But first to the big election that's thrown up

The European elections give people across the continent a chance to

vote in who they want to represent them in the European Parliament.

The votes have been counted overnight and throughout the day,

and in Britain, The UK Independence Party,

or UKIP as they're known, shocked everyone by finishing ahead of

Earlier, I spoke to the BBC's political correspondent

It is a huge deal for the UK Independence Party because pretty

much in the last couple of years they've come almost from nowhere.

Here they are winning a national election, beating the big parties,

the Conservatives, Labour and the Liberal Democrats. They want UKIP to

take Britain out of what is known Liberal Democrats. They want UKIP to

the European Union. Britain has been a member for a good number of years.

This result makes that possibility at some stage that bit more likely.

What does this mean for the UK 's main political parties? It means a

real head scratch. What to do about the new kids on the block who are

doing so well. From the Liberal Democrats who are in government with

the Conservatives at Westminster, it was a terrible night. They lost

almost all of the members. For the Conservatives and Labour, it was

very close. Labour just managed to beat the Conservatives but not by

merit -- very much at all. People will say that the general election

will be very close indeed. A town in China has been overrun by

tens of thousands of butterflies. More than 700 species have

emerged in the Maandi township. People there say they are having

to be careful not to step on them. It's thought hot temperatures

and good plant life have helped You can find out more
