Morning guys, it's Thursday. I'm Naz and this is Newsround. | :00:10. | :00:15.
First, Hurricane Matthew is continuing to move over | :00:16. | :00:17.
In Haiti, rescue teams are trying to reach | :00:18. | :00:21.
parts of the country that have been cut off. | :00:22. | :00:25.
This is just some of the destruction that Hurricane Matthew has | :00:26. | :00:27.
Homes have been swamped by heavy rain and destroyed | :00:28. | :00:34.
This shanty dwelling only just managed to survive | :00:35. | :00:42.
But here, just a few yards away in what now looks like wasteland, | :00:43. | :00:50.
the homes of four families were washed away as the floodwaters | :00:51. | :00:53.
At least ten people have died in Haiti since the hurricane | :00:54. | :00:59.
Thousands have had to leave their homes. | :01:00. | :01:05.
All this comes just six years after a massive | :01:06. | :01:07.
TRANSLATION: The children have just started school | :01:08. | :01:15.
and then their uniforms were washed away. | :01:16. | :01:18.
These children were evacuated from coastal areas | :01:19. | :01:20.
Yesterday hurricane Matthew hit Key West. | :01:21. | :01:27.
And it is now swirling towards the Bahamas | :01:28. | :01:29.
and the US states of Florida and South Carolina. | :01:30. | :01:32.
Thousands of people are already fleeing coastal areas | :01:33. | :01:36.
there before the storm hits over the next few days. | :01:37. | :01:40.
But how did the storm become so strong? | :01:41. | :01:42.
Here's BBC weather presenter Simon King to explain | :01:43. | :01:44.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November. | :01:45. | :01:51.
So in October it's no surprise to see a big hurricane | :01:52. | :01:53.
In the last few days we have had some warm waters in the Caribbean | :01:54. | :02:05.
with temperatures 28, 29 degrees, the same as your swimming pool. | :02:06. | :02:08.
That fuels up the hurricanes, makes it a major hurricane, | :02:09. | :02:10.
hitting Haiti and Cuba over the last few days. | :02:11. | :02:12.
Over the next few days it is going to hit | :02:13. | :02:14.
the Bahamas before moving further northward on Saturday. | :02:15. | :02:16.
If it makes landfall in Florida as a major hurricane | :02:17. | :02:19.
it'll be the first in over a decade, | :02:20. | :02:21.
Onto footy and Wales play Austria tonight | :02:22. | :02:26.
in their second World Cup qualifier. | :02:27. | :02:29.
And it's already getting a little feisty off the pitch. | :02:30. | :02:36.
Austria were knocked out in the Group Stages of the Euros | :02:37. | :02:40.
in the summer but Wales, of course, reached the semi-finals. | :02:41. | :02:43.
Now, Austria's head coach has said Wales were lucky to get that far! | :02:44. | :02:46.
So what does Wales boss Chris Coleman have to say? | :02:47. | :02:48.
I wouldn't put that semifinal achievement down to luck. | :02:49. | :02:53.
You can get lucky over the space of 90 minutes sometimes | :02:54. | :02:56.
but you don't achieve that by being lucky. | :02:57. | :02:58.
We've had good luck and we've had bad luck, like everything else, | :02:59. | :03:05.
but the reason for our achievements is because we're a good team. | :03:06. | :03:08.
Chelsea Ladies were one of two British teams | :03:09. | :03:10.
in the Women's Champions League last night. | :03:11. | :03:12.
Both suffered big losses in the first leg | :03:13. | :03:14.
in their first ever match at Stamford Bridge. | :03:15. | :03:20.
They were thrashed 6-0 to Bayern Munich. | :03:21. | :03:30.
Tonight, the new Women's Super League champions Manchester City | :03:31. | :03:34.
Now to the man who's the champion of running a lot of marathons. | :03:35. | :03:41.
completed his 401st marathonin 401 days. | :03:42. | :03:48.
He set himself the challenge to raise money for anti-bullying | :03:49. | :03:51.
charities, because he was targeted for being gay. | :03:52. | :03:54.
Hundreds of supporters cheered him across the finish line in Bristol. | :03:55. | :03:57.
Ben Smith raised quarter of ?1 million. Ricky has been finding out | :03:58. | :04:20.
what went into the marathon challenge. | :04:21. | :04:22.
one marathon equals just around 26 miles | :04:23. | :04:27.
So Ben Smith has run a total of 10,513 miles! | :04:28. | :04:36.
That's more than the distance between the UK and Australia. | :04:37. | :04:39.
Ben's been running to raise money | :04:40. | :04:41.
He says he was picked on when he was younger. | :04:42. | :04:49.
During his mammouth marathon he's visited | :04:50. | :04:51.
And popped into 101 schools along the way. | :04:52. | :04:55.
But it has been really tough. | :04:56. | :04:58.
He started on the 1st of September 2015. | :04:59. | :05:07.
After 284 days he had to stop for more than a week | :05:08. | :05:09.
for lost time and now he has completed his challenge! | :05:10. | :05:18.
Now Ben's left many footprints around the country but this one | :05:19. | :05:24.
It was found in the Gobi Desert in Asia | :05:25. | :05:29.
Scientists reckon it belonged to a Titanosaur | :05:30. | :05:32.
and believe it's around 70 million years old. | :05:33. | :05:37.
And finally, a dramatic rescue for this cheeky kitten that got | :05:38. | :05:40.
stuck on the ledge of a 12th floor apartment in Singapore. | :05:41. | :05:44.
Animal rescuers came and used a pole | :05:45. | :05:47.
to bring the cat back inside to safety, | :05:48. | :05:53.
and more people stayed on the ground with a big blanket | :05:54. | :05:56.
Luckily the cute kitten was unharmed | :05:57. | :05:59.
That's all from me, Newsround's back on CBBC this afternoon at 4:20pm. | :06:00. | :06:02. |
