Imagine a country where it's normal for children grow up a long	:00:16.	:00:18.
That's what's happening right now in China, where millions of children	:00:19.	:00:23.
Today we've got a special report on why it happens, and we'll be	:00:24.	:00:29.
hearing from one boy to find out what it's like to be one	:00:30.	:00:34.
In China, not that long ago, most people lived in the countryside,	:00:35.	:00:47.
looking after their animals and growing their own food.	:00:48.	:00:55.
And then everything started to change.	:00:56.	:01:14.
Factories sprang up to make things that people all over	:01:15.	:01:18.
And suddenly millions of people were on the move from	:01:19.	:01:31.
the countryside to huge new cities where they could get money	:01:32.	:01:34.
But when the adults moved away, they were not allowed	:01:35.	:01:43.
Millions of them were left behind in the countryside.	:01:44.	:01:59.
They are now known as the "left behind children".	:02:00.	:02:05.
I live here with my grandmother, my brother and two cousins.	:02:06.	:02:27.
The work in another city called Chengdu in factories making clothes.	:02:28.	:02:38.
My parents do not earn much and they do not get	:02:39.	:02:41.
But thanks to their hard work, we are not down and out.	:02:42.	:02:57.
When Mum and Dad come back to visit, I run to meet them.	:02:58.	:03:05.
I run a very long way because I cannot wait	:03:06.	:03:07.
What I love most is to go fishing with them.	:03:08.	:03:19.
On my own, I can only catch one or two fish, three at most.	:03:20.	:03:24.
But when Mum and Dad are here, we catch lots of fish.	:03:25.	:03:40.
During Chinese New Year, Mum and Dad visit for longer.	:03:41.	:03:42.
They start out small with not too much light and then they fly high	:03:43.	:03:47.
They are bright and colourful, and very beautiful.	:03:48.	:04:01.
It is not easy for Mum and Dad to come back to visit us.	:04:02.	:04:12.
They can only stay for a few days before they have to leave again.	:04:13.	:04:18.
I do not want to be separated from them.	:04:19.	:04:27.
I know it is hard for Mum and Dad to earn money.	:04:28.	:04:32.
I do not want to cause trouble for them but I miss them so much.	:04:33.	:04:37.
It is very painful but I cannot do anything about it because I do not	:04:38.	:04:41.
This is my home, I want to do something big.	:04:42.	:05:06.
I would like to be a boss and run a factory and I will take my	:05:07.	:05:10.
kids to my workplace so we can stay together.	:05:11.	:05:20.
