Poaching threatens the survival of rhinos

And meet the biggest social media stars of the dog world

Today is BBC News School Report Day - when school children get to make

the news about subjects important to them.

in India have been looking at the effects of the air pollution.

Hello. We are the students of Gandhi Memorial public school in Delhi, and

we are on a busy road to measure the air pollution. The number of

particles in the air is made up of the safe limit of 25. We are young

people growing up in what is often called the most polluted city in the

world and we will investigate whether the capital can raise future

generations. This is where we go to school in east Delhi. The early

morning sky is full of dust. Earlier, the levels were much worse

making it difficult to even breathe. One of the major causes of pollution

is the increasing number of vehicles. Around 1400 get added to

the roads in Delhi every day. Other problems include pollution from

construction sites and burning fires. To find out more we went to

see a local doctor. Weight air pollution is a problem with

children. Every day we come across 13 to 20 children who are suffering

from air pollution diseases. Illnesses include pneumonia.

Intellectual activities will be disturbed. According to the monitor,

pollution levels near our school are around 200. They should not be more

than 25. Air pollution is causing millions of early deaths every year,

mostly in developing countries, and therefore cities like Ali need

urgent action. White Mac whether Delhi is enough for the next

generation depends on what we do today. We need to reduce the number

of cars on the roads, and we need to improve public transport, better

Metro service, and more buses. All people need to come together to

plant trees to ensure that all trees in the city stay alive, and we need

to prevent trucks and other diesel vehicles coming into the city.

Weight no doubt, the government is making efforts to find a solution to

the problem but it needs a commitment from the public.

The number of African rhinos being killed for their horns

by poachers has gone up for the sixth year in a row.

Research from the International Union

for Conservation of Nature says at least 1,300

rhinos were killed across Africa last year.

There are around 30,000 southern white and black rhinos left

And some of the most popular stars of the canine world are heading

to this year's Crufts, the world's largest dog show.

The annual event gets underway today in Birmingham

and the pooches with the biggest following on Instagram have been

invited along this year to take part.

The show's organisers say it will be a good chance for the animals
