Ayshah here with news of the female racing driver looking

:00:00.:00:00.

Plus - Proof that lightning can strike twice...

:00:00.:00:09.

Two top celebrities have told Newsround that all kids should have

:00:10.:00:20.

chance to succeed regardless of the colour of their skin.

:00:21.:00:23.

All this week on Newsround we're the looking at aspirations -

:00:24.:00:25.

the goals and dreams we have for the future.

:00:26.:00:28.

Our Newsround survey showed one in five black children feel that

:00:29.:00:30.

their skin colour could have a negative effect when it comes to

:00:31.:00:33.

So I went to discuss this with two talented and successful people who

:00:34.:00:41.

didn't let anything stand in the way of them achieving their ambitions -

:00:42.:00:44.

singer Alesha Dixon and former England footballer Sol Campbell.

:00:45.:00:50.

Alesha Dixon has made her mark, first in music, then as a judge

:00:51.:00:53.

Now you'll probably know her from Britain's Got talent

:00:54.:01:00.

And this is Sol Campbell, the former Tottenham,

:01:01.:01:06.

They're both from black backgrounds, both very well-known,

:01:07.:01:11.

and both say they worked hard to get where they are today.

:01:12.:01:16.

In our Newsround survey, two of the more popular job choices

:01:17.:01:19.

Black boys wanted to be footballers more than any other ethnic group.

:01:20.:01:27.

Sol Campbell says that there are loads of successful black

:01:28.:01:30.

footballers and in football your background doesn't come into it.

:01:31.:01:34.

If you're a black footballer growing up and you're aspiring to play

:01:35.:01:37.

for the first team of your club, the beautiful thing about sport is

:01:38.:01:42.

Alesha Dixon started her career in the music industry before becoming

:01:43.:01:50.

But being well known can have a down side,

:01:51.:01:56.

and Alesha feels she was treated unfairly by some people in the media

:01:57.:01:59.

I think being a woman of colour made me a very easy target

:02:00.:02:05.

But I knew that by staying true to who I am, knowing

:02:06.:02:10.

that I can do the job, keeping my head up, being a positive person,

:02:11.:02:13.

Alesha and Sol say things need to change.

:02:14.:02:20.

I want people to be sitting at home, watching television

:02:21.:02:24.

I think it is very important to look at the United Kingdom

:02:25.:02:29.

as multicultural and make sure that across all forms of media that we

:02:30.:02:32.

You want to feel like you're part of this country and sometimes

:02:33.:02:37.

I think the more we talk about it in a positive way and honest way,

:02:38.:02:45.

I think people will start to slowly see and believe that it will change

:02:46.:02:49.

And having heard about the results from the survey,

:02:50.:02:59.

Alesha and Sol say they want children from all backgrounds to

:03:00.:03:02.

feel confident they have role models to look up to and the opportunities

:03:03.:03:05.

In other news - a top European court has ruled to

:03:06.:03:11.

keep a ban on women wearing veils over their faces in France.

:03:12.:03:14.

A Muslim woman had complained that the law went

:03:15.:03:16.

against her right to practice her religion

:03:17.:03:17.

but the European Court of Human Rights disagreed.

:03:18.:03:21.

It's been illegal to wear full face veils like the niqab in public

:03:22.:03:24.

There a no rules against it in the UK.

:03:25.:03:32.

There's more about the niqab

:03:33.:03:33.

and other head coverings on the Newsround website.

:03:34.:03:38.

Tens of thousands people in the south-east Asian city of

:03:39.:03:41.

Hong Kong have staged a huge demonstration, demanding freedom to

:03:42.:03:43.

They're unhappy that China want the final say over who can run

:03:44.:03:57.

Andy Murray continues his quest to hold on to his Wimbledon title this

:03:58.:04:10.

But he shouldn't rest too easily, given two shock exits - former

:04:11.:04:14.

champion Maria Sharapova has gone out to this woman, Angelique Kerber.

:04:15.:04:16.

And world number one Rafael Nadal was beaten by world number 144

:04:17.:04:19.

He played this, what's been described as "shot of the year",

:04:20.:04:23.

There were just so many emotions, I didn't know whether to drop to

:04:24.:04:31.

I turned to everyone who's been supporting me my whole life,

:04:32.:04:37.

who have sacrificed so much to get me to where I am now.

:04:38.:04:45.

Argentina will play Belgium in the World Cup quarterfinals

:04:46.:04:47.
