a storm to celebrate Diwali.

But first today is Armistice Day and at 11 clock

a two-minute silence was held across the country to remember those

who have lost their lives in war.

It represents the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, the time

in 1918 when the guns finally fell silent along the Western Front in

World War I and peace, was declared.

Millions of people were silent today to show their respect and we asked

some of you what you would be thinking about at 11 o'clock today.

I will be thinking about my grandad and many other

soldiers who fought in the war and risked their lives to save us.

I will be thinking about the people who died for us so we can be

happy and live in a free country.

I'll be thinking about other soldiers and people who

have risked their lives for us.

To me it means that I am being very respectful to the people

who took part in the war.

It makes me feel proud of my country

and people who suffered for us.

I will be thinking of the people who risked their lives for our lives,

so we could be a proud country.

It makes me feel grateful and I need to respect it.

I'll be thinking about the poppy because it

represents Flanders Fields which was the first poppy to be grown

and represents new life and hope.

We asked you guys at home for your comments about this

"I will be remembering my granddad who was a navigator in

World War II."

And Will from the Isle of Wight tells us:

"I will be remembering my great, great, great uncle Eric who died

in Dunkirk."

Today is also Diwali, the biggest and most exciting event of the

year for Hindu, Sikhs and Jains.

We sent Ayshah to Leicester to find out more.

Diwali is a festival of light.

And the triumph of good over evil.

And we all celebrate it because it's when Rama comes home with his wife

Sita,

as they've been away for 14 years fighting the ten headed demon.

We also light divas in celebration of him coming home.

These girls are all here to perform a special Diwali dance.

You are about to go on stage, tell me how you're feeling?

I'm very excited because this is a really professional show and I'm

really excited to take part in it.

I'm nervous, but excited at the same time.

Outfits ready, make-up done, it's showtime.

Show's over, the girls did great.

We all thought we might do a wrong step but luckily it went all well.

None of us did anything wrong, so I'm happy about that and I'm proud.

This was a very special occasion for these girls, so why is Diwali

so important to them?

Diwali means to have the families together and be together as one.

We give loads of sweets, we give presents,

we exchange presents and sweets and also the main thing is we light

fireworks in the sky and it's so pretty to see them.

My favourite part is to do the fireworks because I wait

for one year to do the fireworks.

It's really fun.

I think we're all danced out, but there's one thing we still have

to do and that's wish you...

Sport now and England rugby coach, Stuart Lancaster, has resigned.

The team didn't perform well in the recent rugby world Cup

championship, loosing two games in the group rounds, and failing to

make it the quarter finals.

So far there has been no word on who will replace him.

And finally, meet Godzilla the alligator.

He gave shoppers quite a surprise when he was spotted

wandering around outside a shopping centre in Texas, in America.

He weighs more than 360 kilograms, and can't see very well,

so he's been taken to this sanctuary for a bit of rest and relaxation.
