First to the children who have left Syria to get away from the war

World leaders are meeting in London today to try to do more for children

More than 4 million people, over half of them children, have had to

leave their homes and everything they owned to escape the war in

Syria. Many families run two countries nearby like Lebanon and

Jordan where they live in special camps, but these camps do not have

enough school places for all the children living there to many miss

out on an education. In Lebanon, 138 thousand children out of 338

thousand children do not go to school. In Jordan, 77,000 are out of

school. Syrian children in countries like Iraq and Turkey are also

affected. Ahmed is 13 years old and from Syria. He left his home in

2014, leaving his belongings behind. He is lucky he now has a school

place. TRANSLATION: This year I went to school, I am glad I go to school.

My first day we played in the playground, went to class and

started studying. I did not like that the books were in English. UK

Government has given money to children like Ahmed to go back to

school and as promised to take 20,000 refugees from refugee camps

over the next four years, but many campaigners, charities and

politicians say Great Britain should do more, both for the children

inside camps and for those who have made the journey to Europe. For some

lucky children in the camps, there's a chance to learn. Serio, 12, left

four years ago and is in Lebanon now. TRANSLATION: I felt shy at

first and it took a month to make friends. That is a long time. I'm

having my headteacher enrolled me in the school and I can now continue my

education. I am very happy because I have made friends at school and

outside school, and I have a lot of fun. If you want to know more about

Well, a new BBC documentary's been looking into their best

using special cameras to investigate how they communicate,

their energy and how clever they are.

Dogs because you can play with them and they are more fun. Dogs, you can

take them on walks but can stay inside. Cats because they are cute

and sometimes friendly! I like dogs because you can take them out to the

park and play with them Tom but I don't really like cats because they

weren't going outside and play with you. Cats are peaceful and a pair

and you can give them a trouble and they go off and do what they want.

If you are blind, dogs can blind -- guide you, and cats cannot.

because when cats stand on you their claws dig in your leg.
