It's Monday, I'm Jenny, live with your first Newsround update.

Coming up:

The red planet rover touching down after a 400 million mile journey.

But first, hundreds of thousands of people have taken to

the streets to ask world leaders to do more to protect the environment.

More than 10,000 people, including the Nanny McPhee actress Emma

Thompson, turned out in London for a special march to urge countries

around the globe to cut the amount of harmful gases they produce.

It was one of more than 2,000 marches planned

for the start of United Nations talks later this week.

Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been asked to speak

Next to Mars, and the US Space Agency mission that hit the Red

Planet's orbit just a few hours ago.

NASA? Maven craft has been whizzing through space for

the past ten months, travelling more than 442 million miles from Earth.

The Maven had to slow down enough to allow the gravity

on Mars to grab it.

Once the spacecraft is in position on the planet it will

spend the next year investigating why Mars is so dry.

Now, when you think of endangered species, you usually

think of pandas and tigers.

But scientists in Scotland are worried about another type

of creature, natterjack toads.

Their numbers are falling, and researchers are looking into

new ways to make sure they survive.

We sent Ayshah on a mission to track down the slimy rare amphibians.

Experts say we can expect a "good spider season" because of the

recent mild weather, which has meant there are more

insects for the spiders to eat.

And that's prompted loads of you to tell us about your spider sightings

over on the website Abigail said, ?I saw a giant spider in my room

and I couldn't sleep till my mum had thrown it out of the window.?

Emily from Birmingham saw four spiders in three days.

She said one was bigger than her hand!

Melly from London said, ?I've seen loads in my garden and

in the corner of the room.

I hate spiders!?
