It's Tuesday, Ayshah here, live this morning, | :00:00. | :00:00.
The penguin with a new 3D printed boot. | :00:00. | :00:09.
And the UK's tallest mountain under the sea. | :00:10. | :00:12.
We're starting with a record breaker. | :00:13. | :00:24.
An aircraft powered entirely by the sun has finished its epic | :00:25. | :00:27.
Solar Impulse 2 touched down in Abu Dhabi in the early | :00:28. | :00:33.
The journey involved 17 separate stages around the world. | :00:34. | :00:38.
The final flight from Cairo in Egypt took more than 48 hours. | :00:39. | :00:44.
Well, BBC science correspondent Jonathan Amos has been | :00:45. | :00:46.
following the journey and is here with us now. | :00:47. | :00:52.
Thank you for joining us. How big a deal is this journey? This is the | :00:53. | :00:58.
first time a solar plane has flown all the way around the world, so it | :00:59. | :01:03.
is a big deal. The two pilots take turns to fire this plane, the two | :01:04. | :01:10.
Swiss gentleman. When they first said they wanted to do this, they | :01:11. | :01:14.
went to manufacturers and said, can you build is this plane? They said, | :01:15. | :01:21.
we can't. It sounds crazy. They were refused to be put down and spoke to | :01:22. | :01:26.
people, developers the technology that can give us a plane to fly | :01:27. | :01:30.
through the day and through the night. It gets plenty of sun but it | :01:31. | :01:36.
needs to store the energy. The journey wasn't easy, they had some | :01:37. | :01:42.
problems. They did this huge journey across the western Pacific Ocean, | :01:43. | :01:46.
which took five days and five nights. Imagine being stuck in the | :01:47. | :01:50.
cockpit for that time, you can't get out and go for a walk. When they did | :01:51. | :01:55.
it, they damage their batteries so had to stay in Hawaii the ten months | :01:56. | :02:02.
to fix it. Finally, people will be wondering, will we be flying in a | :02:03. | :02:07.
solar plane any time soon? Can I go to Barcelona for my holidays on it? | :02:08. | :02:11.
You can only fit one person in it. We may see some small planes in the | :02:12. | :02:20.
future with a few passengers, but you will still be going in a jet on | :02:21. | :02:25.
your holiday. Thank you for joining us. | :02:26. | :02:29.
Next, scientists exploring the UK's tallest mountain aren't | :02:30. | :02:31.
packing their hiking gear and walking boots, they're | :02:32. | :02:33.
That's because the biggest mountain is hundreds of metres underwater off | :02:34. | :02:37.
It's called the Hebrides Terrace Seamount, and is 1700 metres tall. | :02:38. | :02:42.
Scientists are using robots to explore the mountain, | :02:43. | :02:45.
and find out more about the wildlife that live around it. | :02:46. | :02:48.
They've found samples of coral which could be thousands of years | :02:49. | :02:53.
old, and say it could be a hot spot for marine life. | :02:54. | :03:01.
It is so exciting to do this type of research. We see the sea floor come | :03:02. | :03:08.
out, and you don't know what you will find. This is the first time | :03:09. | :03:13.
anybody has seen this seamount and the animals, how they live, what | :03:14. | :03:18.
they live on, in between, he lives with them, not really exciting. We | :03:19. | :03:25.
saw some incredible things. -- that's really exciting. | :03:26. | :03:28.
So that got us thinking, where would you like to | :03:29. | :03:30.
Maybe a safari or some ancient ruins? | :03:31. | :03:34.
Let us know where and why online now. | :03:35. | :03:36.
Next up, many children around the world are forced to work - | :03:37. | :03:39.
that means they can't do normal things like playing with their | :03:40. | :03:43.
This happens to thousands of children in Ghana in West Africa, | :03:44. | :03:48.
It's the African country's biggest fishing ground. | :03:49. | :03:55.
About 20,000 children are being forced to work on its waters - | :03:56. | :03:59.
some of them are sent to work by poor families in the hope | :04:00. | :04:02.
But they end up being made to work as fishermen, | :04:03. | :04:08.
and treated like slaves - made to work without pay | :04:09. | :04:10.
When he was ten, Dampson was taken from his family and made to work | :04:11. | :04:16.
Dampson worked in dangerous conditions. | :04:17. | :04:46.
Some of the boys he met were injured or died. | :04:47. | :04:53.
Dampson was eventually rescued by a charity called | :04:54. | :04:56.
He is now living with his dad and is back at school. | :04:57. | :05:03.
Dampson is slowly rebuilding his life. | :05:04. | :05:25.
If anything in that report has upset, you can go online | :05:26. | :05:28.
where we've got a guide to help you with lots of information there. | :05:29. | :05:36.
And finally, meet Purps the penguin from Connecticut in the USA. | :05:37. | :05:39.
She injured her left foot five years ago. | :05:40. | :05:41.
But now, thanks to school kids and experts at an aquarium, | :05:42. | :05:44.
they've designed a special boot for her - using a 3D printer. | :05:45. | :05:57.
That is all from me, Newsround is back at 4:20pm. | :05:58. | :06:01. |
