year-old Chinese boy only

hours after going on display.

It took three days and nights to build.

The creator said he would not be accepting any compensation

as the young boy had not done it on purpose.
