Good morning and welcome to your world of news with me,

Hayley.

Find out about the donut you can eat that's made from real gold.

And I'm in Las Vegas at one of the biggest tech shows

in the world, checking out the future of gaming.

But first, is virtual reality the future of gaming?

Well, some of the world's biggest tech companies think so.

They've just unveiled their latest headsets which they think

will change the way you play.

Ricky got to test drive them at the world's biggest gadget show

in Las Vegas.

Every year, thousands of tech fans fly to the US for a chance to see

loads of new cool gadgets before they hit the shops -

from the biggest TVs to these rather unusual smart chairs.

But this year, everyone's talking about these things.

Sony, Oculus and HTC are all releasing virtual reality headsets.

We've seen earlier versions of these products over the last couple

of years, but 2016 really does seem to be the year when these things

become a reality.

Right now, I'm actually underwater.

Wow, there's a stingray just coming close to me there.

I think I'm on a shipwreck.

Virtual reality can be anything.

You just went underwater, for example, but you could also go

to space, you could go anywhere.

But only now is the technology ready to deliver that amazing experience,

like the one you just had when you were underwater.

This is the Oculus Rift.

People are queueing to have a go at this for two hours today.

It's proved very popular.

The people who make this have announced that it will be

released later this year.

But it's going to cost around ?400.

That's a lot of money, and you do need a really

high-powered PC for this to work properly.

OK?

You've got loads of different accessories to go with the virtual

reality headsets, too.

From gloves to this bit of kit, which really puts you into the game.

As you run around in this kit, you're actually running around

in the video game so you're actually becoming part of the character.

But the only downside is that it is quite big and again,

of course, it is quite expensive.

I can't imagine having one of these in my bedroom.

Technology has evolved and for the first time can actually

move in a virtual environment.

Sony PlayStation's headset is also on the way.

And for something a bit cheaper, the Samsung Gear VR works by simply

slipping a smartphone into the front.

And guys, make sure you come back tomorrow -

we'll be looking at the world of drones and robots.

Next, tens of thousands of people have been tuning in online to watch

a live stream of a puddle.

A man working in an office near a big puddle got

so into the way people were trying to cross it

without getting their feet wet that he started streaming it online.

Around 20,000 people were watching within hours to see some

of the unusual attempts.

I know we've only just got back from our Christmas break,

but for some people we're already thinking about school exams -

as their timings could be about to change.

It's all because of Ramadan.

That's the month when Muslims eat nothing while it is daylight.

Many teachers have said they're worried that Muslim pupils cannot

concentrate on exams when they are unable to eat.

So the timetable for GCSEs and A-levels has changed so that

some pupils can sit their exams earlier in the year.

Prince George has had his first day at nursery and two pictures

were released to mark the occasion.

They were taken by his mum, the Duchess of Cambridge,

rather than a royal photographer.

Everton have celebrated a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the first

leg of their League Cup semifinal.

They scored their first goal at the end of the first half,

then Jesus Navas scored an equaliser to bring City level.

Just two minutes later, Everton scored their second goal

to secure the win.

Now to a very expensive donut.

It comes complete with champagne icing, a mousse filling

and a sprinkling of real 24-carat gold flakes.
