Good morning, I'm Jenny with all the top stories today. | :00:09. | :00:11.
The dinosaur footprints found on the Isle of Skye. | :00:12. | :00:13.
And could cat videos online make a purrfect film? | :00:14. | :00:29.
Over 100 fossilised dinosaur footprints have been found | :00:30. | :00:38.
on the Isle of Skye, off the west coast of Scotland. | :00:39. | :00:41.
They are from the largest dinosaurs that ever lived, | :00:42. | :00:43.
The sauropods lived at what was the biggest dinosaur site in Scotland. | :00:44. | :00:48.
The BBC's Victoria Gill, went to the site for Newsround. | :00:49. | :00:52.
Legend has it that Matic landscape on the Isle of Skye in Scotland was | :00:53. | :01:00.
shaped by giants. This windswept Bay has been hiding evidence of some | :01:01. | :01:10.
real beasts. Palaeontologists were looking for dinosaur bones. But they | :01:11. | :01:15.
realised they had found something more significant. At the end of the | :01:16. | :01:30.
day, as the light hit the surface at the right angle, it clicked that | :01:31. | :01:35.
something was odd. We have seen this before. We realised that these were | :01:36. | :01:39.
dinosaur footprints. Is this a footprints? It is. There is 1 here, | :01:40. | :01:47.
then there are about 7 or 8 right here. The researchers stumbled | :01:48. | :01:56.
across the biggest dinosaur site in Scotland. Tracks made in sand by the | :01:57. | :02:05.
enormous sauropods. Sandy prints were eventually preserved as fossils | :02:06. | :02:09.
in these rocks. We always want to find dinosaur | :02:10. | :02:15.
bones, but sometimes people But in many ways footprints | :02:16. | :02:18.
are more valuable. Records of dinosaurs moving | :02:19. | :02:20.
around right here. So we can tell a lot about how | :02:21. | :02:22.
big they were and how they moved. The team will continue to work here | :02:23. | :02:31.
on what they call Scotland's Jurassic Island. Be fully expect | :02:32. | :02:37.
these rocks to reveal more dinosaur secrets. | :02:38. | :02:45.
Next, it is a really important day in Parliament today, as MPs decide | :02:46. | :02:48.
if the UK should be involved in any future military action in Syria. | :02:49. | :02:51.
The group called IS has plotted attacks all over the world, | :02:52. | :02:55.
most recently in the French capital Paris. | :02:56. | :02:57.
British warplanes were already bombing the group in Iraq, | :02:58. | :02:59.
but David Cameron wants Britain to join France, Russia and America to | :03:00. | :03:02.
start bombing them in the country next door, Syria, as well. | :03:03. | :03:05.
But the Prime Minister wants to get permission from Parliament first. | :03:06. | :03:07.
So politicians will spend the whole day debating this and then | :03:08. | :03:10.
around 10pm at night, they will have a vote about whether or not to | :03:11. | :03:14.
Now, the people who are in favour of bombing very specific areas | :03:15. | :03:20.
of Syria say that we have to make life as difficult as possible | :03:21. | :03:23.
for IS, so they don't carry out any more attacks. | :03:24. | :03:26.
And also to help the people who live in the areas they control. | :03:27. | :03:30.
But there are quite a few people who think it is | :03:31. | :03:32.
a really bad idea, who think that this could make the situation worse | :03:33. | :03:38.
or Britain won't really help, this might even make IS | :03:39. | :03:41.
want to carry out even more violence. | :03:42. | :03:45.
Whatever happens, it is going to be a very big day, very dramatic here | :03:46. | :03:49.
at Parliament, a lot of people watching what the final vote is. | :03:50. | :03:52.
And if politicians do vote to go ahead, then British planes could be | :03:53. | :03:55.
And you can read more about what's happening in Syria, | :03:56. | :03:59.
Now, could cats be the new stars of cinema? | :04:00. | :04:05.
Videos of them are really popular online, and now people are asking | :04:06. | :04:08.
if they could pull in big numbers at the cinema. | :04:09. | :04:11.
Colin Paterson's finding out if it could be the purrfect film. | :04:12. | :04:16.
# We are going to have a cat party, so bring your cat... | :04:17. | :04:24.
Thousands in a field watching cat videos. | :04:25. | :04:26.
It was nice to know that I'm not the only weirdo who sits on the | :04:27. | :04:30.
In Minneapolis, there is now an annual | :04:31. | :04:34.
You look around, there's all these good-natured | :04:35. | :04:40.
people who are coming together to do something unbelievably ridiculous. | :04:41. | :04:49.
And it could become common in Britain. | :04:50. | :04:52.
There have already been dedicated events in both Deptford and Glasgow. | :04:53. | :05:06.
Not everyone is convinced these antics really belong | :05:07. | :05:08.
My reservations are about why people would come out for something that is | :05:09. | :05:12.
Cat videos are really important and play a great role in cheering people | :05:13. | :05:17.
up and making people laugh, and that's fantastic, but whether that | :05:18. | :05:19.
translates to handing money over and paying for a ticket and watching it | :05:20. | :05:22.
again in a cinema is a different matter. | :05:23. | :05:24.
But with millions watching online every day | :05:25. | :05:26.
and some internet cats already having set own agents, it could be | :05:27. | :05:29.
the likes of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp who will struggle for | :05:30. | :05:32.
It's the second of December, so that means another piece of chocolate | :05:33. | :05:36.
from your advent calendar. Newsround is making one too, and we want to | :05:37. | :05:39.
find out about your Christmas traditions. | :05:40. | :05:40.
Hello. My Christmas tradition is instead of going to the shop and | :05:41. | :05:47.
buying a Christmas tree, we have on the garden which we dig up every | :05:48. | :05:55.
year and decorate instead. Send in your videos to our website. We're | :05:56. | :06:00.
back at 4:20 PM. | :06:01. | :06:02. |
