Hi, guys.

0:00:110:00:12

Martin here with your afternoon Newsround.

0:00:120:00:14

First up, the timer is close to pinging

0:00:140:00:15

on the Great British Bake Off.

0:00:150:00:19

Tonight sees the grand finale on BBC One.

0:00:190:00:22

So who will be crowned the series winner?

0:00:220:00:23

Well, with this year's Royal Theme, Andrew, Jane and Candice will be

0:00:240:00:27

getting their whisking spoons and hoping it's them.

0:00:270:00:32

Well, Junior Bake Off champ Amari dropped into Newsround HQ to give

0:00:320:00:36

us her take on the final three!

0:00:360:00:39

I'm jumping between Candice and Jane.

0:00:390:00:47

They're all good bakers, but I think it will be one of them.

0:00:470:00:50

You have to be a good baker.

0:00:500:00:53

But it's also the personality and your creative skills

0:00:530:00:55

to go with it as well.

0:00:550:01:01

You just need to be calm.

0:01:010:01:03

I've learnt a few tips about baking and I would like to try

0:01:030:01:06

and make what they've made.

0:01:060:01:08

Now, we asked who you think should be crowned Bake Off Champion.

0:01:080:01:11

Chloe says...

0:01:110:01:12

"Candice should win.

0:01:120:01:14

I loved her gingerbread pub and her marzipan peacock."

0:01:140:01:16

Rory wants Andrew to win because he loved his churros.

0:01:160:01:21

Isabella is in Team Jane "because she pushes herself".

0:01:210:01:24

And Lucy just says, "It's too hard to decide".

0:01:240:01:26

I know how you feel, Lucy.

0:01:260:01:28

Thanks for all your comments, guys!

0:01:280:01:30

Now, when it comes to pollution, you might think of things down

0:01:300:01:35

here on the ground like car fumes and factories, but to find

0:01:350:01:38

out how clean the air actually is in our cities,

0:01:380:01:40

scientists are taking to the skies.

0:01:400:01:42

And I went along with them.

0:01:420:01:45

This is one of the most advanced scientific aircraft in the world.

0:01:480:01:53

It is this plane's job to measure the amount of air pollution

0:01:530:01:56

there is in cities across the UK, and I'm about to hop on board

0:01:560:01:59

from East Midlands to Manchester to see how it works.

0:01:590:02:07

On the outside, it might look like an ordinary aeroplane,

0:02:110:02:14

but on the inside, it's a high-tech chemistry lab.

0:02:140:02:18

On board, I spoke to one of the lead scientists to find out more.

0:02:180:02:23

James, what are we doing on this aircraft today?

0:02:230:02:25

We're flying off the coast of Liverpool and Manchester.

0:02:250:02:29

The wind is currently blowing all the pollution that gets emitted

0:02:290:02:31

from cars and factories and things.

0:02:310:02:36

It's blowing it over the sea and we're crossing that plume

0:02:360:02:39

of pollution, trying to measure how much is in it.

0:02:390:02:41

Air pollution is bad for us.

0:02:410:02:43

What we're doing here is trying to understand better where this

0:02:430:02:46

pollution is coming from, how much is being emitted and then,

0:02:460:02:49

going forward, how to better inform people as to how we can improve

0:02:490:02:52

the air quality in our cities.

0:02:520:03:01

James, how unique is this aircraft in what it does?

0:03:010:03:04

It's the only one in the UK.

0:03:040:03:05

It's the largest one in Europe.

0:03:050:03:07

And it's pretty much state-of-the-art.

0:03:070:03:08

Compared to other aircraft around the world, it is

0:03:080:03:10

pretty much the best.

0:03:100:03:17

We've got a few bits of equipment out hanging beneath the wings that

0:03:170:03:20

measure things like clouds as we go through them.

0:03:200:03:22

And we've also got quite a lot of equipment inside the aircraft cabin.

0:03:220:03:26

The air is being sucked through and our instruments

0:03:260:03:28

are providing a measurement of the different air pollutants.

0:03:280:03:30

There is a lot of high-tech equipment being flown around

0:03:300:03:32

in this aircraft cabin.

0:03:320:03:41

Now, Manchester United face Manchester City in a League Cup

0:03:410:03:44

derby match later on.

0:03:440:03:45

But here's the real Match of the Day.

0:03:450:03:47

Two teams of robots competing in the final of

0:03:470:03:49

the RoboCup Challenge in Beijing, in China.

0:03:490:03:51

Check it out.

0:03:510:03:57

Welcome to the RoboCup Challenge in Beijing, China.

0:03:570:04:02

Four teams competed in the tournaments and robots

0:04:020:04:04

from Australia and the USA went head-to-head in the grand final.

0:04:040:04:07

They're not controlled by humans but, instead,

0:04:070:04:09

the robots can connect to a wireless network and can

0:04:090:04:12

communicate with each other.

0:04:120:04:12

They make decisions by themselves during the match.

0:04:120:04:14

Each team can have up to five robots on the field and substitutions

0:04:140:04:17

are allowed if a robot overheats or gets injured.

0:04:170:04:27

Final score - USA 7, Australia 3.

0:04:270:04:28

Well played!

0:04:280:04:32

Now, after getting in hot water when he complained about fans

0:04:320:04:35

screaming too much at a concert in Manchester this week,

0:04:350:04:37

Justin Bieber has been keeping it cool in the ice rink.

0:04:370:04:40

The pop star dropped in to join training at the Manchester

0:04:400:04:42

Storm Ice Hockey team.

0:04:420:04:43

And he wasn't just making up the numbers, check

0:04:430:04:45

out his goalscoring skills!

0:04:450:04:53

Amazing.

0:04:530:04:54

That's all from me.

0:04:540:04:55

Newsround's back at 7:40am tomorrow with Leah.
