Coming up on Newsround - Three Newsround viewers quiz | :00:15. | :00:17.
the big rivals in the Scottish referendum debate. | :00:18. | :00:19.
And the competition where it's OK to throw your food. | :00:20. | :00:24.
The three Newsround viewers, who all live in Scotland, | :00:25. | :00:31.
came face to face with the two big rivals in the Scottish | :00:32. | :00:35.
referendum debate, and asked them some pretty tough questions! | :00:36. | :00:37.
Alex Salmond wants Scotland to become independent. | :00:38. | :00:40.
Alistair Darling wants it to remain part of the UK. | :00:41. | :00:43.
And with just two days to go before people in Scotland vote, it's | :00:44. | :00:47.
Today is a big day, you're getting the to interview Alex Salmond and | :00:48. | :01:09.
Alistair Darling, how are you feeling? Really excited, excited to | :01:10. | :01:14.
find out what their opinions will be. They're matter what the result | :01:15. | :01:20.
is, I am excited to find out what they will do for our country to make | :01:21. | :01:25.
it better. It is amazing that we get to interview them and hear their | :01:26. | :01:29.
opinions. Even though we don't get to vote, we do have our own | :01:30. | :01:34.
opinions. Good luck, it is now down to you. I think Scotland is better | :01:35. | :01:43.
off with the UK, what would you say to make people like me think | :01:44. | :01:50.
independence is a good idea? I don't think there is anybody who will do a | :01:51. | :01:54.
better job of running Scotland than the people who live and work in | :01:55. | :01:58.
Scotland. Nobody will care more about Scotland than the people who | :01:59. | :02:02.
are here. It is not because people far away in Westminster are trying | :02:03. | :02:06.
to do Scotland down, it is just that they don't know enough about | :02:07. | :02:10.
Scotland to take the right choices. I think it is true for Scotland and | :02:11. | :02:16.
true for all countries that the best people to run a country other people | :02:17. | :02:19.
who live, work and stay in that country. I think Scotland should | :02:20. | :02:24.
become an independent country, what would you say to make kids like me | :02:25. | :02:28.
think that staying in the UK is a good idea? I think we can have the | :02:29. | :02:33.
best of both worlds. We have a Scottish parliament at the moment | :02:34. | :02:36.
and it has control over things like health and education, policing, | :02:37. | :02:42.
transport and all of these things. We do that but we also have the | :02:43. | :02:47.
benefit of being part of the United Kingdom, which we helped build. 300 | :02:48. | :02:51.
years ago we joined with the others and we built it up. They also give a | :02:52. | :02:56.
lot of jobs in Scotland that depend on us being part of the UK. We make | :02:57. | :03:02.
things in Scotland and we sell them down south. That is really | :03:03. | :03:06.
important. There is also the fact, if you are part of something | :03:07. | :03:11.
bigger, it can sometimes be good in terms of security and safety. A very | :03:12. | :03:14.
difficult world and I think it is better for us to be together. Will | :03:15. | :03:20.
my family have more money of Scotland goes independent or stays | :03:21. | :03:24.
part of the UK, and how do you know? I think Scotland will be more | :03:25. | :03:28.
prosperous because we are a country of great natural resources, we have | :03:29. | :03:31.
huge natural resources in Scotland, a relatively small population. I | :03:32. | :03:35.
don't think that is the real reason. I think Scotland will be a | :03:36. | :03:41.
prosperous country because of Scots, cause of the people of Scotland, | :03:42. | :03:45.
because of the ingenuity, talent and ability. And a country which | :03:46. | :03:49.
understands that and invests in people's future is a country which | :03:50. | :03:55.
will succeed. The answer is I don't know, because you can't say what is | :03:56. | :03:58.
going to happen to every family, whether they will be better off or | :03:59. | :04:04.
worse off. I think your family, when you discuss these things, you will | :04:05. | :04:07.
have to ask yourselves, what does it look like in terms of the jobs that | :04:08. | :04:14.
your parents do, or what the prospects are, if you're older | :04:15. | :04:18.
brother or sister goes to university, you have to ask yourself | :04:19. | :04:21.
what is best for you but also what is best for the country in which you | :04:22. | :04:23.
live. Don't miss the second part of | :04:24. | :04:24.
that chat on Newsround at 8:15am. Find out if the two men will | :04:25. | :04:29.

find out where she's reached Finally, do your parents | :04:33. | :04:35.
tell you not to throw food? It's the | :04:36. | :04:38.
World Black Pudding-Throwing Championships in the town | :04:39. | :04:43.

for more than 100 years! That's all for now. | :04:50. | :04:55.
