Hi, I'm Ricky, live in the Newsround studio. | :00:07. | :00:08.
Coming up: Rita Ora storms to the top | :00:09. | :00:11.
of the charts. And hear from the kids working | :00:12. | :00:14.
up to 72 hours a week. This is Newsround. | :00:15. | :00:19.
But first this morning, to the winners of the TV BAFTA awards. | :00:20. | :00:22.
It's by far the biggest night for actors, presenters, | :00:23. | :00:24.
The unstoppable Ant and Dec took home two BAFTAs for their popular | :00:25. | :00:29.
They won best entertainment show and entertainment performance. | :00:30. | :00:35.
Dr Who - Day Of The Doctor won the audience award. | :00:36. | :00:38.
It's the only prize voted for by the public. | :00:39. | :00:41.
And wildlife legend Sir David Attenborough's Natural | :00:42. | :00:43.
History Museum Alive won the specialist factual award. | :00:44. | :00:48.
And Harry Potter star Julie Walters won a Fellowship, Bafta's top award. | :00:49. | :01:01.
It's a huge honour, BAFTA is massively important. This is... | :01:02. | :01:06.
Words can't express it. Next, | :01:07. | :01:11.
what word would you use to describe England's top young football stars? | :01:12. | :01:13.
Talented? Exciting? What about scary? | :01:14. | :01:15.
Well, that's what England captain Steven Gerrard thinks of them, | :01:16. | :01:18.
saying the inclusion of so many young players to England's World Cup | :01:19. | :01:21.
squad was no surprise after the way they've performed this season. | :01:22. | :01:26.
I think the young talent in this country is scary. When they all | :01:27. | :01:33.
perform to the top-level, I wasn't surprised at all when I saw them in | :01:34. | :01:41.
the 23. A lot of young players have been fantastic this season and I'm | :01:42. | :01:44.
sure the manager wants them to continue that in Brazil. | :01:45. | :01:45.
they've performed this season. Meanwhile, football's governing body | :01:46. | :01:48.
Fifa has said it's satisfied with a test event carried out at the Sao | :01:49. | :01:51.
Paulo stadium, where the World Cup is due to kick off on June 12th. | :01:52. | :01:55.
There have been worries that the stadium may not be totally ready | :01:56. | :01:58.
for the start of the tournament because of building delays, | :01:59. | :02:01.
but officials said they were happy with what they saw last night. | :02:02. | :02:04.
Next, if you could solve a scientific problem in | :02:05. | :02:07.
Well, a prize worth ?10 million is up for grabs for someone with a big | :02:08. | :02:13.
The competition is based on the 1714 Longitude Prize | :02:14. | :02:17.
when John Harrison invented a clock that allowed sailors to work | :02:18. | :02:20.
Here in the UK, we're used to the idea that you | :02:21. | :02:33.
do difficult or dangerous jobs. But in parts of America some kids are | :02:34. | :02:38.
having to work long hours in order to earn money, and it is allowed by | :02:39. | :02:42.
the authorities. Ayshah has been looking into the story. | :02:43. | :02:45.
Last summer, Brandon and his brother worked long days picking | :02:46. | :02:50.
tobacco, used to make cigarettes. I wake up at four o'clock every | :02:51. | :02:56.
morning and was in there by 6:30am. I was not out until about 8:30pm. | :02:57. | :03:07.
In England and Wales, a child has to be 13 to work, | :03:08. | :03:10.
but even then it must only be a part-time job, like a paper round. | :03:11. | :03:14.
But there are some parts of the US, like North Carolina, where children | :03:15. | :03:18.
as young as 12 can work up to 72 hours a week in the fields. | :03:19. | :03:22.
A group which campaigns for people's rights says, | :03:23. | :03:24.
although this isn't against the law in North Carolina, it's not right. | :03:25. | :03:27.
They say working in tobacco fields is dangerous. | :03:28. | :03:29.
The leaves can cause sickness and headaches while the chemicals | :03:30. | :03:32.
used to protect the crops from pests can be harmful to their skin, too. | :03:33. | :03:36.
Most people kept trash bags on them to keep the chemicals | :03:37. | :03:39.
On the first day it got on my face a lot, and I did not know | :03:40. | :03:47.
that until I got home later that day and my face was burning. | :03:48. | :03:51.
I told my mum and she said, it's because the chemicals are | :03:52. | :03:55.
There are laws here that say that if children work then it has to be | :03:56. | :04:04.
before or after school but some people think that children | :04:05. | :04:07.
should work in the fields because it is part of the tradition | :04:08. | :04:10.
As far as being safe, my parents felt safe enough for me to be here. | :04:11. | :04:18.
I am an eighth generation farmer, my children are ninth generation | :04:19. | :04:21.
farmers and that is the way they learn their responsibility. | :04:22. | :04:24.
At the moment, it doesn't look like there will be a change in the | :04:25. | :04:28.
law in North Carolina, which means there is pressure on the companies | :04:29. | :04:31.
that make cigarettes to stop kids from working in the fields. | :04:32. | :04:35.
Last up, Rita Ora has scored her fourth UK number one with her | :04:36. | :04:39.
The track, which was produced by Calvin Harris, took her right to | :04:40. | :04:44.
the top of the charts, and Rita says she can't stop smiling. | :04:45. | :04:49.
Leah is back here with all the day's top stories at 4:20pm. | :04:50. | :04:53.
