It's Monday, Ayshah here live on CBBC with some of this | :00:00. | :00:00.
One man and his incredible journey across two continents on foot. | :00:07. | :00:12.
And Ricky brings you the very latest tech to help you get around. | :00:13. | :00:25.
and the civil war that's affecting many who live there. | :00:26. | :00:30.
In the town of Madaya, there are reports that people | :00:31. | :00:33.
are running out of supplies of food, water and medical equipment. | :00:34. | :00:36.
These trucks carrying food and water | :00:37. | :00:42.
Even though the town is only 25 miles from the capital of Damascus, | :00:43. | :00:51.
it's been cut off from the outside world because of fighting. | :00:52. | :00:54.
Over the last six months, the 40,000 people that live there | :00:55. | :00:56.
It's also meant no-one has been able to come into the town too. | :00:57. | :01:01.
food, water and electricity supplies are very low. | :01:02. | :01:06.
Sadly, Syria has been at war for five years and it's torn | :01:07. | :01:09.
the country apart into the areas controlled by the government | :01:10. | :01:12.
and other areas controlled by different opposition groups | :01:13. | :01:15.
and the war is so intense that all sides are willing to use | :01:16. | :01:18.
whatever it takes to try to gain advantage over their enemy, | :01:19. | :01:21.
and that has meant even cutting off regular food and water and medical | :01:22. | :01:25.
supplies into communities, which has left people, | :01:26. | :01:28.
So what is happening today is that all sides have agreed | :01:29. | :01:45.
But so many other areas are still desperate | :01:46. | :01:47.
Now that the town of Madiya has got supplies for next month, | :01:48. | :01:53.
it's hoped aid agencies will be able to get more supplies | :01:54. | :01:55.
If you want to know more about what's happening in Syria, | :01:56. | :01:59.
there's lots over on the Newsround website. | :02:00. | :02:06.
There is also advice if anything in the news upsets you. | :02:07. | :02:13.
Next, Ricky's tried out loads of cool new things while he's been | :02:14. | :02:16.
in America at the world's biggest gadget show, the CES. | :02:17. | :02:18.
He even got his hands on the world's first smart electric skates - | :02:19. | :02:21.
just one of the many new things to help you get around. | :02:22. | :02:24.
So we've seen loads of personal mobility gadgets right here. | :02:25. | :02:27.
Now what they are, in each skate, there is a motor in the wheel. | :02:28. | :02:37.
There is also a battery which powers the motor. | :02:38. | :02:39.
And the pressure you put at the front of the skate | :02:40. | :02:41.
They're pretty difficult to use, actually, I found. | :02:42. | :02:44.
I'm going to try and have another go. | :02:45. | :02:52.
Now to the runner who has travelled the length | :02:53. | :03:13.
Jamie Ramsey quit his job to run from Vancouver in Canada all the way | :03:14. | :03:18.
to Buenos Aires in Argentina. It's all to raise money for charity. | :03:19. | :03:21.
I am in Vancouver and I've got 18 months to run | :03:22. | :03:25.
Crossing over 14 countries, some of them a little bit more | :03:26. | :03:31.
He has to take everything he needs with him | :03:32. | :03:36.
in a specially-designed pram which he pushes as he runs. | :03:37. | :03:40.
All day long, I've been running uphill. | :03:41. | :03:43.
A large part of his journey was on the Pan-American Highway, | :03:44. | :03:49.
a stretch of road which runs from Canada through the USA | :03:50. | :03:53.
If you want to see what it looks like to dive down 4000, | :03:54. | :03:59.
er, 2000 metres, that's what it looks like! | :04:00. | :04:03.
It goes down and switches back and back, | :04:04. | :04:07.
across two continents and 14 countries. | :04:08. | :04:15.
He's worn out 17 pairs of shoes and travelled over 10,000 miles. | :04:16. | :04:22.
This is the moment he arrived in Buenos Aires. | :04:23. | :04:29.
Boom, boom, boom! Congratulations! | :04:30. | :04:35.
Jamie arrived back in the UK yesterday, where he ran | :04:36. | :04:39.
from Heathrow Airport to the Houses of Parliament - | :04:40. | :04:41.
but hopefully, we'll raise lots of money. | :04:42. | :04:50.
I'll be back with more Newsround tomorrow morning at 7.40. | :04:51. | :04:57. |
