Adam Peaty takes gold for Great Britain.

A record-breaking gold medal for Team GB here

First, yes, massive news for Team GB here in Rio -

they've won the first gold medal of the Olympic Games.

Swimmer Adam Peaty broke his own world record to take victory

He even broke his own world record to get that victory.

The moment Team GB has been waiting for.

Adam Peaty was the favourite going into last night's 100 metres

breaststroke final, having broken the world record in qualifying.

How cool is that? We are joined by Rebecca Adlington. Thanks for taking

time to speak to us. You won two gold medals in Beijing, two bronze

medals in London, so you must know how Adam is feeling. He will

probably be a little bit tired, I'm sure. He will be on top of the

world. He still has the relay to come later in the week. The seats

are on Friday morning, so he still has racing to come, he can't sit

back and take it all in and enjoy the Olympic Games. He has to focus

again. We are a swimming team together, and everyone will have

celebrated and congratulated him, as they will do this morning as well.

He has to put the medal away. He is such a team player. You did not see

on TV last night, but when jazz was racing, Adam stopped his interviews

to cheer Jazz. It was an incredible moment and that is why Adam Peaty is

Adam Peaty. He is a true world-class champion who wants to cheer on his

team. He is amazing. What about his grandma? You have got to love Mavis!

It is great that they get to do things at home. That is what my

family were like. Your parents are here, but everyone else's home. It

was great to see them celebrating an incredible moment.
