Beneath the bandages - unravelling the mummy mystery.

First up, have you ever dreamt of showing off your footballing

Well, for some lucky schoolkids, that dream is about to come true,

because in a few hours' time pupils representing all 20 Premier League

teams will compete in the finals of the Premier League schools

It's all taking place at the Etihad Stadium,

the home of Manchester City, and Martin is there for us now.

Just behind me, revelations are well underway for the Premier league

schools tournament, hosted by champions Manchester city. But today

is about the clubs being the presented by children, over 10,000

children from 1300 schools have played in regional tournaments to

play in these finals here. Her big day for the children. These are the

top 20 teams that have won the right to play on this pitch. You have got

Premier league referees in charge. The children will walk through the

same entrance, use the dressing rooms and come out on the pitch to

the Premier league anthem. And what else is up for grabs? At huge prize,

a mini replica of the Premier league trophy. That is amazing. I want the

trophy! Martin will have more on the

tournament later this afternoon. Good luck if you're playing today.

Next up, we're talking mummies: have you ever wondered what's

lurking beneath those bandages? Well, the British Museum has used

ground-breaking techniques to reveal amazing details

about the people inside them. Using a state-of-the-art CT scanner,

scientists were able to discover the mummies' age,

what they ate and how they died. The BBC's Pallab Ghosh has

been to unravel the mystery. This is how we're used to seeing

mummies, entombed in their burial caskets.

The CT scans enable us to see right through the casket

and even through the bandages. Here's the body

of a 40-year-old woman buried with her precious amulets.

It's the first time that this has been seen for 4,000 years.

The aim of the study is to learn more about the people underneath

the bandages and, in a sense, bring the mummies back to life.

Next to a massive new study on how mobile phones affect your brain:

it's thought that around 70% of 11- and 12-year-olds own a phone.

The Government's Department for Health hope to recruit 2,500

children to take part in the research.

They want to find out more about how phones affect thinking

Thousands of secondary-school children are setting off for special

tours of battlefields in Belgium and France to remember the hundredth

and students understand the conflict and to encourage them to share
