Hey, everyone, I'm Martin with your Saturday lunchtime Newsround. Coming

:00:00.:00:08.

up... The Voice coach Ricky Wilson answers

:00:09.:00:12.

your questions. And how to replace Sir Bruce? You've been telling us

:00:13.:00:16.

who you think should be the new Strictly presenter.

:00:17.:00:22.

First, it's a historic day in Afghanistan where people are voting

:00:23.:00:26.

for a new president. It's the first time a transfer of power is being

:00:27.:00:30.

decided by an election there. There's really tight security, with

:00:31.:00:32.

400,000 police officers and soldiers on duty. The Taliban, a group who

:00:33.:00:38.

were overthrown from power over a decade ago, have said they'll try to

:00:39.:00:42.

disrupt the vote. And for many women there, this is the first time

:00:43.:00:51.

they'll be able to have their say. We have coming to the polling

:00:52.:00:55.

station and this is where the voting happens. Men and women vote

:00:56.:01:01.

separately. For many when it is the first time they have been able to

:01:02.:01:04.

abort. They come in to get their identity checked and then their

:01:05.:01:11.

finger is get in indelible ink. They then get a ballot paper and they

:01:12.:01:17.

have eight people to choose from to become the new president. They then

:01:18.:01:24.

going to one of these births. -- one of these boosted make their boat.

:01:25.:01:32.

This is the first time they are transcending power from one leader

:01:33.:01:39.

to another leader democratically. There is an enormous sense of

:01:40.:01:45.

resilience here. People here at extremely proud to have cast their

:01:46.:01:50.

vote. If you want to know more about what life is like in Afghanistan, a

:01:51.:01:54.

reminder that earlier this year Nel travelled back to where she was

:01:55.:01:57.

born, for a Newsround Special. The kids living there told her what they

:01:58.:02:01.

think the future holds for their home. You can watch the full

:02:02.:02:04.

programme on the Newsround website. Back here, one of the world's most

:02:05.:02:07.

famous horse races, the Grand National, takes place later today.

:02:08.:02:10.

Up to 40 racehorses will be competing along the tough

:02:11.:02:14.

four-and-a-half mile course. There are 30 fences to jump over. It's

:02:15.:02:19.

been criticised in the past for being too dangerous, after some

:02:20.:02:21.

horses died. But officials are hoping recent safety changes will

:02:22.:02:24.

help ensure all runners and riders finish safely, as they did last

:02:25.:02:28.

year. Sport now, and in the next hour,

:02:29.:02:32.

Steph Houghton will captain England's women as they kick off

:02:33.:02:34.

their 2015 Football World Cup qualifying campaign against

:02:35.:02:39.

Montenegro. It'll be their first competitive match under new manager

:02:40.:02:42.

Mark Sampson. Here's what some of the players think of their new boss.

:02:43.:02:51.

It is exciting. Mark has brought new ideas. He has brought a lot of

:02:52.:02:58.

energy as well. The girls are being really positive and dying in two

:02:59.:03:05.

things he is saying. To be honest, I really like him and his energy. I

:03:06.:03:09.

have got a new lease of life. Next, who should replace Sir Bruce Forsyth

:03:10.:03:12.

as presenter of Strictly Come Dancing? That's the question on many

:03:13.:03:15.

dance fans' lips today. Graham Norton has emerged as the favourite

:03:16.:03:19.

to fill his shoes. Brucie's led the hit show for ten years but announced

:03:20.:03:23.

yesterday that it's the right time to step down from doing the live

:03:24.:03:27.

shows. He will still work on special pre-recorded Strictlys, over

:03:28.:03:31.

Christmas time. Well, it's fair to say that lots of you think Sir Bruce

:03:32.:03:33.

is going to be very hard to replace. Brilliant idea, he gets my vote too!

:03:34.:03:57.

Sticking with Saturday night shows - the final of The Voice is tonight

:03:58.:04:01.

and mentor Ricky Wilson will hope his contestant Christina-Marie

:04:02.:04:03.

Wickens takes home the top prize. But Ricky's maybe best known as the

:04:04.:04:07.

lead singer of the band Kaiser Chiefs and we caught up with him and

:04:08.:04:11.

band mate Simon to answer your questions.

:04:12.:04:28.

I think nerves are a good thing to have. You have got to understand

:04:29.:04:36.

that once you are on this stage they will disappear and you will start to

:04:37.:04:40.

enjoy it. You can only learn that by doing something. There is a football

:04:41.:04:54.

team in South Africa called that. We thought it was a cool name. We sort

:04:55.:05:00.

of nicked it. It was the first band 's name that none of us heated! I

:05:01.:05:10.

love it. I want the person with their best voices to win it. When I

:05:11.:05:23.

turned around it was the first time I had turned round in the chair on

:05:24.:05:27.

this show. They don't give you any warning, they just put you in the

:05:28.:05:35.

chair and someone starts singing. It is important to always keep getting

:05:36.:05:41.

new goals. When we first started it was to do a gig. Then a bigger gig.

:05:42.:05:48.

It is always important to set a new goal. There are lots of things we

:05:49.:05:53.

would still like to do. That's all from me, Newsround's back at two

:05:54.:05:55.

o'clock. See you then.

:05:56.:06:00.
