weekend's action. Good morning, guys. Wecome to

:00:00.:00:00.

Friday, with me, Ricky, and a bit of this on the way: A first sneak-peek

:00:00.:00:10.

at what Aardman Animations are doing to build-up World Cup fever.

:00:11.:00:14.

Plus, the latest twist in the tale of the mountain that's up for sale.

:00:15.:00:23.

This is Newsround. But first this Friday, to plans to

:00:24.:00:26.

search for new medicines under the sea. Scientists say ocean

:00:27.:00:29.

exploration could hold the key to finding new drugs to treat anything

:00:30.:00:32.

from infections to cancer. They think studying the genetic make-up

:00:33.:00:35.

and chemicals inside things like starfish could help them develop new

:00:36.:00:39.

life-saving drugs. Searches are already under way off the coast of

:00:40.:00:42.

Scotland, and the European Union is planning to put almost ?120 million

:00:43.:00:51.

into finding out more. Historically this isn't a place that people have

:00:52.:00:54.

looked, so they haven't exploited it and there's a whole raft of new

:00:55.:00:57.

technologies that are allowing one to screen more methodically, more

:00:58.:01:05.

scientifically. Next, to new measures to try to

:01:06.:01:10.

tackle internet piracy. Big players in the entertainment industry have

:01:11.:01:12.

been in talks with UK internet providers about the issue. As part

:01:13.:01:18.

of the plan, providers will send letters to customers thought to be

:01:19.:01:20.

downloading illegally. They're expected to be sent out in 2015.

:01:21.:01:29.

Next, the chairman of the English FA has been forced to defend new plans

:01:30.:01:33.

to try and improve the fortunes of the England footy team. A special

:01:34.:01:36.

commission has been looking into how to produce more top-quality English

:01:37.:01:39.

players in the future, and presented its ideas yesterday. They include

:01:40.:01:42.

stricter rules on the number of foreign players teams can sign as

:01:43.:01:46.

well as having a new league for Premier League B teams. That was

:01:47.:01:49.

heavily criticised by lots of people, prompting this response from

:01:50.:01:52.

Chairman Greg Dyke. They're difficult proposals and you

:01:53.:01:54.

cant possibly be sure that everyone's going to buy into them,

:01:55.:01:58.

but, the question I asked to the people who don't buy into them -

:01:59.:02:02.

well, what do you want to do? The analysis in this document is pretty

:02:03.:02:05.

damning for the future of English football and English boys'. If you

:02:06.:02:09.

don't want to buy into this, what do you want to do? It's not enough to

:02:10.:02:12.

say we do nothing. Well, the current England team is

:02:13.:02:16.

just five weeks away from the start of the World Cup in Brazil, and

:02:17.:02:19.

these tiny footballers will appear in short films on the BBC, starting

:02:20.:02:23.

this weekend, to help build up the football fever. They were designed

:02:24.:02:26.

by the company behind Shaun the Sheep, and Match of the Day

:02:27.:02:29.

Kickabout's Radzi went to get sneak-peek at how they were created.

:02:30.:02:34.

Danny, this looks incredible. All these shots of Brazil, what exactly

:02:35.:02:53.

is it? It is a journey to Brazil and we follow these for little football

:02:54.:02:57.

figures all the way from the UK all the way over to Brazil and their

:02:58.:03:01.

destiny is to get to the stadium to see the World Cup live. This kind of

:03:02.:03:05.

sums up the flavour of result for us, there's lots of colour, the

:03:06.:03:08.

street art, the football, the beach. How did you get it to work?

:03:09.:03:11.

Presumably the characters themselves can't walk and talk themselves.

:03:12.:03:14.

We'll be using a method called CGI, which is computer-generated imagery.

:03:15.:03:19.

And what that means is we will be creating the characters in the

:03:20.:03:22.

computer and then we'll be putting them into a live-action real film

:03:23.:03:26.

scene and try to make them look as though they're in the same

:03:27.:03:29.

environment. When I think of Brazil, I've got a really strong image in my

:03:30.:03:33.

head, did you have that? I did, yes, especially because in Brazil they

:03:34.:03:36.

are notoriously known for having so much passion about football and

:03:37.:03:39.

football and football! They absolutely love it, and they breathe

:03:40.:03:43.

it and when we got there it just lived up to all our expectations.

:03:44.:03:46.

You would go to Copacabana beach and you would just see balls flying up

:03:47.:03:50.

in the air morning till night, and yes, it was fantastic. It was

:03:51.:03:53.

amazing. And to find out how the finished

:03:54.:03:56.

videos look, check out Match of the Day Kickabout, Saturday morning at

:03:57.:04:06.

7.30 on CBBC. One of Europe's biggest sporting

:04:07.:04:08.

events gets under way in Northern Ireland later. When it comes to

:04:09.:04:12.

cycling, the Giro d'Italia is only second to the Tour de France. In

:04:13.:04:15.

Belfast preparations have been under way for months to get the city

:04:16.:04:19.

ready, and today the racing finally begins. Belfast beat off competition

:04:20.:04:22.

from other cities to host the tournament and many landmarks have

:04:23.:04:25.

turned pink to celebrate. Two-day Belfast road to overcome a

:04:26.:04:31.

race track. The colour pink is absolutely everywhere. That is

:04:32.:04:35.

because this race is known as the fight for pink. The leader wears a

:04:36.:04:40.

pink jersey and in recent days that colour has just gone crazy in this

:04:41.:04:44.

city. Even the famous yellow shipyard cranes have been left up

:04:45.:04:53.

pink at night in honour of the race. -- let up.

:04:54.:05:02.
