Hi, guys. | 0:00:04 | 0:00:05
I'm Ayshah and you're live with Newsround this Tuesday. | 0:00:05 | 0:00:07
We've got the latest from Jenny in Paris coming up plus some of this. | 0:00:07 | 0:00:11
What to do if you're being griefed on Minecraft. | 0:00:11 | 0:00:14
Plus it was a great night for fans of the Republic of Ireland. | 0:00:14 | 0:00:17
Find out why in the next few minutes. | 0:00:17 | 0:00:20
Let's go to Paris in France first. | 0:00:29 | 0:00:31
People there are still trying to get back to normal after attacks | 0:00:31 | 0:00:31
that happened on Friday, where more than 120 people lost their lives. | 0:00:34 | 0:00:37
Jenny is in Paris and has been finding out what the mood | 0:00:37 | 0:00:40
in the city is like at the moment. | 0:00:40 | 0:00:44
The Eiffel Tower is not only a symbol for Paris, | 0:00:44 | 0:00:47
but it's also one of the most famous landmarks in the world. | 0:00:47 | 0:00:50
Since the attacks on Friday it's been closed but now, as you can see, | 0:00:50 | 0:00:54
it open again, it is lit up with the colours red, white and blue, the | 0:00:54 | 0:00:58
French flag called the Tricolor. | 0:00:58 | 0:01:00
And it's a pretty powerful sight. | 0:01:00 | 0:01:03
The bright lights of the Eiffel Tower have drawn many | 0:01:03 | 0:01:05
tourists staying in the city back out onto the streets again. | 0:01:05 | 0:01:09
It's been heartbreaking what happened to the people | 0:01:09 | 0:01:12
of this city these past days and I think people are moving on. | 0:01:12 | 0:01:17
They must do it because it's life. | 0:01:17 | 0:01:20
I think the French people find their way to their lives again. | 0:01:20 | 0:01:28
We arrived here in the day, the exact day things happened. | 0:01:28 | 0:01:34
Our parents are afraid about it, but we go out but things are empty. | 0:01:34 | 0:01:40
The city was empty. | 0:01:40 | 0:01:42
We will recover because it's a strong city and people have this | 0:01:42 | 0:01:46
power to recover, I'm sure of that. | 0:01:46 | 0:01:50
French people are amazing, also are close to one another. | 0:01:50 | 0:01:56
Do you have anything you want to say to children living in Paris? | 0:01:56 | 0:01:59
All will be good. | 0:01:59 | 0:02:01
We'll have more from Jenny later this week but you | 0:02:01 | 0:02:03
can find out loads more about what's happening on the Newsround website. | 0:02:03 | 0:02:07
Plus what Islamic State is and why people join them. | 0:02:07 | 0:02:10
And remember that if anything in the news ever upsets you there's | 0:02:10 | 0:02:13
lots of help and advice online too. | 0:02:13 | 0:02:17
And if you've got any questions you'd like to ask about what's | 0:02:17 | 0:02:20
happening then send them into us. | 0:02:20 | 0:02:22
We'll be getting BBC security correspondent Frank Gardner to | 0:02:22 | 0:02:24
answer as many of them as possible later in the week so head to the | 0:02:24 | 0:02:28
Newsround website to find out how. | 0:02:28 | 0:02:33
OK, in other news, it was a great night for fans | 0:02:33 | 0:02:35
of the Republic of Ireland as they booked their place at next summer's | 0:02:35 | 0:02:38
European footy Championships. | 0:02:38 | 0:02:40
Two goals from Stoke City's Jon Walters gave them | 0:02:40 | 0:02:43
a 2-0 win over Bosnia in the second leg of their qualifying play-off. | 0:02:43 | 0:02:48
They won 3-1 on aggregate to ensure they'll be there at Euro 2016. | 0:02:48 | 0:03:02
Next up, if you're a Minecraft fan then you might be | 0:03:02 | 0:03:05
aware of something called Griefing. | 0:03:05 | 0:03:06
It's a form of bullying where people deliberately hack your game. | 0:03:06 | 0:03:08
Stampy spoke to Newsround all about it and I went to speak to kids | 0:03:08 | 0:03:12
who have had it happen to them. | 0:03:12 | 0:03:14
If you're not sure what "griefing" is, | 0:03:14 | 0:03:15
here's Stampy with an explanation. | 0:03:15 | 0:03:16
Griefing is when someone intentionally does | 0:03:16 | 0:03:18
something mean to someone in Minecraft or anywhere else. | 0:03:18 | 0:03:20
Griefing can become bullying. | 0:03:20 | 0:03:21
It just depends on who's doing it and whether everyone is having fun. | 0:03:21 | 0:03:28
It can be a joke of, I've hidden your items or set up a trap as you | 0:03:28 | 0:03:32
go into your house, but sometimes if someone's not having fun and, you | 0:03:32 | 0:03:35
know, maybe it's a group of people all griefing one other person, then | 0:03:35 | 0:03:38
I think griefing is a bad thing. | 0:03:38 | 0:03:40
I met some Minecraft fans who told me their griefing stories. | 0:03:40 | 0:03:43
I was just going on doing my own business on my island. | 0:03:43 | 0:03:47
I added this thing so it meant they could build on it but what he did, | 0:03:47 | 0:03:52
he just took all my stuff. | 0:03:52 | 0:03:54
Somebody looted all my chests. | 0:03:54 | 0:03:58
And they placed a fixture and it blew my whole house up. | 0:03:58 | 0:04:01
Do you know who did it? | 0:04:01 | 0:04:03
No. | 0:04:03 | 0:04:05 | |
So why do people grief others? | 0:04:05 | 0:04:07
I think they do it either just for laughs or if someone builds a house | 0:04:07 | 0:04:10
that they find better than theirs, they just want to get rid of it. | 0:04:10 | 0:04:15
I think they just want to mess around with people. | 0:04:15 | 0:04:18
And just be annoying. | 0:04:18 | 0:04:20
It's just what you've been working on for hours and you | 0:04:20 | 0:04:23
don't want it to be destroyed. | 0:04:23 | 0:04:27
I think people grief especially online because they feel they | 0:04:27 | 0:04:30
can get away with it because you can kind of be anonymous. | 0:04:30 | 0:04:32
No one knows who you are when you are online. | 0:04:32 | 0:04:35
You can have a fake name. | 0:04:35 | 0:04:36
I think people like to do it because they know that they're | 0:04:36 | 0:04:39
probably not going to get caught and I think it's the same as why people | 0:04:39 | 0:04:43
might do a prank on the playground. | 0:04:43 | 0:04:45
They're just doing it for a bit of fun. | 0:04:45 | 0:04:47
So how can you avoid griefing? | 0:04:47 | 0:04:49
I think the biggest problem is when griefing crosses over | 0:04:49 | 0:04:51
from something you're doing just in gameplay and turns into messages. | 0:04:51 | 0:04:55
If someone's writing mean things to you, not being nice, | 0:04:55 | 0:04:59
almost bullying you, through the things they're writing in | 0:04:59 | 0:05:01
the game, that is definitely wrong. | 0:05:01 | 0:05:04
Monitor who is allowed to join your world, so if you're | 0:05:04 | 0:05:07
on a console version make it so only your friends can join or | 0:05:07 | 0:05:10
people need an invite to join. | 0:05:10 | 0:05:12
Or if you play online you can do exactly the same thing on PC. | 0:05:12 | 0:05:15
I guess just making sure you only have people you really trust playing | 0:05:15 | 0:05:18
with you is the safest way to avoid griefing. | 0:05:18 | 0:05:22
And finally, if you're not much of a breakfast fan then you might | 0:05:22 | 0:05:25
want to think again because it might just help you do better at school. | 0:05:25 | 0:05:30
A new study looked at what 5,000 nine to 11-year-olds eat each day. | 0:05:30 | 0:05:34
It says there's strong evidence that those who ate | 0:05:34 | 0:05:36
a good brekky do better in class. | 0:05:36 | 0:05:39
The researchers at Cardiff University said eating more | 0:05:39 | 0:05:42
in the morning meant some kids' test results were twice as good. | 0:05:42 | 0:05:47
That's all from the team this morning. | 0:05:47 | 0:05:49
We're back at 4.20pm this afternoon. | 0:05:49 | 0:05:52
Bye-bye! | 0:05:52 | 0:05:55 |
