I'm Ricky, with Newsround this Friday. | :00:00. | :00:07.
We find out why girls clothes are making Daisy cross. | :00:08. | :00:11.
And the earliest known journey by man and his dog | :00:12. | :00:14.
The storm has now passed the Caribbean islands of The Bahamas. | :00:15. | :00:35.
And it's due to hit the Florida in the United States today. | :00:36. | :00:41.
Around 2 million people have been told to move away from the sea to | :00:42. | :00:44.
keep them safe. BBC weatherman Simon King | :00:45. | :00:47.
is here now to explain. Just how big and powerful is | :00:48. | :00:49.
Hurricane Matthew? It is a category three Hurricane. | :00:50. | :00:58.
That is on a scale up to five. It is one of the biggest Hurricane is to | :00:59. | :01:04.
hit America in a while. Even though wins will be 120 mph, | :01:05. | :01:15.
the floods will be the problem. Water inland flooding properties. | :01:16. | :01:18.
It is about 40 miles away from Florida. It is going to hit Cape | :01:19. | :01:27.
Canaveral. That is all the spacecraft go up into space. Thank | :01:28. | :01:32.
you for coming in. One of the first countries to be hit | :01:33. | :01:34.
by hurricane Matthew was Haiti. And, so far, over 300 people | :01:35. | :01:37.
are known to have died, with many thousands more unable | :01:38. | :01:40.
to return to their homes, after the storm wrecked homes | :01:41. | :01:42.
and caused massive flooding. Charities and aid workers | :01:43. | :01:44.
in the region are working hard to provide essentials like food, | :01:45. | :01:46.
shelter and clean water for people. We have seen a lot of houses | :01:47. | :01:49.
being damaged and destroyed. Right now, our biggest concern | :01:50. | :01:52.
is some of the overcrowded shelters, where tens of thousands | :01:53. | :01:54.
of people are residing At this moment, our biggest | :01:55. | :01:56.
concern is the sanitation, water and hygiene conditions | :01:57. | :02:01.
of the people living there. We are trying to provide emergency | :02:02. | :02:04.
supplies, so that the families and children there can have | :02:05. | :02:07.
access to clean water. And to supplies that will help them, | :02:08. | :02:13.
like blankets, bed sheets, Moving forward, we are concerned | :02:14. | :02:16.
about the situation for children, because the hurricane has brought | :02:17. | :02:21.
a lot of devastation. We are seeing schools | :02:22. | :02:24.
being damaged, roads are blocked. or other water-borne | :02:25. | :02:27.
or mosquito-borne diseases, Next, when you go shopping | :02:28. | :02:33.
for new clothes, do you notice anything different about | :02:34. | :02:40.
boys and girls clothes? Well, 8-year-old Daisy was shopping | :02:41. | :02:46.
with her Mum in a Tesco store when she says she saw | :02:47. | :02:49.
a big difference in the boys | :02:50. | :02:51.
and girls clothes. Here's a taster of | :02:52. | :02:53.
what she thought... It is unfair, because | :02:54. | :02:55.
everyone thinks that girls should just be pretty. | :02:56. | :03:12.
And boys should just be adventurous. I think that is wrong, | :03:13. | :03:17.
because why should boys and girls Because we are just | :03:18. | :03:22.
as good as each other. And Daisy is here | :03:23. | :03:30.
right now to talk to us more Thank you for coming in. He said | :03:31. | :03:46.
that the slogans on the girls T-shirts were less adventurous. Is | :03:47. | :03:52.
that what got you upset? Yes, well... Why can't the girls have the | :03:53. | :03:57.
same slogan, may just in a different colour? Can it not just be maybe... | :03:58. | :04:05.
Not exactly the same words, just slightly different, but meaning the | :04:06. | :04:09.
same thing? Is this something that has been bothering you for a while? | :04:10. | :04:17.
Yes. It has, hasn't it? And what do you want to do about it? Lots of | :04:18. | :04:21.
people have watch that video. Do you think it will make a difference? | :04:22. | :04:32.
Have you asked Tesco? No. We have heard from them. We pit your story | :04:33. | :04:33.
to them. And they sent a comment. We asked Tesco what they thought | :04:34. | :04:37.
about what you had to say. They said thank you | :04:38. | :04:40.
for the feedback. And said they've got | :04:41. | :04:41.
a big range of clothes And they make choices on the style | :04:42. | :04:43.
based on what customers want. Do you think that is a good enough | :04:44. | :04:52.
response? I don't think it is good enough, but I feel disappointed and | :04:53. | :04:57.
annoyed, because why can't they be the same, just maybe in a different | :04:58. | :05:05.
colour. And then annoyed, because... Why can't they be the same and why | :05:06. | :05:11.
can't they be maybe merged together? You are not going to let this one | :05:12. | :05:16.
go. Hopefully Tesco will be able to come back to you and give another | :05:17. | :05:19.
statement. Thank you so much for coming in this morning. It is nice | :05:20. | :05:23.
to see someone so young who is passionate about something. | :05:24. | :05:25.
And we want to know what you think about this issue. | :05:26. | :05:28.
Have you noticed a difference in boys and girls clothes, | :05:29. | :05:30.
And do you think there should even be | :05:31. | :05:33.
Or should they be mixed, like Daisy wants them to be? | :05:34. | :05:37.
Next, to a toothy discovery by one of the world's | :05:38. | :05:41.
Archaeologists have discovered an Alsatian's dogs tooth close | :05:42. | :05:44.
to Stonehenge and say its from 2,000 years before | :05:45. | :05:46.
Scientific analysis of the tooth suggests it made a 250-mile trip | :05:47. | :05:50.
Newsround's back right here this afternoon. | :05:51. | :05:59. |
