Hi, guys - you're live with me, Leah, and I've got top footy news | :00:00. | :00:00.
and some amazing space stories coming right up on Newsround. | :00:00. | :00:10.
But first to the Euro 2016 Championship in France | :00:11. | :00:23.
because everyone's talking about Group B, where England | :00:24. | :00:28.
They're joined by Slovakia and Russia. | :00:29. | :00:33.
For Wales, it's their first major tournament for 58 years, | :00:34. | :00:35.
and England, who were knocked out of the group stages of the World Cup | :00:36. | :00:39.
in Brazil, are hoping for better in Paris. | :00:40. | :00:41.
You just take what you get, so we're more than happy, | :00:42. | :00:43.
and Chris and I have been friends for a long time. | :00:44. | :00:46.
Whatever happens, we'll be friends after the game as well. | :00:47. | :00:49.
We are in a group with some top competition, we know that. | :00:50. | :00:51.
We know all about England, of course. | :00:52. | :00:53.
We know they are going to be very strong. | :00:54. | :00:55.
Also Northern Ireland will play world champions Germany, | :00:56. | :00:57.
along with Poland and Ukraine in Group C, while the Republic | :00:58. | :01:00.
of Ireland take on Italy, Sweden and Belgium in Group E. | :01:01. | :01:02.
Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill believes | :01:03. | :01:04.
despite a difficult group, they're in with a shout. | :01:05. | :01:11.
Will have a difficult game against Poland and Ukraine, but the fact | :01:12. | :01:17.
they are the first two games maybe helps us, then we have a massive | :01:18. | :01:21.
game to look forward to against Germany in Paris. | :01:22. | :01:22.
Next, 200 countries around the world have agreed on a major deal to try | :01:23. | :01:27.
World leaders signed up to the plan after two weeks | :01:28. | :01:30.
They've said they'll stop the temperature of the earth getting | :01:31. | :01:34.
too high by reducing the amount of energy they use. | :01:35. | :01:36.
And richer countries have agreed to help poorer ones develop | :01:37. | :01:39.
Some people think the deal doesn't go far enough, and America's | :01:40. | :01:44.
president says it's just the beginning. | :01:45. | :01:51.
No agreement is perfect, including this one. Negotiations that involved | :01:52. | :01:56.
nearly 200 nations are always challenging. Even if all the initial | :01:57. | :02:04.
targets set in Paris are met, we will only be part of the way there | :02:05. | :02:08.
in reducing carbon from the atmosphere, so we can't become | :02:09. | :02:09.
placing. -- can't be complacent. We'll have more on this at two | :02:10. | :02:15.
o'clock, but there's loads more about that agreement | :02:16. | :02:19.
and what climate change Now, this week, astronaut Tim Peake | :02:20. | :02:21.
will become the first British man in history to blast off | :02:22. | :02:25.
for the International Space Station. The craft he'll travel in has just | :02:26. | :02:28.
been moved onto its special launch site, and the BBC's Sarah Rainsford | :02:29. | :02:31.
was there to see it all happen. This is the first really big moment | :02:32. | :02:34.
in the build-up to launch date, as the Russian spacecraft is rolled | :02:35. | :02:37.
slowly out of a vast hangar here, ready finally to take the next group | :02:38. | :02:40.
of astronauts up into space. The crew themselves never turn out | :02:41. | :02:43.
for the roll-out of the rocket, But the back-up crew are here, | :02:44. | :02:49.
those three astronauts For many, it is the first time | :02:50. | :02:52.
they've seen the rocket Have you ever seen the rocket | :02:53. | :02:59.
up this close before? How are you feeling, | :03:00. | :03:06.
looking ahead to the launch itself? We saw him last night, | :03:07. | :03:10.
and he's absolutely fine. Well, here to talk to us now | :03:11. | :03:19.
about that Tim Peake mission and some other cool space stuff | :03:20. | :03:22.
you can actually see live in the sky this evening is space | :03:23. | :03:25.
scientist Tim O'Brien Tim, first up, how excited | :03:26. | :03:27.
are you by Tim Peake heading I just watched that clip then and | :03:28. | :03:37.
saw the rocket rolling out on that cold morning there, here standing up | :03:38. | :03:43.
in the background, thinking about what is happening in two days' time | :03:44. | :03:47.
when they are launched into space. It will be incredible, we've been | :03:48. | :03:53.
covering the build-up. Why is it such a build-up of children? You can | :03:54. | :03:56.
see the International Space Station overhead as a bright start. And do | :03:57. | :04:01.
think there are people on board that, orbiting the earth, in space, | :04:02. | :04:07.
doing experiments, think that is exciting. Maybe a few people | :04:08. | :04:10.
watching might go into space themselves, but it is more than just | :04:11. | :04:14.
the astronaut, is actually thousands of people, there's a huge team | :04:15. | :04:20.
behind him. If you're interested in science and technology, the space | :04:21. | :04:22.
industry is a great thing to think having a career in. It has made it | :04:23. | :04:32.
very accessible to people. It is a great education, which is going into | :04:33. | :04:38.
schools all run the country. We are also talking about some other space | :04:39. | :04:45.
stuff. There is going to be a meteor shower from 9pm this evening? Once | :04:46. | :04:52.
it goes dark, it will get better. If you are lucky, and keep your fingers | :04:53. | :04:55.
crossed the skies are clear, what you will see many more shooting | :04:56. | :05:00.
stars than normal, a meteor shower. The great thing about them is you | :05:01. | :05:06.
just have to look up. You don't need any special cake. You don't need any | :05:07. | :05:11.
telescopes, just look up at the sky, let it build your eyes and you will | :05:12. | :05:16.
see the streaks of light in the sky. They're basically little bit of | :05:17. | :05:22.
rubble that fell of an asteroid, and as the asteroid orbit the Sun, the | :05:23. | :05:25.
Earth passes through that trail and these things heady atmosphere and | :05:26. | :05:34.
burn up in the sky. Are you excited? Yes. They are great things. They | :05:35. | :05:40.
happen this time of the year. Over the coming days, you will have the | :05:41. | :05:44.
chance to see them, so it is always great fun. It is always exciting. | :05:45. | :05:50.
Head to the website to find out where the best place to see the | :05:51. | :05:55.
meteor today, and what time. That's all from me and turn, have a great | :05:56. | :05:59.
afternoon. We are back just before 2pm. Goodbye. | :06:00. | :06:02. |
