Afternoon all. Ricky here with giant sheep in need of a shave on the way,

:00:08.:00:10.

plus the lonely space robot who wants to come home.

:00:11.:00:15.

But first, to a warning that the world's rarest bird could disappear

:00:16.:00:18.

for good if more isn't done to save them.

:00:19.:00:20.

The Madagascan pochard lives on a remote island in the Indian Ocean.

:00:21.:00:24.

But with less than 30 now alive in the wild,

:00:25.:00:28.

experts say they need a new home to save them from extinction.

:00:29.:00:32.

Madagascar - home to birds and plants that don't

:00:33.:00:34.

And on this remote lake live the last 25 Madagascan pochards left

:00:35.:00:41.

They're under threat because the areas suitable for them to live

:00:42.:00:47.

Wildlife experts have been monitoring the species and say most

:00:48.:00:52.

new ducklings that are born are starving before they're fully grown.

:00:53.:00:56.

More than nine out of ten chicks don't last past three

:00:57.:00:59.

weeks old because of the lack of food available and a lack

:01:00.:01:02.

Although they're breading very successfully, they're laying a lot

:01:03.:01:10.

of eggs, some of the females are nesting twice in one year, the eggs

:01:11.:01:16.

are hatching - nine out of ten eggs hatch - but once they have hatched

:01:17.:01:20.

Pochards are diving birds and find their food underneath

:01:21.:01:26.

the water, usually at the bottom of lakes and rivers.

:01:27.:01:29.

But there's not much food in this lake and experts think

:01:30.:01:32.

the bottom is deeper down than the birds like to go.

:01:33.:01:35.

Well, two years ago the first pochards hatched in

:01:36.:01:39.

captivity and experts are working hard to save them in the wild.

:01:40.:01:43.

The next step's to find another lake that the pochards could live on.

:01:44.:01:48.

We started with satellite images and maps, identifying all

:01:49.:01:51.

Every single wetland we visited was in terrible condition.

:01:52.:01:56.

The quest for the pochard's new home is still under way, but it's hoped

:01:57.:02:02.

that with a lot of hard work this endangered species could thrive

:02:03.:02:06.

Next up, another England footy legend has decided to call it a day.

:02:07.:02:13.

In the last few hours, Frank Lampard's announced he's

:02:14.:02:15.

The former Chelsea star signed for American team New York City

:02:16.:02:21.

in the summer but is currently on loan at Man City.

:02:22.:02:25.

And the world's first talking space robot is coming back home.

:02:26.:02:28.

Kirbo here went to the International Space Station last August to test

:02:29.:02:33.

human-robot communications and his acrobatic movement in orbit.

:02:34.:02:37.

But he's heading back to Earth because he says he's tired

:02:38.:02:40.

Next, Liam from 1-D's done it, so has Hollywood star Zac Efforn.

:02:41.:02:46.

In fact, flyboarding has become the celebrity craze of the summer.

:02:47.:02:50.

So what does it involve and how hard is it to get right?

:02:51.:02:52.

-- finding out. The sport sees competitors perform

:02:53.:03:07.

tricks above water on special jet boots. I have come here to

:03:08.:03:12.

Littlehampton to find out more. What is the science behind flyboarding?

:03:13.:03:17.

The flyboard is attached to the back of a jet ski. The water is

:03:18.:03:23.

redirected to your feet through a 65-foot hose. That will levitate you

:03:24.:03:29.

out of the water. I have my wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy aid and a British

:03:30.:03:32.

flyboarding champion. Come on, you going to give it a go?

:03:33.:03:49.

Alright then. If I have to! Flyboarding is a watersport that's

:03:50.:03:54.

becoming more popular. The youngest flyboarding champion is 15 and

:03:55.:03:58.

thousands of people around the world have tried it. It's a sport that

:03:59.:04:02.

really does make you feel like you are flying!

:04:03.:04:11.

That was, like, quite possibly the coolest thing that I have ever, ever

:04:12.:04:32.

done. Amazing! We haven't seen her since!

:04:33.:04:38.

Could this sheep be the wooliest in the world?

:04:39.:04:40.

Farmers in Australia were surprised when

:04:41.:04:42.

this guy turned up after being lost in the wilderness for six years.

:04:43.:04:44.

He's never had a haircut and his fleece weighed in

:04:45.:04:46.

at more than three stones - which could be a new world record.

:04:47.:04:48.

You can find out more about him on the Newsround website. That is your

:04:49.:05:00.

lot. We will be back in the morning. Bye-bye.

:05:01.:05:02.
