I'm Naz and welcome to Newsround as we mark the end

of the Rio Olympics which went out with a bang last night.

Rio has delivered history. From my heart,

The closing ceremony was a huge carnival-style party as the official

Olympic baton was handed over to Tokyo who will host the 2020

The ceremony marked the end of the MOST successful Olympics

Great Britain ended the games above China with 27 gold medals.

Ricky has been out there for the whole competition and he's

athletes have had their Everything into the Olympics. They trained a

night to try and be the best they can possibly be and fulfil their

dreams and all that hard work has finally paid off for Team GB,

because right here in real, they just didn't bring on the great, they

smashed it. Hello Newsround! It all started right here behind me at the

aquatic centre. 19-year-old Adam Peaty got the first gold for Team GB

and it started a little bit of a gold rush. Jazz Carlin not only had

their best me on here at the Olympics, she now has to-macro

Silvers swinging around her neck. Tom and Dan cemented their

partnership claiming bronze but bigger things were to come. A

historic old for Chris and Jack in the diving... Just over there.

Yes! That is an Olympic medal for sure. Simone Biles came the star but

the gymnasts did us proud, Max Whitlock bringing home two gold

medals. 11 medals in the velodrome, six of them gold. Laura Trott led

the way, winning her fourth gold, now Britain's most successful female

Olympian and Bradley's gold made him a proud owner of most Olympic medals

for Team GB. Bree maniac here, Centre Court, Andy Murray went on to

defend his title. Andy Murray is a double Olympic gold medallist. What

would use a has been the best thing about the Olympics here? The

atmosphere and everyone is really friendly and help. They've been

really good, especially for Team GB, we've all done ourselves, done

really well. I like the cycling and athletics. Well done Team GB, you

are the best. In athletics the fastest man on earth Usain Bolt

didn't this point. Mo Farah got the double winning two more golds. The

smiley as the boxer on as Nicola Adams defended her title, yes, you

got it, and other gold. But was winning all these medals the only

highlight for these athletes? Obviously the best thing about being

here at the Olympics is talking to Newsround, right? Absolutely, I have

been watching this show since I was a little boy so being here is huge.
