This is Newsround. Manchester United are not commenting on reports that | :00:10. | :00:18.
David Moyes is set to leave. The club told the BBC that David Moyes | :00:19. | :00:22.
has not been sacked, but would not comment on his long-term future. | :00:23. | :00:24.
Various newspapers have claimed the club will say goodbye to him as | :00:25. | :00:29.
early as this week, following a poor season. | :00:30. | :00:32.
In America thousands of runners are taking part in the Boston Marathon, | :00:33. | :00:35.
a year after two bombs exploded near the finish line. The events shocked | :00:36. | :00:40.
the world, but one year on more people than ever are determined to | :00:41. | :00:44.
get involved. The 118th Boston marathon is well | :00:45. | :00:49.
under way. It might look like any other big event, but security is | :00:50. | :00:53.
much tighter than usual here.. Last year, three people died and over 260 | :00:54. | :00:56.
were injured when two bombs exploded near the finish line. There was a | :00:57. | :01:02.
big search for the two men thought to be responsible. One suspect was | :01:03. | :01:06.
killed and the other is still awaiting trial. But this hasn't | :01:07. | :01:10.
stopped people from wanting to take part. 36,000 runners have signed up, | :01:11. | :01:13.
9,000 more than usual, giving those who couldn't complete the course | :01:14. | :01:18.
last year the chance to finish it. The BBC's Laura Trevelyan sent us | :01:19. | :01:22.
this from the finish line, just before the race got underway. Behind | :01:23. | :01:30.
me on Boston Common, banners are spread out, messages of support from | :01:31. | :01:33.
across America, as the whole nation remembers what happened last year. | :01:34. | :01:39.
Security is very tight. 3500 police officers, 50 observation points at | :01:40. | :01:43.
the finish line. This is a chance for the city to remember, but also | :01:44. | :01:46.
to recover and show its resilience to the world. 500,000 supporters | :01:47. | :01:49.
have turned up to cheer on family and friends and like the runners, | :01:50. | :01:53.
they're more determined than ever to be there. Just to show the | :01:54. | :01:58.
terrorists that they can't win. I saw a picture a few years ago that | :01:59. | :02:02.
said, we need to take our finish line back. I think that's what | :02:03. | :02:08.
36,000 people are going to do. I think it's great, I believe those | :02:09. | :02:11.
that say it is the safest place on the planet today. For these runners, | :02:12. | :02:14.
crossing the finish line won't just be a personal victory, but one for | :02:15. | :02:18.
the whole city. And if you're upset by anything you see on the news | :02:19. | :02:22.
there's help and advice over on the Newsround website. | :02:23. | :02:24.
The Queen's 88th birthday has been marked across the UK with | :02:25. | :02:27.
traditional gun salutes. A 62-gun royal salute was fired from the | :02:28. | :02:30.
Tower of London and there was also guns fired in London's Green Park | :02:31. | :02:33.
and at Edinburgh and Stirling Castles. The Queen celebrates her | :02:34. | :02:37.
birthday twice a year. Today is her actual birthday and in June there | :02:38. | :02:40.
will be another celebration to mark the occasion. | :02:41. | :02:44.
That's all from me, make sure you're back here bright and early tomorrow | :02:45. | :02:50.
morning at 7:40. As Radio One celebrate a decade of downloads, we | :02:51. | :02:53.
will reveal which song is the official all-time download. I wonder | :02:54. | :03:00.
who it will be? Is it then? Check back tomorrow. | :03:01. | :03:01. |
